Gabriel got an interesting call which surprised him. It was surprising because he either changes his number or gets a new cell phone every couple of weeks to avoid pesky one night stands who don't understand the meaning of 'one night' or crazy ex's. If their was one thing Gabriel found more troubling than a crazy ex it was a persistent vengeful ex. Now Gabriel had just gotten a new phone a few hours ago, got it right before the store closed for the night, thus he only had about a dozen numbers in it so far and no one from his past should have known it. But he received a call none the less from a vampire he had slept with and ditched out on. She took it very personally as she was something of a matriarch of her coven and didn't appreciate being made a fool of or used. She had been hunting Gabriel for a century now. She had a fairly powerful coven and then a occultist group that worshiped her full of wanna be vampires of all professions and a hand full of wiccan followers. Thus her resources were vast enough and strong enough for Gabriel to wanna flee rather than deal with her. The summary of the message went something along the lines of "Meet me in this dark abandoned ally off this street tonight and we can make a deal that will benefit us both. No more running, no more hunting, and who knows you might get lucky tonight too." Naturally the only part of the long message left that Gabriel picked up on was the latter part which entailed she might sleep with him again. Gabriel normally would have easily picked up on the trap but his current one track mind was more clouded than usual as it was the anniversary of his mother abandoning him. This period of time always threw off his focus and train of thought. Gabriel strolled into what appeared to be an empty alley way that night. He strolled in with a seductive elegance he always had. It seemed to radiate even more under the light of the moon which bounced off his off his flawless greek god like body. His eyes had a certain undefinable sparkle to them. Alluring and sensual, with a touch of mischief. Like every opportunity to not wear cloths Gabriel was wearing a pair of jeans and boots and that was it. This was very normal, Gabriel hated wearing cloths when he didn't have to.] He already had it in his mind that he was going to sleep with his ex also so why put something on you would just take right back off. He patiently for a minute then from the shadows she showed up. "Devlin, Lovely to see you again. Whats it been nine decades?" Gabriel asked making conversation. Devlin replied amused "Ten actually. I didn't think you would show. You never did before. You know you really shouldn't have. Seeing you again reminds me of what a waste this is going to be." Gabriel raised a brow at her but before he had time to process the situation two vampire stood at both exits to the small side street which was more like an alley. Then one more stood next to Devlin. Gabriel was strong but he couldn't take on three vampires and that was assuming Devlin wasn't getting her hands dirty. She was about Gabriels age give or take so she was far more powerful physically than him. It all began to finally click, of course it was a trap. Gabriel chuckled faintly to himself and his stupidity. He gazed at her and replied with the carefree charming tone he was renowned for. "Darling I am hurt. Here I thought we were going to work things out. I was going to dedicate this night to making you feel like you have ascended to a new plain of pleasure but it seems you only wish to harm me. I don't suppose a sorry will cut it?" Gabriel sighed growing irritated now at the situation "Please Devlin, I don't want to hurt you." The vampire laughed hysterically at Gabriels comment. This was followed by the vampire next to her in a flash of his eyes pinning him against the wall and hitting him hard in the stomach then tossing him off to the side like a rag doll about ten feet. Gabriel gasped and grabbed his stomach as he lay on the ground. Gabriel began laughing amusingly as he slowly rose to his feet. "What? Is that all you got? You are going to beat me to death? How creative." He said tauntingly. Devlin had a sinister smile on her face though then replied "Oh no baby. After what you did, a hundred years of hunting you down, you don't get it that easy. I have something special in store for you." Gabriel caught his breath and sarcastically replied "Oh lucky me, love. And here I thought I was just another number to you. Glad you have taken special preparations just for me." Two shadowy figures began walking down the small street. When Gabriel finally was able to see them he knew they were not vampire. They were just humans. They started chanting something but Gabriel couldn't hear them. He went to get closer to listen but a sudden shock surged through his body and he collapsed in antagonizing pain. They were witches, great. Three vampire, one older vampiress, and two annoying witches who no doubt were servants of Devlin. What were the odds Gabriel would get out of this one? Gabriel grunted trying to hold back a scream or cry not wanting to give them the satisfaction they wanted. He tried to focus and use his power which would easily turn the tide now but it felt like a constant electrical current was running through his body. He couldn't think or focus. Then a telekinetic blast flung him into the wall. He landed with a thud. The torture continued on. How pathetic.

it was a dark and rather dreary night. los angeles wasn't as crazy as new york even though it was bright and busy of course. that didn't make it any less lonely. ana had that feeling a lot, the feeling of loneliness. currently she was doing what she did best. she was wandering. she didn't like to stay in one place for too long. she did think that she was probably going to be bouncing around quite a bit between the big cities. why not? there was plenty of action in them. when one city was quiet the other was flaring up with activity. currently she had flown from new york city to los angeles. of course she had simply stowed away on a cargo plane. she didn't have the money for a ticket.
she now found herself walking around los angeles. she had been here before but she liked to come back and check up on the city every once in a while. she was wearing a pair of dark jeans, a blue tank top, a black jacket and black flats. her long dark brown hair was thrown up into a messy ponytail. as she was passing a particularly dark alley she heard a commotion. it sounded like someone being beat to a bloody pulp. she edged her way down the alley quietly to get a better look. the scene in front of her was astounding and hard to watch. one man, or at least he looked like a man, was being jumped and attacked by a group of what appeared to be three vampires, one old vampiress and two seemingly ordinary people. but as she stood there watching she noticed the man being thrown against a wall even though no one was touching him. witches, the other two were witches.
she decided that he was way outnumbered and whether he wanted help or not was not really her concern. "Well now, I don't really think that a six on one fight is really that fair, do you?" she said loudly with a small smirking smile. she was just trying to divert the attention of some of the attackers to her so that the man being attacked might have a better chance. ana knew she could easily take on the vampires, the vampiress might prove to be a challenge and she had never fought witches before. but she had been born to do this and made sure to keep on doing it. her job was to hunt and kill and she did both of those things very well. sure the lab that had created her had crossed a few wires in her brain but they had made her better too. she was stronger, faster, smarter and skilled. the seizures, insomnia and selective mutism were just the fun little extras that she got to deal with because the scientists were idiots. she stood with her hands on her hips and acted as if she was a little bored by the whole situation. "How about we make things a little more even, hmm?" she added.

Gabriel thought he heard something. He couldn't really tell however because of all the pain. But for a brief second the pain stopped. Gabriel heard Devlin yelling at the witches to continue but it was too late. Gabriel had intertwined his own influence. Gabriel slowly got up and brushed himself off. Devlin just stared entranced in the spot Gabriel had laid moments ago with a satisfied grin on her face. Gabriel had amplified and manipulated her desire to see him suffer a slow and painful death. To her she was still witnessing his torture. The witches desire to please their master Devlin was under the same illusion. The three vampires stood confused looking from Devlin to the new girl that showed up then to Gabriel finally. Gabriel had a mischievous devil like grin on his face. The vampires then assumed Gabriel was responsible. The two vampire headed towards the new girl that had distracted them while the other faced off against Gabriel. Gabriel looked onto the new girl, very lovely, and he was very grateful. He couldn't allow such elegance to be harmed. Gabriel stared deep into the vampires eyes. The vampire didn't move, Gabriel walked over to him and encircled him. He leaned in slowly and whispered something in the Vampires ear. Gabriel took a few steps back and smiled. The vampire intercepted the other two at that moment. The two vampires looked confusedly at their ally. Then Gabriel snapped his fingers and in a bloodlust rage the vampire attacked one of the two biting him and feeding off his once allied friend.
Vampire had no greater desire than to feed when they were hungry. Amplifying this and inducing this state on the vampire and then blocking out all other presence other than the two other vampire and making them appear to be human. It was easy bidding them against each other. But the one not being attacked quickly killed the other knowing he was under Gabriels control. What he didn't realize was that so was he. Two down, one left. The vampire looked down the alley, his thirst building, his mouth watering, his body feeling like it was shutting down, blood deprived. But their they were, two glorious humans, witches with the most delicious blood in the world. At least thats what Gabriel made the last vampire believe. In a moments notice the vampire had taken both witches down feeding on one then the other simultaneously. Devlin was still entranced believing to be watching Gabriel be tortured slowly to death. Gabriel walked casually now with a smirk on his face and an alluring look on his face towards the strange woman that had saved his life though he would never admit it. He paused a few feet from her. "What I don't get love, is why god would send an angel to save little old me? Surely you are one because I have been around a long time darling and I assure you such divine grace is not held within the human race. Or could I be wrong? Is my breath taking beautiful guardian angel just a human after all doing what is right? Either way, I owe you one, and you certainly have my thanks and also my attention."
Gabriel maintaining his distance from the woman started to walk around her in a slow, seductive manner. He gorgeous blue eyes that lit up in the moonlight and dark toned skin gleamed as he stepped further out of the shadow into the light from outside the alleyway. He eyes her over and gazed enticingly at her. "My name is Gabriel. Gabriel Hart. And what is it you desire this night? I owe you at least that. Such a brave thing you did. That vampiress over there alone could easily tear you apart before you had time to blink those gorgeous eyes of yours once. Even I would find her to be troublesome unchecked. But you don't appear to be scared at all, not worried, not surprised. This isn't new for you is it? Hmmm, I wonder....." Gabriel asked curiously as he paused his movement and stood facing her. "Perhaps there is even more to you than what I have seen. I already find you fascinating. It is no surprise you would end up interesting me further. It is something rare among your kind for me to take such an interest. I guess I owe you the truth but it may alarm you and I don't want you to fret over this. You have nothing to fear or concern yourself with when it comes to me. I wouldn't harm a hair on that pretty head I swear, cross my heart, hope to die. But I am a demon, full disclosure, but a unique one at that. Its a pleasure to meet you." Gabriel awaited a reaction or response. He wasn't sure how his new 'friend' would react but he already knew he was going to like her or better yet, already did.

ana watched, intrigued really, as the scene played out before her. she saw the man being attacked suddenly break into a smirk as he left the vampiress staring at the empty ground where his body had been. she then watched as he stared down one of the vampires and also registered that two were headed towards her. she cracked a small smirk herself and waited. she could kill them quite easily, that she knew. but before they could advance on her the single vampire intercepted them and started to drain the blood from one. the other, realizing what was happening killed his turned ally. but before anything else could progress, ana watched the vampire's go suddenly blank and then he turned and went after the witches. the one vampire that was left killed the witches rather brutally. ana was surprised when the man didn't kill the last vampire, the one that had just taken down the witches or kill the vampiress. he just left her standing there, looking at the empty ground with a smile plastered on her face like this was the happiest moment of her life. none of it made any sense at all.
ana then shifted her gaze back to the man as he approached her. he looked like he had just been beaten to near death, probably because he had. he then started to speak to her and boy did he have a lot to say. ana didn't think she could ever say as much as he did in the next few moments, even if her life depended on it. she simply stood and listened. watching him with hawk like eyes as he moved around her. his first chunk of speech instantly set her off guard. he was odd. calling her love and an angel. she didn't like it. of course, she was completely and utterly emotionally unavailable and could be hit in the face with flirtatious behavior and not have a clue what it was. she answered what little of what he had said that she could understand. the part about whether she was human. "Umm, I am just human" she replied. the snarky tone she had used on his attackers was replaced by her softer and shyer tone.
next he went on to tell her his name, his full name. that was something she never did. not because it was a big deal but just because the less people that knew her the less people she had to worry about. she didn't like have loose ends. "I'm Ana, short for Anastasia" she answered in their exchange of names. he went on to ask her what she desired. she hesitated and then simply said "I don't desire anything." this was partially the truth and partially a lie. she desired a place to call home, a normal life, her family back, all things that this man could not give her. then he went on to inquire about how she had not been afraid of the vampires or the witches, about how this must not be new to her. "Technically no this is not new to me at all. I am, well I have been called, a hunter. I could have easily handled the vampires, the vampiress maybe not. Vampires are not exactly one of things that keeps me awake at night" she replied with a small smile and a shrug. she wasn't going to delve any deeper into that. leave him guessing, she was good at that.
what came next surprised her yet again, this man was full of surprises. he told her, very blatantly that he was a demon. of course he went on to continue with the strange comments, like he would never harm a hair on her pretty head. she had been called pretty before, even beautiful, but that was by alek. no one else had ever complimented her and she wasn't used to it. hearing these words, the tone of gabriel's voice when he said them, it was all rather uncomfortable really. "Well I can't say I have ever met a demon that I wasn't supposed to kill. So tell me, how do I know you won't try and kill me? I hope you don't think that I should just take your word on it. Cause as far as I am concerned I shouldn't trust you. I don't trust people on command" she replied as if it was common sense. this was her way of life and it had kept her alive so far so she wasn't going to change it now. in her eyes he was guilty until proven innocent, which was backwards than how it should be. but hey, her entire life was pretty much backwards. "On that note, It may or may not be a pleasure to meet you as well" she added in conclusion and then fell silent to wait and see what he might say. she was glad that her stupid selective mutism wasn't showing its ugly face right now.

Gabriel held a friendly smile upon his face. "Anastasia, what a lovely name. Well Ana, you say you desire nothing, but that simply can't be. Everyone desires something, dreams of something, seeks something. Doesn't matter good or bad or somewhere in between nor what race you are. But don't fret darling I won't pry, I respect the boundaries you put up and even commend them. You never know who you can trust these days it is true." Gabriel had a pondering look upon his face as he walked halfway around Ana. He chuckled faintly "Heh, lucky you. I have had many vampire keep me up at night many a nights. They can be a troublesome bunch, always wanting to get close and cuddle afterwards, only problem is they bite.....will never get use to that." Gabriel had an innocent look on his face as he shrugged his shoulders "I swear I am not one of those demons you are suppose to kill. Cross my heart, hope to die by you're hands." Gabriel put his arms down and cocked his head to the side as he gazed at Ana analyzing her cautiousness. She was still young but it was clear she was raised and trained under a specific mindset of a hunter. "Ana lets get one thing straight. You assisted me in escaping that predicament I clearly had under control thus I suppose I owe you so even if I wanted to hurt you I couldn't out of principle and the moral lines I keep in check. But I promise you love, I certainly don't want to try to hurt you let alone kill you and you don't have to take my word on it. No, instead take my actions."
Gabriel cleared his throat preparing to point out details that were obviously unseen. "You saw this group tear eachother apart no? Well that was me darling encase you were wondering. Don't think I couldn't have just as easily sent them after you. You said it yourself you could have made light work of the vamps. You still would have done the task for me that I desired by killing them. However also stated by you the older vampiress back heir stuck in her own little world right now would have been a problem, especially with two witches backing her. You would have been overwhelmed and overpowered despite your abilities. If I wanted you killed angel you certainly would be dead right now. And ya know, I am more than capable of making it happen still. But obviously as I have shown, I have no ill will towards you, just concern. Whats something so beautiful doing out and about on her own. Do hunters not stick together anymore? Or perhaps their are more of you close by?" Gabriel inquired curious to know exactly how many their were in his city and what they were up to. Gabriel had encountered many of these beings in his long life. They usually killed first and asked questions later and many times had complete disregard for good or bad, if one was of supernatural kind then they were an enemy. But not all of them.
"All this scurrying about had built up an appetite. I know a quiet diner around the corner thats still open. If you don't mind joining me I would love to discuss some important matters you may find interesting given your profession and I would hate to see something happen to you after you already helped me out of such a nasty situation. It would be rude of me certainly if nothing less. Or not, its up to you." Gabriel with that started to head off. He paused a moment than muttered "Drat, Stupid rules" he snapped his finger and a plain white tang top covered his shirtless upper body. Boy did he hate having to wear cloths when he felt he shouldn't have. The level of uncomfortably among the human populace always baffled him so. They were born without cloths, evolved from wearing pretty much non with the only exception being some kind of warming layer, and in many places like in europe going to the beach naked was normal. It just frustrated Gabriel sometimes. But he had lived with it and learned not to let it bother him too much.

ana noticed something pretty much right from the get go about this demon, gabriel. he sure did talk a lot. it seemed like he always had something to say and he turned things into long winded responses. ana couldn't say she was much of a talker, she never had been. only person she had ever spent hours upon hours talking with had been alek, but he wasn't around anymore. if she missed anyone it was alek and her son and her daughter. she listened to him talk about how she should trust him because he could have killed her. because he could have let the others kill her. she supposed that was a good reason. trust someone because they hadn't tried to kill you. but she didn't hand out trust that easily. "Well I can't say that I will trust you completely. I trust that you won't kill me, right now. That doesn't mean that my opinion won't change" she replied honestly. that was just how she went about her life. trust if given the reason to trust, but never trust completely.
the way he talked was just throwing her off. he seemed to talk in a way that was not normal. he referred to vampires in a way that made her think that he wasn't going around killing them. "So what kind of demon are you anyway?" she asked curiously. she wanted to know what he was so that she might have a better idea of how to act or rather react around him. when he asked her if there were others like her nearby she hesitated for a moment. "I work alone most of the time. I haven't ran into any other hunters. I used to have some partners but we split up a long while back" she replied with a small shrug to make it seemed like it wasn't that big of a deal. it was a big deal to her of course. alek was not only her best friend but also her only friend, her only ally, the only person she truly trusted and the father of her two children. he was the only one that could ever fully understand her.
when he asked if she would like to join him at a diner that was supposedly around the corner. "Sure I guess I could make time for that" she replied with a half smile. she watched as he muttered something and then pulled a shirt on. why had he even been shirtless? honestly she hadn't even noticed that he hadn't been wearing a shirt until he put one on. she did however notice that he was extremely fit. it reminded her of alek's body. she remembered feeling his rippling muscles under her hands. she had to stop herself right there though because it wasn't good to remember this stuff. alek was her one and only sexual encounter and it still made her blush just to think about it. "I would definitely be interested to hear about this information that you possess" she added as she turned and walked to the opening of the ally. she stopped there and waited for him. he was the one that knew where they were headed, she did not.
