Lily snarled at her car as it choked and died on the side of the road. "Christ sake," She muttered, glad that she had noticed something was wrong and had yanked the car on the side of the road. She popped the hood and hopped out of the car. She didn't know cars that well, but she thought she might be able to at least figure out what it was doing. If not...
"Stupid car," She muttered as she lifted the latch to the hood and raised it above her head. She stared at the engine, reached in and fiddled with it. She wasn't sure what was wrong, exactly, but what she did know was that she needed to get it started long enough to get it to the nearest shop. She lifted her head and looked around, then groaned softly.
Xzavier's shop was closest to her.
"Okay, car, I really dislike you now." She lowered the hood, slamming it shut before she hopped back into the car. She knew she had managed to fix it enough to get it started.
It did start, and she pulled back into traffic to drive the two, short blocks to Xzavier's garage. She pulled it up just outside in the small parking lot, then turned the car off and took the keys as she climbed out and up to the shop. Her stomach was jittering, and she felt like a stupid female. Their last meeting was... Odd to say the least. He had told her that he was afraid she was going to get hurt, confessed he still cared for her, but they hadn't really seen each other since then. Part of her dreaded seeing him again, but a stronger part yearned to see him again.
She walked into the door at the side of the shop and stepped in, looking around for him. She saw him, under a car across the garage. She just paused and watched him for a moment, deep in his work. She didn't know if he'd even realized she'd stepped in. "You too busy for a walk in?" Lily asked, leaning one shoulder against a wall to look casual, even if she didn't feel it. Her hair tumbled over one shoulder, and her dark eyes stared right at what she could see of him, which was his feet. "I don't think I could make it anywhere else if you are."

Xzavier blew out a breath as he worked on the car. It had been a long day, car after car had come in. At least his shift was almost over. After this car, he could go home, drink a beer and relax. Or think about Lily if you listened to anything his brothers said. But that was ridiculous. The only time he ever thought about Lily was when he had to keep her safe. It was dangerous to think of her otherwise. He didn't want anything to happen to her. That was why he had steered cleared of her before and after their conversation.
Footsteps coming into the shop broke Xzavier from his reverie. "Yeah, I'll be with you in a minute!" he called from his position. Then, he heard it. Her voice. She asked if they were too busy for a walk-in and then stated that she wasn't sure if she could make it anywhere else. With a sigh, Xzavier pushed himself out from underneath the car and stood up. "No, we're not too busy," he replied in a professional tone. "What exactly went wrong with it?" he questioned in the same tone.

Lily watched as Xzavier seemed to stiffen, then slowly he came out from under the car and stood. She watched him for a moment, as he talked in a professional voice, telling her that they weren't too busy, and asked what it was doing.
"Well, it's dying," She said, as her lips turned up in a slow smile. "My knowledge with cars begins with starting it, and ends with me knowing how to do the most basic of things with the engine. You know that." She tilted her head back towards where she parked the car in the lot. She wanted to ask him to drop the professional tone he was taking, or better yet to just go over to him and make him stop, but she didn't move from where she leaned against the wall, one hand on her hip and the other hanging at her side.
She raised one eyebrow at him, as if asking 'Well are you just going to stand there?' and pushed herself off the wall. "I can bring the car in here if you want."

From the look on her face, Xzavier could tell that Lily wanted him to drop his professional tone, but he couldn't. If he dropped his guard with it, it'd be disastrous for her, no matter how much he just wanted to hold her and kiss her again. He just couldn't do that. He'd never risk her getting hurt. However, he did allow himself a small grin when she reminded him that she only knew how to start the car and do basic maintainance on it. Ah, yes. I remember, he recalled. "Well, if it's dying on ya, let's see if we can give it a little CPR and save its life," he stated. "Yeah, bringing the car in would be great. Thanks," he added, remembering to sound business-like. It was taking all of his will-power to refrain from grabbing her, pushing her against the wall, and kissing her soundly. His eyes clouded in confusion as he gave himself a mental shake. What was wrong with him? He usually had better control over his emotions like this. Come on, man. Get a grip, he chided himself. He was still fighting vampires, werewolves, demons, and such. He couldn't run the risk of him getting someone he cared about killed. She'd haunt his butt and he'd never forgive himself. He let out a small sigh as he tried to will away the memories of their time together.

Lily wasn't sure why, but she had a strong urge to go to Xzavier and just jump into his arms. She frowned, but nodded when he said to bring the car in. She pushed herself into motion, annoyed with herself. "Jesus Lily stop being a love-struck female," She muttered to herself as she moved outside. She climbed into her midnight black car and started it up, scowling when it protested. "Come on," She murmered to the car, and let out a short sigh of relief when the engine caught. She backed out of her parking spot, then drove it to the doors of the garage which were hanging wide open. She slid the car inside, and turned the engine back off, reaching and pulling on her hood release.
"There you go," She said as she climbed out, leaving the keys in the ignition. Who was going to run off with her car in a shop? She shut the door, and leaned against it, eyeing Xzavier through her long lashes. "Now we can figure out why this bucket hates me." She frowned a little at her car. The car was a newer model, but it always seemed to need maintenance. Stupid lemons.
