Strengths:

• Loyal - Alfred is loyal to Marina and the other employees of the Seraphim Foundation. He will defend them if they have need of his services or just be content to fetch and carry as needed.
  
• Cool Under Fire - He is the epitome of the British Butler. You cannot phase him in a crisis situation. He will do what needs to do
  
• Comforting Presence - Alfred always seems to have some words of wisdom when they are most needed. Wether you want to hear them or not.
  
• Eidetic Memory - Alfred remembers everything and can usually find where something is or that appointment that Mari forgot about.
  
• Intelligent - He may appear to be a mild mannered butler but he hides a keen intelligence behind his serene gaze and few realize this.
  
• Gift Teacher - He can help educate others in the use of their gifts within reason. He may not have run into all gifts.

WEAKNESSES

Power Weaknesses:

• Can be banished back to heaven - He may be an angel but he can be sent back to heaven if up against a stronger foe. He may not be able to get back down to earth easily.
  
• Beheading - If you cut his head off he will most certainly go back to his maker.
  
• Limited Power - He is a lesser angel trying to earn his wings back. This means he doesn't have all the angelic mojo he could have.
  

Weaknesses:

• Mari - She is his charge and when she is harmed he feels it as if it were himself including mental anguish.
  
• Hatred of Demons - He despises them and only knowing that there is a grander purpose has stayed his hand from killing the ones in the manor. If they catch him outside the manor his blind hatred may boil over.
  
• Can be recalled at inopportune times. The reason that Alfred hasn't had a big role until now is that he tends to get called upstairs quite a lot at the most inconvenient times.
  
• Guilt ridden - He failed to protect her mother and feels guilt at Mari's injuries and later any sustained by the L.A. team.
  
• Over Protective - He tends to be over protective and suspicious seeing some interactions as beneath Mari's station, not in a classist way so much as a "Its a demon don't talk to it." way.

HISTORY

Alfred was Mari's mothers guardian and teacher back when Anne was young. He helped her to learn her gifts and even activated her powers as a cupid when they first fell in love many years ago. He helped Anne with her charges as much as he could and she never questioned his assistance or loyalty. Not knowing how old he really was or overly much about him apart from a few references to the roman time period on occasion.

Life seemed to be going well for the pair until the powers that be recalled Alfred for becoming too attatched to Anne. It was during this separation that Anne met and married Reginald Sinclaire and gave birth to Mari. All seemed well until Alfred showed back up against the powers that be wishes. He saw Reginald as a danger to his charge and even though he was warned not to he attempted to lash out at him and was stripped of his wings for trying to do his will instead of the will of God.

In punishment, Alfred was left on earth to watch as Anne's relationship deteriorated and fell apart. Reginald, took great delight in knowing it tormented him to know what was happening to the woman he loved. Driving the point home, Reginald often left Alfred with Mari knowing that his sons could banish him at will and often did so just when he was about to protect Mari.

In a final blow Reginald hid his daughter from Alfred on the night he attacked her, putting up wards so that the angel could feel every torture inflicted on her but was prevented from protecting or healing her.

Now, with Reginald gone, Alfred hopes to atone for his sins and protect Mari the way he never could protect her mother.

CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT

Alfred is an NPC. While he has his own story I imagine it will come out as he comes into play. He will serve as mentor, and educator to Mari and Logan when Michael is called away. If someone REALLY likes him they can adopt him.

Sensing Mari's uncertainty he entered the underground rooms via a hidden bookcase that could be opened by depressing a series of books on the shelf. Making his way via the elevator he carried the silver serving tray himself and set it down next to Mari as she worked on some task that had her thinking of the past. Glancing at the screen he had to stop himself from reacting as the sight of her mother on the screen was a shock. He had grown accustomed to not thinking of her every day and seeing her face made him feel guilty that he had forgotten her for even a moment.

Sighing he set out the tray and reported on the days happenings. Logan was making inroads in the food again and Cruise was crashing here more often than not. She didn't seem to worried as she told him to purchase more food and condoms for her lustful cousin. It was a testament to how uncaring she was feeling that she could ask him to get a prophylactic without blushing. He knew this was a bad sign and so as he excused himself he checked to see that someone else was at the entrance way to the underground area. After he stood clear he held the door open for Cruise knowing that Mari would be upset but that she needed her cousin with her right now.
