OOC Takes place a little after the "Stronger" thread
IC Trenton walked silently into the hospital. He wasn't quite sure where Marina's room was, but he'd be able to smell her, so that was a plus. He had heard about the witch hunter's attack on the hospital, and according to his sources, her father was extremely upset, understably so. Trenton had been wanting to visit Marina, but had had to wait until late evening to avoid any undue questions.
Catching Marina's scent, he turned the corner and headed for the room. He silently opened the door. "Do not be alarmed. It is just me," he whispered, walking in and closing the door quietly. "I heard about the attack here and I was concerned about you," he continued. He let out a mental scoff. Concerned about her? He had been flat out worried. "I apologize for not visiting sooner, but I wished to avoid any unnecessary questions," he confessed. And Reginald would definitely asked questions. Ones that he would've tried to dodge, but he had not been in the mood to deal with such things.
Trenton stared at Marina, unsure of wha to say next. Her body had been broken. The very thought of it made him angry. Who would dare hurt her? If I find out who did this, I will rip them limb from limb, he thought to himself. He closed his eyes briefly to compose himself. The last thing he wanted to do was scare her by appearing unsettled. "How are you holding up?" he queried.

Mari layed on her stomach in bed, she had her own room and it was very high end. Her father had insisted she be given the proper items befitting her status, She'd been operated on, they'd removed the slivers in her back and she'd had some plastic surgery to hide some of the scarring. She was a bit out of it from being on morphine so when Trenton came in she blinked and tilted her head gently, "I don't mind you visiting I just don't know your name." she smiled warmly at him.
"My father would be mad at you for visiting but I like the company. It gets lonely at home with no one to talk to." the drugs were making her tell the truth more than she liked and she knew she was at the mercy of whatever this vampire wanted to do. She should be scared but the reality was that she knew he could have killed her at any time. "I understand why you didn't visit. You're a vampire and can't go out during the day. Its okay." she smiled warmly and thought about how nice his eyes were. She didn't know why her thoughts were so tangled but she ran with it. Gotta love the drugs.
"I'm okay. My father is making sure I have plastic surgery done so no one knows what happened. He likes making inconvenient things disappear. He's good at it. He doesn't like complications to his life. You have nice eyes. Thank you for visiting me." she said softly as she looked at him, "Don't worry. I'm alright. You don't need to worry." she reached out for his hand and smiled at him.

Trenton chuckled when Marina stated that she didn't mind the company, but still didn't know his name. "My apologizes. My given name is Trenton, but you are welcome to call me Trent," he told her. His eyes clouded when she mentioned her father being angry. "I do not see how he would be angry with someone merely making sure that you are unharmed when he cannot be there to do it himself," he responded and then started slightly when she revealed that she knew he was a vampire. "Ah, so you know. I should have suspected," he commented. His eyes clouded when she mentioned the surgery and that her father didn't like complications and made a mental note to talk to her father in private.
He had to chuckle a bit. Whatever pain medications she was on were making her quite the chatterbox. Trenton found that he liked it. He gave her a genuine smile at her compliment. "Why thank you, Bella. I do not believe anyone has ever told me that before," he admitted. As she told him not to worry because she was all right, she reached out and grasped her hand. "One cannot help but worry when one's friend has been injured," he replied. "Is there anything I can do for you?" he asked.

Mari smiled, "Its nice to meet you, Trenton. I'm a psychic that can sense what people are. I'm empathic too and some other things but I'm not a telepath and I don't pry in peoples thoughts if I can avoid it." she hated the drugs she was under and how much they made her head spin, she tried to focus on him and kept quiet to focus on his words, "My father is very jealous. He's convinced someone is going to spirit me away. He says the world is a horrible place and people would treat me like a freak if they knew what I was." her eyes clouded up in sadness at that thought before she blinked and smiled, "But you came to visit so that is a good thing." she said as she hugged her pillow.
She held his hand lazily, she wanted to give him some comfort as best as she could. She could sense his conflict if not what it was about and she wanted to help if she could, "I'm not beautiful. Helen of Troy was beautiful. Lucrezia Borgia was beautiful. I'm not pretty I'm just me but its nice of you to say so, Trent." she smiled back at him and squeezed his hand. "Can you help me up? I need to wash my face and brush my hair. I don't like looking messy for company. I might need a little help because the meds make me dizzy." She was in a nightgown that covered her to her feet that buttoned in the back. It was a lavender silk and was trimmed with delicate purple roses and ribbon. There was enough room in it to house 2 people but it was designed so she could be examined and not have it harm the stitches.
She smiled at him, "And could you tell my friend Rodney Brentel to bring my homework by to this room? I don't know where they put my cell phone and I don't want to get behind." she admitted, "Rodney helps me sometimes." there was no overly romantic thoughts of Rodney though it would be easy to see the image of Rodney helping her with her groceries.

Trenton gave a soft smile as Marina said that it was nice to meet him and then went on to explain that she was an empath and could sense what people were, though she couldn't read thoughts and that she preferred to stay out of other people's thoughts. And here I usually pry to my heart's content, the vampire thought to himself. He nodded at the request for her homework. "Of course," he agreed.
He frowned when she commented that her father was jealous of other and that he constantly worried that she would be hurt because he felt that the world was a bad place. "It can be, yes," he admitted. His frown deepened as she disagreed with him, saying that women like Helen of Troy were beauitful but that she wasn't beautifiul at all. "I do not want to hear that type of nonsense. You are a very beautiful girl," he insisted. I should take advntage of the pain medication to find out about her father, he mused. However, before he could do so, she squeezed his hand. At her request, he carefully helped her to sit up. "Of course, I will help you in anyway you desire. Just tell me where everything has been placed and I will acquire it for you," he responded, letting his old-fashioned speech flow out. He nodded at the request for her homework. "Of course," he agreed.
Trenton let his gaze fall on Marina. Ever since their first meeting, he had not been able to get the girl out of his head and her comments about her father had troubled him greatly. This would be a most opportune time to ask her. "Marina, your father...has he been abusing you?" he questioned.
Note: Maer gave me permission to have Trenton help Marina sit up.

She tilted her head at him, and smiled weakly, "I'm glad you think I'm beautiful." she said softly as he helped her sit up, "My brush is in the bathroom and so are some facial clothes." she said gently as she looked at him and tried to keep her requests to a minimum, "I like seeing the real you. Its nice." she said when he started to slip into old fashioned speech, "It makes me feel like a princess." she giggled a bit, "I've not felt that way in a long time." she admitted as she looked over at him.
Marina's head fell and her eyes welled up, "Sometimes when he's angry. He gets so many conflicting emotions its just like he loses control. He doesn't mean to he just can't control what he is and its just hard for him and then I go and piss him off and he gets mad and if I just said the right things maybe I could get him to be calmer." she said softly, she closed her eyes and the tears drop freely, "He's an incubus and a psychic and he feeds off people like a vampire does sort of but he can't feed off me. I'm immune to whatever it is that incubi and succubi do and so he doesn't have to worry he's going to hurt me. That's why he's so clingy. I'm the one person in his entire life he hasn't killed and he doesn't want to lose that."
She wiped the tears from her eyes and took a deep breath, "Well that and incubi are used to having sex and sometimes when his mind starts twisting that way he hits me because he doesn't want to sexually abuse me so its really just kind of messed up. He's scared of himself and what he can do and doesn't know how to handle it. I used to have older brothers but they died the last one died when I was seven and I..." she shook her head, "Dad killed him because he tried to touch me. I've never seen him lose it like that. Its why I don't date I don't want him tearing people to shreds I mean that was his own son and he just butchered him without a second thought. They had to cast spells to get the blood off the walls..." she felt cold and shook as she talked but she couldn't seem to stop. She took a breath and closed her eyes to try and steady herself. "I think he killed my brother because he was jealous. He's so careful not to hurt me that way that the thought that my brother would do something he might want to do but won't just drove him further insane."

Trenton flashed her a smile when she thanked him for thinking that she was beauitufl. Then, her eyes brimmed as she explained that the abuse only happened when he was angry and had nowhere else to channel it and that she was immune to her father's powers and that he would get made because she had done something to make him angry, but also explained why he was overprotective of her. That is the one thing I will never understand---why those who are abused tend to blame themselves, Trenton thought to himself.
Trenton had to restrain himself from putting his arms around her as the tears cotinued to fall. It was not the right time to hold her. When she mentioned incubi and sex, the vampire's senses went on an even higher alert. Was she about to reveal that he had hurt her in that way as well? Thankfully, she went on to appease his fears saying that even though he may have had the desires, he was always careful with her. "That's a good thing. It shows that he has not completely lost his humanity," he encouraged her. Perhaps that was something he could help him with. Not his powers of course since they wouldn't work, but...he could do something.
Trenton refocused his attention on Marina when she mentioned to having brothers at once point. "What happened to them?" he wondered. Upon hearing on what had nearly happened, an involuntarily snarled escaped his lips and his eyes flashed gold. Sure, he had done worse to his own victims, but the thought of something like that happening to Marina angered him. Trenton struggled to get himself under control and finally managed it."He protected you," he said matter-of-factly in response to her amazement that her father could do that to his own son who would attempt to do what he himself may have wanted to do but never acted on. "I do not mean to scare you, but if I had been in that situation, I most likely would have done the same thing," he told her honestly. Then, "It is late and you need your rest."

Mari could feel his urge to hug her and she held his hand gently. Her own shook slightly as she continued to talk. "I haven't...well I've not had sex. Its not something I tend to focus on." she admitted softly as she looked over at him and her cheeks pinked. She couldn't believe she was even having this conversation with a vampire of all people. "I always thought I'd wait until I was married. But with my dad being how he is I don't know. He alternately goes back and forth on marrying me off. He wants me to stay home but he wants power. I just don't know."
"It shows he's not completely lost his humanity." she agreed, "But I dress very modest around people in any case just because I don't want to add to his frustration." she murmured softly as she hugs her side softly feeling a bit embarrassed to be discussing it. Her hair fell in her face slightly. She needed to color it back to its natural color. There was no way she could live on her own now. Her father would not let him out of his sight.
She looked up at his reaction and blinks softly as she sees how furious he is at the thought of her being hurt, "Trent, he's gone. He can't hurt me any more." she squeezed his hand to try and give him something to focus on. "I'm in the hospital and I'm safe." Letting his hand go, she moved under the covers when he suggested it. She was tired. She crawled further into the bed and began brushing her hair quietly, her eyes watching him as she tried to keep him calm. Her hands braiding her hair and keeping it neatly wrapped around her head in an old fashioned style so it wouldn't bother her back.
Rolling on her belly and tilting her head to the side and smiling softly at him as she yawns, "I enjoy talking with you, Trenton." she says softly as she looks into his eyes and smiled. For a vampire he was very nice and she couldn't sense any malicious intent.
