"Darling, remember to keep the music down and no alcohol." She sighed as she continued straightening her hair. "Yes, father." She then heard his voice again, and rolled her eyes. "And remember not to keep the party going too late." Her father briefly walked into the bedroom, and she looked other, delivering a look of 'well, what do you want?' "Is there anything else I've missed?" Raising an eyebrow, she went on. [/b]"Yes, you've missed the part where you rondevous already and let me enjoy my night. Remember the deal? Do well on uni assignments, I get house party to myself? That kind of means you have to go..."[/b] She went back to straightening her hair as her father looked on, smirking softly. "Love you." He then walked over to her, giving her a kiss on the cheek, before walking out and finally getting out of her damn hair for the night. She listened for the car door slamming, and the car driving off, then smirking as she rushed over to the stereo in her room, and turned the music up on high pitch. Yep, the party was finally getting started. ~~ Fully dressed, wearing an elegant rose dress, with her hair straightened and let down, she made her way down the staircase and glanced around the house, wondering what else she had to do. She was the hostess tonight, and she believed she had everything in order. Cake; refridgerated. Stereo; outside near the pool. Pool; clean, until the jocks throw one of the uninvited nerds in. Fingerfoods; set on the table. Alcohol; ready outside. After all, nothing could go wrong. Nothing! Her parties were a huge deal, and she had a reputation to uphold. Especially after everything which has happened recently. She was holding her head high, and still trying to enjoy her life. She got dumped by the captain of the football team, which took a huge toll on her popularity and even her sanity. That, paired with the fact that her 'ex' boyfriend stole her magical powers, leaving her back at square one and opened admitted that he was using her for his own personal gain. Not exactly what every girl wants to hear on what was supposed to be a special night for them as a couple. She sighed, tapping her foot slightly as she looked at the clock. It was already six o'clock, where the hell was everyone? It wasn't like there was anything else more important right now. Zombies running a muck? Meh. Grieving over Axel? Its been a week. Her popularity dwindling by the second? Get over it. She wasn't going to postpone her birthday because all of this shit decided to happen all at once. Why couldn't all this crap postpone it until after her special day? If her birthday was ruined because of this, she would be very, very agitated. She then heard the doorbell ring, and smiled satisfyingly, before walking up to the door with a tray of glasses, full of wine, her smile in tact as she begun to open the door to greet her first guest...[/blockquote]

Shane was never really the house party type. It was too generalized with the types of women he’d meet. He liked the public view of things. He was more of a “hey I meet you at a bar, we drink, we flirt way too much, I take you home, you do something you probably shouldn’t and then we call it a night and never speak to each other again unless I want to” type of guy. But he did owe Kyra Chamberlain a dress, and it wasn’t that he didn’t go back on his word because holy hell he still owed a lot of people/demons/creatures money. But when ya sleep with a chick once who definitely knows how to have some fun, and she invites you to her house on her birthday, she sure as hell isn’t inviting you because she wants to spend time with you….well that is what his logic was telling him. But it was Shane here, who’s logic seemed to be everywhere but where it should be. And besides, he didn’t even get her a dress. He ended up going the route she told him not to, but that was the fun of it. She didn’t want him to go there and….well….he did just for the sheer entertainment it would give him to see the look on her face when she opened it, the Soma Intimates box he carried containing a nice set of black panties and lace top with gold trim just like they had discussed previously. It was just like Shane to be a smart-ass.
Shane decided to walk to his destination today. His wings were still healing from the fight last week in the cages. Even though Juneau’s healing gels were cauterizing his wounds very nicely, it was still better for him to lay off the flying especially if he needed to save up his strength for another cage fight. God he never got sick of them. As much pain as they gave him, the thrill of the fight was still worth every gash, stab, slice, and anything else they’d throw at him.
As Shane approached the house, he couldn’t help but chuckle and shake his head. Kyra was definitely a materialistic girl with a lot of daddy’s money to get her by. Like he couldn’t see that coming a mile away. He had gotten that vibe from her the moment he saw her and she opened her mouth. Shane jumped up the stairs two at a time until he made it to the platform of the front porch. The house looked more like a mansion than anything else. With a girl this rich and clearly popular, Shane expected to hear a riot behind these very massive doors, but all he heard was the annoying voice of Lady Gaga’s song “Just Dance” as it came out crisp through the surround sound speakers. Shane knocked on the door and waited for Kyra or whoever to open it. She was clearly the only one in the house. He could tell by the immensely large amount of footsteps stampeding towards the door. Yeah…not! That was fine. Shane could definitely roll with a party of just the two of them.
When Kyra opened the door, Shane didn’t even wait to be invited in. He gave her a smirk and stepped through the threshold handing her the very decorative Soma Intimates box in her free hand. ”Hmm….am I early for a change? Or is everyone just really late?” Shane joked as he stepped deeper into the front room of her home. He couldn’t help but scope things out. It was a rather nice looking home actually.

She smiled feintly when she saw that Shane was going to be her first guest, and looked on as he walked right through and begun checking out the house. She was sure this was probably the nicest place he had ever had the pleasure of being in. She rolled her eyes and dropped the cocktail plate on the bench, as her arm was getting tired from playing 'fake hostess' to everyone. She turned to Shane, smiling softly. Well, this was strange. The last time they were together, they pretty much hooked up. She was going through a lot of shit, and was a bit loony, leading to her crying on Shane's shoulder. But she couldn't deny how amazing the night went; she would deny it to him, but that was something else altogether. She had had amazing moments with Wesley, but with Shane being the only other man she had slept with, comparisons were bound to be made. They had similar personalities, but there was something about Shane which made her feel good. There was just something about him.
She sighed at his question. She was asking herself the exact same thing. "Yeah, looks like it is just us for now. Iv'e had a few calls from people, they are just running a bit late, trying to round up everyone who wanted to come. Saves the trip, you know?" She smiled confidently, which was a brave face, before walking over to the bench and picking up her glass of champaigne, and taking a sip. Looks like she would be needing a lot of these tonight, if it doesn't go as well as she hoped. She walked over to the fridge, then glancing over at Shane. "What do you drink? Beer? Wine? Soft drink? Well I don't have any softdrink, and don't take you for a wine drinker, so it'll be beer then. Oh, and you don't have to just stand there, you can walk around if you want. Just don't steal anything to use as leverage against whoever is chasing you this week." She begun opening the beer with a bottle opener, before passing it over to him, then raised an eyebrow when she saw the box he was holding. "Uh, what is that? Now, I'm not calling myself an expert or anything, but I highly doubt that a dress would fit in that tiny package. And even if it did, it would be so stupid to crease it in there like that anyway." She eyed him challengingly, having a fair idea of what might be inside the package. Sure, he could suprise her and actually get her some jewellery or something, but if she was correct about her assumptions about Shane, she wouldn't be suprised at all.

”How long do you think we have?” Shane commented with a raise of his eyebrow as she said it was just the two of them for now. He smirked as he continued to wander around the front room. It was shocking to see the vast differences between the wealthy on earth and the lords and kings in Andromida. Maybe it was just the personality and personal preference of the Baccrums to keep their castles foreboding all the time as opposed to the humans who seemed to be more interested in being bright, shiny, and way too flashy. It was honestly hard to focus on just one thing in particular because everything seemed to be catching his eye.
Until his eyes scanned the corner of the room was he able to find something that hit him closer to home. The feeling that washed over him was unexpected and rather troubling, so much so that he hadn’t even realized Kyra had been speaking to him and had now exited the room. There, in the corner of the room, up against the wall, rested a very tall and thin oak curio cabinet, its glass glaring out at Shane. It wasn’t the actual cabinet that was drawing him in. It was the contents inside.
Shane stopped right in front of it staring in at the gorgeous pieces of glass molding into tiny figurines of mostly different animals present here on Earth. He hadn’t seen anything like this for 80 + years. It had taken Shane that long to realize how much he really did miss his world. Glass was a delicacy in Andromida. It was one thing that the Baccrums had in abundance. Because of this, they would create beautiful things with it and give them to royalty to honor their lords or sell them to other townsfolk for silver. Some Baccrums lived off of building things with glass. The diversity in figurines that would be fashioned was endless. Even though the beauty of these inventions could never be compared to the beauty of the ones in Andromida, they still filled Shane’s head with memories of his home. A home that lately, he’d been missing more than anything.
Shane’s eyes were finally ripped away from the glass figurines when he could feel a presence next to him. His eyes fell on Kyra who was standing next to him and handing him a beer. ”Oh, uh….thanks.” Shane said as he took the beer from her hand. When did she go get this, he thought but just decided not to ask. It was already obvious he wasn’t listening to a word she might have said. Shane took a large swig of the beer as Kyra mentioned her birthday present. He shrugged. ”Nah I figured I’d like this better. And don’t worry about creasing. These are designed for lots and lots of movements and creases. Trust me.” It was so strange how someone like Kyra had so easily been able to distract him from his memories. Maybe it was because deep down, guilt would arise when he remembered. He had promised Lena he’d come back for her. And she probably believed him mainly because he believed it himself. But it had been 80 + years, and where had he gotten? He was a drug dealer and a cage fighter for Earth. Basically nowhere. In order to get back to Andromida, save Lena, and get away alive, he’d have to destroy the king….Mal. There was no way Mal would give her away willingly, and he sure as hell wouldn’t let them escape either. He’d be after them for sure. And he had yet to find a witch or witch doctor strong enough to get him back to Andromida anyways. He was stuck wondering what Mal had done to Lena since then or even if she was still alive. If there was a way to peek in just for a second to see what he had to work with, that could be very helpful. But what could he do at this very moment? Pretty much nothing. The only people he had met who would have been able to help him at all were either Kyra or Juneau. But then Kyra had to go and let her fuck up of a boyfriend steal her powers, and Juneau was nowhere to be found lately. But even if Juneau did show up at some point , and he could actually help him look into the happenings of his dimension, what then? He had told Lena he would come back for her out of feelings of sheer loss and anger. If he did find a way to kill Mal, he would have to become lord of Andromida. And that my friends….that was the problem that Shane would never explain to anyone. He was terrified of committing to anything. He couldn’t even commit to a woman let alone a whole dimension because he just couldn’t get himself to care enough. Put into a position like that, he would have to care….and Shane just wasn’t ready for that. So, Shane tried very hard to push everything out of his mind for right now, enjoy his beer, and enjoy the possible fun he’d have with Babydoll tonight because he wasn’t ready to take those steps. Even though he knew that Lena was in danger and had been for a long time, he just couldn’t bring himself to take the initiative he needed to.
He wondered if Kyra would open the box right here and now. ”You know, you could always go try them on now. I mean no one is here anyway. Besides, this room isn’t the only room in this big ass house. I’m sure there are more you’d like to show your guest.” Shane smirked insinuating that he wanted to see the more personal areas of her house for obvious reasons.

Phillip, Mari, Shannell and others make an appearence, which ends up turning into a night full of fights, disagreements and tension which not even Kyra is able to mend. Shane helps her clean up, leading to Shane staying over the night, whilst Kyra is angered at how her big birthday bash turned out and how she really isn't just "miss popular anymore" and how she will deal with this.
