STRENGTHS

• Seba Mau Powers ::: Cruise is a construct of Egyptian power channelled throughout the ages into one being; the Seba Mau. As the Seba Mau, Cruise is granted enhanced abilities above what is humanly possibly, and relating closely to the powers the cat goddess of Egypt had; Bastet. Cruise has extremely enhanced:
  --- senses: This grants Cruise with night vision and enhanced perception and the ability to ear, taste, touch and smell amazingly especially allowing him to track people.
  --- reflexes & stamina: Cruise has awesome reaction timing, allowing him to move and catch things very fast, granting him great reactions when it comes to combat.
  --- strength: Cruise is much stronger then the average joe. It allows him to fight and flip better, and he is even able to classically leap building tops in a single bound; and always land on his feet.
  --- speed: His speed allows him to run, move and fight very fast in instinctive reflexes.
  --- flexibility: Cruises bone structure is relatively human, but his joins are much more capable then other people, allowing him to perform drastic stunts and be fine afterwards.
  --- cat transformation: Cruise is able to bend his structure and transform into a black, silky cat as a disguise for his guardian responsibilities, which kind of works well for him. What cute girl or closet musculine guy doesn't want to sit a cat on their lap and give 'em a good pat.
  
  
• Perceptive Abilities: With enhanced physical functions, Cruise is also able to access high perceptive abilities. He has an enhanced perception which allows him to see things is much more detail then others do. He notices and observes things on instinct. By being able to see things to such detail, it allows him to perform amazing feats. Such as kicking a bullet out of mid air or noticing a next person's move. An extension of this gift is predictive object trajectory, granting Cruise the ability to see the direction and possibly destinations for objects. He can sense where something will hit but also, how surfaces will effect a trajectory. This allows him to throw a disc, bounce it off of seven surfaces and still hit his target.
  
  
• Telepathic ::: The age old question that cat's know what was feel and think is answered, since Cruise has a definite telepathic ability to hear peoples thoughts. He can't transmit or read minds, but receive the thoughts of someone from the second of thinking about them. This is helpful when sussing people out, getting the truth and picking up chicks by knowing exactly what they want.
  
  
• Sex Appeal ::: Just look at him ladies and gents. Cruise has a pride and honor in his looks, and takes it as a responsibility. This is a strength when getting to know people, or getting 'it in' with people, and also allows him to appeal to people and for them to trust him in ways. He just uses the lure and that whole country boy charm.
  
  
• Freedom ::: In a degree, Cruise's level of freedom gives him a relatively normal life on occassions. He is a bartender at LA Fever which he loves for the drinks, the people and the hook up potential, but he also is restricted on freedom for good reasons. Being the Seba Mau, he has the responsibility to be a 'familiar', a look out for particular people and being stationed in LA, he is commonly told to be a kind of cat guardian angel to most; and must report back to the Egyptian High Priestess; Valla.
  
  
• Loyal ::: When it comes to his charges and to his friends and family; they do take a priority. If it means finding them a way home when they are drunk and sloppy, or coming to the rescue by rushing across buildings; he will be there. Loyalty isn't a small thing for this cat. He cares a lot - some might say a bit too much for those special people in his life. But don't get me wrong; he can be a jerk when he wants to be.

WEAKNESSES

• Cocky ::: The biggest flaw to Cruise is his ego, which is bigger then his arms. He is a very self-centred and up-himself person, and won't miss an opportunity to brag on himself and know how good he is. Though he isn't doing what he wants to be and is a freak near all the way through, he doesn't let it get him down but his excessive talk-ups of himself do get in the way of him and other people.
  
  
• Selfish ::: Cruise can be a really really greedy guy and very selfish. When it comes to his benefit and another persons, he will take the easiest and best way out for him. This doesn't apply when it comes to friends, but he is usually a snob and a player to hook ups and doesn't care for many people beside the people in his life. It is a flaw that can render him kind of incapable of finding new and cool friendships - and love to be a big challenge.
  
  
• Cat-Form Vulnerability ::: As a cat, Cruise isn't exactly a were-cat or anything. It is a small half-aged cat which looks like any black cat you see in a passing alleyway. If he is hit, or put in danger he is only as fast or as strong as any feline, which is why he mostly uses this ability as a disguise, to watch his charges and to get out of sticky situations. Though telepathy can be accessed while in cat-form.
  
  
• Opening Up ::: Being a playboy and kind of making any emotional connection into a physical one, he has become a kind of closed off person when it comes to what is going on inside his head. With an exception of Mari maybe, he tells what is going on and people he is close too, but most of the time he can be taken as a very unserious person.
  
  
• Weaknesses ::: As a Seba Mau, he has his weaknesses:
  --- snake venom - if a place is scented with snake venom, Cruise can't answer it. It acts as a kind of mystical guard where he can not pass. If he enters, he will choke until he gets far enough away to be able to recover.
  --- gold elixir - Gold is a sacred and amazing mineral in Egyptian times, and some believed it had its own powers, more commonly with absorbing. It is an old Egyptian rumor that demi-gods overpowered Bastet by polluting her blood with gold shards, and stopped her powers. If Cruise has an elixir with gold shavings injected into his blood stains, his powers will be temporarily nullified.
  --- mortal wounds - Cruise might be strong but he is not immune from injury. If fatal or life threatening, he can not heal himself and endurance is hard to achieve. Maybe that is helpful that he would possibly meet a healer ;)
  
  
• Pride ::: Cruise has pride in his appearance, his personality and who he is, and though his pride becomes recklessness. His pride either becomes a liability when he is reckless when it comes to timely or dangerous situations, or it is a delicate topic for people to attack and usually makes him a kind of brawler a tad bit, well sometimes at least.

HISTORY

Mythology was just a term scientists created about beliefs and religious entities that can not be logically explained. If only they lived centuries ago would they knew the power of these so called 'Mythological Gods'. Ancient Egypt was flooded with dieties, gods and goddesses of all kinds and powers, but one goddess took a kind of dominion over the Egyptian world. These being; Bastet, ruled with power over the feline entities and spirits, being treasured as a strong and powerful figure of cat power. But Ancient Egypt was years ago, and the powers of Bastet were prophesized to awaken as a new generation of Egyptian magic, and a new generation of protector for the world. And since the balance of good and evil has been tipped in the demonic centre of Los Angeles, destiny was written for one man to change all of this, and to protect those around him. To behold the responsibilities of the Seba Mau; the decendent of Bastet and to hold the magic of the once great goddess. His name is Cruise Webster; and he is anything but what the gods above could have hoped for - believe me!

Cruise Joseph Webster was born in Caldwell Parish, Louisiana to Charmer Webster and Kyleen Morrison. Charmer and Kyleen were lead the farming life in the small Louisiana town, where they lived and worked on a farm. Love between them? If there ever was, and these two country kids loved each other greatly. Their wedding was held in the property barn, and for seven years they had lived on the land together. When the topic of kids rose, the biggest worry was that the kid would have high blood pressure or something. Kyleen having had her little sister have a baby only six years ago, decided that it was time for Charmer and her to start a family. With Kyleen's French/Irish background and Charmer being mostly Greek American - with a vague lineage from Egypt, they decided to have the cutest baby imaginable. The nine months went fast, but when the ultrasound showed the baby to have some kind of unknown abnormality, the worried couple decided to depend on a home birth. Through hours of pain, Cruise was born. But instead of a cute little kid, Kyleen gave birth to a kitten. Was it the end of the world? A sign of the appocolypse? Horrified, the next few hours were the hardest. Should they kill it, and pretend it never happened. But they couldn't, and Charmer didn't know what to do. But then, almost automatically the small black kitten morphed into the slightly tanned and black-hair sprouting baby with the brightest smile. It was a thank God for home birthing but also, a reason to question God on what was wrong with their baby.

For the first few years of Charmer's life, it was hard to let people see him. When family and such would come over to visit the little baby, unless it was family would Kyleen and Charmer actually let anyone hold him because if he got excited, he would turn into a cat. It was eery, but once the shock was over people actually thought it was cute. A cute little country baby who occassionally turned into a little black tabby. He was exceptionally close with his older cousin; Mari who looked after him and always wanted to 'pat the little kitty Cruise'. These cousins are close to this day. He was a happy child, and his parents could not treat him like a freak, so they brought him up as they originally planned. Only thing was that they could not get a dog since a trip to the pet store was like dogs playing catch with a kitten. But luckily for Kyleen, things were going to be okay.

And things were, with the exception of some playdates which turn into another kid patting a mysterious kitten. But Kyleen and Charmer worked well to keep Cruise out of the spotlight and seen as a freak. They succeeded mostly, but Kyleen wanted answers. Though Kyleen turned her back on her family and more importantly her father, she still used the supernatural resources to try and find out what her son was. He could have been a skin walker, but it was a genetic trait. He could be a friggin alien, but this was not a sci fi convention. But as she decided to track Charmer's ancestory on her research spree, she found it. Charmer's ancestory to Egypt showed his family line, to be linked to the followers of Bastet; a cat goddess. But Kyleen still wanted more, and followed this. Beside Cruise being a cute little kid, always up for talking and chatting and such and a real 'boy' which is what his father wanted. He started pee-wee football, got involved in sports and stuff to keep him busy. They knew that Cruise had an idea that he was different - definitely since as a four year old he didn't see anyone else turning into animals. As Kyleen reached any Egyptian contact on legends and history and Charmer was busy running the farm on the harvest, Cruise was getting put on the bench. For a four year old, he was not only moving a lot more faster then the other kids but unintentionally hurting them, whether it be an accidental barge or collisions when on the field. This is when the couple found that he wasn't just turning into cats, but was much strong, father and perceptive to other kids. It started when Cruise would throw a football twenty metres at the age of five, and hit his target. It was then that they would find him scaled up the highest tree, or pouncing on top of furniture with strength and skill that no one at his age should have. Kyleen decided to look harder but with no luck, just references to the Webster line for people to look out for.

Cruises powers were always surprising as he grew up. Though he was always sociable but hid his secret from any school friends, he was always sensitive. Well - at least when he was younger. Since his parents forbid any sport in worry that people would notice he was different, kids would start picking on him. It was hard for Kyleen to see her eight year old son climbing on top of the barn after being picked on at school. He was a sweet kid, but as he got older things got more complicated. No hobbies, no sports and he was never aloud at sleepovers, but kids could come to his place because that way - Charmer and Kyleen were able to keep an eye on Cruise. Kyleen kept a journal, dating each time something strange or enhances that Cruise gets expose himself:

Charmer thought it was a good way for Cruise to be able to hone his abilities more, so that he could control them through discipline and mental control. They had to do something, and three days a week Cruise went. Mr Duke would say 'Tha' there boy is ah natural!', shows how much he didn't know. With this, Cruise kind of gained more confidence. Now days, people would say Cruise is anything but confident, but it had to be rebuilt. Things took a turn though when Cruise was eleven and heard his mother say she was struggling, without her lips moving. As a smart woman, Kyleen learnt that this gift was 'telepathy' and allowed Cruise to hear other people's thought. She told him that even though it is passive, not to abuse it. At the time, it was creepy enough that Cruise couldn't even think of using it for anything then a way to win '20 Questions'. When he turned 13, purberty ensured. Charmer was prepared for the talk, but it was more complex. Would Cruise ever be able to have kids? And if he did, would they be like him? But quickly, all the little girl crushes were on Cruise. As his whole school grade were getting zits and hormones, things steamed up for Cruises social life at school when attention was drawn to him. The thirteen year old with abs, can fight and has a deep tan. Every little princesses dream, especially through some of the no-teeth red-neck children of the lower class.

As Cruise grew up as a child, Kyleen and Charmer had their worries but when Cruise came into teenage-hood, things went a bit sour. He started rebelling, and playing football even though he wasn't aloud too. At the age of fourteen he had had sex with a sixteen year old girl, and using his telepathy to cheat in every test to get top in the class, so his cool status was staying which was good enough for him. But Charmer and Kyleen did not bring up their little boy that way, and as they fell pregnant with a little girl and Cruises' sister, they worried that it was going to be a monster. But they could handle it, but to their fortune she came out as a beautiful and human little girl; Lacy. It hurt when he heard Kyleen's mental relief 'Thank god she is normal!'. Cruise still remembers that to this day. This only amplified his rebellion, but in order to try and keep his home life normal he did the usual. His powers were great with chores because he was fast and didn't run out of energy easily, and was good at operating machinery and such at the age of fifteen. But he was also sneaking out and going drinking, and even smoking sometimes. Kyleen knew when she would find his bed empty in the middle of the night, but didn't say anything. She didn't want to push him away, so she hid it from Charmer.

Then only a few days before Cruises sixteenth, while Cruise and Lacy went to their aunt's for the weekend, Kyleen got a phone call from a woman from Egypt. She knew everything, and not because she knew of Charmer's relatives in Egypt. But because she was a high priestess of second sight. Valla could see visions of the future, and of the present from miles away, and by Kyleen's reference she found the Seba Mau, and took the first plane to Louisiana. Valla was an old Egyptian woman, very into the legends and religion and met with Kyleen. Kyleen was keen on finding out all she could on what exactly her son was, and Valla had the answers. Valla told her; Cruise is the decendent of the Egyptian cat goddess; Bastet. The powers of the cat were driven down through the line, awakening in the needing generation where evil would be at its peak. Now was then, and Cruise has the combined powers of ten men with strength, was as fast as a leopard, has the perception of a supercat and the telepathy to help others. He was to be the guardian, a fighter of evil and protector of the innocent, and a guard for those that may need his help. Valla was the key, the connection that Cruise needed to find the ones he needed to help; it was his destiny.

As a teenager, being told this was far from believable. What teen wants their life planned out from them, from a stranger none the less. But Valla wasn't giving up, and it seemed that Cruise didn't exactly have a choice. He was assured a normal life ever since his parents found that he was different, but he was given these gifts for a reason. He didn't like it and didn't understand it, but until he were to do what he had to, Valla was staying in Louisiana. With these gifts, the thought of being restrained at sixteen scarred him, so he started going out more and defying his parents more and more. The only person he could talk to was his cousin, and for the exception of the Summers when she came to visit, he didn't really have anyone to talk to. A girlfriend to talk too? The thought seemed realistic, even though he didn't see his parents relationship as perfect, even though in Kyleen's eyes it was. But he was given his first assignment, and it was to watch over a fisherman who lives on the docks. With much pushing, Cruise finally did what he was told to do by Valla. And when he did - he realized what his life was to be; even though it sucked. He saved the fisherman from a water demon who was planning to kill him, and not only did this help him understand Valla's purpose in all this but also what his powers could be used for.

Cruise soon found himself at the top of Valla's speed dial. Whenever she had a vision of someone in trouble or someone he needs to help, he is called. When it came to going out - he stopped a bit encase she called. He missed so much school and socializing from doing all of this, that over time he kind of grew out of it. Kyleen and Charmer were slowly seeing their little boy again, and this 'destiny' or whatever, was the best thing that happened to him. Though it definitely sucked at times, it kind of grew on him. But it go to the point that school seemed like a waste of time for him, so at the age of seventeen he dropped out and spent him time working at the farm. But with the whole farm boy charm, it didn't stop him from being the town's sex stop, and hooked up with a lot of girls - and guys. They seemed to get him as hot and bothered as the girls, so he thought what the hell. It built kind of a bad rep, and his parents were constantly worrying? What if he looses focus, and uses his powers in public. Would they ever see him again?

When the Summer break came, it was a relief that Cruise would be staying over at his cousins. It gave Kyleen time to think and focus on Lacy, and Charmer some time to think of what to do with Cruise. It wasn't that he didn't love them, it was that he was acting out, and something in his had just snapped; and it could be repaired. But when Cruise went to his cousins, he recieved a rude awakening. Growing up, her often found bruises and scars on Mari. But now - he witnessed it first hand. You do not - repeat - do not piss of a Seba Mau. Cruise kicked their asses, and threatened them to not touch her. This was doing good, and not just helping someone but some he cares about. He just helped make her life better, and had his mind set of going back to Louisiana to try and do something to make things better now. But before he left, he did something. Something that could jeapardize Cruise and Mari's relationship forever; he told Reginald that Mari was getting abused and left, not knowing who was dying behind him.

Cruise came back just in time for his eighteenth birthday, but his parents weren't exactly estastic that he was back. But he came back with promises, and if he could keep them would make all the difference. He was going to stop sneaking out, stop smoking and going out as much. More importantly, he agreed to make sure he does what Valla says when it comes to missions, and he does. Cruise got back into the swing of farm work, and doing his chores to get the farm back up and running. He tried to get back into school, but after his attendence lacking and detentions, the school declined. He was now trapped and it was his fault. All he had was Valla from this, and these freaky responsibilities for him. His parents; they didn't hate him but they were disappointed to see how he had ended up. In a small parish, he didn't exactly have a lot of opportunities there, but to work on the farm. So he did and embraced his farm-boy up bringing. After a little while though, the four of them became a family again.

Things were becoming stable, and going out with his friends still and hook ups still existed in Cruises week-to-week routine of partying, but he kept up a good relationship with his parents. Valla, knowing that Cruise was going okay now, left Louisiana and back to Egypt, where she could be with her family but keep in contact with Cruise over the crazy cell phone contraption that stumps her. He sometimes left town, around New Orleans and neighboring places where he was needed - or his particular talents could come to play. It seemed the drinking, sex, saving people and working on the farm was preoccupying his life, for a long time. Meaning a few years, but within this time he got his own truck for his nineteenth birthday, and he used it to get around to wherever Valla needed him and for the farms use; not to mention to impress people. His ego never depleted, and even drove Lacy to school some times. He was straightening things out, but since he had defeated any opportunity in his home town; he needed to go somewhere else. At first, Kyleen and Charmer was resistant because of obvious reason. There little cat kid leaving them and halfway across America by himself; where anything could happen. But it wasn't yet, he still had to save up so when he was twenty, they agreed to him going to Los Angeles, where he would at least have his cousin there.

But in his final year at Caldwell Parish, what didn't happen? Lacy was kidnapped by a Faux Bast, and held to be swapped for Cruise. But since the Faux Bast underestimated what Cruise could do, the creature was in the ground but not after she marked Lacy; and for Lacy to become a Faux Bast herself. Mommy and daddy's normal little girl was in time not going to be as legit, and would become the one thing that is the sworn enemy to the Seba Mau. And apart from that; Cruise had a relapse a bit from 'okay' behavior to pure shit. On one night out, someone slipped him an ecstacy pill and he had a bad trip, and while that happened vampires filtered through the farm and brutally beat up Charmer while Lacy and Kyleen hid, Valla knew it was happening and couldn't get onto Cruise and eventually after 24 hours to sleep it off, he came home to find his family and farm ripped up. It was hard to regain their trust, because his selfishness had gotten them in harms way. Charmer was just walking again and wounds had turned into scars when Cruise's time came. Los Angeles; he was coming. In a way he thought that it would help his parents, take a load off their shoulders but Lacy was definitely going to miss him, but he had to go. So with a kiss goodbye and a weekend bender to say goodbye to his friends before he hoped in his truck, and sped off.

Cruise came to town maybe five minutes ago, and after some chick called Diana told him that Mari was in the hospital, Cruise sped off downtown to get Mari. Was it Reginald? Was it something else? Some kind of cupid killer or something. Whatever it was, it seems that Cruise can tryto escape drama, but no matter what he will land straight back in the midst of supernatural trouble. He hasn't even been able to unpack his bags yet, and an apartment above LA Fever is waiting for him - not to mention a job. Let's see if Los Angeles can handle not only just a country boy with crazy partying antics and a magnet to drama, but the Seba Mau. Can LA fit another protector into this diabolical little war?

CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT

Cruise is going to be his own character, leading a crazy, wild and interesting life. Having come to LA, he is not looking for love but he is definitely looking to party and have a good time. Being the Seba Mau, he will be a defender of good like the Brothers, possibly being an ally to them. His cousin, Mari, will be the closest person he will be too and they have always been close, and when they decided to assemble a kind of protector team with Mari as the eyes and ears, Cruise will be a good agent alongside the rest of the potential team mates. Right now, Cruise is on his own mission. Being the Seba Mau, he is allocated charges by the sight-seeing Egyptian Priestess; Valla who keeps him in contact on who to protect, often rotating between people in Los Angeles. Apart from these plots, Cruise is also a new coming bartender at LA Fever and looking to kick some ass, get with everyone and anyone, and make LA his own party.
