She tried not to laugh but the blood loss made her giddy, "A vampire with a sense of humor. Who would have thought? Usually you're all stoic and all about fighting stereotypes." she winked at him, feeling better as the food kicked in and she sat up, "Well good. Because its hard to argue with what a person feels. I just like being with you. You make me feel pretty and wanted. Most people are my friends because of money or they work for me or its a save the world thing. You're my friend because you want to be and that is why I like you. Hell half the people I know wouldn't give me the time of day if I wasn't bank rolling their goals or had helped them in some way. I mean yeah they feel bad for me but at the end of the day its more..awkward than anything else. I am more interested in you than the movie." she said with a soft smile.

Trenton smirked at Marina's comment about how he brooded and fought the stereotypes. "Oh, and what about you? You do not feel the need to defend a Cupid's actual image?" he shot back. He then fell silent as she went on to say that he made her feel pretty and wanted, explaining that most people only paid attention to her because she was bankrolling them or felt sorry for her. "Well then, it is their loss and my fortunate gain to know the real you," he replied. At her comment of being more interested in him than the movie, he looked at her devilishly. "Oh, really?" he asked, his lips curving into a smirk.

"Hey do I look like a giant baby with wings? I am walking proof cupids are not little infants with weaponry." she said as she rolled over so she was facing him on the couch, "Besides, I don't relish the idea of being that smarmy cute."
"Flatter." she was pleased by his words though and he saw them brighten just s little bit. Her confidence had been destroyed but there were hints of her old self trying to come to the surface. She needed hm to be nice to her and it helped that he was. It helped not having to watch her back, to be accepted and loved in spite of everything.
"Yes, really. You know you fascinate me and I find you attractive. Why is this so hard to believe that I would be interested in a real conversation with you? I like you for you, Trent. No tricks, no head games just genuine like." she sighed at him good naturedly.

Trenton let out a laugh as Marina stated that she was in no way like the perceived notion of Cupids. "No, you certainly aren't," he agreed and then let out another chuckle at her displeasure of being thought of as "smarmy cute". "But you do it so well," he teased. He couldn't believe the affect she had on him. If she was anyone else, she would have been made a meal. But even as a human, he had sensed that there was something special about her and it had intrigued him. Who would have thought that he would let his humanity show after all these years?
As if sensing his thoughts and in response to his question, she answered to the affirmative and then asked why he found it so hard to believe that she would be interested in him, and that she liked him for who he was, no tricks involved. "I am a monster. I am the thing in the dark that you fear...or...should fear," he responded.

"And you would look hot in a tux but I don't see you wandering around in one for my visceral enjoyment." she quipped lightly. She still felt slightly buzzy and it made her cuddly. Which was actually good for getting over her fears so she rolled with it.
"Yes, I should and at first I did but you protected me from my father. If you wanted to turn me you could have but you didn't. I mean if I wasn't an angel and I'd just been a psychic I'd probably still hung out with you. Given how I grew up and all. You're the first person to be nice to me in a long time. You make me feel good about myself and only a handful of people have actually managed that." she looked down from her position resting on top of him as they laid on the couch, "Rodney left. We thought it was safer for him to be elsewhere." she said gently as she looked down at him with a sad smile.

At Marina's comment of him looking good in a tux, he grinned. "I can pull one off," he responded. Then, "If you ever come across an occasion that requires it of me, I would do it for you."
At her agreement with his statement and her added statement of that he could have turned her, but didn't, he gave a little shrug. "There were times that I pondered turning you, but never seemed receptive to the idea, so I did not," he responded. Then, his eyes became gentle as she went on to say that he had protected her from her father and had been the first person to be nice to her, making her feel good about herself. "You are a wonderful girl and anyone who cannot see that is an idiot," he simply replied.
He resisted the urge to roll his eyes at the mention of Rodney. He did not care about him, even though Marina did. "I am glad he is safe for your sake," he told her. That much was true. Of course, if she had not been in the equation, he would not care about the boy other than whether or not he would make a good meal.

"I'll keep it in mind. I don't usually go to formal occasions any more since dad died." she admitted. It was expected she would stay home to mourn and heal so she was doing just that.
"Well I can't stand the sight of blood so I'd make a horrible vampire." she declared as she looked at him and grinned, "And I'd probably be the worst fledgliing in the world. You'd have to lock me up with my pheromones."
She nodded sadly, "Its for the best. It just hurts is all." she said gently as she regarded him quietly and hugged him tightly to drive out the feelings of Rodney. She didn't want to think about him or she'd call him and beg him to come back and she knew better than that.

Trenton nodded when Marina stated that she would keep what he said in mind and that she didn't go to many formal occasions since her father had died. "That is understandable. He was your father, and things are not the same as they used to be," Trenton responded.
When she commented on her queasiness and that it would make her a horrible vampire, Trenton chuckled. "Well, I would do my best to help you, but I can see your point," he told her. Vampires who could not feed did not tend to last long either dying or being killed fairly easily. Not something he would ever want to happen to Marina. "Yes, everything is heightened and that would most likely cause some problems for you," he commented when she stated that she would have to be locked up because of her pheromones.
Then, she hugged him and Trenton could tell that she was trying to drive out thoughts of the other boy. Normally, this would have pleased him greatly, but right now, he sensed that he could not be selfish with her. "It is all right to think of him, Bella. He is your friend and means a great deal to you," he assured.

"I just can't bear what people will think of me." she murmured as she looked into his eyes and hugged him.
"I think if I did become a fledgling you would protect me." she said with a nod, "Not that I would want to but I'd probably stick close to you or Diana." she hugged him tighter and closed her eyes feeling loneliness wash over her.
Then he said it was okay for her to think of Rodney, "It just hurts. I did the right thing and it hurts and I made you jealous and I didn't mean to and my heads all confused. I used to think I knew what was going on in my life and now its just a mess." she said softly as she clung to him.

At her murmur of not being able to bear what people thought of her, Trenton reached over to gently squeeze her shoulder. "You do not need to worry about what others may think. Your true friends love you for who you are," he told her. Oh, great. I am turning into a sap, he thought to himself. But, he didn't care. When it came to Marina, it just didn't matter how vulnerable or nice he made himself. He just wanted her to feel okay again.
When she went on to say that if she were a fledgling he would protect her, he nodded. "Yes, I would," he promised. He knew that she did not desire to become a vampire, so he would never turn her, but if it ever happened, he would do all he could to make the transition easier for her.
At her comment that it hurt even though it was the right thing and that she had made him jealous, he shook his head. "Do not even worry about that. You need to be taking care of yourself," he told her. At her statement that everything was a mess, he went to put his arms around her. "It is okay, Bela. I am here for you," he assured.

Smiling up at him she curled into his embrace and relaxed a bit more, he always seemed to know the right thing to say to make her feel better, "I'll try Trent. I don't know what I'd do without you to talk to." she said honestly as she looked up at him.
As odd as it felt she felt a sense of relief that was palateable as he said that. Not that she wanted to be a vampire, but if something happened and she was turned she wanted reassurance she wouldn't be alone.
She hugged him tightly as they laid there on the couch, clinging to him as she tried to get her emotions under control, "I'm sorry I'm such a mess. The doctors said its because of what happened. I just don't want to have any more nightmares. I hate them so much. I want to feel safe again." she said as she bit her lip and closed her eyes. Her body growing chilled a bit but hugging him fiercly to her. She may have felt a bit odd with everything but right now she needed all the friends she could have.

At Marina's comment that she would try and that she didn't know what she would do without him, he went to pull her even closer as she curled into him. "You will never have to find that out, Bella," he promised. He would never leave her unless she told him to. And even then, he would still keep an eye on her, though he would make sure that she did not find out.
His eyes clouded as she apologized for being such a mess and saying that the doctors said it was because of what happened and that she did not want to have any more nightmares. "You never have to apologize, Bella. Your feelings and your spirit is what I love the most about you," he told her. Then, "If you want, I can---take your memories---just of what happened---as well as the nightmares away." He was not convinced that she would agree to it, but he wanted to at least put the offer out there.

"Good. You make me feel safe." she said softly to him, happy as he hugged her tighter. "I like it when you hold me." she said shyly to him. She didn't want him being embarrassed or anything but she was one of those people that loved to cuddle. It helped calm her.
"I'll think about it. I think just being around you will help." she said softly as she looked into his eyes, "Lets let things settle the old fashioned way before we try anything mentally, okay?" she said softly as she rested her head on his chest and relaxed on top of him. Her heart beat slowed and her mental state calmed itself as she looked at him, "Thank you for trying to cheer me up with the bite. It feels really good when you do that." she blushed crimson to admit it but she'd always been honest with Trent and right now with how her life was going she needed him desperately in her life. Her confidence was shattered and he helped her just by being there.

Trenton smiled when Marina told him that he made her feel safe and that she liked it when he held her. "And I want you to feel safe and I like holding you," he told her. He knew that she had added the second part softly because she did not want to embarrass him...as if that could ever happen. "I like it when you tell me things like that," he added.
When Marina said that she would think about it and that him being with her was helping so she would like to wait before doing anything mental. "Of course. I understand. Whatever makes you the happiest," he replied, listening to her heart rate slow. Then, in response to her thank you for trying to cheer her up, "You are welcome. I trust I was successful?"

She nodded happily and tried to relax a bit more in his arms as the movie played on completely unwatched by either of them. "I'll try to let you know things like that more often." she said finally as she looked at him through half lidded eyes. She didn't want to have to think right now and the medication they had her on to stabilize her was making her sleepy.
"I enjoy it when you bite me it feels good. she said shyly as she looked away shyly, "Its not healthy for me to like it but I do. Is it normal to like it like that or am I weird?" she asked him as she finally looked him in the eyes, her cheeks red as she regarded him quietly.
