Mari pushed the door open to the exam room she was in. Settling her purse across her shoulder she straightened herself out a bit and fixed her coat. No matter how good she looked she always felt slightly frumpy and awkward. Massaging her temple she exhaled. She didn't have a clue what Rodney's phone number was and she knew it had been a week or so since she had spoken to him. She didn't know what he was thinking by now. He probably thought she had been murdered and tossed in a ditch. She shuddered at that thought and slid down the wall to a bench.
To say her life was complicated was an understatement. She still didn't know what to think of Trent after what she saw. Was he just lying to her or did the key to him coming back to humanity lie with her? She really didn't know her impact on him though she had figured out he'd killed at least one cheerleader that had insulted her. She still had to talk to him about that and find out where their situation was going. Were they dating or was he just going to continue being some dark avenging angel righting all the wrongs he saw in her life.
Sometimes she felt like she didn't know where her life was going. Her father certainly wanted it to happen. He was banking on her marrying Trenton so he could secure his financial future in the demonic community. She felt like she was being lock stepped into position. Her life a series of planned out decisions that she had little choice in following. She wanted to scream. The desire to run as far as she could was very strong and it took her closing her eyes to keep her twitching limbs at bay.
"When others look to you to make their choices you no longer make your own." she muttered softly to herself. All her mother's lessons she remembered as if they had happened yesterday. You don't have to be wild to want to run....she felt that song pulsing through her and she exhaled it calmed her even as it fed her need for freedom. She wished not for the first time that her mother was here to talk to. She didn't have anyone to talk to and at some point you had to stop running and face yourself.

Today just wasn’t Rodney’s day. Okay, no it was more like this week just wasn’t his week. His knee had been in more pain now than when he first screwed up the damn thing. But that was the least of his issues. Well, no, it was actually the issue he should probably be thinking about the most because it could screw up the rest of football season for him and possibly the rest of football period. But at this point, all he could think about was Marina. The last time he had spoken to her, he was dropping her off at her house telling her he’d be back to pick her up in an hour to come live with him for a while to get away from her father. When he had gone back to her place, she was nowhere to be seen. While he was there, he had looked through her things, which he did feel a tad uncomfortable with, just to find some sort of rhyme or reason to explain where she had disappeared too. And since he hadn’t found anything, she was the only thing that was in his head. Too many things were going through his mind, her father being the first. He could have beat to her a bloody pulp to the point of death. And to save himself from someone possibly finding the body, he could have dumped it somewhere or had one of his henchmen get rid of her. And that wasn’t even the worst thing that could have happened to her. Maybe her father had nothing to do with it. Maybe some creeper came followed her up after he left and killed her in ways Rodney didn’t even want to think about. The possibilities were endless which just thinking about yet again were making him uneasy.
At first he thought that maybe something happened where she had to run out or something, but when Rodney had gone to school the next day and expected to see her in the library, he started to get a bit worried when she wasn’t there. He didn’t think he’d feel so responsible for something like this until it actually happened. There were ‘If’s’ that he just couldn’t get out of his mind. If he had only followed her up those stairs. If he had told her that they could just both come back the next day and get her things. If he had only just faced her father to begin with the moment he found out about his mistreatment of Mari. So many ifs. So many mistakes. He was normally so calm about situations. He had always been that way. Being able to blend like a chameleon into any different circumstance. But Marina’s circumstance was not what he was used to. For once in his life he felt responsible for someone. He wasn’t sure what that meant right now, but he knew that he wanted more than anything to protect her from her father.
And just as Rodney was headed towards the x ray room, he heard that familiar voice of the girl he had just been thinking of for the past week and a half. “Marina,” he whispered to himself quickly turning around and limping as fast as he could to where he heard her voice. The door was open and the plaque on the wall next to it read Room 14. He peered inside and there she was sitting on the stupid poor excuse for a bed the doctor made you sit on to examine you. Without any hesitation, Rodney walked in. There was so much he had to say but had no clue where to start. He wanted to scream at her for not letting him know where she had been. She looked fine on the outside from where he was standing so why the hell hadn’t she contacted him to at least put him out of his misery of thinking something had happened to her. Just as he was about to start raising his voice unintentionally again, he noticed a bruise along her neck. He swallowed hard knowing exactly who and how that person had made those marks. “Marina,” he said softly as he stood a little in the doorway his eyes glazed over with wetness. Rodney wasn’t one to cry in front of people. It wasn’t because he cared what people thought of his emotions. In fact, he was a very emotional person, but crying was never really something that happened often with Rodney. It was strange how close someone could get to someone else just through experiences.

Mari was just getting ready to head out. Then she sensed Rodney. He was worried and was coming this way. She smelled the disinfectant and tried not to fret. What would he say to her? Then he was there and he was crying? She didn't even know how she managed what she did. She went from sitting there and then she was hugging him and sobbing hard, "I'm sorry I didn't call I didn't mean to not call I was ready and then I got called to the library and went to take care of an issue and then my dad was there and it just..."
He'd taken her to dinner and she'd remembered him saying he'd killed Philip and when she came to from fainting he dragged her over to see what he had done. She had started screaming and at some point he had knocked her unconcious and she'd woken up in the hospital.
She was sobbing and biting her hand to keep from being too loud, "I'm sorry he took my phone and I didn't know where to look to find your number. I was on pain meds and then the police were asking questions and my doctor started asking questions and I just got tired....I couldn't hide it any more. I-t-tried to be strong but it didn't work and my friend Trenton visited me when I was sick and has been keeping an eye out for my dad and trying to help but he's got classes and stuff and its just..." she rubbed her face with her left hand, her skin red and wet from her tears, "I didn't mean to hurt you or make you mad." She began to hiccup from crying so hard. Her hair clung to her face in wet curls She smelled his aftershave and felt the fabric of his shirt against her cheek and she looked up at him. She inhaled and her asthma started to act up. She turned and coughed a slight wheeze coming from her as her bronchial tubes siezed up on her.
She tugged him over and sat on the bed as she found her inhalor and took a puff of her medication. She felt the medication fill her lungs and it seemed like an eternity before her body relaxed to let the medicine work. She felt like she had been run over and exhaled softly, "I'm sorry if I didn't make any sense." she said quietly.

It didn’t take long for Marina to go from sitting on the hospital checkup bed to throwing her arms around him. Rodney didn’t hesitate to wrap his arms around her. Normally to hug anyone, he’d be a bit timid, but being shy about things with Marina was the furthest thing from his mind. All he could do was hold her tight and bask in the realization that she was still alive, breathing, and standing before him.
When Marina started trying to explain herself, all Rodney could do was feel horrible for even being mad at her to begin with. How completely wrong of him to find it in his heart to hate Marina for not getting a hold of him. How could he when he knew full well that her father would be the one to make that not possible. And when she pulled away and looked at him, her eyes puffy and red from crying so much, Rodney wanted so much to be the one apologizing to her. Apologizing for not going into the apartment with her to get her belongings. Apologizing for not being there for her when her father decided to rip her right from his grasp.
Rodney could see that she was getting too worked up. She was having a hard time breathing, and she needed to sit down. She must have thought the same thing because it didn’t take long for her to be tugging at him as she walked backwards towards the hospital checkup bed once again. She sat down grabbing her inhaler and using it. Rodney watched her, sadness showing clearly on his face. “Hey,” he began as he moved the damp tear filled hair away from her face, “stop saying sorry. You have no reason to be sorry. You did nothing wrong.” He stared at her. “I’m not mad, okay. I was worried about you. I thought you were…” he paused deciding against using that one word that would make him most likely start crying himself. “…I just thought something really bad happened to you. But I’m here now, and I know who is responsible for this. He isn’t coming near you again. No matter what happens, I will not let him touch you.” It probably wasn’t what she needed to hear right now, but he needed to make sure she understood this. It was the last time that Marina would have to succumb to her father’s actions. She was going to live with him now. And if he needed to, he would just move out of his own dorm and get himself an apartment away from here just so he could take care of her. If that was what needed to be done, then it would be. At this point, he was willing to do anything.

It was so nice to just be able to hug someone. To know it wasn't going to be misconstrued as permission to be felt up or that you were trying to initiate something sexual. Rodney wouldn't ever know just how much that gesture touched Marina deeply. As soon as she got composed a bit more she relaxed and slowly felt her tension easing.
"Its n-not your fault Rodney. N-neither of us co-could know he was going to do what he did." she bit her lip and shook herself. She needed to be careful. She was reading him and he would notice if she didn't back off answering him before he said things. She was acting like a total noob.
"Daddy's just very controlling, Rodney." She whispers softly, "I'm not trying to make excuses for him but he's broken inside you need to understand that. He's not going to take this well. He'll be furious." she said softly as she looked into his eyes and bit her lip. She trembled quietly and felt cold as she tried so hard to keep things together for Rodney. "I'm scared. I've never left like this. He's going to be furious that the doctor said something and the police are writing reports and then he's finding out I'm leaving???" she found herself shaking, "There is so much you don't know. He just hired someone to keep me safe. His name's Trenton. Trent's been keeping my father calmer and giving me someone to talk to when Father is gone." she exhaled and rubbed her face, "Trenton is very protective of me." His hand on her face felt nice. "I will need to get surgery on my back to correct the scarring." she said softly as she sniffed and hiccuped. "So what is this place you wanted me to move into with you? A dorm? Do you have a roommate? I mean if you do we should ask him. I don't want to impose." She leaned into his hand gently. She was so frazzled and it was just nice to be able to let someone else help her think.

He listened to her intently as Marina spoke about her father and how broken he was. He still didn’t understand why she protected him. She had said that he was broken, but that was no excuse for what he had been doing to her no matter how many times she tried to convince him that she wasn’t making excuses for him. He knew that Marina felt completely stuck where she was, with her father, but why was she so scared of him. She had said that he had money, but his parents had money, and a whole lot of people had money. It didn’t mean they were invincible. But he decided not to push that issue. When he had first discussed it with Marina in his car, he had begun to raise his voice which scared her and upset him as well. He needed to stay calm and collective like every other situation he faced.
When Marina mentioned the man that her father had hired, he wasn’t sure how to respond. It had sounded like he meant well. Apparently he was there for Marina to talk to about everything, which made Rodney wonder why the heck her father had hired him in the first place if he was on Marina’s side. Maybe he had already known Marina and thought that the best way to protect her was to work for her father. Rodney thought it was a brilliant idea. That way Rodney was sure that when he wasn’t able to be there for Marina this Trenton guy would be. And if he seemed to be able to keep her father calmer, than he seemed to be doing a good job at that.
But when Marina started asking him questions about her moving in with him, he wondered if it was the best idea now. After talking about Trenton, Rodney wasn’t sure that getting her out right away was the best idea. If he could talk to this Trenton guy, maybe he could really see if his intentions were in the same place as his own. If that was the case, then maybe they could gradually work together to get Marina out. He smiled at her. “Everything is fine. Yeah it’s my dorm, and yeah I have a roommate. Axel is his name, remember?” He swore he had told her that before, but that was totally cool. He couldn’t blame her. He was sure she was still a bit hazy. He sighed. “I’ll talk to Axel about it, but I’m positive he won’t have a problem with it. But are you sure you want to do this? With everything going the way it is, I’m thinking maybe if Trenton is who you say he is, he might be able to help me figure something out that may be even better than you just moving in with me. Not that I don’t want you with me. I would love to have you stay with me for a while. But I’m thinking maybe if I can talk to Trenton first, we can both figure something out. You said you were afraid of what he will do, right? Well, if we are both working together and him not even knowing it, maybe that would be the best way to keep you safe. That way no one gets hurt.” As much as he didn’t believe that her father could really even hurt him, it would probably make Marina feel much better about the situation for him to be thinking about everyone’s fait and not just hers."What do you think? Do you think you can some how get this Trenton guy to talk to me? Would he be willing too? If not, then we will just go ahead with our plan as figure it out as we go. I just want to make sure this is going to have a happy ending for everyone."

She felt like she looked horrible. Her face was red and blotchy and her curls were loose from their braid. Her makeup had evaporated the minute she started crying and she felt like a train wreck. "Trenton might talk to you." she agreed as she looked up at him, "You'd have to meet up with us one of the nights he comes by. He's got classes so I don't always know when that will be. Its not like my dad tells me things and I didn't want to be too nosy." she admitted, "I mean he has the right to have a life away from me so I just enjoy being able to relax around him." She wiped her face lightly, "He's going to be watching me after my surgery. I guess you guys could talk then. I mean I'll be pretty out of it but you'll probably want to go grab a slushie in the cafeteria while you wait so its cool. It would be nice to have more friends and not have my dad mad at me. I don't like it when people get mad. It hurts." she reached for a kleenex and blew her nose. Her makeup was just gross at this stage and she was just tired.
Taking a small toiletries bag out of her purse she found some washcloths and wiped off all the excess makeup. She'd been careful not to get any on Rodney and with the foundation off it made her look like she'd been hit by a bus. Her bruises showed up darker and she bit her lip, "I'm sorry I forgot about Axel's name. There was just so much going on and the meds kinda fragged my memory. I mean I'd like to live with you but its important to me that everyone is on board with this. I don't want anyone upset or feeling like no one asked them and if he's not wanting to deal with the drama its totally cool." She looked up at him and hugged him, "Thank you, Rodney. You don't know how nice it is to have someone believe me." she leaned up and kissed his cheek. She wanted to let him know how special he was, "I really appreciate it. You're a wonderful guy." She hugged him tight and it took every ounce of willpower not to project how much she was grateful to him. She couldn't find the words for what was in her heart. They just weren't good enough for what he and Trenton had done for her. And Rodney moreso than Trent because he didn't know just how dangerous it was and still wanted to help.
(OOC If you want to have him kiss her I'm totally cool with that. Just figured I'd give you an opening)

”Good, the hospital seems like the best place to talk to him. At least that way we are both here anyways.” Rodney liked this idea. If he could work something out with Trenton, things would work for the better. If Reginald was as powerful as Marina kept saying he was, he was going to need all the help he could get.
Rodney was too busy trying to think of ways to tackle the whole talking to Trenton dilemma that he completely missed the fact that Marina had just told him that she needed to have surgery. ”Wait, surgery? Why are you having surgery?” Rodney had no clue about any surgery she might need. He hadn’t seen her in a week. He swallowed hard. He wasn’t sure he wanted to know why it was needed. It was probably something her dad did to her while she was away for a week. While her father probably ripped her from her apartment because he was lonely and needed someone to treat like shit. He couldn’t wait to see Reginald Sinclaire. The minute he saw him, he was going to show him a piece of what he’d be getting if he hurt Marina again. He wanted so much to just beat his face in. He had never hated someone so much in his life, and he’d never even met the guy.

"I'll ask him the next time I see him if its before I go in for surgery." she admitted with a nod of her head as she took out a brush and tried to get her hair in some semblance of order instead of looking so thrashed.
"I need plastic surgery to heal the scarring I have there. The doctors couldn't work on my back that long the first time. They needed to fly in more blood since I'm A negative and its not that common." she murmured softly, "My dad insists on donating for me. He's very picky." She looked at him and placed her brush back in her bag, gently reapplying her makeup to look decient. If her father showed up it would not bode well if she looked bad. Luckily makeup application did not take long for her. It wouldn't look as good as when her stylist did it but he knew she was always trying to learn on her own to perfect her own skill.
"Its not worth worrying about, Rodney." she said with a shrug. She hoped he didn't grab her chart on the door. That would be disastrous. Every broken bone, every sprain and cracked rib and even a few concussions were in there. Every scar was there in vivid description as well as her psych eval, medication and treatment options. She sighed and bit her lip. She was having serious doubts about letting Rodney do this. Maybe he'd forget...she'd hope so anyway.

Rodney watched her as she took out a brush and began to brush through her hair. He wanted to tell her that she looked perfectly fine but that was a lie. She looked horrible in the sense that she looked drained, bruised, and in a lot of pain. Rodney was almost positive that the scarring she was talking about came from her father. Where else would it have come from. Come to think of it, there was probably a lot that Rodney still didn’t know about Marina’s condition. Things that her father did to her that put her in the hospital so often. Sometimes it seemed like Marina didn’t want to tell Rodney everything just because she knew how he would react, but this was serious to Rodney. And when Marina said that it wasn’t worth worrying about, it bothered him. Everything that happened to her from her father was worth worrying about. It was only a matter of time before her next hospital visit was her being carried in in a body bag.
Rodney knew that the chart at the bottom of the bed would tell him everything, and at this point, he felt that he had a right to know. He reached down and picked it up. He knew she would probably protest, but he didn’t care. As he looked over the chart, he breathed in slowly and exhaled softly just to calm himself. It was a complete mess. Marina hadn’t just gone through a few bruises here and there, no. There were broken bones, sprains, cracked ribs, scarring, concussions, and surgeries after surgeries to fix the problems that he had caused. He had only skimmed it, but had seen enough. He slowly dropped the clip board back into the holder at the bottom of the bed.
Rodney moved over to Marina, and without even asking he lifted up the back of her shirt just enough to see the scar that would be removed during her surgery. He wanted to see what weapon a father could use on his own daughter. How could anyone do something like this to someone they loved? He knew right away that it was the indentation of a whip. He could see Marina cowering as her father beat her with a whip like a helpless animal. He wished he was superman so he could pick Marina up into his arms and fly her out of there and out of this city where she could live away from the man that had broken her. Right then. Right there in that hospital room. He made a vow to himself that he would get rid of Reginald. Whatever he had to do, he would be the one to kill him.

Reginald entered the hospital and scanned for his daughter. She was in an exam Room and he could tell she was scared about something. His brow furrowed and he quickened his pace a touch, wishing he could move as fast as a vampire. She began babbling at him in fear, telling him not to be mad at her.
"Darling what on earth are you worried about? You've not done anything for me to be mad about... It was then that he turned into her room to see her trying to jerk her shirt down, "WHAT THE BLOODY HELL ARE YOU DOING TO MY DAUGHTER?!?!" he roared as he reached forward and jerked his daughter forward and towards him.
"What kind of a sick pervert are you? How dare you come in here and touch my daughter in such a fashion! This is completely outrageous!" Reginald rumbled and moved Marina behind him as she tugged on him and tried to calm the situation, "Marina, be silent. This is not your fault but you are going to marry Trenton Moore and I'm not letting some freak lay hands on you without doing something about it."
"I suggest you leave here whoever you are before I have you arrested and thrown in jail. Assaulting young women in hospitals is likely to have you tagged as a sexual predator and we all know they don't last long in prison." He would have said more but he felt Marina's shock at his statement about Trenton. Turning he saw her start to faint.
Reaching forward he caught her up and glared, "Now look what you've done!!" He'd completely missed her stunned reaction to him telling her she was going to get married. "You scared her so badly she fainted. What kind of weirdo are you?" He tried to move her to the bed and laid her down.

Mari watched with dread as Rodney picked up her chart. "Rodney no please don't..." she begged him. She shook as he looked at the chart and buried her head in shame, "I didn't want you to see that please don't." she reached a hand towards him.
When he moved over and lifted her shirt slightly she tried to jerk away. She didn't want him to see her like that. Didn't want him to see the marks, "Rodney no please don't..." then her father was coming and she tried to calm him,
'Daddy please don't be mad I swear I didn't say or do anything please don't be mad please!!! She babbled mentally as she tried to pull her shirt down.
Then her father lifted her off the bed and behind him, not hard to do given how mad he was and how tiny she was, "Daddy please don't! Rodney just wanted to see why I was in the hospital he didn't mean any harm please don't please!!!" she tried grabbing at his coat and slipping around.
He mentioned her marrying Trenton, "Daddy....Get Married?" she blinked as she felt her knees buckle in shock, Marrying a vampire? Was that even possible? And Trent? Was that why he took her on the date?" she felt her father's arms around her and she tried to bring herself up. The creek of fake leather met her ears as he laid her down and was still yelling. Rodney was yelling too. She felt her body wake up and pushed herself.
"Daddy, Rodney no please don't!" she sat up and tried to stop the escalating screaming match that was going on. "Please no fighting!" she begged as she tried to stop the fighting and pulled the anger out of the room as best she could. It hurt her to do it but it needed to be done.

Rodney didn’t pay any attention to her pleas. Marina was important to him, and if seeing the hurt that Reginald Sinclaire put on her, made her upset, it would just be something he’d have to deal with. They were in this together now, and in order for that to happen, he needed to know and see everything. But just before he was about to move his hand from her back, he heard footsteps entering the room, and when the yelling began, he was pretty sure it wasn’t the doctor. Rodney slowly pulled his hand away from Marina and looked over at the man who had just walked into the room. This was the first time he had seen Marina’s father. He was very tall, gray haired, and had a look of superiority to the folk that he seemed to be looking down upon, at this point Rodney in particular. He wasn’t surprised that the man came barging into a public facility and started becoming a problem. He and Marina had definitely talked a lot about Reginald, and this was something Rodney could easily see him doing.
Rodney had so much he wanted to say at this moment to Reginald. He wanted so much to just punch his face in, and his anger and hate for this man grew the moment he put his hands on Marina ripping her from the hospital bed. He listened trying so hard to keep himself from lunging at this man Marina called daddy. He screamed about him marrying her off to Trenton who Rodney immediately made the connection with. This Trenton had to be the one that was working for Reginald and helping Marina. He was too busy being livid to make the connection that Trenton might possibly feel something for Marina or that he might just be manipulating her to marry her. The anger just continued to rise, especially when he started talking about what he had thought Rodney had done to his precious little daughter. Rodney’s fist clenched. He was a complete hypocrite! Every single thing that he had mentioned, Reginald himself had done to his own daughter. That was it. Rodney couldn’t take it anymore, and he really didn’t care if he was going to be able to get a word in edgewise because he was going to squeeze his two cents in anyways. “Well, I didn’t realize that touched the bottom of her back where her ass hole father whipped her was a problem! I mean someone had to see what kind of lunatic you are!” He threw his arm out at him for emphasis. “Oh, and I’m not leaving at all. If anyone’s leaving here, it should be you. As far as I’m concerned, I don’t care who the fuck you are, your presence isn’t welcome! And I can hold my own, thanks. You should worry about yourself, because child abusers don’t last long either!”
Just as he was about to continue on with this man, he could see Marina go down, but Reginald caught her before she fell. He helped her sit up. As much as he should have been worried about his daughter at that moment, he was still screaming at Rodney. And Rodney hadn’t even begun to give him what he deserved. “I scared her! That is what you’ve been doing for her whole life! I’m not the weirdo here. Not at all. I know my place! It’s right here, helping Marina pull herself together after the shit you put her through!” And as he continued screaming at Reginald, he was beginning to lose control. He could feel it. It wasn’t something he was use to. He would never get worked up about anything. He was always thought to be the calm collective guy who made any situation less tense, but his relationship with Marina happened to be bringing up a lot of things that Rodney didn’t know about himself. And at this point, there was nothing more he wanted to do than deck her father right in the face. So, he did, without any hesitation. The only problem was, he couldn’t stop himself. He hit him once square in the jaw, and then went at his face again. He could hear Marina in the background, but he couldn’t help the way he was feeling right now. Marina was so important to him, and he couldn’t see her like this. It gave him pure satisfaction to see someone who believed himself to be better than Marina, having a moment of weakness.

Reginald could sense how pissed Rodney was getting and see how his thoughts were turning dark. His eyes narrowed and he felt his daughter begging him not to make a public scene. She was cold to the touch while he helped her sit up and he glanced over at Rodney, "What happens between my daughter and myself is none of your concern!" he snapped as he did his best to try and help her, "You know nothing boy and you are not coming near her again. I won't permit it."
He sensed the blow coming and let it land, making sure to be away from Marina when it did to avoid her getting caught in the crossfire, his head jerked to the side with the haymaker and a bit of blood trickled out of the side of his lip as he shook his head to clear it then dodged the other blow before trying to land one of his own to Rodney's gut. "We are getting a restraining order. You are not coming near my daughter ever!" he roared as Reginald saw red and had enough sense not to use his powers to finish the fight.
"Marina go to the car now! You are not permitted to speak to this boy again!" he called back as he squared off against Rodney and he kept an eye where his daughter was to keep from having anything hurt her in their fight, "You're acting jealous boy. Could it be that you just can't stand the thought that maybe my upbringing made her the woman she is today? That Trenton may actually CARE for her? Did THAT ever occur to you?" he spat out, "Oh no! Its easy to think I arraigned everything isn't it? Its hard to believe that Trenton came to me and offered to protect her from people like you of his own volition or that he might grow fond of her and have asked my permission to date her. You and your modern viewpoint. All you see is a girl you can take advantage of. After all if you aren't even willing to be polite and not barge into her exam room why would I expect you to CARE about what is going on in her life?" He followed that swing with an uppercut to Rodney's jaw, "At least my daughter knows me. The fact that you could lose control at me tells her what kind of violent, self absorbed person you are!" he tried to launch a series of blows at the young football player and he saw his daughter cringing back against the wall. She was tugging at the emergency call button trying to get security to break up the fight.

Marina screamed and hid her face when the blows started flying. She scooted against the wall and pulled on the emergency bell while the two men exchanged verbal and physical blows. She covered her head as she saw the blow land on her father's face, For all that she was very in your face it covered her own fears of the environment she was in. But here there was no talking or way to get someone to back down. Both males were pounding the crap out of each other because in their own minds they were doing the right thing. Protecting her from the other.
"Please stop you're making my head hurt!!!" she wailed at them as she rocked in place and tried to drown them out. Her father was going to lock her up for a thousand years and Rodney was going to have something horrible happen. She reached a hand out but pulled it back when one of the men shoved the other, cringing, "No, stop please stop!!" she sobbed, tears running down her face as she curled up in a tiny ball and began to rock back and forth as past and present seemed to blend for her. The room felt too closed in and she shook hard loosing track of where she was as she had an abreaction of what had happened in her past. Dimly she heard screaming and somehow she recognized it over both male's voices as her own. She clinched her teeth closed and ducked her head to keep from being noticed.
Don't see me. Don't see me. Don't see me.... she thought over and over again as she tried the only trick she could think of to distance herself, Its not real. Its not real. Its not real..... she thought to herself as she tried to keep herself in the here and now. She coughed hard and wiped her bottom lip as her lungs tightened up. She felt some wetness coming from her nose and rubbed it. Blood. Her blood. Coming from her nose. This was bad.
