So here she was in her jeans and hoodie waiting for what dad called a "personal shopper" she rolled her eyes and sighed. It never occured to him that maybe she wore boring clothes to keep him from looking at her or to cover her bruises. It was hard to be a fashionista when you had a dad like hers.
She blew a curl out of her eyes and sagged a bit. Her hair looked fabulous and so did her makeup but she still felt uncomfortable. A personal shopper was going to mean more questions and she so did not need that right now. She looked at the decorative fountain and checked her watch. Her dad said this "April" was going to be here soon.

April swayed her hips slightly, as she happily made her way into the shopping centre and toward the girl she needed to take shopping. It was a perfect way to befriend her, she hoped and honestly, she would never say 'no' to a chance of shopping. Especially now that she was working for Reginald, which made her afford a much better clothing choice, which she was careful not to over use or take her chances on.
It was lucky that she was in a good mood as well, as this made her often way more friendly than when she was not in a good mood. Maybe it was because of the night she spend with Reginald, sleeping with someone like him, always lifted her spirits very much so. When she spotted Mari, near the fountain, she smiled and walked closer, letting her heels click-clack on the floor. "You must be Marina." She greeted with a smile, that was sincere, even for her.
The girl looked nice, even though her father was right and that she really did need someone to take her shopping. Marina had the money for it, so wnhy not use it? It was a question she wasn't sure she'd get an answer on, or whether or not she wanted to know the answer to it. If she did know the answer, which she knew she would, eventually, it could change her way of thinking and she wasn't the most rational creature on the planet, truth be told.

"Hi! I'm Marina." Marina said as she got up and offered her hand to the young woman, "You must be April." She said as she stretched and looked at the other woman, "You've got your work cut out with me but you look like someone who is up for the challenge." she admitted as she stepped away from the fountain, "My leg braces make things tricky and dad tends to forget about them." she laughed softly and began moving slowly, her gate causing her to wish her hips without even trying.
"So, I'm in your hands, April where do you think we should go?" she said as she looked around and then pushed her glasses up as she regarded the fire demoness, "I'm really psyched about this. Its so easy to get caught up in work and other stuff. You have no idea how much shopping therapy I need right now." she shook her head and smiled trying to shake off her worries about Trenton. If he was gone then she needed to try and move on even if it hurt her heart. "As long as I don't look like a total stranger I'll be happy. I love bright colors and patterns." she admitted as she tried to give the other woman something to work with.

April smiled and shook the young woman's hand. "Yes, that's me." She said cheerfully. When she heard what Marins said, she smiled. "I love a challenge, but by the looks of it, you wouldn't mind too much if I'd take you shopping." She nodded about the leg braces and bit her lip slightly, thinking about that one. "We'll figure something out." She then decided.
"Well, we can start by buying you a nice piece of jeans, because I think it's smarter for you to wear pants than a skirt. Of course it has to fall wide, but I'm sure we can find something nice for you." April said, with a smile, as she looked around, listening to what she said about what she liked. "I'll keep those in mind. I think soft colors would suit you ery nicely, too. And shopping is always nice, I don't think you need a reason for that, but I will try to keep your mind occupied." She smiled and softly pulled her along to their first destination. They would just have to see what they would end up with.

Laughing softly she grinned at April, "Its always nice to see what other folks think you should wear. Its sort of like re imagining yourself." she said with a contented shrug, "I could certainly use the confidence boost." she said as she regarded the other woman with a thoughtful look, taking in her wardrobe as she moved with her, "I tend not to wear pastels but I'm not adverse to them. Its just murphy's law that says any time I wear them is when I get to work in the children's area of the library and end up getting paint or marker on me." she said with a chuckle as they made their way through the mall.
She still felt sad. It was just so hard on her heart right now. She didn't know how her Aunt Diana felt but she still felt bad for thinking of someone her aunt liked as if he was someone she could crush on. Then there was this mess with Rodney and her dad and her head was just spinning. How was it possible to be pulled in so many directions and not truely feel wanted by anyone? Rodney was helping her because he was a nice guy. That was all. Her father felt he was doing the right thing by keeping her cooped up and her Aunt...well she didn't know what she thought but it probably wasn't good.
Maybe this shopping trip would help her look better so she felt better about herself. She may not be able to compete with a vampire on any level but at least she could look darn good. It was a small comfort but she clung to it. "Where do you want to go first?" she asked her as she looked about herself with curiosity once her wool gathering was done.

April smiled. "Well, I just like shopping and shopping with people along is twice the fun." She told her, feeling light-hearted and happy to be doing anything girly. "Then I'll make sure to boost it lots." She promised, with a smile. She saw how Marina took in her clothing choice and nodded, with a laugh, kind of understanding that. "I think you should look at your skin-tone, too. you have a fairly light skin, so, I'd say warm colors are better, but soft blues and pinks can do wonders too."
It was true that it had started out as something she had agreed on with Reginald, but it was also a great way to get to know her more. Besides that, being a demon, kind of became lonely. Sometimes she even missed her brother, the one she had a grudge on; Zachary. Sometimes it just seemed idiot, to have a grudge against him, over something like ADHD, that their parents had to spend money on, but April had never been the forgiving type.
"Well, I forgot the name of the store, but I'm first taking you to buy a jeans." She said, looking at her, slightly inspecting her own warderobe. "Although I like your clothing, wearing a hoodie is both comfortable AND can be fashionable, if worn right. I also keep reminding myself and others that you don't need to look sexy to look good. You just need to wear what you like and of course what fits you nicely."

Moved slowly besides the other woman, just listening to her talk and trying to get a feel for her. She didn't want to upset her or accidentally mention a touchy subject. There was something about a brother that brought some negative emotions with it. Best to avoid that topic then. "I guess I could see that." she agrees readily, "Lets just see what the colors of the season are and work from there." she nodded as she moved along and they approached the first store. The woman was taking all this in stride and it helped. She had moments where the world seemed so distant and like she stood apart from it like a silent observer. She'd been told it was her PTSD and that at some point it would fade but thus far it hadn't.
"I don't wear hoodies because I like them." she said softly as she opened the door and slipped deeper into the shoppe that looked like it had some cute jeans. "Lets see what they have, maybe I can find a light jean jacket here too." she murmured softly as she saw piles of denim in all sorts of styles and colors. Distressed, natural fit, boot cut. Definately better to go for boot cut. She wouldn't be able to get anything else over her braces. She made her way over to the boot cut section and looked back to see how close April was.

April smiled and nodded. "Well, summer's coming around, so i say reds and oranges and greens and blues, maybe?" She offered, as she looked at her, while walking to the store. She found it important to shop for something that Marina liked. It wasn't nice at all to be forced clothes on you, but she had promised Reginald too, to dress the girl a little bit nicer.
April's eyes darkened a little, as she figured easily what she meant. "I get it." She told her softly. She followed her into the store and smiled a little, looking around too. "Well, I'm sure they do." She said, looking around. She followed her to the boot-cut section and looked at Marina questioningly, to see if she had found anything nice. Meanwhile, she looked around too, until she saw a piece and held it up. "This one?"

"Sounds about right, April." she nods and looks in the windows, "Luckily I like those colors." she grins and pulls out a pair of jeans with roses down the side, "Too much or do you think they work?" she held up the pair next to her and looked at the size.
She glanced at the pair that April held up, "Oh those are nice." she agreed as she looked them over quietly and smiled "I think those are going in the keep pile." She placed them in the cart and then went moving over to another set. "I do need to get some dress slacks for work as well but something for classes would be nice." she looked over at another set that were in the mid range of color, "This would go well with pastels." she said as she moved over to it and touched them lightly with her hand as she looked for input.

”That’s good, I wouldn’t want you to walk in any colors you don’t like even though your Dad may think otherwise.” April said, as she shrugged slightly. She looked at the jeans and let her eyes trace the roses. ”I like the roses.” she, as she looked. ”Take it right to the keep pile, I’d say. We can totally work with that one.” It wasn’t hard to figure out, that April was getting more and more excited, the more they worked through the clothes at hand.
April followed her with the cart and nodded, to let her know that she’d keep both in mind. As they worked through the clothes and April felt she had succeeded on shopping for something both Marina and her father would like. She smiled as she looked at her. ”I think we succeeded quite nicely, we should go shopping more often, I like it.” Well, she liked Marina. More than she had expected anyway. ”Want to go eat or drink something? My treat.”

Smiling slightly Mari let April guide her through her choices. They had some different views on color and cut at times but once they hashed it out they had come to decisions on the pieces that there had been some debate on. Mari knew when to stand up for herself and she also was of the opinion that clothes weren't worth getting into debates over so she just relaxed and enjoyed the moment.
Marina smiled genuinely, "I've enjoyed it as well. Thank you, April. I'm really having a good time." she said with sincerity in her voice. "And I am so famished right now I could eat a horse. Where did you want to go for dinner? She asked as they collected bags and made their way through the mall. It was so nice to not have to worry about someone and how they thought of her or how her family was viewed. She sometimes felt like she was always on display and it drove her nuts.
