Nox Aeterna: Latin for Forever Night.
For untold eons, there were the Primordials. They were the supernatural beings that came before modern day werewolves and vampires. These creatures were beasts of unspeakable power. The Umt Uha, beasts that are the ancestors of the werewolf and the Nocturni, ancestors of the modern vampire, waged war with one another in prehistoric times. These great titans killed off the dinosaurs, and wages a bloodthirsty war on one another that never relented. These creatures were abominations of the worst kind, said to have been made from the remnants of Chaos, itself when the gods of ancient, forgotten religions and those that still breathe life into the world today, created this universe. Being unable to ever truly die, the Umt Uha and the Nocturni wages an endless war with neither side dying out, and their animalistic minds showing no sign of stopping. The world, alone in a universe that was still inside its crib, seemed like it would be a world of the immortals. However, as all seemed futile, the Powers That Be, brought forth humanity into the world. With the arrival of these beings, came those that were infused with the power of magic as well. And as such, humanity was able to fight back the Primordials into the very bowels of the earth, imprisoning them for all time. However, as the last, dwelling numbers of the Primordials began to fall, some managed to breed with those humans that could not wield magic. Thus, the first werewolves and vampires were birthed into existence, and the world as we know it began to take its first steps into its destiny into becoming the world it is today.
Not long after the creation of mankind, there came other creations from the gods, and even the very earth, itself. While the descendants of the Primordials still walked the earth, the werewolves and vampires living alongside one another in peace, and also trying to keep their existence hidden from humanity along with all other supernatural beings, there are still those that still cling to the ways of old that depict their kind as bloodthirsty killers. Now, however, there are other beings of great magic and power. Shapeshifters, witches, ghosts, and even demons and a rare whisper of angels. All living amongst a vast population of unsuspecting humans. Some however, are well aware of the supernatural. For those that accept the paranormal, they keep their secret. However, for those that do not stand for the evils that some commit, there are the Hunters: humans that oppose and fight against the evils of the supernatural, using highly advanced technological weaponry and defenses combined with magic. For those that mean no harm to humanity, the Hunters show no interest in them, some are even members of this world-wide organization. However, those that are killers, die. This world has greatly evolved since the dawn of creation, and now this world. This tiny world now finds itself as just a planet in a universe of Eternal Darkness.
