Merry blinked and scrolled back to read her sent messages then quickly texted back, My cousin got ahold of my phone. She's still recovering from falling in a ditch and doesn't know what she's asking.
She texted back quickly and looked over at Leila and laughed, "You're so rotten I love it. I wish I could be there to see the look on his face when he sees it." she snickered and looked over at Leila, "I am the queen of resourceful."she stretched and glanced at her. "You need to hit the grocery store? I've got the car and some time to kill." she said with a shrug and a smile.
"I work at the library because it gets me out of the house without being sent all over touring. I do record albums at the studio usually during my off time." she admitted as she looked at her, "I am thinking of pursuing singing fully but I don't know if I could handle the crowds very well." she admitted with a shy smile, "I always thought you'd be a fantastic model, Leila. You're pretty and have a devil may care attitude." she said as she finished her soup and washed out the bowl along with whatever dishes were in the sink. She seemed content where she was and the mood swing was quickly forgotten as if it had never been. "Dad, wants me to take over the business but he's not wanting me to be so much in the public eye. Lord knows what he's thinking..." she sighed and rolled her eyes.

Moments like these Lelia wished she was better with magic, she would have bewitched Merry's phone to translate her new message into something dirty. She made a mental note to create a spell like that to mess with her cousin, it could be pretty funny in the long run. Something she could never understand was why Merry did everything like her father wanted, didn't she want to rebel a bit? Sometimes she thought that she might be the only one in the entire line of Lovelace children with that gene in their body, sometimes she thought of them like the Von Trapp family.
Watching her cousin scramble to undo her work, Lelia chuckled at her. "Yeah well, I had alot of practice. Rebellious to the end, I was born as a bad child." she said, laughing. She could remember being told stories, stories about how she had so much energy. She was an obnoxious little girl, always getting into things, always testing her boundaries, and just generally too smart for her age. "Just ask him about it or maybe you even have to maybe he'll bring it up now that I've broken the ice." she said, laughing as she cleaned out the bowl.
"Touring sounds like a ton of fun. I'll never understand why you don't go for it." she said, leaning back in her chair. Lelia let her eyes drifted to the wall in thought for a moment, before instinctively standing up and going to the fride. Removing a bottle, she would pour herself a glass without even considering present company. "You could do it. Maybe I'd even come with you, I'll be your posse." she said with laugh at the idea. Lelia did know how to work a crowd, she was a very social person, not afraid to make a complete dork of herself. The idea of her being a model to Merry was laughable, of course.
Wrinkling her nose, Lelia shook her head. "I don't know about all of that Mer, I am too mortal to be a model. I burp, fart, and eat a ton. I don't say excuse me, and I'm a pretty terrible role model in my private life." she said, trailing off on the last bit. Anyone who really knew her knew what her problems were, that little girls would and should not be looking up to her for anything. Jokingly she would try to cut Merry a deal, smirking the whole time. "I'll tell you what, if you pursue singing, I'll get clean and take over the business for you. Save you the trouble." she said, not meaning it entirely even though she sounded serious.
As if Lelia.

Merry exhaled, she didn't know if her life would let her pursue a singing career. She adored doing it but to put herself out there so much was very intimidating for her, "I understand, believe me my rebellion is in seeing Connor. Dad wants me to not even speak to him. He wants me to bespell the house so he can't come in and I just don't want to do that. I know it sounds lame. I'm not like either of you sets of twins. There's always just been me." she washed more dishes and smiled at the blond girl. Drying one of the glasses before putting it away. "I know Tana and Tara act like I'm a triplet but I'm not a psychic like that. The only one I can get a sense for when someone else isn't the telepath is Connor." that was a big admission for her and it was the first time she admitted she might have a deeper connection to Connor.
She exhaled softly and looked at Leila, "Dad's not...well...dad's a vampire Leila. He's been one for a long time. I mean obviously he wasn't before I was born but sometime after that he became one. I've not even had a chance to mention it to him and I don't know if I should I mean he's my dad and he's taken care of all of us for years and I don't want to hurt him. I love him and he's always been so nice to us and I don't want to turn my back on him." she looks over at her and she can see the troubled look in her eyes, "Given what he is I can see why he's so protective I mean not every one is going to be as nice as he is and if anyone knows what evil is out there its a vampire."
She exhaled softly, "Leila, you don't have to promise me anything. You do what you feel you need to. You know Daddy will give you a position any time you want it." she said with a soft smile, she finished the dishes and folded the towel gently before she put it to dry on the sink.
She walked over to her and relaxed in a seat next to her, "What do you want to do Leila? If you could have any job in the world what would it be?" she asked her as she watched her cousin's reaction.

"If you feel that strongly about him, don't let him get away, 'kay?" Lelia said, wrinkling her nose a bit. She sounded like her mother again, causing her emotions to stir up from the depths of mind. It sounded like Merry was somewhat happy, something she wasn't used to, so if she had it then Lelia wouldn't allow her to let it go. She felt happy again, now that her drink was back in her system, more relaxed about Merry's presence. "If he hasn't tried to hurt you since, then I think he has a pretty good grasp on the situation. Uncle Rob will just have to learn to deal with it." she said in an almost cheerful voice, walking over and hugging Merry.
"Besides, someones gotta find love, get married, and all the nonsense right? Our family history is such a downer, one of us can find happiness." she said, releasing her, finishing her glass. Lelia raised her brow though at the mention of her Uncles condition. Uncle Rob was a vampire? So not only did they suddenly exist, they seemed to be everywhere now. Was that what was chasing her the other night? She just assumed it was some demon, those she knew to be real thanks to her heritage. "I don't.. I don't know how to feel about that.." she admitted, feeling sorry for him, feeling like they should do something. Vampires hurt people, but these two were close to the family.
Lelia shrugged her shoulders, "I guess I could see why he feels that way then. Who would know best how dangerous they are than one of their own. I think you should be especially careful in the days to come.." Lelia said, a hint of warning in her tone. She didn't know why but it felt like something bad was going to be coming, something she couldn't quite place her finger on. There was a flash of confusion for a moment, as if the idea of help seemed foreign to her. Shaking her head, she sighed, "I don't think I could live up to expectations right now." she admitted, knowing there were times where she performed horribly at her job.
Taking another drink, she shrugged. "No idea. I guess if everyone feels the way you do, we can turn me into a model!" she said, being a bit sarcastic. "Right now though I think the perfect job is bruised witch, I don't even need an interview for that one. I think I'm going to crash." she said, wandering away as if she had become absent minded. Whatever she took when they came here started to kick in, it looked like she was struggling to find her way to a bed, so she fell onto the couch face first.
Thread finished.

Merry let her cousin talk herself out and watched as she wound down and fell asleep on her own couch. Sighing softly she made sure to leave the keys where Leila could find them and locked the door behind herself with a muttered spell. Nothing ever happened over night that was worth it and fussing at Leila for being something she could not be was pointless. She sighed and dialed her cousin and left voice mail, "Take care of yourself Leila. We all love you." she said into the phone before hanging up and driving back home. She took the extra time to put things back into the garage before she went to work. One thing about being your own boss you could make your own hours. THREAD CLOSED [/size]
