The passing of Reginald Sinclaire was a weight on Corvin's own black heart. When word got to him that his old friend and acquaintance had been killed in retaliation of his own actions against his daughter, and others, Corvin wept silently for a brief moment. Call Reginald what you will, a black hearted beast, a monster, an abuser, a user, and an overall horrid father that deserved to rot in Hell, all of which were true, but he was a good friend. A trustworthy friend at that, and a well paying client. Corvin was going to sincerely miss his old friend, and most trusted customer. But Reginald was ultimately too weak for this world, and only the strong survived in this world. If you cannot wield the power that you're given properly, then you're going to ultimately be obliterated by it. That was the rule of thumb in this world, and in Corvin's case, it was also a case of he who summons the magic, commands the magic, so as long as one did not get into Hell's way. At least, that was Corvin's other motto after watching the fourth film of Hellraiser, where he had heard the saying. But just because it came from a cheesy gore flick, did not mean that there was some true meaning behind the saying. There was consequences to magic, and if you did not control it properly, or used it against the source that you got it from, then you could find yourself suffering dire consequences. Reginald was at one point a simple human psychic, but it was not enough for him, and he began a quest to become an incubus. Out of that ritual, came Samael, his 13th and most powerful son. One that was destined for terrible evil, but as far as both Samael, and even the powerful Michael, himself was concerned, those plans had been thrown out the window, never to return. But Corvin knew that you never said never. Which was what brought him to the next phase of his own plan. The mere fact that Reginald had been able to be dispatched was because of the Seraph, and his wretched little growing group of do-gooders, and their delusions of being able to stop the inevitable. If Samael was to still succeed, he would need his own army, and what better way to start, than by bringing forth someone that knew a little bit about what it was like to be what Samael was. But half demons were such a drag to conjure! You had to have the right ingredients, wait for a certain time of the night to come, and always had to make sure that the circle for them to be conjured to would be the right size. If it was too small, then it was like putting them through one of those machines that meat goes in and comes out as sausage on the other end. Too large, and you could conjure more than just them, but a large chunk of their house. Not that it was a problem, but paying to repair that was such a bloody waste of time. They ALWAYS wanted to be reimbursed for damages. After Corvin made sure that everything was in order, he looked at the time on his pocket watch, and stood in place as he held his left hand towards the circle of sulfur as he read the incantation from a piece of papyrus. “Ens de daemon sanguis et humana anima. Surge nunc ad hoc locus!” Instantly, the circle caught fire, and a supernatural wind picked up, turning the circle of fire into a vortex of flame, that was nearly eight feet in height, and seemed to go through the ceiling. While it definitely touched the ceiling, despite being plunged into the accursed flames, they did not seem to burn, or catch fire to the rest of the abandoned complex. Rather, they seemed unscathed, as if protected by the forces of darkness, themselves. Corvin seemed greatly amused that the spell was working, and the person in question was being summoned exactly how he had planned. As instant as it had came though, the vortex of flames vanished after only a minute, and before, there was nothing inside the circle, now there was a person standing within it. “Welcome, my dear.” He said, looking at the young girl as she stood in the circle, confused as to where she was. “You can step out, you're not bound to the bloody thing, it's just a simple conjuring spell that I used to call you here.” He informed her as he flipped the papyrus in his hand, and suddenly, it was gone...like magic.

Ash was really happy with her spot in the team and doing something good with her powers, it even made it easier most of the time to ignore her demon part and listen to other things for a chance instead of listening to what it was trying to say. She didn't really know what to think of the whole zombies walking around the city, luckily like she had always imagined they weren't all that smart so that made things a bit easier, but normal humans would be too freaked out or even just weak to really stand a chance if they came after them and it was too late.
Ash had been fighting them around town with someone from the team although she'd rather have gone out alone, she didn't want her lust to kill these things and be rid of them and save people to maybe cost someone else their lives, but the rest of the team could handle themselves mostly of course. She had actually been training lately to using swords in case she'd ever have to, even switching between one single sword and using two, which also seemed to be part of what the demon was meant to do, something that at the same time made it easier, but also more scary for Ash if she had to be honest.
Just as Ash froze another zombie with her Cryokinesis, she suddenly felt strange, a feeling she totally couldn't describe as her vision got blurry too, just like she was experiencing something that she shouldn't be or something. Just as she wanted to look next to her and say that something was wrong with her, she couldn't really see anything and say it and soon she could still for a moment see flames suddenly surrounding her. As suddenly as it had started it was suddenly over and the first thing she saw was that she was totally somewhere else and then noticing the man that was standing there.
When Ash heard his voice greeting her and calling her "My dear" she frowned and then pulled up her eyebrows as she quickly looked around again in confusion and back to the guy with some suspicion in the mix too quickly enough. 'What the Hell is going on here? Who are you? And conjured, called or whatever me here for what?' She asked as the circle she was in reminded her a little too much about the circle she was in the night of the ritual she got this damned demon inside her in the first place. Just as she wanted to say something again, a sharp pain shot through her head for a moment as she grabbed it and closed her eyes for a few seconds. It was the exact same thing always when the demon was desperate for attention and trying to claw it's way to the surface. 'I bet he didn't mean to call YOU, silly, I bet it was me, so why don't you be a doll and just shut up and give me the handle for a moment?'[/i]
Ash shook her head and kept her eyes closed before she got the voice pushed back somewhat and as she shortly rubbed her temples against the headache that was fading away, she looked back at the guy with her eyes narrowing in a suspiciously angry manner. 'You don't want me... You want IT...' She said as she shook her head and put a step backward for a second. 'I won't let it, I've been in control for years now... If you give me no other choice I will have to hurt you.' She said on her guard as she slightly raised her hands just in case while putting another step back with her yes locked on this guy, not wanting to be put on the background of her own head and body.

Grinning at the young girl, he glanced her over for a moment and thought about how she was definitely petite for a half demon, but it was all the more to their allure, as they would normally kill an unsuspecting person in a heartbeat. It was, after all, in their nature to be psychopathic murderers. “Forgive me young miss, where are my manners?” he said with a rhetorical question, “My name is Corvin, Corvin Blake.” He extended his bare hand for her to shake, but when it was not warmly received, he chuckled lightly and said, “Right. Well, it appears to me that you're a very gifted individual, and I would like to acquire your services.”When she stepped back slightly, Corvin raised an eyebrow and shook his head slowly. “I see...so you're the better half's secretary of sorts.” Corvin reached into his pocket and pulled out a medallion and tossed it to the floor. It was a medallion in his collection, forged mere decades ago by a sorcerer, who sought to bring out a person's darker ambitions, but Corvin found that it worked well on half demons as well, to make them more...sinister in nature. Stepping forward, “I guess we cannot keep up pretenses, but yes, I do want to speak to your other half,” he explained, “Samael is interested in acquiring your services, and in return, he'll see to it that you never have to worry about your moral compass always changing directions. He'll see to it that your better half, the true you, is free for all time.” As he stepped forward, his face was semi serious, semi smiling, “Come on princess, we know that you cannot hold off forever. Sooner or later, you have to let the inner bitch out, and I think tonight, it is high time you let her out to play.”

Ash's eyes kept narrowed to a suspicious and on her guard look as this guy introduced himself as Corvin Blake, but she saw no need at all to accept the hand that he extended to her. She didn't trust this guy for even a second or even a little bit, she got this feeling from him... This dark and cold feeling. When he mentioned that it appeared to him that she was a very gifted individual and that he would like to acquire her services she raised her eyebrows again and then laughed sarcastically for just a slight moment. 'Well don't mind me saying no to that instantly, I already have people that I'm helping, why would I even help you?' She asked him while shaking her head again in determination.
As Ash looked at how this Corvin guy shook his head and suddenly stated that she was the better half's secretary of sorts, she looked shocked, hurt and pissed off at the same time for saying something like that. 'No! I'm the better half! I should be the only half!' Ash said as it was something she'd always felt like, something she still hoped would some day be possible, to just have her own body back just for herself and herself alone. When she saw him taking the medallion she put another step back as she looked from it to him. 'What the hell are you going to do?'
'I already told you! I won't let you!' Ash yelled as she looked at this guy more pissed but then grabbed her head again soon after when another pain struck through it. All the things that Corvin continued saying, she could feel that it only motivated the demon more to come out, to do just that, play as it saw everything that it did, and the medallion seemed to have just the desired effect on her as Corvin's intention was. 'Please... No, I don't want to...' Ash begged to the demon but also to Corvin before her eyes rolled away but before her body could drop to the floor, the demon had taken over and adjusted in time to get back to full stability before falling. 'You call yourself a dark wizard or warlock or whatever!?' her voice suddenly asked fiercely as she stepped forward toward Corvin. 'She's not just a half of me you idiot! it's actually her! It's actually her damn soul that's still in here! I don't know how she does it, but in combination with that, she can keep me out.' Evil Ash said as she shook her head, looked away shortly and then back at Corvin again.
She moved her hands and looked at them and then the rest of the body before she smirked and yet again looked back up at Corvin. 'It's been quite a while since I could do any of this, but the bitch always remembers if I do something and only fights more against me.' She said bitter before she removed some locks of hair from her face and then started walking a bit through the abandoned building's room they were in. 'They were never even able to give me my name, she rebelled too quickly... But you have me here now, like you wanted and your puppetmaster, so tell me...' She started once she turned around mostly again after walking around a bit. 'Why exactly would I even want to help you, or this guy Samael? I mean I was planning on looking him up when I heard of him, but I'm not the kind of demon that wants to be used, so what's in it for me?'

Corvin chuckled as Ash's darker half emerged, and asked about what he called himself. “Well, I don't brag, but yes, I am a warlock.” he chuckled humbly before picking up the medallion, “Which is why I brought this interesting little trinket. It can suppress a person's soul temporarily, so I thought it would make an interesting peace offering. A way for you to counter that little, pesky pipsqueak that you share a body with's ability to hold you back. Right now, I can assume that she is too far away now to even hear, or be able to remember our conversation, when she does resurface. At best, this will all seem like a bad dream to her.” This was not the first time that Corvin recruited the assistance of a half demon with two personalities fighting for control. Normally, he found a way to make it to where the darker side prevailed, and they always offered assistance in return. Simply because though neither would ever admit to it, but Corvin could just as easily pull the strings in a heartbeat.
After he had listened to her speak her own story about its existence and how the living soul in her would never allow her to have any fun, her question invoked a rather light scoff from Corvin. He shifted his eyes from one side of the room to the other, and replied, “Because if anyone is going to help you with your soul problem, then who better than another person who has the same situation?” As if it was the most logical and most reasonable way to go around this whole thing.
“Look, you both want to become fully demonic, am I correct?” Corvin asked rhetorically, “And the only thing that is standing in either of your ways, are pesky, little souls. The most logical thing to do, even for evil beings, is to come together and ensure that both of you get what you want. Samael is already a very powerful demon on his own, however if he were to become a full demon, then he would have more than enough power to obliterate that soul that is resting inside of you, if he could not already do it, and in the meantime, I can ensure that it is you behind the wheel, and your little conscience is riding back seat. I have spent centuries ensuring my own power, by collecting objects and trinkets from all over the world, that can more than definitely keep your soul at bay. That medallion is just one of hundreds of little tricks up my sleeve to keep you in control.” Corvin turned his back on her for a moment, took a few steps back and turned with a devious little grin on his face.
“But, if you have a better idea, I could always call off the effects of the medallion, and bring Miss Soulful back into the driver's seat. It's up to you.” A devious little grin struck Corvin's lips as he waited for the demon's answer.

Demon Ash kept looking at Corvin when she had turned back to him and she frowned when he said that he didn't like to brag but that he was indeed a warlock. 'Well congratulations.' She remarked innocently sarcastic before she folded her arms in front of her and looked at the trinket while listening to what Corvin started to tell her, something that couldn't go any differently than catching her attention and curiosity. 'Are you sure? I mean I don't want to burst your bubble of having all the answers probably, but this chick... She's smart, I never imagined she'd be able to push me this far back for so long, even though I keep fighting, and my creators and "masters" never intended for me to have to share this body with her, I mean... Look at me, it would be so much more fun to be able to do with this body when and what I wanted.' She said as she looked thoughtfully and shook her head then. 'But if she finds out, she'll get rid of it and she'll only suppress me more again.' She explained then where her question came from while looking at Corvin questioningly again.
When Demon Ash heard Corvin's reply about how who else to help her with her soul problem other than someone that was in the exact same position and situation. 'As far as I've heard about this Samael that you're talking about, he's got it quite a bit better than me, at least he's in charge and otherwise doesn't hear this annoying human voice stressing out if you get into control, but I do get what you mean...' She said, letting him know by that that she was still listening and all. 'I am!' Her voice almost bellowed fiercely through the room about being fully demonic but then bit her lip and looked away shortly. 'This body just isn't...' She finished with a little mumbling.
She remained quiet as she listened to the rest of what Corvin told her that the only thing standing in their way were pesky little souls, and although a part of her wanted to go in against it already, she kept from doing that and let him continue his story for now about his trinkets and the best way to do this was together. 'I guess I can't go in against that... But what assurances do I have that when I help him get what he wants and when he has his full power, or you for that matter, won't just betray me and stab me in the back? Because if that thought crosses either of your minds, the little human Ash has her sources that I could let know about this spot, and you, like for example... A pesky Angel guy called Michael?' She asked him with a slightly pulled eyebrow and threatening look in her eyes that she wanted some leverage with that question in her head about the whole trust thing, even demons themselves knew that you couldn't exactly really trust another demon.
'No!' She quickly and clearly said when he said that if she had a better idea to put Miss Soulful back in the drivers seat. 'It's not... Wait.' She said as her look went down and her eyes narrowed for a second. 'Noo! I warned and told you!' Ash herself yelled than with a furious and desperate look in her eyes as she put one of her hands forward to Corvin and instinctively because of the threat she sensed of having been out of control, and this guy in front of her that she knew was bad news already but even more now, using her Cryokinesis on him.

“Don't worry, I'm smarter,” Corvin retorted with a grin. This was the third time he had met a being such as this one. Each time, they were met with situations where the demon and the soul were waging war against one another for control of the shell that was their body. Samael was more of the type of half breed that Corvin was used to seeing. A demon, born with a human soul. Samael was both one in the same with his soul, but he was suppressing it, and thus his conscience as well. But Samael's only true weakness was either the Brothers Trinity, Michael, or his sister's ability to heal his soul. Not that Corvin would have any difficulty bypassing Mari's power, but it would be incredibly hard to do. The human soul was a powerful thing, and even if Corvin had many powerful trinkets to suppress souls, they almost always had to be nearby in order for them to work, and those trinkets could not destroy a soul, no matter how powerful the witch, wizard, or warlock was that made them.
Corvin chuckled softly at the demon's reasoning, and shook his head slowly. “He may have it easier than you, but there are other factors that are a problem with him,” he explained, “Samael only has a hold over it, because he was raised in Hell, and he was tormented and tortured until the last bit of humanity was burned out of his soul. He's a raving lunatic because of what your kind did to him in Hell, but just because he has a lid on his moral compass, doesn't mean there are not people out there that can restore his soul to better health. You on the other hand, you're a separate entity from that soul in your body all together, whereas Samael and his human soul are one. You could help Samael, not just by keeping pesky goody goodies off of his back, but also by keeping him focused.”
Corvin chuckled as the demon protested at Corvin's suggestion to bring the soul back in control. “Exactly my point,” he said, “I think I would much rather work with you, than her, as she would be far less cooperating compared to you. At least with me, I offer you a chance to become dominant in that body of yours.” But Corvin had a feeling that the demon did not particularly hear him, because suddenly, he noticed a shift in facial expressions, and suddenly, realized that the soul was back in control. “Bloody brilliant...” he sighed in irritation, attempting to jump back out of the way of Ash's cryokinesis attack. Corvin managed to miss most of it, but a portion of the wave hit his left arm, freezing it solid. Corvin let out a loud shout of pain as he tried to move his arm, but to no avail. “You BLIMEY little cunt!” he growled, as he fell back into the shadows, disappearing out of sight for a moment, and reappearing behind her.
Corvin raised his right hand and directed it at the medallion, still on the floor. “Daemon continebam factus transgressi, venire ad potentia in hoc hora!” Corvin said aloud, hoping to enhance the amulet's power and bring the demon back into control. When Ash was to turn, Corvin would then disappear into the shadows again, and reappear behind her, and grab her hand. If he could, he would use his own ability to acquire powers, and take on her own power of cryokinesis and free his arm from her attack, before he got frost bite, or something more dreadful. This is worse than when Rasputin tried to leave me in the middle of the Siberian tundras....” he thought momentarily.

A sound of sarcasm clearly came from Ashleigh, or at least the demon, when Corvin retorted she shouldn't worry because he was smarter and she looked at him with her head held to the side. 'Don't blame me for not taking you on your word, but I was promised the best to begin with and look where that ended.' She said as she shook her head and looked away again for a moment. She didn't know what to think of this guy, Ashleigh herself was obviously suspicious of this guy, and in this case it was maybe better to take the chance and see where it went, but there was not chance that she was going to trust this guy, she had to give Ash that, she made a good call there. She really thought this was the kind of guy that would almost always think a few steps ahead and try to always have something up his sleeve.
As the demon listened to what it was told by Corvin, it's interest was piqued by the story about Samael, where he came from and she nodded quickly after he had finished talking and looked straight at Corvin before she grinned slowly but steadily. 'Now this Samael... He does interest me I have to admit, the more you tell me about him, I would help him, if I knew that he would really help me, I mean a man in your position must understand that part, right?' She asked while raising her eyebrow. There had been more that the demon wanted to say, she could help being a bit sarcastic and suspicious at the same time against this guy, but the connection and the possibility of having the help of this Samael and pleasure of working with and perhaps beside him for now interested her greatly, but Ash had interrupted all of that suddenly again.
When Ash realized she was indeed back in control and the blast of Cryokinesis she had shot Corvin's way, she shook her head quickly, trying to focus her eyes and mind while keeping both on Corvin and trying to attack him again but when she pointed her hand she noticed that he disappeared into the shadows and that she couldn't see him anymore. 'You're one to talk, you bring me here, you bring that THING into control and don't even let me remember, I'm not just letting you put me exactly into the position those sons of bitches put me in before I killed them! Ash yelled before she turned around when she had the feeling that he was there but instead of completing it, she heard the words coming out of his mouth, the ones clearly directed at the medallion and she wasn't going to be near that thing if she could help it!
So before completely turning around to Corvin, Ash made a good big step backwards away from him too, looking quickly from the medallion to Corvin, suspiciously because the thought that she had no idea of what kind of things this guy was capable of scared her kind of a lot, something that she hated because it made her unfocused and that was something she couldn't use right now. 'Stop it!' She yelled at him again because of his attempts while she herself put a hand to her head when the voice of the demon increased in force again inside her head. Still when she realized how vulnerable she was making herself, she quickly raised and pointed her hand at Corvin again and attempting to make the ice hit him again, yet not sure if it would be a very effective spot again if he evaded it or with how much she had to focus on staying in control at the same time and tapping into the power in the first place.
