Trenton nodded as Marina told him that he had fed from her so many times that they were bound to get on the same wavelength eventually. "Yes. I suppose that is true," he mused. She had a point. He had to chuckle when she winked and reassured him that she wasn't very good at it and had to concentrate in order for it to happen. He frowned at the mention of her father, but said nothing. He didn't want to upset her.
When Marina mentioned a visit from an acquaintance of her father's Trenton's eyes flashed. She did not need to be bothered by anyone who knew Reginald, especially if Reginald hadn't even trusted him. Corvin Blake. He mentally filed the name away. "I will talk to Diana and see what she recommends. If he is as old and as dangerous as you say, we may need to gather up some help to take care of him," he told the girl.
"I thought maybe we could put on a movie. Anything you would like," he answered when she asked him what he had planned next. Then, "I am glad that you have other people looking out for you since I cannot always be here to protect you, Bella. But if you ever start to feel uncomfortable there, you can come to stay with me." The truth was, he didn't like the idea of other men living with Marina. Not because he was old-fashioned by any means, but because she was his girl and he did not want any others to know her better than he did. However, he also knew that she needed the support of her friends and needed to be around people she trusted. And he would never take that away from her. Never.

She rested her head against him and relaxed. Her eyes half lidded and content now that she had some food in her stomach. She was starting to feel like things were somewhat back to normal. Hugging Trent on the couch seemed rather boring to some but it gave her something she knew. Something solid.
"I don't know him. I just know my father said to be wary of him. So far he hasn't done anything untoward that I could call him on." she admitted softly, she looked up into his eyes, "I think he knows that trifling with me would be bad for his continued existence.
"A movie would be good so long as its not a horror movie. she said, feeling lazy as she curled against him, "Its nice to have friends around. she agreed. Her thoughts were content as she let her mind drift. Images of Logan, shirtless bouncing a ball while she ate lunch, and Cruise bringing home lunch and chatting with her came to her mind. Interspersed with those with Jayla, Claire, Everette and Ashley. "Oh I wouldn't want to cramp your style." she demurred gently. She knew he needed his space and she didn't want to crowd him. "I'm happy just visiting." she admitted. He could always visit her at Diana's he wasn't likely to be disturbed there either as Diana tended to be out a lot of the time.

Trenton stared down at Marina who had her eyes closed and he smiled softly. She looks so pretty and peaceful, he thought to himself. His brows furrowed when Marina said that she didn't know Corvin but that her father had wanted her to be wary of him. "Well, as paranoid as Reginald was, his instincts were usually right on the mark," he stated. He then chuckled when she said that the man knew that if he messed with her, it wouldn't be good for him. "No it would not, as I would kill him...if Diana didn't beat me to it first," he responded.
Trenton smiled again as Marina mentioned that a movie would be fine as long as it wasn't a horror movie. "I believe I have some non-horror movies. Why don't you go look at my DVD collection and see what you would prefer as I do not wish to choose a movie that you would not enjoy," he suggested. Yes, he knew her fairly well, but he wasn't really sure what she was in the mood for. "Yes, it is," he said in agreement of her statement that it was nice to have friends around.
He shook his head when she said that she wouldn't want to cramp his style and that she was happy just visiting. "You could never cramp my style, Bella," he assured. The idea was ludicrous. She was the yin to his yang, the one person who kept him from shutting his humanity completely off. Before he had met her, the idea of letting his humanity show would have appalled him. But now...now it did not seem so bad...as long as it was just her who saw his humanity and no one else.

"You and the killing, honestly." she cracked an eye and tickled his ribs with a mischievious smile on her face. "Sometimes the answer is cake you know." quoting Eddie Izzard. She didn't know if he was actually ticklish but she was going to find out!
"That involves moving." she pouted as she looked up at him and slowly got to her feet, "Lets watch this its got angels in it." she said as she picked out The Fallen and it had a picture of a man that looked a lot like Trent on the cover, "He's got to be related to you. No way those eyebrows showed up on just anyone." she quipped as she put the movie in and curled up with him, "So...I have something to tell you. And I hope you like it cause if you don't well it would make me sad..." she said after a few moments as she looked at him. "And its kind of important to me so you need to know about it."
"Oh trust me. What I have to tell you may put a crimp in your plans, Trent." she said with a sigh as she looked into his eyes, "It turns out I'm not just a cupid. I'm...an arch angel. I am supposed to wander the world giving beings hope. That's kind of my job. Well that and helping people fall in love but... yeah. I could show you my wings but I'm not sure if you wanna see them."

Trenton smiled when Marina made a crack about him and killing as she poked him, going on to state that sometimes the answer was cake. "I...do not think so," Trenton responded, trying to figure out if she was making a pop culture reference that he had missed. After all, even though he had been around a while, one could not expect him to know all the big trends...especially if he was bent on taking over a city.
He watched as Marina got up and picked out a DVD that had some human who looked strikingly identical to him, something which Marina mentioned. "Well, I do not remember much about my human life, but if I had a twin the only way he could be alive today was if he was a vampire like myself," he responded.
When Marina said that she had something important to tell him, he turned from the movie and back to the girl. "You can tell me anything, Bella, you know that," he assured her. Then, Trenton could feel his eyes widening in surprise. She was not only a Cupid but an Archangel? "How are you doing with this?" he checked. She must be feeling so overwhelmed right now, he thought to himself.

"Its a pop culture reference." she murmured as she looked at him and stretched gently before rising and bringing the movie over to the DVD player and starting it up.
"Again, I'm teasing you." she said as she hugged him lightly and looked into his eyes, "I'm going to have to remind you to have fun aren't I?" she said not realizing how that could be taken.
""I don't want you to be mad at me." she said as she bit her lip and looked at him, "I'm so out of my depth here I don't know what to do." she said as she quietly looked over at him with worry.

Trenton nodded when Marina explained that it had been a pop culture reference. He had figured as much. Then, he rolled his eyes when she told him that she had just been teasing. "Of course. I should've known," he muttered, and then laughed when she said that she would have to remind him to have fun. "Most likely," he surmised.
When she admitted to being out of her depth and unsure of what to do, Trenton went to put his arms around her. "It will be all right, Bella. I will be here whenever you need me," he murmured.

"You should smile. I know it might not be in your nature but I like to see you smile." she said softly as she looked at him and smiled softly, "I don't want you to feel so conflicted. I'd never expect you to be something you're not for me." she gently touched his face and leaned against him lightly.
"That means a lot to me, Trent. You're one of the one constants in my life. I don't know how I'd get through this without you." she leaned her head against his shoulder, "I won't ever be able to pay you back." she said softly, her bite showing to him as she rested against him gently.

Trenton chuckled when Marina told him that he should smile more. "Ah, but you remember I have a reputation to uphold. Any smile I give will be just for you, Bella," he told her. As she told him that she didn't want him to be conflicted because of her or his nature, she reached up and touched his face, and Trenton gave a contented growl. Oh, great. I have turned into a teddy bear, he thought to himself as she leaned into him. Not that he cared that much. After all, Marina was the only one who would ever see this side of him.
"I am glad I can be one of your constants, Bella," Trenton murmured. "You must not feel that you need to repay me. You do not," he assured her, as she rested against him. "Rest, Bella. Rest," he murmured.

"There is so much more to smile about than me" she said softly as she looked up at him, "I know you have things that you do that aren't pleasant and that you don't tell me about but when you don't have to do those things You can find joy in the small things." she said to him as she tried to make him see there was more than just going through the motions, "I may need to go away from time to time but I will come back. You helped me in ways you don't even know. You gave me hope and after everyone has left you're still here and that means something to me. I want you to know that."
"I want you to know how important you are. You matter to me. I don't want you to feel so alone, Trent." she looked into his eyes, "If you ever need or want me to heal you just ask. I won't do it unless you say its okay though. But I know its hard for you. I've felt your pain. I have faith you'll figure it out, Trent. The world is so big and there is so much to it. You don't have to be alone any more unless you want to be. I just am trying to figure things out but I'm here for you too. I mean I can't....well I'm not ready I can't..." she shuddered, "Well you know...but I'll try to listen and just be here for you. We can watch movies or whatever..." she said sleepily against him as he purred, "I'm glad I'm not the only one that purrs here." she smiled into his shoulder.

Trenton wasn't sure how to respond to Marina's comment that there were other things besides her to smile about. He had not seen much for him to smile about. But Marina though...everything about her made him want to smile...as corny as it sounded. He did appreciate the fact that she understood that he would sometimes have to do things that she would consider unpleasant.
The vampire frowned a bit when she mentioned going away at times, but he tried not to show his displeasure at the thought. "Of course. There will be times when you will desire to either not be around highly charged emotions or may just need a different type of calming influence. I completely understand, Bella," he assured. And he did understand. It could not be easy constantly picking up other people's thoughts or emotions. "I will always be here for you, Bella," he assured in response to her comment of appreciation that he was still there.
Trenton fell silent as Marina went on to say that he was important to her. Important to her? But why? he wondered. It had been a long time since someone outside of his species had even thought about him that away and it had been just as long since he had cared. Trenton refocused his attention on Marina as she made an offer to heal him if he ever desired her to and then went on to state that she had faith in him.
Trenton chuckled when Marina commented on him growling. "What can I say? You tend to bring it out of me," he told her.

She curled into him more as he started to relax, her eyes going half lidded as he seemed to relax inwardly. Resting against him as the movie played and she felt him puzzling things out.
"Well its not that. Its more my job keeps me busy, Trent. I mean I pretty much assume you'll visit when you can so thats not a problem. I'm just meaning my cupid duties and such." she stretched out on the couch and smiled, "I like spending time with you."
"Right now that means a lot, Trent. Thank you." she kissed his cheek not knowing if he still had blood in his mouth, before using him as a quasi pillow.
She laughed softly, "Its kinda sexy when its not your angry growl. Makes my toes curl." Sighing happily she relaxed against him.

Trent nodded in understanding when Marina explained that she had been talking about her duties as a cupid and that she knew that he visited when he was able. Then, his smile grew when she told him that she liked spending time with him. "I like spending time with you as well," he agreed.
Marina's response to his statement that he'd always be there for her was a thank you and a kiss on his cheek. Then, he had to chuckle when she said that his growl was sexy and curled her all the way to her toes. "I will admit, no one has ever said that to me before," he responded.

She chuckled softly and curled into him a bit more. He worried a lot about how folks saw him but the reality was all she knew was that he did his best. Granted, some days it was aggrieving but he tried. Her body relaxed as she sat there with him and the movie went by. She was more focused on him, "Well that's always good to know. I wouldn't expect the vampire king to make a sandwich for just anyone." she said with a teasing grin.
"I was raised by a vampire. Some of my upbringing was that. It means that things I find attractive sometimes key in more with what you are. Plus I'm empathic so it causes a reaction." she said as she looked at him, "Plus its just sexy."

As Marina relaxed against him, Trenton found himself doing the same. It wasn't often that he let his guard down, as he usually saw it as allowing himself to be vulnerable. Which was something he loathed. And yet, with Marina, he didn't mind it so much. After all, it allowed him to truly cherish her.
He rolled his eyes as she made a comment about not wanting him to make a sandwich for just anybody. "More likely than not, they would be the sandwich," he reminded. Something tells me I will not be able to live this down...especially if Diane hears about this, he thought to himself. Then he gave a mental shrug. What did he care in the grand scheme of things?
Then Marina went on to say that she had been raised by a vampire and was used to what came with it and that part of who he was was attractive to her and that it was also part of her abilities causing a reaction. Hmm. That's a good point, Trenton thought to himself. Then he chuckled as she added that it was just sexy.
"Well, how can I argue with that?" he murmured. He glanced over at the screen. "I think we've missed half of the movie, Love," he told her.
