She was early for meeting Trent. Her flats clicked on the floor and she heard moaning in the distance. Not knowing what was up she peeked her head in, her peach dress swirled about her as she moved. Peering in she saw what looked like a blood orgy. Bodies of women were strewn around like lifeless dolls. Some with their eyes still open and lifeless. Some appeared to have died where they fell and others looked like they had tried to run and been hunted down if the marks on their clothes were any indication. Blood pooled here and there. Not all of it drank and some of it staining the walls here and there. She glanced at the wall next to her and she saw a series of hand prints some freshly made and red and others brown from drying. Flies were starting to collect and she bit her lip lightly as she felt a wave of nausea hit her. In a corner Trenton was feeding on a rather buxom redhead who could have been a model. She was moaning like she was in a porno and for all she knew Trent could have convinced the girl she was. "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING??" she shouted to get his attention, "Being the elder of the city means you act with decorum not like some horny vamp fledgling who slaughters humans like sheep WHAT THE HELL, TRENT???" she was mad as hell and it showed in her eyes as she walked over and pried the girl away from him, "Dinner time is over." the girl passed out and died where she fell and Mari watched her ghost join the confused bunch in the corner. "Holy shit. Look at this. What do you have to say for yourself???" she placed her hands on her hips angrily as her eyes flashed.

Trenton was supposed to be meeting Marina soon, but he needed to satiate himself and he hadn't had a good feeding in a while. So, he had compelled a small group of girls to come home with him and had begun his feeding right away.
As the redheaded girl---whom Trent hadn't bothered getting a name from---moaned and kissed him all over, he looked at the chaos that his home had been thrown into. He let out a smile. Now this was how a vampire was supposed to live. Killing, feeding, screwing humans' heads...I have not felt this invigorated since I started courting Marina, he thought to himself. Not that he regretted involving himself with her. He loved Marina more than anything else in the world, but he missed being able to act on his predatory nature.
The redhead moaned again, this time, acting as if she making some kind of film and he rolled his eyes. Okay, time to get rid of her, he thought to himself. With that, he leaned forward, pulling her close and sank his fangs into her neck, enjoying the coarse thickness that traveled down his throat.
Just then, Marina's angry voice cut the silence. He stared at her as she berated him, saying that as an elder, he had to be responsible and not act like a fledgling and what he thought he was doing. "I'm being a vampire! It is what I am and this is what I do! I feed! I kill!" he shouted back. Really? Who did she think she was talking to? Had she been expecting him to be like some pansy that only drank that horrible animal blood? Not even bothering to wipe his mouth, he began gathering up the bodies and dragging them towards where his underground room was.

"You could live off of donated blood you don't have to butcher people. There are other ways to feed that don't involve a body count!" she said as she stared at him. Too mad to care that she'd just interrupted a vamp mid feeding and was chastising an elder like he was a toddler. "You have been given a privilage and that means you act better than this. You act above your base instincts!" she glanced at the dead redhead, "And if its feeding why was she all up on you like a bitch in heat?" alright she was pissed. More than a little.
"You got all pissed off about me kissing Rodney and yet you're doing this shit and not even telling me. I was honest with you about it at least. As best I could be given that you're like never here. Probably treating the US like its vamp Olive Garden with its never ending blood bowl!" Oh yeah she was angry, "You told me feeding didn't matter but she was all up on you like she was glued to you. That's not nothing Trent.." she turned and walked towards the door, "Nevermind, I can't talk about this right now. I'm pissed at you and I need to cool off." She was mad enough to stake him right where he was, "If this is what you had in mind for a date you can forget it. I'm walking home."
She walked out the door. She'd deal with the ghosts later she just could not deal with Trent right now. She was angry and she knew it.

Trent rolled his eyes when Marina suggested using donated blood. "Do you have any idea how horrible that blood tastes? You taste more of the bag it came out of than the blood," he responded. And it was true. He had attempted the donated blood, but it had left a bad taste in his mouth. He preferred his blood one hundred percent natural.
However, he did blanch when Marina mentioned the redhead's actions. That part was fair. Then, he shook his head. Why was he worrying about what she thought? Just because they were dating, did not mean that she had the right to change everything about him. He started to tell her this, but she just barreled on, saying that he probably treated the U.S. like a feeding ground. "How I feed is none of your business," he told her. "But just to put your little mind at ease, she had barely attached herself to me when I decided to dispose of her," he spat out.
Seeing that she was about to leave, Trenton felt a trace of alarm and his words came crashing back at him. Why had he said those things? It was nothing that Diana or Noah would not have said to him if they had caught him doing this. He quickly ran to the door, positioning himself in front of her so that she could not leave. "You are right. This was...foolishness. I apologize," he told her.

"Oh I forgot when you can only eat one thing you get to be picky. Holy crap that is the dumbest excuse I have ever heard, Trent. You're spoilt and decadent and it will get you killed one day." she warned him as she looked at him with fire in her gaze. Her peach dress swirling about her delicately in counterpoint to the grim topic.
"How you feed affects me too. If I have to tell you everything than you have to be honest with me. You don't get to pull male privilage crap on me, Trent I won't stand for it. If you get to have girls grind up all on you like you're a pole in a strip club then I get to go out and go places too!" she snapped back at him and went to leave. Her eyes looking down and she gathered her purse.
"And the only thing little here is you which is why you need to compensate with your hypnotism." she snapped at him as she stormed off and went to go for the door. She looked at him as he sped to the door, "Oh great more vamp powers to show off with." she said as she stood there. "You are being an asshole Trent and a hypocrite and I want to go. I'm so pissed at you right now you don't even know." she said as she went to push past him. Her eyes flashing and her cheeks red.

Trenton growled in frustration. Why did she have to be making such valid points? Of course what he did affected her, and to an extent, it could affect the vampire community. He knew he had to be careful when feeding. Speaking of being careful, Marina looked ready to kill anyone or anything that got into her path. While he was glad that she was feeling bold enough to speak her mind, he did wish he had not been on the receiving end. "You are absolutely correct that my actions affect you, and I was acting like a fledgling," he admitted. "But I am not taking back what I said about the blood bags. It is...disgusting," he insisted.
When she told him that she was pissed, he nodded. "Yes, I can tell," he responded. Now, how exactly should he correct that? He stepped forward, tilted his head so that it was positioned in perfect alignment of where his mark lay and then moved forward, intending to kiss her.

She glared at him, still very angry and hurt, "I trusted you, Trent." she said as she shook her head, "I try very hard not to get involved with vamp politics and not to get preachy but when you kill a room full of sorority girls I'm gonna wonder if its more than a bite to eat." she said to him as she felt herself growing tired.
"There are many ways to feed and you know it. Donations, rotating people a number of ways." she stood there in front of him and sighed still angry at him. She didn't want to get over this and make an excuse for him or she'd end up like a battered wife.
Then he blurred and she blinked feeling him wrap his arms around her and kiss her neck, the jolt of pleasure she felt was electrifying. Crying out in pleasure, she pressed against him instinctively, suddenly understanding a little bit of the red head's perspective. She moved her neck towards his lips and sighed, trying to retain her anger as she felt him pull her closer so their bodies were molded together. She tried to keep it together but his kiss had her transfixed in more ways than she knew. "Trent, what are you trying to do?" she got out raggedly. Her legs felt like jelly and buckled as she felt him lift her up to compensate, "I'm not done being mad at you! This is so not fair!!" There was a pouty tone to her voice as she shivered against him. It was like he'd flipped a switch and her body wasn't hers any more. WTH? She wrapped her arms around him more to keep her balance than anything romantic, at least that was what she told herself. She had no idea that a vampire bite could do this. Blood from his victim smeared her neck and she trembled in his arms aware of just how unpredictable he was. He'd apologized but she was still uncertain as to what he might do. Her anger slowly melted away as his kiss continued and she felt herself relax quietly in his arms. Her mind finding it hard to think.
She pressed against him quietly, the bliss over riding her thoughts as her thoughts of protest died and she closed her eyes and bowed her head gently. Leaning on him as her mind drifted to a happy place with his lips on her neck smearing the blood of his victim on her. Softly she shivered and tried to collect enough thought to speak, "Trent, just because I was mad doesn't mean I was going to leave you forever." she murmured as she relaxed, feeling his arms shift so she was more comfortable, "I just...wanted time to not be mad." she got out slowly as she bit her lip and let him support her weight, "I have a temper and it gets the better of me so sometimes...I have to step away to cool off so I don't say things in the heat of the moment."
She needed him to understand that while she wasn't happy with him she wasn't going to run for the hills at the slightest glance or raised voice. Firstly, she knew he would just pursue her if she did flee and secondly she needed him to understand that he didn't need to worry that the slightest disagreement meant they were over. She wasn't that kind of a girl. Granted there was a lot about Trent that was bad but she could hardly judge him for it given her own family on her father's side.
Exhaling softly she did her best to keep her tone soft, "I'm sorry for screaming at you." she bit her lip, "I was being a shrew and I let my temper get to me. I'm sorry. I just...was surprised and worried....I didn't know...whether you wanted me to see that or not." she said with a bit of an awkward pause. "So much has happened and its only been six months since I met you." strange to say but it was true, six months wasn't a long time but it seemed like she was a whole nother person now. "I'm sorry I'm so slow to pick things up." she admitted softly.

Summary Once Trenton has Mari calmed down he carries her to his rooms to rest for a bit before he zips off to dispose of the bodies and clean up any residuals of his night of partying. Returning he curls up with her and holds her close, releaved that she is not going to leave him over his lapse in judgement. He reminds her that she is his link to humanity and he doesn't want to lose her and Mari does her best to assure him that with his mark and who her mother is its unlikely he's going to lose her. She apologizes for worrying him but allows him to see that she is not planning on running off or doing anything bold or daring. She has plenty to live for and is content to take things slow. She drifts off to sleep, still worried about how Trent used the mark to his advantage. The next morning she leaves a note letting him know she has some errands to run but she should be back that night. As the hours go Trent has a feeling of dread fill him and goes to the hospital to find Mari there broken and bloody from her father's attack.
