Thayer headed home, filled with tears, once again he failed what was up with him, all Emery has thought them, overcoming that horrible demented boiling hot water and taking on a Dragon wasn’t able to make him a strong confident individual? He was just as lame as they come, a loser, worthless, that’s all he was, he let his mother down all over again. Thayer ran up the stairs, as he ran pass by random people looking at him weird, looking worried, if they only knew how worthless he was. He much of a disappointment he was. He made it towards Emery’s apartment, where he’s been staying all this time, he didn’t dare going back to his dorm, even after learning Ariel was dead, the idea of being alone just haunted him too much. He fiddled in his pockets trying to get the keys out, it was hard for him to do so, being an emotional wreck.
He managed to get the key into the slot as he turned the key and opened the door, he entered the room and closed the door behind him. He leaned his back against the door just looked straight in front of him, he didn’t know what he was looking at, he wasn’t sure what he was looking at, all he could see was Ariel calling him a loser, saying horrible, horrible things about him. He forced his eyes shut as tears rolled down his cheek. He cleaned his cheek as he headed towards the couch, he took a seat and sat there, he hoped Emery wasn’t home to see him, or that she would come and see what a wreck he was, she’d probably be disappointed in him too, after all the time she spent teaching him all he needed to know, he still failed, he still was a loser, that was the best way to put it, like Ariel said, he was worthless.
He slowly leaned forward as he placed his elbows on his knees and covered his face as he cried, just cried his heart out, cried like the little kid he was long ago, like when he lost his adoptive mother, like when he lost Harmony, like when he heard the news about Selena, Thayer was nothing more than broken now and if Emery would also remind him of how much he was a loser, he didn’t think he’d survive, he’d run away from it all, run away from the world, run away from everyone, which is what he did great, run away from everything.

Emery collapsed onto the man she had been riding for about an hour and a half now her skin sticking to his. She was completely out of breath which would make sense. I mean it was hard work keeping control long enough to actually reach that ecstasy that so many people longed for. But boy did she have no problem in that department. It seemed that her lure had been quite enticing lately even when she didn’t mean for it to be. It was because of all the emotions that bitch had brought up. It was too much for her to handle. After that fight with the vampire in the warehouse, she ended up going on a very mini killing spree where she took the life of numerous men in the strip club on Burberry Street just to make herself feel better about her current state, feel more competent. To prove to herself that she could do whatever the hell she wanted to do regardless of what her demon told her to do. But having Thayer around made things difficult….very difficult. Not only did it make it hard to disregard the words that the vampire had said to her, but it was also hard to live with Thayer. Not that he was a problem at all. They were actually getting….closer than Emery first thought they would. But having him around just made it harder to actually get away with things like murdering people. She had to be very cautious if she wanted her devious plan to actually work out in her favor.
”Was that as good for you as it was for me?” Emery asked as she pushed herself up lazily. Her eyes flickered to the man she was still positioned on, and she smirked at his very drained and lifeless body. ”Guess so.” She already knew the answer. She had drained the last of him seconds before as her enjoyment hit unimaginable heights. ”Awww, too bad. I was ready to go another round,” she said still out of breath.
Just then, Emery heard the house door slam. ”Shit,” she cursed as she rolled off of John Doe. Her feet hit the floor, and she stumbled over towards her closet where she had thrown her black t-shirt. She bent down quickly picking it up and pulling it over her head putting her hands under her hair to get it out from her shirt. She grabbed her black boy shorts panties and slipped those on as well. As she stood up straight her eyes met the dead body that was just lying naked on her bed. How the hell was she going to get rid of that? Maybe she could just stuff it in her closet? No, she’d have to wait until she dealt with Thayer before coming back and taking care of the body. Who knew, he might just burst in, so she’d rather be safe than sorry.
Emery headed towards the door of her luxury size bedroom and jerked it open closing it softly behind her. It wouldn’t be hard to keep him away from her room. He never really went around snooping through her things anyways as far as she knew, so she’d be fine. She took in a breath and let it out slowly as she headed out into the living room where she assumed he’d be. Man she wasn’t sure if she could ever get used to this house. She had killed the man that inhabited it months ago, and she was honestly was surprised the cops hadn’t started doing their own bit of snooping. But she did go to the man’s office and seduce them into believing that he had gone on a very long and exciting sabbatical. Maybe that had something to do with it. Where had Thayer been all day anyway? Not that she had any say in how he lived his days when he decided to be away from the mansion. Not that she would want to anyway. Anything that wasn’t Trinity Brother and Hart Enterprises related, she didn’t give a fuck about….well unless she had to pretend to care for the sake of not blowing her motives completely. ”Thayer?” Emery called heading down the hallway. Boy she hoped it was him because she really didn’t feel like beating the crap out of someone in her underwear.
Emery stopped at the opening of the hallway where she saw Thayer sitting on the leather sofa balling his eyes out into his hands. Oh this was just great. Another sobfest. Was this ever going to end? His life was seriously like a soap opera, commercials not included. She moved towards him, and when she reached him she stopped and put her hands on her hips staring down at him. ”What’s going on?” she asked trying to put concern into her voice.

Thayer sobbed like a little baby, why wouldn’t he? He was useless like Ariel told him, a nothing a little bastard child who had nothing to do with Enterprises. Why did he even go there to begin with, what made him think Ariel was going to hand him over the company she worked alongside his mother for so long? But she put him in his place, told him what she thought and he agreed, he was no good at anything at all. He was just trying to claim something from his mother just to feel close to her for a change, now that he finally knew who he was. But why did she have to be so blunt and honest with him, guess that was Ariel’s way of tough love? He wasn’t sure what he wanted now, what to do with his life, all he knew, Hart Enterprises may not be the future for him or well, fulfilling his mother’s wishes. Even in death, he let her down again.
He suddenly felt a presence behind him, it was Emery, she was behind him, with nothing more than a black shirt on, in her underwear, seemingly he must have waken her up or something. Someone else he probably pissed off for the day, oh great, he was on a roll it seemed. Thayer looked up at her, watery eyes and all, as he stared at her before speaking. “I’m sorry if I startled you or woke you up, I…I just really had a bad day today” Thayer said as he sighed and looked down again, with his head bowed down, tears still running down his cheeks, after having one of those days, you wished weren’t real at all. “I went to see her today. I went to ask her but she just laughed at me, made a fool out of me and she was right, I was worthless” he said as he kept his head bowed down and was just this emotional wreck of a kid.
Thayer then looked at Emery slightly, raisin her head. “Ariel, I went to see her, I wanted to do right by my mother” he said, kind of crying, having difficulty saying the words to her and getting his facts straight. “But she said I was worthless” and Thayer looked back down, as another tear rolled down his cheek. “And she’s right, I couldn’t get anything right, I’m sure you’re disappointed in me too” which could be true, he was such an idiot at times, all this teachings and all he could do was not kill one guy, all the other times, Emery saved his ass from killing someone, she had to be disappointed in being his teacher and him failing so many times. Which was Ariel called him, a failure, he hated being called that but most times, that’s what he was, a failure, he could never be this super confident executive at Hart Enterprises, maybe they were better off without him. Maybe with him in control the company would probably go down and he could add that to his list of failures.

Emery moved around the couch and squeezed passed Thayer who was still sitting with his face in his palms. She plopped down on the end of the couch lifting up her legs and resting them on his thighs. She crossed her arms over her chest and watched him continue to cry. Even though Thayer was a huge ball of annoying, Emery was still becoming accustomed to his whiney ass. And even though she had to be very careful about hiding her hobbies from him, her plans involved him so she would have to deal with it. It was strange though having someone be home when Emery got home. Someone who she’d take turns cooking with. Someone who was actually there when she woke up and went to bed at night. Someone she talked to every single day. The last person that was in that position with her was Caleb. It was actually nice to be close to someone like that again. But Emery had to stay focused. To stop thinking such things. Thayer was a toy to her nothing more.
When Thayer apologized, Emery had the urge to immediately roll her eyes. So what if she may have been sleeping. So often she wanted to grab him by the shoulders and scream at him to BE A MAN! But of course, she had to do it by way of tiptoeing around the subject just to keep him on her side with things. The last thing she would want was the person that was supposed to be her savior in the end to break away from Emery because he thought she was just like everyone else he had known. So, Emery sighed and just smirked knowing that Thayer really had no idea at all what Emery had been doing when he first walked into the house. ”You definitely did not wake me up, promise. I couldn’t sleep.” It was the truth. She couldn’t sleep….probably because she had been deprived of manipulating, torturing, and killing lately….of course except for John Doe lying in her bed at the moment.
Oh dear, Emery knew this was coming, his explanation of this horrible day he had brought up. But Emery really had no idea who he was talking about when he said that he had gone to see ‘her’. He obviously knew that Emery was lost because he continued by saying her name. It was Ariel. Of course it was Ariel. He had gone to see Ariel when Emery told him to wait it out. She knew he was clearly not prepared to see her just yet. His training was paying off but not when you waste it by going in and ASKING her if she can give up Hart Enterprises. Fuck yeah she was disappointed in him, but she needed to control that because seriously he didn’t need someone else making him feel like a little bitch. Emery slid her legs off of him and pulled them up to her chest keeping her arms crossed in front of her. ”Thayer, do you see at all what is wrong with that scene you just played in my head?” Emery didn’t wait for him to answer. ”Okay, say that I just bought a nice babe blue Ferrari for myself that I earned justly. I just took my baby for a ride, and now I parked and am getting out of my beautiful sports car, and some punk comes up to me and asks me if HE can have MY new car. Are you getting where this is not going to happen here?” Emery sat up crossing her legs indian style and resting her hands in her lap. ”No way is she just going to give you Hart because you asked her nicely. If you want anything from her, you have to take it from her. She’s a manipulative bitch, Thayer, who only wants to see your bug juice squirt when she steps all over you.” But as these words left her mouth, Emery couldn’t help but feel the emotions start to wash over her as some of this situation reminded her so much of her past. She began to raise her voice without even meaning to. ”You are nothing to her. You are just an obstacle, a toy for her to play with and laugh at because you aren’t strong enough to hurt her like she deserves. You walk into that firm, and you don’t fuckin’ ASK her if you can have it. You TAKE it from her when she least expects it. And then, when you are staring down at her confused and frustrated look….you squash her like the low life that she is.” That same confused and frustrated look flashed through her mind as she remembered staring down at her mother’s boyfriend, the man that emotionally and physically assaulted her for more than half of her life, before beating him over and over and over again with the fire poker from his very expensive house.
Emery could tell that she had completely gone overboard with her emotions yet again. These outbursts were going to cost her life. And it was all because of that damn bitch vampire, Diana. Emery tried to calm herself as she glanced back over at Thayer. ”You do this, and you will never feel like the victim again. I promise.” Even behind all of her bad ass demeanor and her emotionless façade, this was a lie that she was still trying to get herself to believe. Emery and Thayer weren’t all that different really.
