After everything was said and done Robert whisked her away to an empty room. Her first reaction was to freak out however, feeling vulnerable without her powers. She fled to the corner of the room like a frightened animal, curling up into a ball, and looking up at Robert with a horrified expression. She didn't even understand why she had lived this long already, he knew now what she had done to him, yet here he was taking the role of morally untouchable good guy. Moving her from that room had saved her from Connor, but now was just going to be subject to his wrath as well?
She could do almost nothing except stare at her own hands, the world had grown so much quieter now that she was no longer a vampire. The even bigger problem? Her Telepathy was gone now, she could no longer tell what he was thinking as they sat in this room. It was a new feeling, after four hundred years, to feel fear. It made her feel alive, yet it was so overwhelming at first that she actually believed that she was in pain from it.
"Robert.. I.." she started, unsure what to say to him now that the cat was out of the bag. She knew she couldn't ask him to understand however, that was completely out of the question. Instead, she decided to try at least to do whatever she could. "I can never make up for what I've done.. I know that.." she said, almost choking on the words. She sighed heavily, another new sensation that startled her as something actually came of it. "I didn't choose to become that monster, but that doesn't excuse what I let it do.." she said growing quiet.
"Why did you save me from them? You could have killed me, you could have let them do it. I don't deserve your mercy or this life." she said, shaking her head. She turned her hands over and over as she marveled at them, so fragile in comparison to the hands that once crushed throats and tore doors off of their hinges. As much as she had to work out in her own head, she secretly knew that there was another reason she was alive; spite. She was no one now, had nothing, and did not exist. Life for her would be a hell in it's self, and from where she was sititng she would be mad to expect Roberts help.
"I love you, you know that. But my love drove me to do irrational things as a vampire, I was broken before it was done to me, and I inflicted that pain on others. I never wanted you to feel like this.. ever." she said, talking however she had no idea if he was truly even listening to what she said. "I should probably go.. shouldn't I?" she asked, knowing he would probably say yes, but hoping that the answer was different. She would spend the rest of her life trying to make this right if she could.

"No, it doesn't." he said quietly with that voice that meant he was trying to control his urges. Though what they were could be anyones guess. She knew of course. She'd been there egging him on the whole time when he'd given in to temptation before the rush had died down to a dull roar and the whole buchering humans had gotten boring.
That was the reality of it. Cold as it was there was only so many times you could string a human up by their entrials because he was a rapist or a pedophile. Robert would still go out and make the streets safer when he was frustrated but he was no longer sneaking into prisons and terrifying serial killers. They usually pissed themselves like the cowards they were. Just like Anne was scared now. It sickened him.
"I saved you because I didn't know what I wanted to do to you and why should I let my daughter stain her soul with your death?" there was a grim smile forming his features as he looked at her and realized she couldn't read his thoughts. "I could ask Noah to finish you off. You know too much about vampires Anne. You will probably have no peace the minute it gets out what happened to you."
"LOVE?!?!" he roared the word and punched a hole in the wall to keep from throttling her to death, "You buchered my wife and unborn son. How DARE you speak of love. You know NOTHING of the word." he moved forward with vampiric speed and pulled her upright gentle still in spite of his rage or possibly because of it, "You spin lies like a spider spins a web to catch the unwary you don't even comprehend the magnitude of what you've done. You have done NOTHING good in your life Anneliese. You're no better than a serial killer who claims they found God in their final hours in order to get a stay of execution." He released her and turned his back on her.
"You need to go now before I kill you. You are not welcome here any more. I suggest you leave before my other nieces and nephew come home. Tana is likely to torture you to death for killing his parents and I'd let him." he shook with repressed rage, "My family will not suffer for you any more. You will leave them alone and go. And after I clean this place up I intend on seeing the sunrise." It was meant to scare her. He said it with such conviction she might believe it and she would never know otherwise.

Every part of her body screamed to flee, she hated it for that, she used to be so fearless. Now in the face of death all she wanted to do was run, scream, and find somewhere for her to hide. The idea sickened her at first, until she realized that she would be bogged down with instincts like this. She was no longer the killer, the monster, she was far from the top of the food chain now. If he willed it, Robert could have broken her in half right now, and she wouldn't even bother trying to stop him from doing so. She deserved it, she knew that, as she had broken his wife in this very house.
"You're right, you shouldn't let her stain her soul. But you denied Connor the chance to finish it, he's going to be angry. He can't help himself, out of the two of you, he was more like me than he wanted to admit." she said, sighing softly. By even mentioning his name, she felt like she would bring about her own death. If he heard her speaking about him, it was bound to cause the blood in Connor's veins to come to a boil. "Come on Robert, you know as well as I do he has a disturbing reverance for mortal life. I am human now, but because of who I was, he would most likely leave me be." she said, shaking her head.
"If you want me dead, you're going to have to do it, it's that simple." she said as she uncurled herself and stood. Though she quickly jumped backwards, out of her own skin basically, as Robert smashed his fist through the wall. She struck a nerve, she figured she would, but she had always felt love in her own twisted way. Now that she was mortal, she felt this hollow, empty feeling as she looked on him, feeling that she could never have who she wanted now. "I am aware of what I have done. A terrible wrong was done to me and I turned around and did it to you. I can never take it back Robert! Don't you think I know this? I've always known this! But I was.. I am sick! I can't help myself.." she said quietly.
Anne felt like that was an excuse, but during her psychotic breaks as a Vampire, there was nothing that could have stopped her. She had no inhibitions when she was like that, no morales. "I was turned into this monster, this killer. If I had a choice, if I'd ever had a choice, I would have died rather than hurt you.." she said, holding her head in her hands. She was crying now? Great, what other emotion would this wretched human body force upon her before this was over?
Shaking her head, Anne sighed softly. "I will go, but before I do, I have to say.." she said, trailing off. "You can't go into the light, Robert. Your family still needs you, I have taken everything from them, don't you become me and take all that is left.." she said, was she angry now? She couldn't figure this out, it was like an emotional yo-yo with a terrible recoil. "Even if you wanted to die, you won't find it easy, my blood will protect you for awhile, and then you'll probably lose heart when you feel the intensity of the pain." she said, moving to cautiously walk past him.
"I'm so sorry Robert.." she said once more, shaking her head, before she opened the door and tried to run.

"Right now I just want you gone. You always were a braggart, Anne and you are going to pay for it one day." he snapped at her. If it was one thing Robert had it was control.
"Mental illness is no excuse! If you want I can have you committed. Would being locked away in a hospital ward where the orderlies assault you be any better a punishment than throwing your ass on the street? Because I can do that you know. I can have them lock you away for a very very long time, Anne. I can make you confess to murdering my wife and you would sing like a canary and no one would bat an eye about your damned mental illness because of the nature of the crime."
"But you didn't. You chose to butcher people like cattle so you called them. They didn't matter only you mattered because inherantly you are a selfish bitch Anne and you always have been. Oh now you cry because you feel the first tinges of remorse, but where was that remorse when you murdered babies and families? Where was the remorse when you left one person to die without their loved ones to mourn them? I'll tell you, conveniently pushed aside. You called me weak but you're the one that is truly weak. Even now you're trying to goad me into doing something so you can get the upper hand. Well it won't work."
He remained silent and refused to speak to her. His gaze ice cold as he watched her leave. She'd be hunted down by someone he was sure. She was too cocky not to be. he should have felt strong and powerful, but he just felt sick. Hours after she was gone he'd drop to his knees and let out a howl for his loss, the wife he'd never gotten to grow old with. The son he'd never see grow to adulthood. The pain of nearly endangering his family and losing them all to a woman who never knew love to begin with.

"Then I will leave. I would rather not add fuel to the flames." she said, her voice weak. What was this nonsense? Was she honestly about to cry right here in front of him? She couldn't allow herself to do that, she would betray everything she once stood for. Did any of that matter anymore though? She was now this new person, she had given Robert, however made at her he was, her word. She was going to be a different person now, she had a chance to make up for the wrongs. She couldn't fix Robert's life, their life together, but she could help other people.
Her mind however lingered on him, how much it would hurt to be away from him, how bad she had messed up. Anne thought she had it all figured out, until she realized she was no longer the game master, she was the sucker being played by fate. Gathering herself, she sighed softly, "I will go collect what few things I actually own then.." she said, cautiously starting to move in his direction. "But whether or not you believe it, even if you hate me forever, until the day I die.. I will keep my promise." she said, walking out of the room.
She was sure he would know what that was, the promise she made a few nights ago before they shared their souls. Collecting her clothes from their old room, she made her way back up the stairs. Opening the front door, she would walk out into the night air, confused, scared, and alone. This must have been how all the people she had hurt felt, oh god, how she deserved this. Where would she go? She was no one, she didn't even exist anymore, she was a dead woman. Life was about to become alot more interesting than she could have ever bargained for.
