The Lovelace family is waiting vigil at the hospital where Mari is being treated, having used their powers to send her warm thoughts and what healing energies they can. Merry reflects to Tana via sign language how sometimes family isn't what you are born into but those that you choose and he agrees as Sienna goes to help the nurses care for Mari who is still emotionally distraught. Merry peeks in and quietly asks if Mari needs anything and promises that she will not have to deal with the press till she is ready to.
They talk and Mari asks for Merry's forgiveness for distracting Rodney from her and Merry assures her that she had nothing to do with it and that Connor was the one who made her separate from Rodney, Mari just made it more bearable because she knew Mari needed him more.
Coming back into the main part of the hospital Merry sees her father taking off to help deal with Reginald. He asks her and her cousins to look after Mari and to keep an eye on her if his errand takes him longer than expected. Tana and Tera offer to help but he asks them to help keep Mari's spirits up because she'll need someone to heal her for a change.
