Aylen smiled as she neared Charms N Thangs. She'd been hired by the store owner the week previously, but she hadn't been able to get in until then, which he understood. The dog at her side woofed softly when they reached the door, though she recognized the smell of herbs from down the street. She reached down to pat Charles's head before she opened the door, letting the dog lead her inside. She didn't see an aura up front, but she could sense someone in the back of the store.
She walked through, stepping up to the counter. "Hello?" She called towards what she hoped was the back of the store. That was where she felt the presence coming from anyway. The Owner had told her that one of his employees would help her get settled, since he wouldn't be there for awhile. Something about a vacation, she thought, though she wasn't really sure. "Is anyone there?"
Charles, usually silent, gave out a woof. She glanced down at the swirling mass of blue, green and brown at her feet and frowned at him. "Hush, Charles," She admonished. "We're in a store. You know better." She felt the dog whack her ankles with his tail as he simply wagged it at her admonishment. He reached up and licked her hand, and though she made a face she laughed a little before turning back towards the counter.
"Hello?" She called again. Maybe they hadn't heard her the first time? She knew not everyone had ears like hers, her ears were much better than a normal person's thanks to her blindness. Charles huffed with impatience, and Aylen lowered her hand to rest on his head gently as she waited for someone to come out to greet her. She just hoped they wouldn't flip too bad about Charles, but honestly, she was blind after all... Sort of.

Life could attempt to settle for abit, but something always tries to make things interesting. Now that Chicken Wing is gone and the sales for Phoenix Feathers and Fire Bird Eggs is completely gone, the manager decided to put in some interesting additions to the shop. One of them was a psychic to do readings and stuff, and the other was what Ev was feeding in the basement. The psychic thing kind of made sense. Ev had dreams of the future, what could he say about psychics not being true? Jace could see the past, and he was pretty sure that his high school girlfriend could read his mind. He was a bit worried because she might find some stuff out - about Ev. Most stuff about him he isn't exactly keen about having out in the open. But right now, she wasn't supposed to be in and he had a job to do. Instead of a Phoenix, the manager had obtained something different; a mermaid.
Mermaids are not pretty women with fish tails and sea shells. It was actually a bit disappointing. They had fishtails, but octapus tenticles for hair. The one Ev was looking at had a scaled face with dark blue eyes and razor sharp teeth. From what he knew, the mermaids had aquakinetic abilities. Water balls, water teleportation and freezing and a truck load of things, but the manager believed that it would prove valuable. Mermaid scales, mermaid ice and even mermaid mucus. It is sick, but he had to feed her. So poaring another bucket of oysters into the tank, she rose to the surface. ''Sarz, what's up chicka''. He joked with her, but it must have been the mermaid's time of the month because she frowned, screamed and sent a beam of water at Ev.
He shat himself, stepping back but holding up both hands to hold it off. He didn't want to brag but after everything that happened with Selena and everything, he was definitely stronger. Using telekinesis he held off the water in a wall of power, struggling to keep it from hitting him. ''Sarz! You can cool it now!''. The water did stop, and a cranky mermaid flipped down under the water from Ev as he looked down at her, running a hand through his hair. It really was an odd life he lead, but then he heard a hello up stairs. Quickly, he ran up stairs and locked the basement doors, then heading back into the store from the back room. He saw the woman and - a dog! What?
''Um - hi, I'm Ev''. He said as he moved towards her. The dog was barking like mad as he looked down at it. Phoenix's and mermaids he barely got along with, but dogs? Really? Maybe she had a reason for having Scooby with her. Walking around the counter, he got to her and looked at her. He smiled towards her, doing the polite guy thing to a - well - beautiful girl. ''You must be the new psychic''. He grinned as he fiddled with a piece of paper in his hand.

Aylen frowned down at her dog, confused as to why he was barking so much. He was usually quiet. She reached down, and tapped him on the head. He quit, startled and looked up at her, his tongue lolling from one side of his mouth. She glanced up when she heard the man walk in, and smiled when he greeted her and said his name was Ev.
"Well Ev, it's nice to meet you," Aylen said. "I'm Aylen. And this is Charles. I'm sorry about the barking, he's usually... Quieter." She frowned down at Charles, who wagged his tail but didn't start barking again. "But yes, I am the new psychic. I wasn't able to get in until today." She shrugged absently as she turned her head to glance towards the back of the shop again. She could still feel... Something back there. What it might have been she hadn't a clue. It wasn't something she'd felt before, and she couldn't see an aura through a wall.
Aylen shifted her gaze back to Everette. "I was told that there would be a room or something set up for me?" She asked curiously. "Could you show me to it?" She liked this Ev's aura, though she wasn't sure that she had seen an almost pure silver color before like he had. It was shot through with darker grays and a bit of gold, but most of it was silver.
"I'd like to get started as soon as I can. Charles will stay out of the way, he's well trained and usually well mannered. If he gets to be too big of a problem though, I can leave him at home and have one of my chauffeurs bring me instead." She smiled kindly at Ev, waiting patiently.

Should he feel bad that he was disappointed she didn't know his name or something? We all psychics different? He heard that one psychic in town could see spirits, read minds and has telekinesis. This one seemed - much more normal. Even though she was obviously blind. From the look of the cane, the dog and the no-eye contact it wasn't hidden. It didn't bother him at all, it kind of added a kind of mysteriousness over her. A psychic, does readings without sight. Interesting. He smiled at her as she greeted him she also appologized for the dogs behaviour. See, a dog. The pet everyone should have. Call Ev unique because he had a tempermental mermaid as a companion that shoots water at him when angry. Strange right? But grinning at her, he looked at the dog. He wasn't sure if he should pat it, but playing friendly was his specialty. Bowing down, he scratched the top of Charles' head. ''No problem at all, he's cool''. He said as he stood back up to her.
She did glance to the back, leading to the basement where Sarz was. He was kind of worried. Could she sense her? Sense a flourishing little mermaid under the store? He tried to distract her from it, but she already started again. She had initiative, a good quality of an employee. He smiled at her, and then remembered the curtained room at the far end of the store. That was what it was! Ev was half convinced that the room was a sex dungeon because no one ever went back there. But it must have been it. ''Oh, yeah. It's back here. And don't worry about Charles, I like dogs. I think your appointment sheet is in the back but we will get you settled first''. Yes, he is a sweetie. ''Here''. He went to take her hand, but stopped. When his hand touched her wrist, he gasped. He could sense, something. He could feel a buzzing around her and suddenly as he looked at her he saw a colourful aura around her. He had never seen anything like it, it was beautiful.
Taking his hand off of her, he breathed heavily. He didn't step away from her. It just - shocked him. ''Um, oh my god. You read auras?''. Subtle right? When he touched her, he had a glimpse of her power. But how? Maybe he was just getting more powerful. Or maybe, since he had a psychic ability, they intersected her power. It was weird, but amazing. Is that what she could see? ''It's amazing....''.

Aylen smiled when Everette was obviously figuring out she was blind. It amused her, though, that he didn't show pity. She was so used to it that it almost annoyed her, she disliked pity from anyone. But Everette just smiled and bent down to pet Charles, who wagged his tail happily and licked Everette's cheek. Charles loved to get petted.
"I'm glad you like him," She said with a smile. "That would have made this arrangement rather awkward, don't you think?" She laughed a little, and reached down to scratch Charles behind one floppy ear. The pit-bull/golden retriever mix was a large dog, and amazingly sweet. He leaned against her and sighed with obvious contentment. "He's just a big baby really."
Appointment sheet? "That would be awkward for me to fill out," She said, her eyes crinkling with humor. "I wonder if I can train Charles to do that for me... The blind psychic with a dog that can write? That'd bring in a lot of customers," She said with a laugh. The laugh died fast when Everette touched her wrist, though. Usually she didn't mind being touched, and found it comforting to have someone besides a dog and a cane leading her somewhere. But when Everette touched her...
A shock raced up her arm, and she gasped when he did, her eyes going wide with shock as her arm tingled from his touch. But it wasn't just the shock that had made her gasp. When he grabbed her wrist, something happened that had never happened to her before. She could see!
She could still see Everette's aura, but it pulled away from his face and body, glowing around him like a halo instead of forming a vague human-shaped glow, like something you might see on a heat sensor. It flared around him too, shining much brighter than it had been before and the aura was almost pure silver. Now she could see his face, features and everything, and she barely heard him exclaim that she could sense auras.
"I can see you..." Her voice sounded far away to her own ears as her eyes widened with the shock of it. She reached out, touching his face with her hand, a hand she could see. "I- I can... Actually see you... I don't understand..." This had never happened to her before. She could sense something in him, something she didn't know how to explain.
"You're a witch," She gasped as the feeling jolted a memory inside her. That was what Charles and Samuel felt like when they touched her. But she never got this effect from them, never saw anything but their auras when they touched her arm. There was something else though, something...
TRINITY. The word flashed in her mind and nearly rocked her back. She had to lean against the counter to keep herself on her feet. Charles wined and looked up at her, licking her free hand with worry. She had never had a vision without willing it, even just something as simple as a word. But that one word flashed into her mind, repeatedly. Trinity.
"Trinity..." She whispered.

It was an intimate moment really? It was odd because he barely knew this girl. All he knew is that she is psychic, blind, has a dog called Charles, sees irony in being involved with 'appointment sheets' and apparently sees auras. It was amazing, as if they had become one. It made sense. As he touched her, aura lights appeared over her and they flicked like fire. But he could still see everything, just on a different level. He looked around and looked down at her when a soft hand touched of hers touched his face. It must have been even more amazing for her. Ev understood it that she always saw these auras around people, but he had given her the gift to see for a bit. It was like a whole new world. ''You can see? That's awesome''. He was like a kid on Christmas as he looked to the brown aura of Charles to the amazing aura of Aylen's. He smiled at her when she touched him, looking into her eyes.
His hand ran from her forearm to her hand, lifting it as his fingers slid in between hers. He focused, and the power intensified. Auras around them glowed deeper as he looked around at them, his mouth open in amazement. He heard what she said. At first he was creeped out, but they were in contact. She must be reading him or something because she knew he was a witch. Smiling at her, he nodded slightly. ''Yeah, I am. Is that okay?''. This was slightly freaking him out, and he didn't want her to freak out and leave. In a way, there was so much they could learn from each other, this was just extraordinary. But that wasn't all she read. The one thing that barely anyone knew about. She said 'Trinity' and he felt the urge to pull away. But he couldn't lie now. ''Don't tell anyone okay? I feel like I can trust you''. Trying not to worry, he decided to make things even more powerful.
Raising his hand, he opened his hand as butterflies released into the air. The aura filled flutters circled above them as Ev looked up at them, smiling as light tails chased the insects as he looked around and then back down at the girl, his smile weakening slightly. ''This is what you see all the time? Instead of faces, you see their souls? It's - amazing, really. Truth be told, I never really believed in psychics. But now totes believer all the way''. He smirked as he decided it might be enough since they would be opening soon, and let go of her hand as the aura's disappeared from his vision. The world looked kinda different now. Less colourful anyway.

Aylen's eyes brimmed with tears and she laughed, her chest filling with joy. She blinked once, though, and the tears of joy left her eyes as she looked up into Ev's face, her eyes dancing with with the pure mirth she felt. "Yes I can, at least for the moment..." She didn't want to blink, but she did as she looked around, trying to take everything in. She looked down at Charles, and the large dog let out a single woof as he seemed to laugh up at her, his tongue lolling out happily. "I've... Never..." Her words trailed off and she looked back to Everette, and realized just how intimate the moment must look to any outsiders, and she lowered her hand, feeling her cheeks heat up with a blush. "I'm sorry," She said softly, even has he ran his hand down her arm and twined their fingers together.
Aylen could sense his discomfort, and was afraid that her stating him being a witch had upset him. But she smiled when he asked if it was okay and she nodded. "I have no problem with it," She said softly. "My bodyguards... Chauffeurs are both witches. You could say I'm used to it." She tilted her head back up from staring at Charles and smiled up at him. She straightened off the counter, and looked worried when he asked her not to tell anyone, that he trusted her. Her brows drew together, and she bit her lip. "I won't tell anyone," She said. "But you... Could you not tell anyone about my gift?" She felt worry prickling at her. She didn't need this getting out. "I don't want... I don't want anyone else knowing."
She glanced down at their linked hands before she lifted her eyes back to his, the worry still there. "I do feel like I can trust you too, though." The worry cleared, and she smiled faintly, and when he lifted his hand, she laughed with a great joy as butterflies lifted from his palm and flitted around the shop. She loved to see the insects themselves, as well as their auras.
When he turned back to her, Aylen turned her attention away from the butterflies and her eyes went a little sad. "Yes," She said softly. "I see their souls, but it's all that I can see. I..." She frowned, but shook her head. "I wish I could see faces though," She said, and drew away from him even as he let her go. The world around her enclosed herself in darkness once more, and she could see only the shifting colors of his aura, his soul.
Aylen drew away mostly because she didn't want him to sense her lie. She had been about to tell him that she could sense more than just auras, but her life of secrecy held her back from telling him all of the truth. Maybe she would, some day. She did feel like she could trust him. But when you live a life of keeping secrets, it's hard to break those rules and trust anyone. Samuel and Charles knew everything, but that was only so they could protect her better.
"Well, I'm glad I could make you a believer in psychics then," Aylen said with a sly smile. "I hate people who go around scamming people by saying they're psychics though. I can usually ferret out people like that, since I can tell when they're lying." She smiled, and it was a sneaky, mischievous smile. "I have many enemies when it comes to people trying to make a living at something they aren't. I even had one person try to attack me. Charles, my bodyguard not my dog, actually had to fight him off. It was entertaining, to say the least..."

As his hands tucked into his pockets, he smiled at her. It was a big experience indeed, and he was happy that he gave her the opportunity to actually see. He could understand the tears, the joy. He was happy he gave her that, and hopefully she wouldn't forget it. Seeing life in a perspective of auras was a change, but he couldn't live like that. He felt bad that she will never see a rose, only smell it. She was get married, and not see her dress. To watch a movie and special effects are redundent. It was sad really, but being able to read aura's was a gift, not a curse. He just hoped she could see it like that. ''I won't tell anyone. Cross my heart. But, maybe we could do it again later. Maybe show you a surprise or too down in the basement''. He could see how amazing it would be for Aylen to see a mermaid. Not beautiful, but magnificant. He looked at her, but then realized he would have to get back to work soon. A customer came through the door. They were now technically open so Ev listened as he maneuvered himself around the counter, looking to her.
''Really? But I guess that is what bodyguards are for. You will probably definitely find a few frauds in her. Witches asking for major league stuff even though they couldn't tell toad stones from mermaid pearls''. He smirked as he looked around to see the customer. He approached quickly, looking from Aylen to Ev as he asked the question. ''Um, which one of youse is the psychic?''. Ev looked from him to Aylen, a bright smile on his face. ''I guess you're up''. He smirked and then looked back to the guy with a small smile. ''Just go up to the room up there and she will be with you in a second''. Nervously the guy went and Ev looked at Aylen. Her first reading, he hoped she would be okay. He would go up there with her if he didn't have to - well - run the shop but anyway. He hoped she had the confidence, and didn't want her to feel powerless. Stepping back around the counter, he looked to her and took her arm once more. ''Here, let me help you''. Aura's shot in his vision, but he just helped her to the room and skipped off to go and check that Sarz wasn't plotting a tidal wave or something.

Aylen smiled when he suggested trying that again later, and she only nodded. She wasn't able to speak just then, but just as she found her voice a customer came in wanting the psychic. She smiled at him, his shifting colors of an olive green color and a strange brown before he moved towards the room set aside for her. She turned back to Everette, and smiled faintly.
"I'd like to see what you're hiding in the basement," She told him, and laughed a little as he grabbed her hand to take her to the room. "Thank you, Everette. I do appreciate it." She smiled and patted his hand when they reached the room. "I can take it from here," She said softly. "He just wants to know if his wife is cheating on him." She turned and winked at him before she pulled away, and her world went dark save for the shifting aura's.
She stepped in, and saw the man glance around, his aura shifting with his movement.
"I thought youse forgot about me."
Aylen smiled. "I never forget a customer," She said, and went to sit across the table from him. She was amused when she found a crystal ball on the table. "Now make yourself comfortable, and tell me just what it is you want to know."
