He stepped foot into the library, looking around curiously at the large interior; full of books, shelves and whatever else. He then noticed that he was feeling the need to choke, as if he was suffocating, or something like that. Yep, it was confirmed, he really didn't come into libraries often. Walking in slowly, still glancing around at all of the shelves full of books, he tried to suss out the 'hot librarian' Rodney had been referring to in their last conversation. It couldn't be too hard to find a hot librarian, right? That was, unless Rodney's taste was just so off that Axel wouldn't even be able to tell which one was hot to Rodney or not. Rodney couldn't be that bad, they seemed to have a bit in common, hopefully that was something they shared in common. If not, he'd have to smack it into him one way or another.
He walked up to the desk, looking around nervously before noticing a woman behind there. She looked pretty...He wouldn't necessarily say she was hot by any means because the thought of a librarian getting it on with him wasn't exactly one of his fantasies. But he could see, if this was the one Rodney was talking about, why Rodney found her hot. "Uh...Hey there. I'm looking for my friend, he usually comes here. Pretty good looking, well built, really nice. He was supposed to tutor me on the fundamentals of literature today, but hasn't got back to me." Wow, he really deserved a lot of grattitude for Rodney the way he was talking him up. Tutoring him on the fundamentals of literature? How the heck did Axel even come up with that line? He wasn't sure, but hoped Rodney made enough of an impression on this librarian for her to recognize who Axel was actually talking about.

He chuckled softly. "Seriously? They are that many hot people here..?" He cut himself off, realizing probably how bad that sounds. He looked around, so there were a few decent people, but also a lot of not so decent people, as well. He turned back to Merry the librarian as she asked for his name. "Oh, yeah. His names Rodney. He probably would have a study group, knowing him. His pretty good like that, yeah." He smiled cooly at the librarian, not sure of any other ways to hype up Rodney, or in some ways even overhype him.
He followed her, not sure where she was taking him. He noticed some other librarian, it seemed, who had approached Merry and begun talking to her. Yep, the librarian Rodney was lusting over must have been Merry, if it was the other one, he would be waking up Rodney from whatever 'la la land' he was from. He noticed some girls staring at Axel, leading him to smile cooly at them, then they begun giggling at Merry, for some reason. Axel was never one to really notice when people were checking him out, just taking it as a friendly smile or gesture, something like that anyway.
As Merry waved the other girl aside, he smirked softly, before looking around as he waited for Merry to find out any information. If only Rodney knew he was actually in a library, talking with a librarian of all things, he would probably have a laugh, or try and enthuse him to come here more often, something like that anyway, he suspected. If Rodney thought that by Axel coming here that Rodney had a new study buddy at the library, then Rodney had another thing coming because he wouldn't be caught seen in a library other than to do his mate a favor.

Merry chuckled and shook her head, "We don't hold fashion contests in the library. No one would get any work done." she said with a good natured wink to him as the girls seemed to scatter, "Don't mind them. They're matchmakers." she gestured gently at the retreating females, "We'll talk in the study room. Its the glass over there." she beckoned after checking the book and not seeing a reservation on the book.
When he mentioned Rodney she beamed at him, "Ahh yes I remember Rodney. He tried getting my attention by claiming to need help. He was so nervous I didn't have the heart to tell him I was the library director. I figured he'd trip over himself." she confessed to him shyly, "He's very sweet. I invited him out for coffee when he said he wanted to hang out sometime." she tilted her head, "I don't see his name in the book but you're welcome to stay as long as you like." Her hand started to twinge and she winced, moving her hand into his view "Sorry, one of the patrons got a little violent the other evening. My cousin's a nurse and has been checking on it but the muscles still hurt a little bit."
"The library is an interesting place. Most people would never believe half the things that happen here. Patrons can be a really varied bunch." she admitted to him quietly, "The girls were just teasing me because you're the third really nice looking gentleman I've met in three days. They seem to be just coming out of the woodwork." she shrugged and sat down in a chair gently. Crossing her legs demurely as she spoke.

She was probably right about fashion, it was just the little superficial side of Axel coming out. Which didn't happen too often anymore. "Hey, don't knock it until you try it," he responded with a soft grin. He nodded and followed her into the study room. He didn't understand why he needed to go talk to her in a study room, all he was looking for was a quick visit and the chance to hype Rodney up a bit, then leave. But it appeared as if he was being treated as royalty or something, which he didn't want in a library of all places. Now it looked like he was going to be stuck here for a while. He didn't know how to get out of this one without sounding rather abrupt or awkward.
His eyes widened softly as Merry spoke, apparently aware of Rodney's little crush, to some extent at least. He didn't know how to react, or what to say. "Yeah, he can be like that...?" He responded, trying to sound normal yet at the same time still stuck for words. Damn librarians were actually pretty good at picking up signals, it seemed. He was even more shocked that Rodney had asked her out, at least sort of. "Wow, he actually asked you out?" He paused for a moment, catching himself. "I mean...His a bit of a charmer, but he keeps this kind of thing to himself usually. He smiled cooly as he continued listening to the woman.
When her hand twitched and he noticed that she was in some pain with the hand, saying that a patron had gotten violent with him, he became concerned. In a library of all places? Didn't people have any morals these days? "Does that kind of thing happen a lot? Sorry to intrude, but it just doesn't seem like something that...Should continue happening. Did you tell anyone?" He was concerned, he didn't know if it was just a 'patron' or someone more, but obviously couldn't ask this woman.
He shrugged at her compliment with a slight smile. "So theres me and Rodney, who was the third?" He asked curiously, the smile still on his face. Although he was smiling, he was still concerned about Merry being abused, apparently. Maybe it was fate that he came to the library after all?

Merry tilted her body slightly as she regarded him, "I'm sure the library staff would love your impression of us." she chuckles softly at him and winked. She noticed his slight discomfort, "Don't worry I won't keep you long, Axel. I just didn't feel comfortable discussing my private life so openly." she admits quietly as she sits down and crosses her legs demurely.
Tilting her head so her curls spilled over her shoulder, she laughed softly, "Don't worry.. I llike Rodney I think he's a very nice guy. You don't need to sell him to me. I'm sure we'll go out for coffee at some point." she smiled widely at him and her cheeks turned red letting him know that there might be more than just a casual like or Rodney.
She bit her lip, "I didn't tell anyone. No one would have believed me anyway...." she sighed, "Homeless people pee in the potted plants from time to time we get some real "special" folks in here. Believe me being bitten by a homeless guy is not the worse thing I've been exposed to." she shuddered, "If I had a dime for every guy that asked me if I did library porn I'd be rich." she sighed softly, "My friend Everett probably has something for it. If I take it to a doctor they'll ask me what sort of snake bit me. I did a bit of holistic healing though. Bit of clean water and astringent to make sure anything was flushed out. My cousin Sienna is a nurse I just want my friend Everett to double check."
With grace from many years of ballet she shrugged her shoulders, "His name was Connor. He drove me home when he found me wrapping my hand up." She couldn't tell him the truth. Vampires didn't exist for mundane folks. She wasn't lying either. If he asked more and t of the magical community she would admit what happened but she wasn't going to go and confide in a human.
