Things were going to be a little more interesting than usual today, somehow he could just feel it as he was in the locker room changing into his work clothes. As he put his tag onto his pocket, he found out that he was already right as the information that a fight had broken out in the hospital was bouncing around the locker room. The name Sinclaire was mentioned, was it already the date of her surgery? Rushing out of the locker room, Logan made a straight beeline for her exam room, hoping to get there in time to defuse the situation. He wasn't security or an orderly, but a six foot four he was built like a solid wall of muscle, he was no push over.
Sprinting down the halls, he would bust into the room the moment they started going at it for real. Adrenaline coursing through him, he took in the scene in what seemed to be slow motion. Two men throwing punches, Marina on the floor holding the call button, blood coming out of nose. Had one of them hit her to begin with? What triggered this little spat? Snapping out of his thoughts, Logan shot forward to step inbetween the two men with arms extended. On the way inbetween them he would take a few hits himself, though the pain was dulled by the adrenaline coursing through him. Trying his best to hold them apart, his face twisted into an irate scowl.
"Knock it off ladies!" he shouted, giving them both a good push in the opposite direction. Assuming they weren't going to come right back at it, he turned his gaze to both of them. "This is a hospital, not a UFC cage. If you both want to act like animals I can have you thrown out of here. I'm sure Marina wouldn't mine, as you've both seemed to have frightened her." he said, voice raised as he moved over towards Marina, bending down to one knee to examine. Placing a hand on her jaw gently, he turned her face both ways to check out the extent of what he thought was a punch to the face, only to find out it was a bloody nose.
"Are you alright Marina? You didn't get hit did you?" he asked, helping her up. Reaching into his pocket, he retrieved a hankerchief for her to wipe her face on while he turned back to the other two. "Honestly, neither of you should be in here right now. Someone want to explain to me calmly what this was about? Or should I just tell security to get rid of both of you?"

Rodney was lucky to have hit Reginald the first time, but the second attempt was blocked by the man. Rodney was too busy trying to defend himself now from the blows coming from Reginald that he wasn’t really hearing anything he was saying. He was able to jump back in time to miss another painful blow to the gut. Rodney was definitely wrong when he thought this was going to be an easy win for him. He was actually putting up a really good fight, which sucked because punching each other had become now pointless. Yet, they kept on going exchanging a few words here and there when Rodney happened to catch one of his comments. He definitely had a lot of shit talk to say to Rodney as well which just pissed him off completely. Almost every word that was coming out of this guys mouth was hypocritical, and hypocrites bugged Rodney to no end. He was really irritated when Reginald ordered Marina to go to the car. “Stop ordering her around! She is not a play thing you can control whenever you feel like it!” It was no use Reginald was either completely ignoring him or really not agreeing with anything Rodney was saying. And it made him even angrier to hear the things that he was saying about him. Granted none of them were true, he heard those same comments a lot. Many girls thought he was just like any other jock who took advantage of women just so it could be some sort of trophy for them. It was pretty obvious that once you got to know Rodney, he was the farthest thing from that stereotype.
Rodney could hear Marina’s pleas behind him, and he wanted to stop to see if she was okay. He knew she wasn’t though, but he was facing Reginald and couldn’t see her. And just as things were beginning to get even more tense, a very large man in hospital attire came storming into the room, although both men were still at each other’s throats. But it really didn’t take long for the doctor to split them up. Reginald seemed to be a challenge in a fight, but this doctor would be a complete wipe out. No way could Rodney, even as athletic and built as he was, win a fight with this dude. So, when the dr. stepped in between the two of them and help up his hands, he didn’t hesitate to stop the fighting. He just glared over at Reginald wishing there was more he could do to hurt him.
Rodney’s eyes moved from Reginald to Logan as he walked over to Marina. Once he saw her, he felt horrible about even going for Reginald in the first place. Her nose was bleeding and she was crying again. He had really screwed up this time. Not only had he completely over reacted, he also made it clear that Marina had told him everything about Reginald and Marina’s relationship. He wasn’t for sure what this would mean for Marina, but he knew it wasn’t going to be good. He looked back over at Reginald, and he wanted more than anything to tell the doctor how horrible this man was to her. But he couldn’t do that. Even Marina had said that Reginald always had a way around things. If he was investigated, it would make Rodney look like the crazy one. He hesitated debating on whether or not leaving her side was the right thing to do. “It was just a tussle, doctor. Everything is fine now. And no need to call security, we are both leaving.” Rodney said sternly. The doctor wanted them both out, and Rodney wasn’t going to let anything else other than just that happen. Marina was having trouble right now, and the last thing she needed was her father to hurt her as soon as the doctor and Rodney both left the room. No, if Rodney was leaving, Reginald was too. It was a good thing this doctor really seemed to be behind both of them leaving. Reginald would probably have a hard time working around that.

Reginald took a step back and glared at Rodney as Logan separated them. "I was coming to collect my daughter when I saw the exam room door open. When I peeked in I saw him lifting up the back of her shirt. I realize I over reacted but its kind of instinctive when someone who doesn't work here is in my daughters examination room. Even doctors have to have a nurse present for more than a cursory examination its just part of policy."
He straightened his tie and looked over to his daughter who was moving to the exam bed and holding a handkerchief to her nose. She was mentally babbling how sorry she was and how she didn't know how the boy was going to look at her chart and her back. He was a friend from school. His face softened as he watched her. It was clear that the situation had slipped out of her control because this boy had been nosy and hit her at her weak point. "I'll leave and send another car for you, Marina. It should be waiting for you when you're finished here, darling." he said the last gently and turned to leave. Grabbing the door handle and stepping out into the hallway, his cell phone in his hand as he made sure she had someone to collect her when she was done.

She took the handkerchief that was offered and pressed it to her nose, "No, I just...got a headache trying to get them to stop fighting. Loud noise and bright light gives me migraines. The air is so dry today that when my blood pressure spiked I got a nose bleed." she sat down on the bed and laid back to help stop the nose bleed. She wanted to say things but the stress was just sending her gifts into overdrive and she closed her eyes. She was just getting too much information to process it all. She nodded to her father when he said he was leaving and would send a car for her. Once she knew he was away and out of range she sighed.
"Rodney is a friend from school. He...figured out my dad loses his temper and when he didn't hear from me after a week he was worried. He wanted to know what had happened. I didn't expect him to look at my chart or my back. I just...don't feel comfortable talking about some of the stuff in there and didn't want him to think badly of me after all the stuff with my past..." her voice was halting and soft and sounded nasal as she tried to keep the handkerchief pressed to her nose.
"I appreciate what you did standing up for me Rodney but violence isn't the way. I don't want you to get in trouble over me its not worth it. Please don't do anything rash because of me I wouldn't ever want anyone to be in trouble because of me. What's happened can't be changed and doing something could mean you get in a lot of trouble. You're a nice guy and don't deserve that." she exhaled softly.

Rodney listened to her father’s explanation. Of course, it was meant to make Rodney look like the bad guy. He just shook his head and rolled his eyes. He went on to tell Marina that there would be a car waiting for her when she was finished. At least there was no sign that Reginald was mad at Marina which was very good. Because if there was, Rodney would somehow make sure Marina went home with him instead of Reginald. Although, he wasn’t sure if that was just Reginald hiding it in front of the doctor or not. And he’d probably never know. It seemed that Reginald was pretty used to this whole situation. He knew exactly what to say to make someone look bad. He knew exactly what to say to manipulate someone. He was just an overall bad guy.
Once Reginald left the room, he watched Marina as she explained to the doctor what had really happened. He was thankful for that. Most of the time he didn’t care what people thought of him, but Reginald made him sound like a horrible person who was taking advantage of Marina which was not the case at all. Her eyes then moved from the doctor to Rodney. She explained to him how she didn’t want him to be involved really all the while working around the major issue just because the doctor was in the room. Rodney nodded. “Yeah. I’m really sorry about that. That doesn’t ever happen with me.” He swallowed hard. “It won’t happen again.” It was a lie. It really was. After what happened in this room today, Rodney knew exactly how Reginald was. He was a bad person that needed to be dealt with. He wasn’t going to back off at all. If anything, it just made him determined to make him pay. But he wouldn’t tell Marina that. He would just act as normal as possible about everything. What he really needed was to get a hold of Trenton. If he cared for her as much as Reginald said, he would have no problem helping Rodney with whatever needed to be done.
Rodney stepped forward towards the hospital bed and kissed Marina on the forehead. “I’m going to head out and let the doctor do what he needs to do.” He pulled away and looked down at her. “I will find you, okay?” He wanted her to know that. He knew that after this whole thing with Reginald, he would make sure that Marina never saw Rodney again. But there were ways around that, especially when he got a hold of this Trenton dude. He stepped back giving her a smile. “See you.” He said as he headed out of the room. He had a lot of work to do. He wanted to ask Marina about Trenton, but she had enough to worry about right now. He’d have to do this himself.

Logan sighed, shaking his head at the two men. They seemed pretty civial when someone else got in the crossfire, he could only imagine what the dispute was about. Her creep of a father rubbed even Logan the wrong way, many times he also thought of decking the guy a few times. That was actually why he was a bit grateful for what Rodney did. As Reginald left, before Rodney could walk out, Logan called after him with a smile on his face. "Nice punch there." Logan said, even if it was unprofessional. He was sure that even Marina would understand the way the two of them felt.
"Explains the tension, I sort of assumed. But you know, don't assume, all that nonsense." he said, watching Marina nurse her bloody nose. He actually laughed a bit at the way her voice sounded, smiling down at her. It was unfortunate that such a kind woman was stuck with a creep like Reginald for a father. If only there was some way she could escape for a bit, get some air, and see that there were people out there who actually wanted her to feel safe.
Checking his watch, Logan leaned back to also check the wall clock. He had five minutes left of his shift, with any luck there would be no accident that prevented him from leaving. "Since you're all worked up, how would you like to come out with me after work and unwind a bit? Sing a bit of karaoke, a few drinks, all of that noise." he said, rocking on the balls of his feet. It was the least he could do for one of his patients, though it was bit out of the rules. She came here so often however that he considered her to be like a good friend, that was how often they seemed to come into contact with each other.
"I'm buying, rich or not, you aren't taking that from me." he said, smirking at her.

Pinching her nose she tried not to laugh. It would just look gross. "My life just got a whole lot more complicated." she exhales, "Rodney is not in the plan my father has for my life. Everything is ordered and planned and Rodney messes that neat little chess match up being the white knight." she muttered with a shake of her head. "He's a great guy but I hate subjecting anyone to my dad. "And as for assuming, well everything is humorous when you sound like Donald Duck." she said as she smirked at him. "I think that sounds like a fine idea. I'll clue you in on the backstory of my soap opera life. The not so angsty bits. I swear no one would believe me. I couldn't even write a book about it unless it was a romance. But they would totally screw up the cover or something. Who knows? Maybe I should write it and make more money then they can rebuild the NIC Unit in my name or something pretentious like that. And far be it from me to tell a man he can't feed me and buy me a drink." she was careful to clean her nose off and folded the handkerchief gently, not sure where to put it. "Lead the way Man of Steel Krypto will follow along." she smirked. CLOSED [/center]
