One of the drawbacks to having a territorial male vampire be your friend was their need to mark their territory. Inevitably this meant that you ended up with the worse end of the deal when all was said and done, or so Mari thought as she crawled into her bed and laid on the side that wasn't bit.
She was going to have to talk to Diana about vampire etiquette because she somehow didn't think it meant "Bite the person each time you see them." At least that's how it seemed to be how Trenton took it. Right now, dressed in a warm set of flannel pjs she just wanted to curl up and sleep. The fact that it was the middle of the day didn't matter to her. They should be happy she wasn't sleeping in the bat cave and was sleeping in her own bed. It was progress, of a sort and if they asked her she could legitimately say she had gone outside today. Granted it had been dark out but she had never kept normal hours.
As her mind drifted she felt her eyes grow heavy, the bite on her neck stung a little and stood out against her pale skin but she tried not to move too much as her eyes closed and she drifted off to sleep.
