He sipped down his pot of cider, looking around the bar softly, as he fidgited with his shoulders on the bar table. He smiled towards the cute bartender who soon provided him with another pot in exchange for his money. He was fairly regular around this bar; it was a nice bar, but at the same time, could be quite uncontrolled and dangerous at times. Although he was technically off work, he was working on one of his assignments currently. He had heard about some strange occurances around this area; customers had reported some rumblings and brawls out the back, and some deaths had been reported here very recently, which was never a good sign. Bars could be pretty surreal at times, but people dying at one? That was just crazy, and something was definantly going on here which was uncontrolled.
He took a sip of his drink, realizing how pathetic it probably looked for him to be sitting here by himself. To others they may not understand the reasoning, but it was pretty logical to him. He wasn't here to socialise, he was undercover; but on the same note, socialising was never bad. He was lonely in many ways, always looking for that someone who can make him happy and fill the void. Although bars were not always the most productive places for meeting people, they provided results. Results he wasn't going to get from going to a coffee shop or walking down the mall.
He eyed the bartender, who knew he was undercover. "Has anything 'odd' been happening around here lately?" He asked curiously, but the bartender replied with a no, causing him to sigh softly in thought. What could it have been? Looking around at the people, they looked slightly wild, but normal wild. Not killing people wild. Nobody here looked like they really had any intentions of getting involved with that kind of thing. There must be some kind of clues or evidence which would be able to help him out in this situation. Although doing this beats the piles of paperwork, it was still a difficult task. He had to be certain, and he had to be at the right place at the right moment. It only takes an instant to kill someone and cover it up.

(Hope you don't mind me jumping in Rhys, but I couldn't resist XD It looked interesting.)
Lily walked into LA Fever, a popular hotspot for university students, and a popular place for a strange rising in crime. One of her informants told her about something strange going on here, though she'd been keeping an eye on the place after Gwen had heard a strange noise that sounded like a scream from the back, but no one else had seemed to hear it. Lily didn't like the fact that the crime rate around the club had spiked, and if she could find something out, she planned on knocking at one of her cop friends doors to run in a favor.
However, as she began to walk up to the bar to get a drink, she saw a cop she knew. She paused for a moment. He hadn't noticed her yet, and he seemed to be sitting alone. A spot was open next to him, and she shrugged. Why not.
"Well, well, if it isn't Daniel Cooper." She didn't know if he was undercover or something, she knew a lot of cops who went to bars to sit there under cover, waiting for something to happen. She didn't want to spoil it. "Coke please," She told the woman tending the bar, and she nodded before getting Lily's order. Lily turned back to Daniel.
"Well, what brings you out to the university's nightlife, hmm?"

He took another sip from his drink as he noticed the private investigator Lily approach him and order a drink at the bar. He smiled softly. She seemed like a good person, from just basic first impressions of her in the station recently and of what he was told from his colleagues who had worked directly with her. For that reason, he respected what she was doing and the help she had provided to the force over time. He did respect private investigators in many ways, they worked hard to help out in the cases which the force weren't able to reach, or even ones which are unfortunately ruled as 'unsolved' due to lacking depth of facts in the case. He disliked cases like that. Call him a perfectionist or a sore loser, but he disliked not being able to finish a case and find a solution and bring someone to justice, whilst helping the innocent party out in the process. He disliked the thought that some criminal was out there getting away with murder (in some cases literally), and more innocents would suffer because the force had let them down by not finding the truth.
He glanced over at Lily as she asked what business he had here. "I presume I could ask the same question to you Lily, but I gather you would have similar business to me. That is, unless I am out of line and you enjoy the company of all these teenagers." He glanced around at them all dancing, having a good time. There was nothing wrong with that, it was just the rumored trouble that seems to frequently occur here. "I don't mind this place, usually shift between the bars in this city every now and then. Seems to have a comforting atmosphere here, so far anyway." He saw as the bartender put down the coke in front of Lily, and put a note in front of the bartender. "Its on me," he stated to the bartender, who nodded and took the money. Maybe he could learn more about Lily and the kind of cases she was involved with. He remembered her mentioning one, but it was always good to discuss different cases, as long as he was able to maintain his cover. After all, he was posing as the lonely person drinking alone. Actually, there didn't seem to be much acting involved, until he found a companion.

"I presume I could ask the same question to you Lily, but I gather you would have similar business to me. That is, unless I am out of line and you enjoy the company of all these teenagers."
Lily shrugged, but felt amusement at his comment. "Yeah, well, I had someone tell me she thought she heard something strange in the back room. Then I hear from other people that the crime rate is getting worse." She smiled slightly. "I guess we both had the same thought, hm?"
"I've never really been here. A friend of mine came and said it was alright, but I'm not big on bars." She glanced at him when he paid for her drink, and smirked. "Thanks," She said as she sipped her coke. "Big spender." She turned to lean her back up against the bar and sipped at her soda again, like someone might if there was rum mixed with the coke.
"So I told you what I heard about it. What'd you hear?" She glanced at him from the corner of her eye while still paying attention to the rest of the room. Lily was rarely ever off guard. From some of the things Gwen had told her, it sounded like a vamp might be around here somewhere. After Lily had found out Gwen was a witch, she also found out there were a lot more things out there than witches and humans.
She wasn't about to tell the clearly human cop about the things that go bump in the night though. He wouldn't believe her, and Lily wasn't even sure she believed herself, though she had seen Gwen lift something off a table. Without using her hands.
Lily glanced towards the back room briefly, but she didn't see anyone coming in or out of it just then. That had been where Gwen had heard the scream coming from. Lily couldn't hear anything coming from there either, but Gwen had been right next to the wall and right then, the music was thumping loud enough to almost give Lily a headache. "Think its loud enough in here?" She questioned idly.

It seemed like he wasn't the only one who had noticed the influx of crime cases recently. His co-workers had just reassured him that it happens from time to time, but he knew there was something more to it. There had to be, crime had always been higher in Los Angeles, but why the sudden rapid increase? It didn't make any sense to him, but he was relieved to know that he wasn't crazy or something, and that Lily had noticed this as well. It was strange, yet comforting to know that Lily had similar sources to decide to check out this place, showing that their two investigations were similar in details on where some crime had taken place. He guessed time would tell to determine if their sources and investigations were accurate in leading them here, or it was just a mistake.
"I'm not overly fond of bars myself, but it seems to be the only way to meet people in this town; or in this case, run into familiar faces." He smiled softly towards Lily as he took another sip from his glass, enjoying the crisp and smooth taste of the cider. He smirked softly at Lily's comment. "Well to be honest with you, even if you chose the most expensive bottle of wine on the bar menu, I still would've shouted you. As long as you shared it, that is." He was kind of old-fashioned in that aspect, he liked shouting drinks for other women, it just didn't feel right to see the woman buy her own drink, no matter how well off she was. It was a kind of respect for them, in a way and appreciation, one could suggest.
Lily then asked what he had heard about the night. Although he was undercover and technically not supposed to share his secrets with everyone, Lily wasn't just anyone, she was on business too it seemed, and had helped him out recently which he appreciated. "Been reading some reports recently, and noticed there was a odd trend of events occuring here within the past month or so, which has picked up a lot from what I believe. This place was usually low-key, so the sudden emergence of crime just sparked my interest. Something seems up, and I want to find out what exactly."
At Lily's last comment, he nodded towards her in agreement. "Too loud, I think. Makes it difficult to really focus on everything going on. From what I researched, a lot of the attacks happen in the back alley, where your suggested bystander reported. I'm hoping that by posing around the bar, I'll have a more clear indication of everything, and hopefully be able to prevent more crimes happening here."

Lily laughed when he said how bars seemed to be the only way to meet people in town. It was true enough though, but she still hated bars. It might have been because she hated most people, too. Or at least hated large groups of them like this. But this was to keep innocents from getting hurt, and she was willing to dive straight in if she needed to.
Lily smiled back at Daniel. She liked him. She thought, from some of the things he'd said at their first meeting and now here at the bar, that he was a good cop. She respected good cops.
"Well to be honest with you, even if you chose the most expensive bottle of wine on the bar menu, I still would've shouted you. As long as you shared it, that is."
Lily laughed. It surprised her that it was a real laugh, instead of the ones she used to get people to talk to her because they saw her as being friendly. "Well, you're in luck. I don't much like alcohol and when I do, I don't like wine."
Lily sobered up quick, though, when he started talking about why he was there, and it reminded her of why she was there. She listened quietly, sipping at her coke and leaning back against the bar, eyes just barely open so it looked like she might be getting drunk already. Her actions were instinct, she was under cover and "drinking". "I'd like to find out, too," She said, opening her eyes and turning to face him. "Well, what do you suggest doing first?" She'd let him run this one. He was here first, and she didn't mind following as long as the leader wasn't an idiot. And she didn't think Daniel was an idiot.
She tilted her head when he agreed that the music was too loud. "Yeah... Too loud." She shook her head and sighed. She didn't like people being able to sneak up on her, even though no one would in a bar. Well not usually... Lily mused as she remembered the one guy that attacked her in the bar awhile back. That was an amusing night.
Lily nodded in agreement with his last comment. "Well," She set her empty glass down. "Let's go dance." She grinned at him, and tilted her head towards the dance floor. She leaned in close, like she was flirting, though she just didn't want anyone to overhear her. "The music isn't quite so loud we might not be able to hear some conversations if we stick to the edges of the floor, and nearer to some of the booths along the wall there. We might hear something they think is private."

Lily asked him what he thought they should do first. He took a quick moment to think as he eyed around at the dancing people. He then turned back to Lily. "I've been observing some things for the past half an hour or so, in between the football on the t.v, and I have noticed a few suspicious people who have been doing very little apart from watching people from a distance. Kind of like what we're doing, except that we're the only ones with the badge. They are plotting something, I'm thinking battery. Probably lure them in with a dance, persuade them to go out the back for some more fun, then assault them, and probably, most likely, kill them." He finished, taking a longer sip of his drink. He had seen it too many times, the weird stab wounds in the neck which looks as if someone was using garden tools to kill people. He really wouldn't put it past people in this city. Anything could be used as a weapon.
He was slightly stunned when she asked him to dance, not like he wouldn't have loved the opportunity to dance with such an attractive woman, but hadn't expected it, considering they were discussing business. However he soon realized Lily was smarter than he gave her credit for, as it was the perfect distraction and alias for them, while getting a closer look at some of the action. "I like your thinking," He replied with a smirk as he stood up and skulled the rest of his drink. He heard her whisper into his ear, and was actually rather impressed with Lily's plan. He nodded as she finished speaking, with a smile towards her. "Could definantly see that working. I think if we take a posistion near those people over there, we'll have a good chance of hearing something we shouldn't." He had pointed towards the group of people who had previously looked suspicious, eyeing people off relentlessly. He then begun moving closer to the dancefloor, trying not to look like he was onto anyone, or anything.

Lily smiled at Daniel's observation skills. Even cops didn't always have as good of skills as he did, and it amused her for some reason, that he had noticed the same things she had. "I'd been thinking that too," She agreed with a sigh. "But what I want to know is how no one seems to hear anyone screaming out there. I find it hard to believe that no one yells for help when they're being assaulted..." She glanced around, then turned back when he said that he liked her thinking. She grinned at him, and stepped away, offering her hand with a glittering amusement hiding behind her eyes.
"Well, partner, lets get out there and dance," Lily said with a laugh. She glanced to where he motioned towards, just out of the corner of her eyes, but nodded slightly, just enough that only Daniel would notice. "No, I agree," She said. She wanted to frown, but she kept the smile, though it turned a bit hard. "I thought it was a bit odd the way they were talking, almost defensive as if they don't want to be overheard." She glanced back at Daniel, and her smile turned almost predatory at the thought of getting her mark. "Let's get over there then," She said, motioning for him to take her hand.
