Lily sighed inwardly as she locked the cabinet behind her and then put the key back on its hook. Clutching a thermos of tea she felt the fatigue of the day wearing on her. The weather was colder here than in L.A. and even in her Grey suit and black pumps she still just wanted to go home and relax. She'd been debating wether to venture out for an evening of fun for herself but when you don't know anyone its rather intimidating. Besides, the nights were for hunting. She'd been trained to do it and really it was one way to pay the bills. The file cabinet she had access to were the cases they wanted her to deal with. There was no set order so long as they ended up dead. Given what she had laid down for ground rules it looked like there were a lot of supernatural badguys. Not because they were supernatural but because they were legitimately bad in their own right. Sighing she went back to her desk to write up her report and soon found herself typing away without noticing who was in the room beyond a casual glance.

Saying that the last few weeks had been rough was an understatement. She had been shot in the shoulder, brutally attacked and watched as the place she was the acting CEO of fall to pieces and recieve new management in the most absurd ways possible. Thayer Gallager, as she heard, had taken over Hart Enterprises and announced his status as the son of Selena. He wouldn't have even been in such a situation, had the demon possessing Axel not decided to attack her and destroy a lot of Hart Enterprises. Why didn't she just walk back through those doors monday morning and act like none of this had happened? Because while she was in hiding, tending to her wound, she recieved the most unlikest of offers which would inevitably change her life for the better. And it would happen in New York City.
She had been singled out for the upsurge of an international company, 'The Celestial Institute', which was going to take everything to a new level altogether. She believed she had it good at Hart Enterprises, but that was nothing compared to what she was involved with here. The power this place had, and its resources, were unbelieveable even for her. She was appointed as Special Projects Manager, a title she did previously hold at Hart Enterprises, as the board of directors here appreciated the work she had undertaken at Hart Enterprises, ignoring the controversy associated with Selena's demise. They understood the circumstances which led her to being where she is at the moment, and inspired her that she was to be of much important use here, rather than in Los Angeles. She believed them. Why? Because she had nothing else left.
Stepping into the office of Lily Collins, she smirked deviliciously as she stood at the door, her clicking heels coming to a halt. She leant an arm on the door, watching as the woman was so transfixed on the work before her. "I must say, it is good to have a familiar face working here. It can be quite the experience working somewhere near without any old friends nearby." She continued to smirk over at Lily confidently. Oh how she remembered Lily Collins. The private investigator who did provide the much annoyance to her and Hart Enterprises a lot of the time, especially when her alliance with Xzavier became more evident. She stepped further into the office, taking a seat at one of the chairs in front of Lily's desk, glancing around curiously at the office. "I like what you have done with the office, Lily. Though I must say, I was expecting quite a few newspaper cut outs, and strange citing reports pinned to the walls. I suppose I underestimated your ability to change." She smiled gently as she crossed a leg over her other, still glancing directly towards Lily.

She heard the voice of Ariel Dawson and saved the file she was working on so she could turn and give the woman her undivided attention, "Well, when the place you are working for does all the leg work it does make it neater in the office." she said with her usual soft voice. "I suppose it is good to see someone you know, given how the last month has been for all of us." she rose gracefully and offered her hand as an olive branch gesture, "I know you probably know your way around by now but is there anything in particular you've not had the chance to see? The Institute is rather large and its easy to get lost here the first few days."
She didn't know why she was being nice to Ariel but it couldn't hurt to do so. They were on the same team now after all. Besides, look what siding with Xzavier had gotten her, a broken heart. Pushing the thought aside she smiled and waited for Ariel to decide what she wanted to do or know if anything. It would take a lot to trust her but given that Lily's job and hers were on different ends of the spectrum she hoped they wouldn't come to loggerheads over it all.

Hearing Lily talk about their commonority of all going through things recently, she was slightly interested in hearing what Lily had gone through. She heard things, but it wasn't solid, but she assumed that it must have been something to do with the Brothers. And coincidentally, Xzavier was also here in New York. She didn't believe in coincidences. And for Lily to come all the way to New York, she must have some backstory to it. She didn't take Lily for the person to just jump ship so quickly from her little investigatory office and come to the big leagues. Maybe she could use that to her advantage if needed, only time would tell.
She glanced down at Lily's hand as she offered it out to shake. She raised an eyebrow, smiirking, before walking over to the side of the office and ignoring her gesture as she looked out the window. If Lily thought her coming here meant that they were going to be friends, or something like that, then she would be in for a disappointment. Ariel would take her job extremely seriously here at Celestial Institute, as she did anywhere else she worked. And that meant that she wasn't going to be forming relationships with people, or putting trust into them. She wouldn't trust any of the workers here as far as she could throw them, especially Lily. She knew Lily's background with the brothers, and although it seemed like they had went their seperate ways, she couldn't be too sure about what Lily's real purpose was here.
She did smirk at Lily's question. "Oh, I'm quite certain I've seen everything there is to see around here." She continued looking out the window, before turning to Lily, the confident smirk still piercing her face. "I would like you to know, just so there isn't a miscommunication between us, that although we are working in the same place, we aren't going to be friends or anything like that. Our relationship here is strictly business, nothing more." She preferred making things clear like this from the get go, just to avoid any problems later on. She went on. "And don't think that I haven't done my research on your history with the three brothers, in particular, Xzavier Evans. I will be keeping my eye on you Lily, I may not know what your intentions are by coming to this institute, but I will find out."

It seemed like Ariel Dawson was going to keep making tactical errors in judgement. Alienating Lily was a big mistake. Keeping her poker face up as if Ariel and her were chatting about the weather she went back to her desk, turning her chair to face away from Ariel in preparation to get back to work, "Well then you won't mind if I go back to my job. Some people actually have to work here otherwise you don't get paid. How's the shoulder by the way? Did the severance pay that Hart Enterprises cover it or did you hole up in a ditch and pluck the bullet out yourself?" her tone was perfectly polite and even a touch sincere but she knew bitches like Ariel Dawson and she would live to see her buried one day. It was just a matter of time.
"If that is all you have to say, Ariel you'll excuse me if I don't see you out." she crossed her legs delicately and focused on her report. Ariel would learn she wasn't the CEO of this place soon enough and Lily didn't have time for her insecure bullshit. The phone rang and she picked it up, "Collin's here. Yes, I've pulled the file. Yes its quite extensive, thank you. Don't worry, I keep myself well prepared. Yes, I know. I'll keep that in mind...Yes, have a good day." she hung up the phone and went back to typing her report up.
