It had been the longest eighteen hours of his life, it was like the entire city went mad. People were coming in with burns from car accidents, people shot, stabbed, or trampled by people fleeing. He didn't get to hear exactly what happened as he was too busy working over time trying to get each patient he could set up after they came out of surgery. It was pretty crazy and to make matters worse he was stuck with some of the new nurses who were clueless as to how he did things or where everything was just yet. Checking his watch, Logan wondered how long until he could get someone who had a head on their shoulders to come in, maybe Sienna.
"Come back anytime Doctor Yummy pants" said an elderly woman as he left the room, causing Logan to blink. That was a new one he thought to himself, trying his hardest not to break down into a hysterical laugh as he left. It was true that he had alot of admirers, patients and nurses alike. It made things a bit tense especially with Colin behind the front desk who seemed to have a thing for Sienna. He felt like he didn't have a shot as long as Logan was around, even if he never made any move on her. The problem was in the fact that he was well built, six foot four, and a doctor.
"Sienna on yet? We're getting slaughtered up here." he said, dropping several clipboards onto the desk as leaned over to grab a form. When the reply was no, he wrinkled his nose, sighing. He was running on fumes after this shift, eighteen hours wasn't exactly a picnic. There were times where he had gone and crashed in an empty room until another patient needed the bed. That was also when he noticed that Marina was back in the hospital again. Taking the chart for himself, he flipped through it trying to figure out why. Apparently it was an appointment to discuss her surgery and get her meds all sorted out for that.
Logan walked away from the desk, but not before leaving a message. "If Sienna's on anytime soon, tell her I'm looking for her." he said. They never really talked much, he just knew she was good at her job, and she was only here for a little less time than some of the nurses he did know. After that he made his way into Marina's room, her chart open as he gave one of his pearly white smiles. "We really have to stop meeting like this." he said, they were always pretty friendly with each other which was important to him as a doctor. He took the time to get to know people, rather than just diagnose, treat, and release.

Sienna smiled at her phone as she hung up and walked into the hospital. She liekd working, even when people thought she was absolutely crazy to even remotely like it, but she did. Even if that made her a workoholic. And today specifically, she had been called in to help, because things went mad.. Again. Hey, it was LA, what did people expect? That it was all rainbows and butterflies? If that was the case, she wouldn't have a job, probably.
"Colin, am I late? Please tell me I'm not late." she saw him shake his head and she sighed in relief as she lowered her bag, said a quick 'thank you' and went to the dressing room, to change in her nurse outift. It was actually an easy and most of all nice-fitting outfit, which she was happy about, because it made working a little bit more comfortable. When she got dressed, she walked back to the desk with Colin after it - it started to seem as if he worked her 24/7, not that she was complaining on how good he was at his job. She asked him for a chart and when he told her Logan asked for her, she nodded. "Thank you.. Where did he go?"
When she had eventually found Logan, a man she saw as a friend, as if for nothing more a superior. But she did have a small crush on him, one she would never admit on, because she was surely not the only one that had it. She knocked and walked inside. "Hi there, Marina." She greeted the woman with a smile, as she by now knew her name as she came here.. quite often. She always guessed she was either very unlucky, or she was a victim to violence at home, either way, she wasn't going to judge. That wasn't her job. She then addressed Logan. "You were looking for me?"

Marina nodded and chuckled as Logan teased her, "Believe me. I'd much rather see you in a social situation or in a red cape than patching me up from the hospital door exploding on me. And before you ask no, I don't know how it happened. I was just fending off a psycho with an athame who hates Wicca." she shrugged her shoulders softly "So dad wants me to get some plastic surgery." the tone was said sadly. "I don't suppose you could make me look like someone else, give me a new set of fingerprints?" the joke fell flat and she knew it. "He wants the scars from some of my accidents to be removed. He doesn't like them."
More like he didn't like being reminded of them. He figured he'd get rid of everything with one fell swoop. Easy to brush the reality under the rug. "Hi Sienna." she said as she pushed her glasses up. She rubbed the back of her neck. There was a jagged scar there where they had removed a strange lump. It had been nothing more than a fatty deposit but now it looked like someone had tried to behead her. She sighed. It matched her surgery scars for her cerebral palsy. They were deep too and were why she wore pants.

Marina was always pretty fiesty when it came to the banter back and forth between them, it was part of the reason he enjoyed taking care of her. Shaking his head, he took out a pen and scribbled a few things onto a form on a clipboard as they chatted. "Yeah well, we won't see me wearing my underwear on the outside any time soon." he replied without missing a beat. Setting his clipboard down, he moved closer, examing her for things he may have missed the last time she was here. She seemed to be accident prone, even if they were not always caused by her.
"Sounds like something right out of a movie. Glad you're alright." he said, before putting on a more serious looking expression. "Are you taking any new medications I should be aware of?" he asked, doing his job now before he went back to the light hearted bit. He had to know everything or else there was a chance for medicines to react to one another, or she could not be in the right state for surgery at all. "I'll also need to see the scars, assuming it's not going to make you uncomfortable." he said, that was the last thing he ever wanted. He wanted to see the extent of the surgery she was going to need, what exactly they were dealing with here.
Part of him wondered where all of these scars were coming from, but like everyone else he was unsure how to ask that without being offensive. He suspected a case of abuse, which it would have been his job to report if she was a child, but he couldn't really help her much without her talking to him at this age. "I'll see what our surgery team can do. Maybe we can trade looks, so I can go home and get some sleep." he joked, looking back at the door as Sienna came in. There was a quick smile of recognition as she entered, "Yes, I was looking for you. We're getting slaughtered here today, figured we could use a good nurse on the clock." he said, laughing.
"I think her coming in just saved your life too Marina, I've been here so long I've seen the entire nursing staff come and go almost twice." he said, making a joke about the length of his shift. To be honest he was dead tired, but he only had a few more hours to go. Once that was over, he shifted right from the jokes into the serious questions. He really was concerned, so he just had to suck it up. "Marina, do you mind if I ask where you get all these scars? From what I saw before, alot of them don't seem like they could be self inflicted or caused by an accident." he said, a look of concern on his face. He knew that they were both wonering, Sienna had probably helped him before with Marina.

Sienna remained quiet for the time being, as she let Logan do all the work, as he was supposed to, seeing he was the doctor here and not her. A small smile appeared on her face. "Yes, sorry, I worked a double shift yesterday. Didn't expect to be called back in so soon." She simply stated.
It wouldn't distract her from her job though. She had had a couple of hours to rest and eat, so, she would be okay for another couple of hours. She smiled at his comment about her toward Marina and looked at the woman, as she walked further into the room, going back to being quiet and observant. She figured he must be dead tired, which wasn't too strange, as their was a slight shortage of doctors at this moment. It had seemed like it was winter, only.. a little bit closer to the summer, where things went crazy too.
When Logan asked about her scarring, Sienna looked at her and bit her lip a bit. She had been helping in Marina's case a couple other times and each time she saw her again, her worry had the tendency to grow a little bit more. Of course she wanted to know what happened to Marina, that she was so prone of accidents and was so full of scarring. She knew Logan too must be considering abuse, she was sure she did. But, Marina was an adult, not a kid and if she didn't want to talk about it, it left them doctors with empty hands, basically. Which was kind of frustrating.
Then again, Sienna too had some scarring of her own. It was nothing she couldn't cover up. And hers were mostly from demon attacks on the occasions she came accross and fought them. It didn't happen too often, but still had for a fair amount of time. Although she doubted Marina was a witch, like she was. Besides, that wasn't exactly something you would just blurt out; "are you a witch?", no, people would just look at her as if she was crazy.

Grinning slightly she made an awe shucks sound and then laughed. Logan knew she liked to tease because honestly hospitals made her nervous. She'd been coming here for years for her disability and even though she knew a lot of folks here the nature of why she came in made her leery more than most folks. "I'm not taking anything new. I'm still on my Bupropion for my PTSD and my Allegra-D for my allergies and Temazepam for my sleeping issues." she admitted, "Dr. Mathas made a note in my chart about increasing my Bupropion during my ovulation period to keep my hormones from causing panic attacks." God she sounded like a Vietnam vet and she hated it. She wiggled her nose and sighed, "I'm still taking my vitamin supplements to make up for what is leached out of my system during my cycle." She had all this down by rote. "And my allergy shots are happening every 2 weeks as usual."
Marina shook her head. She was in a hospital gown,"I don't mind you seeing them. Most people keep theirs on the inside anyway I just wear mine on the outside." she admitted to him after giving a wry smile. She shrugged as she looked at him. She tilted her head to the side to let him move the robe aside and felt her stomach knot up. 'Suck it up girl. You can't keep it bottled up forever you're doing the right thing.'
The scars on her back were extensive. It looked like she'd been the victim of a flogging and caning at various points in her life. The bite marks were sporadic but done in almost an X pattern at times. She had a palm sized bruise on the size of her neck like someone had lifted her up bodily by it and just held her aloft. Along her rib cage were a series of deep claw marks that looked like she'd dodged what might have been an attempt at a lethal gut shot. Her other shoulder looked like something large had bitten her that had fangs more like a shark than anything.
"I don't suppose it matters. Not like anyone's going to do anything about them." she said to his question with a shrug, "I've reported them to the police and they keep "loosing" my reports." she said with a sigh as she stared at the wall. "The lash marks on my back are from my dad. So are the caning marks. He gets mad and well....loses it. The marks to my side was well I spooked something in the woods. It didn't like that I interrupted its dinner. The bite mark on my shoulder...well that is hard to explain. As for the x-rays. The only two accidents I've legitimately had were when I had my foot spasm and roll under. And I fell on it and broke the metacarpals on the top of my foot. And when I broke the metatarsals in my right hand because I tripped and slammed it into a bookcase trying to catch myself.
My wrist got broke when my dad grabbed me too hard one day. My shoulder got ripped out of its socket when my eldest brother threw me into a wall. And the latest set of bruises here and here are when my dad grabbed me by the throat and threw me over a banister for telling him I was moving out and didn't want to live at home any more. I was getting my ribs set when I ended up getting hurt again when that psycho tried to hurt that blond girl and the door exploded."
She looked them both in the eye, "You can report it but the head of the hospital won't do anything about it. My dad pays him to look the other way and as long as I'm patched up and dad pays the bills no one says anything because my dad built the cancer ward in this place." she sighed, "I'm not as clumsy as everyone thinks nor am I stupid. I take anxiety meds for my abuse issues. Normal people don't just walk in with PTSD and Depression for shits and giggles. For what its worth I'm going to be moving someplace as soon as my surgery is over and I'm not telling anyone where it is. I've tried to leave a lot of times but dad tracks me down and drags me back home."

As soon as Marina showed Logan the scarring, it made her a little bit queezy. Not because she couldn't handle it.. Hell, if she couldn't, she wouldn't be a nurse. But because she felt bad for Marina. That she had to suffer like this. When she heard Marina talk about what her Dad did to her, she had to mentally kick herself in the gut, to stop her from gasping. "The police keeps losing your report?" She then couldn't help but ask. It was weird, because well.. it made no sense at all. Why would the cops do that?
"The door exploded?" She asked, surprised, as she had quickly made notes on what happened, in case they would need it for a report. She only hoped they were able to do anything. "How did that happen?" She then glanced at Logan, feeling anger bubble inside her, as Marina told them that the head of the hospital got payed to shut up. As if they were in a freaking movie! Was her father a demon? That would explain a lot, but again, it wasn't a question, you just asked.
When Marina told them, she was leaving home as soon as the surgery was over, she felt somewhat relieved. It was good to know that this girl really did think of what she needed and acted on it, too. "That's good." She said, warmly.

Logan started scribbling furiously on the clipboard as she spoke, writing down key things to put on record for her. There wasn't much different from the last time, other than a slight increase in one of her meds. Off the top of his head he didn't really see any problems that glared at him, she seemed to be doing a bit better than the last time she was here. The procedure it's self was pretty straight forward as well, regardless of which route they were going. Part of him wanted to offer to help, but using his abilities would draw too much attention if she just suddenly lost every scar on her body.
"God, you sound like you should be doing my job. The way you recited that without pause. Even I tend to take a moment to think at the Doctors." he said, shaking his head. Of course, he had never been to the doctors in his life, his healing ability saw to that. But he could imagine that he would be trying to do the doctors job while the doctor was doing it, making it an annoying experiance for both of them. Logan nodded as she turned a bit to make it easier for him, though when he moved the robe a bit he didn't like what he saw at all.
These were not just scars like someone fell here or there. It looked like she had been savagely beaten at times. Of course he wanted to do something about it, to tell someone, but what would it matter. Even before she went off on a long rant about them, he had a general idea of where they came from. Logan had seen her father before with her in a hospital visit, an older gentleman. The vibe that he got wasn't good at all, like he was only there to make sure that his handiwork was not exposed to the world.
"Do you mind?" he asked as he extended a hand forward to her ribcage. He couldn't stand it at all, he was going to do something about it. "Could you draw the curtains for us Sienna." he asked, making sure that no one would be able to see what came next. He could handle at least one person seeing it, if he had to deny it to others he would, but for some reason he felt like it wouldn't leave this room. Logan's hand started to glow a faint blue colour, the cold touch of his hand immediately warming.
"Yeah well, I'm still going to see if I can do anything about it. I can't sit here and let this happen Mari. It's not right, and you running won't make it stop forever." he said, seeming upset with the situation. He truly was a bleeding heart, hoping to save the world, even if it was just one patient at a time. The scaring on Marina's back started to reduce it's self, smoothing out into the skin and starting to blend a bit. He couldn't get them all, as his forehead was already starting to sweat from the strain. It took a massive toll on him to heal people, but the exhaustion was worth it in his mind.
Once finshed, he removed his hand from her, examing his work. "I'm with Sienna, how did a door explode? Especially without me getting wind of it.." he said, wondering if maybe he had been asleep in one of the rooms. Raising a brow at her, he glanced over to Sienna to see how she was holding up after seeing that. He had no idea what she was, so he assumed she was normal, and that she would be weirded out by what he had done. "Sienna, it's very important to me that you say nothing of what you just saw. I can't continue to do this if people found out.." he said, seeming a bit nervous.

Sienna went silent as he started to scribble on the clipboard he had and bit her lip, as she pondered over the fact that there may or may not be something.. Anything she could do to help this woman. It just didn’t seem right. It didn’t seem.. fair. And truth be told, she’d probably go really mad if her father would be demon, because honestly, how much did demons care about others then themselves?
The way Marina had talked about all the medicine she took, made her head spin, even though she knew most of them by name and species. Taking one or two out of the medicine she spoke of, sounded somewhat rational, but taking more than that? Hm.. She sighed and looked at Logan as a small smile appeared on her face at his words.
Sienna nodded at his question and drew the curtains shut for them. Some privacy would be of order, she would think. When Logan’s hand began to glow a blue colour, the colour she faintly recognized as healing, she felt her mouth open in a small ‘o’. He was a healer.. That actually gave her some hopes in him not freaking out at her being a witch.. hopefully.
”Well, then, I’m with you.” She said, at his words of wanting to do anything about it, whatever that would be. She just cared enough for the patients to let it get to her in a way, even if she tried to shake it off, once work was over. The more Marina’s skin got healed, the more she somewhat looked at it, fixated, wondering how she couldn’t have known. ”Don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone. I promise.” She told Logan, as she looked at him reassuringly. ”Honestly, I’m a bit relieved that you are a healer, I mean you’re too good at your job not to be.” She looked at Marina, to see her reaction too, hoping she too would just keep this a secret. It didn’t need to leak out.

"I've gotten used to the drill." she said with a shrug as she sighed and looked over at Sienna, "They do that when they get made to forget." she said softly as she looked over at her, "I'm sure they are not intentionally obtuse but my dad has a talent for making people look the other way." she said simply with a hand moving to her glasses and pushing them up on her nose.
She blinked at Logan, "Logan, I'm fine save it for someone..." then he was healing her, "As one psychic to a gifted I'm gonna recommend you go straight to bed to sleep after this." she said with a sigh. "The door exploded because Jace is a witch and made it explode. I see what folks are and can tell you that the Warlock after her was not planning on letting her survive. I'm an empath. I can sense what people feel, speak any language and speak with the dead. I've also got a touch of prescience but its spotty with regards to me." she exhaled and looked to Sienna. "My dad sold his soul to become an incubus. He was a psychic before that. You must be careful please. Don't ever let him know you know of what I've said Please..." she let it trail off and shook slightly as she laid there. "Running away doesn't solve it but unless you know someone who deals with demons I've got a bit of a problem. Right now I've got a body guard who is trying to change his mind and a friend trying to get me out of there but its slow going." she exhaled softly and bit her lip, "Not like I'm gonna say anything about what you guys are. No one would believe me anyway."
She sagged tiredly, "Thank you for your help." she whispered softly as she looked into their eyes and they saw that determination and fire that kept her going. For the first time there was hope that she might escape.
