Shannell stared at the different notes above the room, as she heard about a guy totally into music, like she was and she was really excited to go out and meet him. Only problem, her mind today, it seemed, was pulling up complete blanks and gaps and she had no resources to fill them up again. So, she was staring up ahead, trying to figure out which way to go, already knowing she was probably walking in circles.
Come on, she thought as she looked through he hallway and sighed, it can't be this hard, get it together. Once she managed to do just that, she had quickly enough found her way – after about ten minutes of looking – and was now knocking on the guy's, whom she heard his name was Eli's, room. He was also supposed to be sharing the room with someone else, from what she heard from her bff Lisa. Lisa was working in the library and somehow still managed to know everything about everyone, it was creepy to know that she probably had an educated guess on having a secret as well.
Now, if only he was in his room, or she would have come here for no reason. She had already done her homework and truth was, she was bored out of her wits, to the point where she really wanted to go meet up new people with the same interests as her, which in this case involved music. No thinking and just, you know.. jamming. She liked that.

There is one thing he would like to know. What did this happen? A lot of things had happened to him. The first time he had had sex, the time he crashed his car through the school hall 'by accident' and even the first time he was on stage and sang his heart out. None of that could possibly bring him down to performing the lowest of the lowest. And that was folding laundry. Thayer was out doing - um - something and Eli said he would do the washing. What did he say that? He didn't do washing. Folding was hard enough but he was just lucky that washing machines had big buttons to tell him what to do otherwise he would be screwed. He was folding up one of his 'Simple Plan' t-shirts as he sat on the ground with an open blue flannel button up, jeans and with no socks and no undershirt. He obviously looked like he was in for a boring afternoon in the dorm.
Putting a pile to the side, he wondered. He had music on in the background from his Ipod and he had the TV on MTV. He was missing something. Something essential, to make the day a little bit less dull. That was pizza with no cheese unless you wanted him to shoot himself up to the moon like a rocket. Lactose intollerant crap. Getting up from the ground, he hurried into the kitchen to the left over pizza in the fridge from one of Thayer and Eli's 'too-lazy-to-cook-or-go-anywhere' moods which consisted of pizza and like four bottles of coke. Putting it in the microwave he waited patiently until he heard a knock at the door. Visitors today, now this just ain't right. Stepping over piles of clothes, he got to the door. His shirt was barely hanging off his body now so he either looked like he had been date-raped or that he was busy. Pick one.
Unlocking the three locks that were on the door, he twisted the nob and pulled it open. He was expecting maybe Kyra or Claire or one of the band members. Instead he had pretty and brunette. "Uh, hi".He wasn't too sure who she was or what she wanted but he really couldn't remember her. It was just blank - wait - no. It was the prettiest girl in school, now he remembered. He heard all about her in music. Apparently she is pretty good with her lungs and some 'guy-talk'. Some seriously disturbing shit but at least some info non-the-less. "Oh - uh - Shannon right?". Wrong dickhead, but we will get to that later?

Being assigned up with the one and only Kyra, made sure that Shannelle rather not came to her dorm at all, which was exactly why she was out of it most of the times, as she really had no idea what to think of the girl. Well, she wasn't sure what the girl thought of her either, so on that ground, they were pretty much even.
Shannelle had been a good girl all the same, until two months ago, that is, but she had no idea what people really thought of her since then. Of course she had gotten into some arguments, but those always ended up the right way, in the end. With help from a lot of third parties, not to forget, but still! She hoped her image wasn't that badly damaged and people still liked her.
“Hi.” Shannelle greeted cheerfully, as she looked at him, with a surprised look by how his shirt was hanging on his body. “Bad timing?” She asked, not knowing if he was busy with something, or.. someone. When he asked her name, she chuckled slightly, at how he got it wrong and secretly found it a shame he wasn't straight.. At least no with what she had heard. He looked great and he was amazing at music. “Shannelle.” She corrected him, before quickly realizing she hadn't told him why she was here yet, stupid, stupid! “I uh, heard how amazing you are at music and I was really looking for someone to jam.”

She seemed nice enough. He didn't remember anyone calling her a bitch, so she must be okay. He smiled at her, trying not to look kind of stressed or - well - impatient. Her eyes traveled up his body, looking kind of confused as to what he was up to. At first he was like 'dude, is she checking me up. tots barking up very wrong tree'. Then he realized. The shirt was open, hanging over a shoulder and he hadn't even noticed. Yes, he looked like a slut. It wasn't shame but pure hope that she wouldn't take him as some kind of sex maniac at two o'clock in the afternoon. Grabbing both sides of the shirt, he pulled them over his chest. "What, no. No - - no, I was doing laundry. Just doing .... laundry". I'm not a slut, I'm not a slut, I'm not a slut. Hopes of telepathic messaging never really work.
Also he got her name wrong. Eli Diastone is now a snobby slut! He shook his head, feeling like a dip shit and then looked back up to her. "Uh, sorry. Kind of scatter brained. I'm Eli by the by". Holding out his hand for her to take, he smiled friendly. She seemed cool anyways. Not snobby or hating on him that he didn't know her name. Well he shouldn't anyway, he had never met this chick before. She was probably friends with Claire anyways, she is usually hanging around these kind of girls. The pretty kinds with good attitudes. They were kind of admirable. Lowering his hand after, he stuck his hands in her pockets. The smile remained, he didn't really know what to do.
He got her proposition. He was in a band dude, no wonder she heard that. And he did rock, just so you know. He had the bands practice set in his room anyways and Thayer wasn't home so it was all good. "Yeah? I heard you have a pre' good voice too. But yeah, come in. Just excuse the mess, my room mates a slob". Yes, let's blame it on the roommate. Stepping to the side against the door, he provided room for her to scoot on past. Also, it was a girl. He always got along with them and something even better - no strings attached.

Shannell certainly wasn't going to dislike him, just because he got her name wrong, she knew his, but that may also just be because it was an easy enough name to remember anyhow. She patiently waited for him to pull his shirt back together and nodded. “Sure you were.” She said dryly.
She shrugged hardheartedly at his comment about her name. “It's okay. And I know, you're name's not easy to forget.” She said, with a smile, as she shook his hand. She had never really met him and right now she actually started to regret that. He seemed pretty cool and surely nice enough, so that really was a good thing she guessed.
“You heard, huh? Well, I just like music and it's a nice pull away from my studies. I study Geology and history, you see. And that tends to get boring at times.” She nodded and waited for him to get out of the way, so she could enter his room. “Well, I don't mind, I'm not the tidiest person, myself.” She walked into the room and turned back at him. “Besides, my roommate, Kyra, I'm sure you heard of her, she's not exactly around much, or we just tend to miss out on each other without us knowing it.” She shrugged slightly and looked around. “I've seen worse messes, my brother really knows how to make a room look like a bomb exploded in there, so I'm not easily impressed anymore.”

Okay, it was inevitable now. She probably thought he was a slut towards how twitchy she put that. His smiled gaze looked down slightly in a bit of doubt. This wasn't the best first impression he had ever had. But he decided to handle the situation he how he handled most awkward ones; with a joke. "Ah, well when you come in please excuse my bitches and hoes". He smirked as he crossed his arms and his shoulder leant against the doorway as he looked towards her. It suited because right now he looked like a sleezy farmer boy with a little bit more charm then its worth. "Don't worry, it's just been one of those mornings. Like the 'not-caring-what-I-look-like-so-shirt-adjustment-is-forgotten' kind of deal". He said casually and then proceeded to move.
Okay, she knew his name. At least that part was less awkward now. It easy and when the band was spoke of, being the singer he was usually pieced out. 'Dude, did you see Eli and the Broken-Hearted Bastards?' It didn't bother him but he had to admit, at times he really was a broken hearted bastard. His last relationship, his boyfriend banged the next door neighbour and if Eli didn't hear a name getting screamed he wouldn't have known. Bobby Chase; that son of a bitch! Hence why he chose that name. "Oh, okay". She moved past him as he waited for her to pass and then shut the door. He couldn't be bothered locking it again. Like three locks man, how draining.
She told him about the topics he studied, and it made him cringe. He wasn't really the most intellectual butterfly that fluttered around this campus. He was much more into practical stuff so therefore music is a good alternative. Screw math, but when she revealed it was boring he rose an eyebrow. "Yeah, I can see how that could be boring. Nothing against you if your into that stuff but for me - geology and history sounds like a friggin nightmare". He smirked and moved over to the couch and pulled off some of his jeans and a lap top and tossed them onto his bed so she could sit. Standing sucked and he knew this. Also took some of the awkward tension of the air.
Awkwardness increased whenhe found out she was Kyra's room mate. And he thought that history was a bad dream. Kyra was queen bitch and she knew it, and Eli couldn't stand it. If she wants to be superior, fine. Just don't be a bitch while your at it. "I know Kyra, and not talking to her much isn't a terribly bad thing you know". Sitting on the arm-rest of the couch, he started to button up his shirt, leaving the top three buttons undone, his chain cross dangling against his skin. Shannelle continued to talk about the messiness of her brother. It was a guy thing obviously; gay or not. "Hmm. So what do you have in mind. I'm up for anything". He had a guitar in its stand, a folded up electric drumkit, a base and others under his bed. Everything you would need for a good jam.

It was funny seeing Eli being uncomfortable by her remark earlier on, even if it was meant as a joke and not to be taken serious at all. She laughed at his comment. “I was joking.” She told him, with a smile, to let him know just this and hopefully make him feel less uncomfortable. Even if it was funny, to begin with. She nodded at his comment. ”Yeah, that sounds fair enough.” she replied, with a smirk.
She waited for him to lock the door.. or close it anyways and laughed again when she saw him cringe. It wasn't like she was that intellectual herself to begin with, but she dreamed of traveling the world and see the histories unfolding for herself.. Which she probably would in about a couple more years. ”Don't worry, I'm not that smart as those subjects make me sound. I actually do it, because I dream of traveling the world and it may come in handy if I just know where to go or what to look for.” She explained, moments before shaking herself from her own dream-like state, she had most of the time, while explaining such a thing to someone.
”But, yeah, it is boring most of the time. She then said, smirking again herself. She waited until he pulled off the jeans and happily sat down. ”Well, I interact fine with Kyra, although I don't get how we're put in the same room, but I thinks she's okay.” She said about Kyra. She honestly thought this of her, because yeah.. She didn't think they'd ever be the best of friends, but she wasn't the worst to be with either.
It was then that she realized she was talking a little bit too much, so she immediately shut up and thought of his question. “Well, I like playing the guittar most of the time.. Even if it is plugged or not. You're in that band 'Broken-Hearted-bastards', right? I mean, it's actually how I knew of you in the first place.” Well, that and having friends who were absolute fans of the band. ”So, what do you have in mind where we can jam with?” It was his room, after all.

Now this just made him feel even more like a complete douche. Revealing that she was joking, the puzzeled guy rose both eye brows innocently. What could he say? Oh, good one. Now get the fuck out of my house! No way he could say that, but it was an exaggerated thought anyway. She had got him, so he took it like a man and let her past as she accepted his excuse for not caring about his appearance. It wasn't that he didn't care, it was just because most of the time there wasn't much use. He may be gay but he is not metrosexual. When he goes out clubbing and such, the situation changes greatly though.
He planted himself on his bed as he looked across at her on the couch. It was admirable about her plan. He gave her a smile. If that is what she wants to do then good for her. He wasn't practical either, but he wanted to reach to the stars as a serious musician. His parents and sometimes even his sister would insist that it was insane, and not everyone makes it in Entertainment LA. But he thought differently, you follow your dreams. "Sounds good. The furthest I have been was - Hawaii and it rained for ten days straight. It was shit. But good for you, I hope it goes well". This is Eli being sincere and kind. It's pretty cute right? But he had to smirk at the end about the boringness. In his mind, he could see those subjects as the boringest of the boring; unless your actually going to use it for something. This chick had her head screwed on right.
Now he knew what she had to do. Shannelle had to live with Kyra for just a bit longer until she will see the claws and the friggin horns on the chicks head. By the amount of shit she had tossed onto Trinity over the years, Eli's restraint on attacking her like a fucking monkey was wearing thin. Not that he would hit a girl, but the matrix action scenarios would flood through his mind for a bit. "That makes one of us. Kyra clashes with my sister a lot. I don't get to friendly when people mess with my people". He smirked with a nod before the decided to properly get down to business.
Luckily for them, an acoustic sat in the corner next to his bed. Maybe it would be fun to have a quiet jam, maybe pass over the strings to this chicka to see what she has got. "Well yeah. My and a few peops from my music class do gigs over LA. Mostly at LA Fever and stuff. You know, I think they will like you. You should meet them some time". He gave her a warm smile before pondering. Humming in thought, he quickly rose and moved over to his steal string. A song laid drapped on it and he flicked it off before picking it up. "Thayer is a messy kid". He covered before moving over to hand it to her. "So, what songs can you play? Hopefully something in the alternative grunge rock style?".

When Shannelle saw his puzzled expression, she realized she was being stupid and really, what could she say? She really was. ”I'm sorry, bad joke." She quickly told him, in hopes he wouldn't get mad at her and really, what was it with her? She'd normally wouldn't get so.. uncomfortable around guys she just met, but then again, that was in fact a whole other life. Well, to be honest, the way he had looked like when he opened the door, had made it pretty dsmn obvious why she felt so uncomfortable.
”Rain in Hawaii? I didn't even know that was possible.” Shannelle said as she looked at him, as he sat down on the bed. She then smiled and nodded slightly. ”So will you. I'm sure the band you're in will really make it.” It wasn't to be nice or whatever, it was the truth. She had heard some of his music and it sounded pretty good. Wait, who was she kidding? It sounded amazing.
”I get that. Half the time I have the idea she is scheming up something and when I get back at campus, I swear she looks at me rather wanting me gone than staying. But, I'd be pissed too in your case, although I don't think she'll ever get to clash with my brother.” Shannelle said, totally understanding what he was getting at. Yes, she wasn't going to be too mean about Kyra, unless of course she deserved it, but in this case? She didn't really think she did.
”I'd really like that.” Shannelle told him honestly, all but welcoming the warm smile. She then got up too and wondered what he had in mind to play. Her taste in music really did vary from all different styles. ”Well, I sure like a lot of music as long as it's no house or techno. I actually started with 'Smoke on the water' recently, cause I couldn't get the song out of my head. It's an amazing song to be playing on a guittar. But, it of course depends on what you like.”

At least she had decency. Apparently his pokerface of not being a prick wasn't that strong, because she appologized. He gave her a half grin, showing that it was okay. If they did become friends and ten years from now, they would laugh there asses off about it. 'So how did you and Eli meet?' 'Oh, um. He opened the door looking like a slut doing the walk of shame'. A great story to be told. A story of awkward uncomfortableness but that was passed them, now it was the session on the couch. It was less awkward there, with Eli laughing. Adjusting his shirt a bit more, kind of paranoidly now, he wondered. That summer Trinity had brought only summer gear. She had got a cold and suffered from that for like three weeks straight after the holiday. "Yeah, neither did I".
The band make it. It was a dream, a long shot but still a dream. He was on his second year in his music course and after that, he hoped that he could probably get signed to a record company or something. That was a hope anyways. He wasn't exactly sure about what the future held for him, or if it held anything at all. But he could dream. "Thanks. I hope". He smiled and looked down. Dreams don't always come true.
The discussion of Kyra wasn't really a happy chappy convo but it was kind of interesting. She was such a bitch and if she didn't expect for people to talk about her then she was severely naive. "Well, I kind of wouldn't mind if she got her ass handed to her. Not violence exactly, but to be shown that the whole entire screwed up world doesn't specifically revolve around Kyra Chamberlain. Her and my sister are kind of in the same clique and - he has given her a lot of shit. It doesn't sit well with me". It really didn't. Trinity was the sweetest chick in the world, and Kyra made her feel the exact opposite. In a way in the back of his mind, he wanted to remind himself of something. To make sure that Kyra does not influence this chick in any way.
Smoke on the water was one of the first chordal songs that Eli had ever learnt. It wasn't a difficult song, and it was classic. Like Classic Rock classic. Like the back of the musical graveyard classic. But he was cool with it, and handing her the guitar he sat back on the couch, swinging an arm over the back and waiting for her. He had a feeling that she probably won't be that bad. If not, maybe he could teach her a thing or two.

Shannelle smiled back as she saw his half-grin and hoped they would become friends, even though she didn't have the best social skills on the planet. It felt awkward and she was kind of expecting it to stay that way for a while, until they broke the ice together and found something non-awkward to talk about.
”I'm sure it will work out fine. I mean, you're good. You and the band. And there's always space to grow and get even better, right?” Shannelle asked with a smile, as she held her head to the side, as she looked at him.
She then listened to what he said about Kyra and shrugged. ”Okay, I can't exact;y say that you're wrong on that. I guess I just haven't seen her bitch-side close and personal yet, then.” She said with a shrug. She had no idea what had happened between Kyra and Eli's sister and she wasn't one to ask questions like that, not exactly knowing how he'd react, but then again, he did start about it himself. ”Can I ask what happened between Kyra and your sister?”
Okay, truth be told, she knew Smoke on the Water was one of the first chordal songs most people played, but she wasn't exactly an expert on the guitar, she was much and much better on the piano and the drums, two totally different instruments, but she knew how to play them anyhow. [b[“I'm actually better at more classical instruments, haven't really played the guitar that long.” She admitted with a smile. ”So, I won't be that good.”

Shannelle was getting an A++ in flatery. She made him feel less lazy and mopey on a boring day and more cheery and motivated. She was cute towards him and the band. Confession is that he usually worried constantly about the band. Were they shit? How can they be better? Will they make it to the top? Usual things that ran throught Eli's mind. The band was a big thing in his life. That, school and partying that is. Music is basically his existence and if he doesn't have success in that, then he wouldn't have anything. When she said that, he gave her a warm smile and a nod. Everything would be okay - hopefully.
She hadn't seen Kyra the way he had. She was new apparently, or hadn't had much to do with the football aspect of college or been in the weary halls of the school because it isn't fun. He remembered Kyra having flirt sessions with Eli but being that Eli is gay, it made life much more funny. Then when she found out, she was a little hoe. He hated her for that. But his angry spot for Kyra mostly manifested on the way she treated his sister. Shannelle didn't know, and he hoped that Kyra wouldn't have a bitchy influence on her room mate. ''Well, suit yourself lucky. The further away you are from her whorible attitude the happier you will be. And with my sister, it's just little things. The way she treats her, the fact that she deliberately flirts with my sister's boyfriend and just some stuff over the years. But for now - let's forget about Kyra for a bit''. With the name temporarily deleted from his mind, he decided to turn his attention back to the matter at hand.
He felt so stupid now. He just grabbed a guitar, but probably made her feel so awkward. Especially if she is just learning. He wanted to junk-punch himself, and when she said that he shook his head. What an idiot he was? But when she said piano, he turned his head towards his bed. Did he? Oh yes he did. A smile rose on his face as he shot towards his bed and pulled out a chordless keyboard. It was in pretty good condition since it is rare that BHB actually use keys in there performances. So it looked pretty good. With a strong arm he reefed it out from under the bed, swinging it onto two arms and lowered it onto the floor. "Ask and you shall receive babe". He smirked as he grabbed the guitar and sat it on his lap, appegiating a few random chords as he looked to Shannelle. "How about a love song then". He smiled towards the brunette, even though he could see there was more to this girl then meets the eye.

Shannelle smiled and nodded. "I can believe that." She said honestly, about Kyra, as she listened to what he said about her. She then laughed as she heard his question. "who were talking about?" She joked, with a smirk on her face. He was cool, like really cool and when things were less awkward between them, she was planning on hanging around a little bit longer, just because she liked him and you could never have too many friends.
Shannelle laughed at his reaction as she said she played the piano and saw him look at the bed. What was he thinking? When he came back with a keyboard, her face lit up. "That's awesome. You're awesome, you know that?" She asked, with a smile. She took the keyboard and looked at him. "Sure, got a song in mind?"
