Everette Evans; Journalist. Okay, intern. And more like slave but at least it was a start. It was surprising that things were actually starting to turn around a little bit. You know, since the past two weeks of his life had been a living hell he had made the most of it. Now, he was trying to get things straightened out in the City of Angels - which is full of zombies. Past tense present because the Seraphim team had been pretty much wiping them off of the streets, but the biggest worry has come to being; the whole city, and maybe the rest of the world, knows about the zombie epidemic. Ev could almost bring Farra back just for the chance to kill her again, but no. He was searching to fix things, play the modern day Superman. Except in this analogy, he wasn't an alien but a witch with so much magic in him he barely knew what to do with it and instead of Lois Lane he had Jayla Pearson, the cute and bubbly banshee. To be honest, Jayla and Everette's relationship started at a hard time but they had kept it together, and had been each other's shoulders. So yeah, things were okay in that department. Oh, but back to this internship thing. Well since college is still in session, Ev had to write his own interpretation on a real-world epidemic including research and sources. He chose the zombie attack, and even though his father would turn in his grave for him doing it, he did this paper and within a few days, he was offered an internship with LA Angel Times newspaper under the leadership of the cocky and down right rude reporter Paul Reece and being screamed at by the powerful and prostegious editor; Rocky McCain. Sadly he is kinda a role model for Ev to become a reporter, but the dream is obviously better then the reality.
"Reece? Hello?". The reason why Ev was called down into the old file room was kind of shifty. Since Ev had spent his days playing assistant by getting coffees and doughnuts, organizing Reece's mass piles of crap and running errands, it was weird that Ev was down here. But down the staircase to th be dusty and abandoned room he went, wearing a pretty nice suit that sadly probably wouldn't stay like that. Hurrying down, Ev couldn't help but cough when he got a mouthful of dust. Oh great, this is just awesome. Now he was going to smell like he had a group hug from the Adam's family. "Reece, you here?". He called out as he moved through the basement, looking around through the dust as he then looked and saw a light. Well there was a light luckily, and at the back of the room. Reece had to be down here now since it looked like no one had been down there for a while. Looking at the light again, he was feeling kind of worried. His ear-com was still on him, but it wasn't signed in. But he was just being paranoid because he had nearly been killed and the world nearly destroyed, that's all. "Reece! Dude, it's really sick down here". Especially when he got a wiff of a smell. What the hell is that? His hand went to his nose. It smelt - familiar. What the fuck, it smelt like something had died down here. Probably rats or mice or - hell, a friggin dinosaur. All he knew is that he wasn't clearning that up. But as he moved towards the light, he looked to his side and down to the floor. No, it wasn't a rodent - it was a body. A girl wearing office clothes laid on the floor, beaten and he body looked to be rotten away. Of course Ev would find the smell familiar, he has been spending all of his time fighting fucking zombies. But looking over her, he saw a name tag on her shirt. It was identicle to Ev's, and intern to the paper. He was freaked out now, and went to turn to leave, but something stopped him.
Ev yelled as a telekinetic pull caught him and he was flung backwards. Ev shot through the air until his face met the wall. Smashing into dirty brick, he slid down to the ground. Oh god that hurt! Now he knew how it felt for all the demons and vampires he had done that too. Touching his face, he felt the graze and blood on his hand. No friggin way! He finally gets out of Charms N' Bullshit and now he was in danger at his new 'kind of' job. This is not fair. But as he looked up, he couldn't see anyone. A witch? A demon? A Selena? Looking around more, he didn't know what spell to use or what to do. He just had to find whatever was doing this. "Reece?" Bad move. Ev was shot through the air again, this time flipping in the air and smashing down on an old pile of packing crates they must have used decades ago. They broke around him as he rolled off of the pile, only for another pull to come upon him as Ev found himself flying across the floor until his body met a hard filing cabinet, his body curling around it. He grunted in pain, loud. Okay, it must officially be his mentor - Paul. When he looked up, the invisible Paul showed himself as he blurred into vision, smiling down at Ev. "It's Mr Reece to you - witch". Rightio Reece seemed pissed! Ev looked at him as Reece went to wave his hand again, but Ev's eyes washed over a white phase as a rapid of wind shot at Rhys, wrapping him a mini and temporary tornado, hurling the guy through the air and across the room. Out of sight, not out of mind. Putting his finger to his ear-com, a small device sitting in his ear, it scanned his finger-print and signed him in. "Guys, I'm at LA Angel Times in the basement storage room. A telekinetic is trying to kill me. I need backup - now!". He spoke, and then looked up to find Reece, but he couldn't. This was just going to get better and better.

So it was normal business hours and being the typical distance learning student who had made herself get up off her ass after 2 weeks, she was doing 3 things at once on her mac. One screen had an essay on Shakespeare, the other had Lego Batman 2 Arkam Asylum on it and the one in the middle was work. After typing up the conclusion to her essay, saving it, editing it and sending it off its merry way she sighed with relief and began being the dark knight and kicking the shizit out of everything because, this was legos and that was what you did, "Yeah, buddy you wanna piece of me? Harley I got your batarang right here biatch! Ooo in the face! Yeah you know batman is gettin' some tonight baby! Oh still upright? Well lets tango princess of doom!"
Just then the com cycled up and Ev was screaming into the mic, putting her game on pause, she sighed and set her controller down, "Boss is a telekinetic, holy papercuts batman! You don't mess around do you? Yo! Anyone on the com besides me? Cause if I gotta navigate down there its gonna get ugly...." she called up the schematics for the LA Times Building, "Okay, well, Ev the good news is no one is gonna see if you go all Samantha on his ass. The bad news is, the only thing down there are the storage areas. It looks like if you can manage to go 3 doors to your left you can find the chemicals they store for the dark rooms and fuck his shit up. Try to get there if you can and I'll see what I can do about getting Mike or Darryl on the line if backup doesn't arrive."

Ev used the wall as support as he pushed himself up. Well up seemed to be a difficult direction to go right now since he could basically feel the bruising on his back turning darker then the magic inside him, and it hurt like hell. He winced in pain as he got his feet, and thanked god that Mari was online. If seriousness was an outfit then she was definitely out of style because she was sounding way more chilled then usual. It was kind of eery, but looking around he tried to see something. The hint of a moving object or something being nudged. So as he listened to what she had to say, he looked around the room more. He slowly took soft steps to his side, with the very real feeling that someone was watching him. Reece, or whoever he actually was, was definitely a stealthy bastard and Ev had the feeling that turning invisible and stalking people must be a daily activity for him. Looking towards the back of the room where he hit, Ev kept his eyes out and watching as he looked for a sign. A sign! But nothing, and as he continued moving he felt his foot touch the foot of the dead body, looking down in surprise but then realized that that person - that innocent girl, was far to dead to try and attack him. But zombies guys, who really managed to stay dead anymore. "Thanks for the 411 Big Brother, but this guy takes superpowers to whole new level. Now he has managed to turn himself invisible. I need someone here like five minutes ago". He saw the door and started inching towards it, trying not to make it look obvious where he was going. He could fight what he couldn't see, a fatal flaw in his case. Looking to the door, he decided to go for it.
In a fast pace, he ran towards the door hoping that Reece didn't see him, but he did. Before he knew it, in the corner of his eye he saw a filing cabinet fly at him from the side. Ev gasped as he shot forwards into a forward roll. Kicking up dust as the cabinet just missed him. The sound of crushing metal occured as the cabinet smashed into the wal, papers smashing out of it as it fell to the ground in a busted up heap as Ev got back to his feet, but didn't turn to send anything back, but just shot towards the door faster. As he gripped onto the doornob, he heard a click. Reece was trying to make sure he didn't go anywhere, but he sorrily underestimated Ev. A bust of blue energy radiated from Ev's body as controlled magic smashed into the door, obliterating it as wood shot across the ground and Ev charged through the doorway, hearing fast footsteps come from behind. Running as fast as he could, he telekinetically shot the next door open as he entered a storage room for old printing equipment from maybe the 70's or 80's. He was freaking out now, and turning he saw the dust being kicked up by Reece's running, and finally had a target. Shooting his hand at him, a burst of electricity escaped his hand and at the guy. One bolt hit Reece, causing his body to hit a limbo of transparency and shooting him into a piled heap of old printers, the smashing of plastic and such occuring as Ev smirked, knowing he had him down. "Okay, I got him visible. He isn't going any-". Ev flew back, Reece still being conscious and without looking at him, smashed Ev backwards and through the second door. Ev's back smashed into the ground as he rolled into a heap on the dusty floor, coughing as the wind had been knocked out of him.
Looking back up to the guy, Ev knew he had to do something and turned and ran through the last door, clutching his ribs in pain as a cut appeared on his face from some stray wood. Slamming the door behind him, he looking around. The red room was still dusted, but the lights seemed to still be on. It seemed that Reece had been hanging around here for a while then, and Ev walked further into the room, out of breath but looking around. Picture of him and some others were hung around the room. It seemed that the dead girl a few rooms away was a practising witch from the pictures of her in her apartment over an altar, and it seemed he liked to kill witches. What a sick freak! But as Ev started to hear the doornob rattle, he pussied out and ran behind a chemical vat, and hid as he heard Reece come through the door. He tried to calm his breathing as a dead giveaway, but he couldn't. He heard Reece walk into the room, and heard a loud sigh. "I just love you witches, you seem to be able to do so much. Even ruin a man's life. You see Evans, I wasn't always like this. But when I was captured - and my life ruined, it seemed that witches were the only ones powerful enough to do this. That's why I killed her, that's why I will kill you. Zombies, kidnappings - it's only the start. And it's your fault. And I won't stop, until every single on of you - is dead". Ev didn't see him come around the corner, and before he could react he saw Reece's smile, a large cut across his face as he looked to Everette, and his gaze trailed as Ev was shot into the air. Ev smashed over the vat of chemicals, souring and smashing into the ceiling. A gasp escaped his lungs as he soared through the air and landed on a scanner screen. Sliding off of it and onto the ground, Ev was in severe amounts of pain. Looking up at Reece as he moved over to him, he breathed heavily. "It wasn't witches, we can't do that kind of magic". He said breathlessly, but Reece didn't like that response as he telekinetically constricted Ev's airway as Ev clutched his throat, coughing hard as air was being impossible to intake. Rolling on the ground, he gasped as tears started to well into his eyes. Life just can't get easier, can it?

'Crap. I may have to go downtown.' Mari thought as she downloaded all the info she had onto her wrist com, "Hang in there, Shadow. I'm on my way to the L.A. Times myself." she began to slip into gear and suit up, "Shadow, I've got the intel on your perp. Paul Reece...he's wanted in conjunction with a lot of mysterious deaths, big surprise there. Its said he had a medical condition, a rash and went in to get it tested. Shortly after that he was reported to have anger management issues...he was brought up on charges of assault by his last therapist but the case was dismissed due to lack of evidence. Looks like someone paid her off because her face shows plenty of evidence if you ask me." she was soon in her car and zipping along having fabricated a pass to let her in the building. Gotta love modern technology.
Acting like she belonged there she followed Ev's vitals till she came around a corner and saw Everette. "Its showtime!" she called as she let out her internal energy and the room began to light up, "Hello, Mr. Reese. I'm with the Angel wing Gazette and we have a few questions for you!" She launched the gold wave towards the telekinetic super human and picked up on his rage and murderous intent, "So, Mr. Reese, how did that specialist treat you? Did he give a name? She tried to grab ahold of his anger and subdue it as best she could.
Being extra careful, she backed up behind a chemical bin, and situated herself to where if it got hit she wouldn't be the one hurt by it. She glanced at her wrist pad, "If we can get him calmed down and subdued we can find out who did this. Maybe Michael can reverse it. Maybe." she whispered to the beat up Evans brother.

Mike was almost out the door when an officer called out to him and said that Marina had called requesting officers at the LA Times Building in the basement. "I'm on it," Mike said and hurried out the door. once he reached the parking lot, he went to his car, got in, started the engine, and headed for the building. Once he was there, he parked his car and hurried towards the parking lot elevator. Once he was in the elevator, he pressed the button for the basement and waited.
Once he got to his destination, he moved silently and quickly, gun drawn, as the sounds of fighting became louder. As he got closer, he heard a crashing noise and then someone saying something about witches not having a certain kind of power. Okay, a warlock's in trouble. Hope they don't mind me butting in, he thought to himself and then headed for the door.
After a bit of a struggle, he managed to get the door opened and quickly assessed the situation. A news reporter, Paul Reece, was standing over a kid. "Freeze, Reece!" he barked, pointing a gun at him. "Kid, you okay?" he questioned.

His face was almost purple, the air being restricted from him. He was strong, really song. He hadn't felt a telekinetic pull like this since Selena, and it was strong. It was potent. And it was friggin' insane. He was purely driven with rage, which is probably why Ev tries not to use telekinesis when he is pissed, because it can definitely be over powered. But through the tears welling in his eyes, he could see the look in Reece's eyes. Pure, untainted rage welling inside of him. He was lost, and hurt, and wanted revenge but Ev couldn't let this stand. Killing people because he wants his questions resolved and because he is a fucking nutter, just wasn't right. And Ev hadn't gone through everything that he had just to let some guy stand and keep going with this. He had fought a super powered business woman and the daughter of Satan himself, he was not weak. And even though he couldn't save his brother, he had to remind himself that he wasn't. Looking up at Reece, feeling like he was going to pass out he stared at the guy. He could hear the voice of someone else, but he muffled the sounds out. He looked straight at this guy, anger building as his eyes started to turn black. Darker then the night sky, he started the break the hold. He could vaguelly hear Marina in his earcom and her voice trying to reach Reese, and he then concentrated on the energy around him. Right now, he was definitely feeling overwhelmed.
Rising to his feet, his eyes looked into Reece as he started to overpower the hold. Folding the energy back was intense, the invisible force folding into an orange-like repulsive shield, which was curling back towards Reece. He could breath again, not that at this moment it was important as Ev was being taken over by the magic that he hadn't felt in a long long time. This side of him was coming out in front of his friends, and at this point he couldn't stop it. He felt - untouchable. Marina might want to appeal to him, but Ev wasn't thinking about that now. Reece was gasping, trying to battle on but he couldn't. Breaking the telekinetic connection, the power smashed upon itself between them, Ev wasted no time as he telekinetically shot Reece through the air as he hit the wall, pinned to it horizontally halfway up the wall. The immense amounts of magic flowing out of Ev, the air around him rippling in a shimmer of energy, the wall around Reece cracked and crumbled slightly. Every object around the room lifted into the air, even the dust on objects hovered in thin clouds around the room. It was like everything hit zero gravity as he looked at Reece, and started moving towards him.He moved slowly, any exterior reasoning not getting through to him at all as he stared at the guy, and channelled pain into his hands and feet, hearing the many bones in them start to break. He wanted to make Reece feel pain, lots of it. But as he started to hear Reece's screams, he had a dream.
White clothes over surgery tables. Beeps of heart monitors. Over a dozen surgeons and scientists moving about the room. An unconscious Reece on one of the beds, Selena Hart's body on another in her demon form. Extracting of blood. Injecting of blood. Stimulation of electrical currents. Flashes. Blood. Screaming. After snapping out of it, Ev's eyes turned back. Feeling his energy holding the guy up, Ev let out a breath and then took a step back. Okay, thank god for fun little visions otherwise he would have killed that guy. Or demon, whatever that vision may have meant. Whatever it meant, it was freaky. "Oh.........kay. That, was intense. He isn't a witch, or a demon or anything. He is - a lab experiment, Selena's DNA melded with human DNA". He said, looking down at the guy. He now really felt bad. But he just wished he had gotten more, like who had done this. No name, no badges. It was top secret, and this was good reason why it would be. Blood dribbling down Reece's hands, tears on his face he looked up at Ev. "You - you can't stop them". said Rhys. It was so hopeless, and he was so defeated. Ev gulped slightly, looking with sad eyes down to Reece before Reece looked up at him. Ev just wished that he had known what he was going to do next, and Reece looked up at the tray light hanging from the ceiling as the chanins that held it up dropped from the sky, landing on him. Sparks smashed as Reece drew his last breath, the light source in the room being destroyed with this life. Ev gasped and stepped back as the sparks stopped after a fair few seconds, and smoke rose from the unseen corpse as Ev looked down at it. He didn't know what to do, or to say. He just stood their, looking down at the body feeling really, really bad.

Almost as soon as Mike had asked the question, the other boy stood up, turned to Reece, and what happened next, Mike couldn't really say. Oh, sure, there was power involved: that much he knew. But the level of power was something he couldn't even comprehend.
Then the power seemed to increase and Mike could only stare. When it was finally over, Mike shook his head in disbelief. "Whoa," he said.
Then, he blinked in surprise at the kid's revelation. "Gotta say, that's a new one," he declared. Magic, spells, vampires, werewolves, that I understand. But messing with DNA? That's just crazy, he thought to himself. Then, noticing that the kid seemed to be in a state of shock, "You doing okay or do you need a few minutes?" Okay, granted, stupid question, but, hopefully the kid wouldn't call him on it.

Mari clutched her head as she felt the rage wash off of Reece and she cringed with it. It made it almost physically painful to be there in the room as Ev and the very angry mutant demon squared off and blasted at each other with power.
"See if you can get him to calm--" she was cut off as Reece gave into dispair and ended his own miserable existence. She shuddered on the ground there for a minute or five as Mike assessed the situation and Ev felt bad. The smell of burning flesh had her throwing up in a corner as her eyes watered and she moaned. Shivering as she tried to shut out the images that threatened to overwhelm her of the torture her father had put her through almost a month ago. She had to push past it. There was no choice.
Exhaling she dabbed at her mouth and reached for a breath mint before glancing over at the Ghost that was now Reece and reaching her hand out to it, "Be at peace, Reece." she whispered as she sent him on his way to whatever fate had planned. Once he was gone she tried to stand up and began shaking, "T-too s-soon." she murmured as she shook and hugged herself, "I'll look up what you t-told me, Ev b-but can I go home?" she wanted to cry. She felt like a failure, to Everette, to the team and everyone else. She wanted to cry and scream in her pillow and just not think. The only things that were keeping her together was the medication to help with her PTSD but for an episode like this she was ill prepared. She began to shake and closed her eyes. Trying to call on something of what she was to calm herself. Her wings sprouted out of her back and she took on an almost holy glow as she shivered and then cracked an eye open.
"Oh thats just great." she muttered as she tried not to burst into tears at letting her nature show.
