Currently we just make threads in light of individual character plots. Just wondering how people would feel about a different concept; theme based chapters.
This is exactly like the "Without Love" and ball theme based threads we have had/are doing, except it would be on a permanent basis. So for every chapter in the season, or most, would revolve around a particular theme. They wouldn't be as extreme as these, but they would involve some global plotting thing which effects many people.
In most tv series, although there is many different ongoing plots in an episode, there is one central theme which affects the majority of characters.
So this would involve the administrators posting a weekly chapter synopsis, and then you would create threads based around this. The only problem with such a thing is, that you could only make threads in tune with this episode, and would have to wait for other posts to finish before the next chapter synopsis is posted. Hence why I've thought about this, and to solve this problem, every week/two weeks a new chapter synopsis will be posted, so that the roleplay could move on without waiting for characters to post and such. This would also allow less confusion about the chapters and where each thread fits in, as everything would flow.
Now this idea isn't meant to be restrictive by any means; for instance, a synopsis about a killer at the high school has nothing to do with most of the vampires, so they wouldn't be restricted to posting about that if it doesn't affect them. The characters who are affected by this don't need to also be restricted into dedicating their whole thread around the idea; they just need to be aware of it.
For example, if the staff posted a chapter synopsis about Everette messing up a spell, it may not directly affect Axel, but he may still mention it in a post with Eli, or tie it in to a post with Eli. This may have nothing to do with Trenton, so he wouldn't need to bother about it at all.
I know its a lot to take in, just wondering on your thoughts?
