Shane made his way down the halls of his apartment building. It was six stories high, and normally he would just fly to the top and get in through the balcony, but Juneau was with him. Shane may have spent some time sharing a bit of himself with Juneau a few nights before because Juneau saved his life and all, but he hadn’t shown Juneau his full form just yet. If Juneau happened to decide out of the blue that Shane needed to die for some reason, Shane would still have the upper hand because well, Juneau still wasn’t sure of everything Shane could do just yet. Although he was starting to think that Juneau may not be an issue at all. They seemed to have an agreement of some sorts although the agreement was never actually made. Juneau did know quite a lot about Shane now, and Shane knew quite a lot about Juneau. Because of this, they just kept getting into situations where they both could help each other. The other day, Juneau had saved Shane from turning into molten rock and bursting into chunks. Now, Juneau had agreed to help him get his knew roomie to talk. But it wasn’t all just for nothing. Apparently, Juneau was a new….well newer witch doctor which meant that all these things that Shane was asking of him were actually helping him in the long run. It was good practice. But Shane really had no idea what Juneau was going to do to Cassie tonight, he just hoped it would work. Cassie had been with him for over a week now, and she hadn’t said one word. How the hell was he going to find out if her power was strong enough to kill Mal if he still had no clue what it was even doing to her? So, Shane had asked Juneau to do something to A.) finally get her to say a helpful word or two and B.) stabilize her so her power wouldn’t go completely overboard and destroy her body/brain completely which would also help with the ‘crazy’ problem she was having.
When Shane finally reached his apartment door, he sighed. God it sure took a lot longer to get up there than he was used to. Shane stuck the key in the door and fidgeted with it to get it open. ”She’s a bit shy and don’t forget….crazy, so try not to get her scared. She really doesn’t like that.” Shane warned as he pushed open the door. Shane walked in throwing his keys on the small table next to the door. ”Cassie, it’s me! I’m home.” Shane wanted to make sure she knew he was in the house. The last thing he wanted was his visitor to be impaled by a flying chair because Cassie had no clue who had come through the front door.

Cassie has been staying with Shane for about a week, he’d been really understanding with her though his curiosity with her was questionable. She sat in her own little room, looking around as she as on her bed, with her legs crossed, Indian style, as she closed her eyes. She thought about Darryl and now Shane how Darryl never cared about her and how Shane now is super curious with her, it was a change, it was different, she wasn’t sure if she liked it or hated it, it worried her yet made her feel good at the same time. But as she opened her eyes, she was a bit shocked, she noticed everything in the room was kind of floating and off the floor, it scared her slightly as it all just came down suddenly, she was suddenly scared again and wondered why this was happening to her but it seems to come up every time she thought of Darryl and him never showing up to meet her, never being there for her, only for Shannelle.
Then he heard the door open and he could hear Shane saying he’s back, which he always did when he walked in for some reason, though she never figured out why he did it but it was nice to know he was at least kind enough to let her know when he’s back. She just got up, and headed towards the door, in this white old fashioned looking night gown Shane found but it was nice and she liked it. She closed the door behind her and walk through the hall, making her way to the living room, where Shane would usually come in the door. She slowly looked out behind the wall as she heard more footsteps, Shane wasn’t alone. Her eyes peaked out on the side and looked at the guy Shane was with, now she wasn’t sure what was going on. She slowly walked out from behind the wall, not really introducing herself, just staring at the new person, looking kind of a mental case with her crazy here and of course, walking barefoot, she couldn’t remember the last time she wore shoes really. She stood in the room, looking at the new stranger with a questioning look on her face.

A very peculiar friendship had developed between Juneau and Shane. Witchdoctor and demon pairings weren't uncommon, supposedly, since the former were historically neutral beings. But this friendship was made bizarre by the level of professionalism it carried, coupled with the fact that Juneau had a schoolboy's crush on his friend Shane. It was a symbiosis-esque relationship, which was all that mattered.
Finally climbing all of the flights of stairs and reaching the apartment, Juneau was given a few last minute reminders by Shane. Basically, no sudden movements and no provoking the mental case. Challenge accepted. "Don't worry, I can handle it."
The door was opened, and within a few moments there she stood. Wild haired, wide eyed, homely dressed and barefoot. "I've heard a lot about you, Cassie," Juneau said before cautiously walking over to the nearest table. There, he unloaded his sack of goods from home. He'd insisted on performing at his own place where his magic was strongest, but finally agreed to do it here at Shane's because it was where Cassie was most comfortable. "Hopefully, I'll be able to help you out with your little... problem."
He had formulated a plan of action going into this thing. The first step was to tranquilize the patient - any accidental power surge she experienced while he was trying to help her might prove dangerous, or fatal, to either one of them. He produced a single vial of teal liquid made of mint, ginger, and a host of obscure potion ingredients. It's effects? Bind Cassie's telekenetic powers for one hour while also making her comatose. He slowly extended the glass to her, nodding his head at her. "I need you to drink this, okay? It won't hurt you."
Juneau looked over at Shane for some confirmation from him. He needed his verbal backing or Cassie wasn't likely to ingest anything this long-haired witch had to offer.

When Cassie stepped out from behind the wall, Shane gave her a half smile. ”Hey you.” Shane was actually rather nice to Cassie which was strange because when it came to women, he wasn’t really the type for kind words that made them weak in the knees. He was more of the ‘oh we are both really hot so why don’t we get out of here’ type after a very action packed night. But Cassie hadn’t bothered him a bit for this whole week and a half. Maybe it was because she was mute at the moment. Shane thought about that. Come to think of it, that was actually probably the reason behind his amiability towards her. If she didn’t talk, he didn’t have to worry about witty and sarcastic comments very similar to the ones that Kiera had thrown his way. Oh wait, that wasn’t her name. It was Kyra. Man was she nice to look at.
Juneau spoke breaking the silence. Of course, Cassie probably would not respond to anything Juneau said, but that was to be expected. She hadn’t talked to him, so she sure as hell wasn’t going to talk to someone different. But Shane had hoped that Cassie would remember that Shane did mention to her that he had met someone who may be able to help her. For this reason, Shane was very grateful that Juneau was being cautious right now. Because Shane had no idea if Cassie was even comprehending anything that he had told Cassie.
Shane watched as Juneau dumped his sack of goodies onto the table near Cassie. Juneau fished for something out of the pile of items and retrieved a vial of teal liquid which he gingerly handed to Cassie letting her know that the liquid would not hurt her when she drank it. Juneau’s eyes met Shane’s who knew exactly what that meant. Shane liked to hope that Cassie trusted him now that he had saved her from the psych ward at City of Angels, but he really didn’t know with her. It was so hard to tell just about anything really. Was she comfortable with him? Yes, she had to be. She hugged him the day that he helped her escape, and that same day they sat on the roof for who knows how long just staring out at the city while Shane said a few words here and there. Not to mention the things that had happened over the past week and a half. Was it safe to say that Cassie thought Shane to be a good friend now? He really hoped that Cassie had come to trust him like that. Because if she didn’t, and she rejected the potion that Juneau had made for her, it was going to be a disastrous evening of items flying off the walls, furniture shooting across the room, the whole apartment and probably the rest of the complex shaking violently and some possible screaming. Shane would have to pray to Lord Demion in hopes that that would not happen. Just what he needed; more attention being brought to him. Shane nodded at Cassie. ”It’s okay Cassie. It isn’t going to hurt you. I promise. He is here to help.” The word ‘promise’ had definitely been something she would probably hook on to. He did in fact promise to get her out of the psych ward which he followed through on. Maybe that meant something to her.

Seemingly this guy heard about her, she was still curious by it all, Shane being nice to her, now this guy, it all seemed questionable to her right now but she was a bit more fascinated with what this guy was doing. She just stared at him, wondering what was up with his little potion things. She just stared at him, wondering what he was doing, staring at his hair, it wasn’t the type of person Cassie was usually exposed too, but he fascinated her, he was another strange character, different from Shane but yet, they had similarities in how they talked and acted around her. Though she did wonder why Shane told him about her and how they knew each other, it was all weird for her now and she really couldn’t wrap her brain around it all, though her mind was currently all over the place with thoughts of Shannelle and Darryl behind of it but slowly being filtered with thoughts of Shane, though Darryl always remained deep in her thoughts.
She was so distracted with his things and powders and whatever that she didn’t realize he was handing her something, seemingly all this time when she was deep in thought, he put together something for her to drink. She wasn’t sure to do about it, she just looked up at Shane, this mysterious man was telling her it’s okay, but what did Shane think, should she do it, and then he said those words, he promised she was going to be okay, so far he has been right, he promised to save her before and that he did, was he right now? Why would he make such promises? Cassie just looked at the potion this mysterious man was handing her, he must be a witch or something. She slowly went for the liquid, she was scared and it became clear she was, slowly the furniture in the room started moving, trembling a bit as Cassie grew more nervous. She now had the glass in her hand, she just took one look at Shane, dead in the eyes as she lifted the glass and slowly drank this liquid that tasted horrible as she could feel it run down her throat.
She suddenly felt weird, she didn’t know what it was, but her eyes we back locked on Shane, thought she felt slightly betrayed because her body wasn’t feeling the same, she was feeling horrible, though her eyes never left Shane and her face was expressing countless emotions, anger, betrayal, suddenly everything in the room was moving, the chairs, the table, the windows trembling, even the potions were moving, everything was moving as if the whole place was haunted, Cassie’s sights were eventually off of Shane as she grabbed her head, feeling a surge of pain and then, she was no more, it was dark, there was nothing, she fell to the floor while slowly hearing the sound of everything slowly fading away and then it was suddenly quiet and dark……and…nothing more. And the room and everything in it, was suddenly quiet and nothing more, was moving.

Thread Summary: Once Cassie is unconscious from the liquid that was given to her by Juneau, Juneau gets to work trying to get her to speak and stabilize her ability. Shane helps when he can taking orders from Juneau. They only have an hour to get this done due to the fact that the vial of liquid that was given to Cassie only lasts that long. If she wkes up, she would likely be terrified and possibly hurt them. But they do it within the time constraints. Juneau believes everything is taken care of. Talking is more done when Cassie is ready, but with the progression of the stabilization of her abilities, she will begin to speak again. But the stabilization will take some time.
As they wait for Cassie to wake, Shane realizes that even though Juneau is still learning his skill, he can still potentially help him with getting a sneak peek into his dimension without actually going there. Shane decides to hold off with this idea until he is sure the stabilization of Cassie's abilities actually works
