Thayer had his little talk with Emery, she was right, he needed to take control of his life and be a bit more forward with everything he’s been learning and maybe take over Hart Enterprises and he was going to be civil about it all, last time he tried walking into Hart Enterprises it didn’t turn out that well, he was put in his place and had to catch Axel Evans, he wasn’t going to cause any trouble, though that’s what Emery would have wanted him to do, though he did question her tactics at times, she was the one helping him and if it wasn’t for her he wouldn’t be right here now waiting to talk to Ariel. The woman at the receptionists’ desk was nice enough to tell him wait while she contacted Ariel about him being here.
He waited in the lobby, it was very worrying, he didn’t know what Ariel was going to say, him wanting to take over, being Selena’s son, she certainly wasn’t going to be happy but he still wondered what he was even doing here, he couldn’t run a whole company on his own, maybe she would want to help him. Maybe she would ask to help, she can, he wouldn’t care, he would need all the help he could get. He wasn’t the eager, impulsive kid he was when he came here last, he was a bit more grown and learned a whole lot from Emery. But there it was, the receptionist told him that Ariel was ready for him. So he got up and made his way towards the elevator. His heart was pounding he was so nervous but Emery told him he could do it, If she believed in him must mean he could.
He stood in the elevator, it seemed like it was taking forever, like going each floor was another heart aching moment. Then there he was, at the top floor. The elevator door opened as he walked across the hall, towards the only door at the end of the hall. He walked towards the door and then knocked on the door slightly before opening it. “Excuse me, Miss Dawson? It’s me Thayer” he said kindly as he entered the room, completely nervous but hoped she didn’t catch on on that.

What did this idiot want now?
Business meetings, hirings and firings, conspiracy voerups and payrise negotiations...She honestly had her work cut out for her today. And yet Ernest McMillan still decided to press his luck by barging into her office unannounced and demand that she change her mind about her decision to lay him off. She wasn't going to do that, and she told him that if he decided to take this so personally, that she would organise for him to be escorted out of the building by her most experienced security. As she went on to tell Ernest, being alive is not a requirement of escorting him out of the building.
Then she got a call from her secretary that the kid Thayer had arrived and wished to speak with her. She sighed softly, hanging up the phone after granting the receptionist her approval. What did this idiot want now? He had failed her so many times in the past, did he just decide he would come back for a third time and hope that it would be a charm, or something? She knew it wasn't, because she had a pretty fair idea about who Thayer was. And who he was, was someone who was unable to get the job done; no matter what that job happened to be. She deemed him so ignorant of the world around him, she was almost angry at the nerve of Thayer for just showing up here without an appointment for some unknown reasons. What agenda did he have this time? Did he want something from her? She wouldn't trust this boy as far as she could throw him out of her window; but glass repair prices have influctuated recently, so even that wasn't worth it.
As he knocked and soon entered not long after, she looked up. "Hmm." She paused for a moment, examining her paperwork again before leaning back in her chair, glancing over at Thayer with no expression shown on her face. "Please cut the bullshit 'kiss my ass' talk before I pull out a rifle and blow off your balls; if you even have any, because you haven't proven so this far." She snickered softly, continuing to watch the other man. "In case you were too ignorant to understand, today is an extremely busy day here at Hart Enterprises, so I would appreciate if you stated your reasoning for being here quickly, or just forgot about it altogether and took that elevator back downstairs. Option B is preferred." She smiled fakely towards Thayer. As if he would take option B.

Once he walked in, Ariel wasn’t the most welcoming person, she quickly attacked him and questioned why he was here and reminded him what a disappointment he was, something he already knew, he never wanted to be part of this but Emery convinced him he could do this and well, here he was. She was just letting him have it, attack after attack, Thayer just stood there taking all the remarks and as he tried not to look scared or anything, but he had to admit, Ariel being like this was really scaring him, he should just leave like she suggested and get out of her hair, it’s what she wanted and maybe it was for the best, but he promised Emery he was going to do this, that he was going to get it done and be the new President of Hart Enterprises, like his mother wanted.
When Ariel finished attacked him, Thayer stood there nervously with his hands dug in his pocket as he played with the letter Selena sent him, his head was bowed down a bit, after taking the lashing of words from Ariel. He slowly tried pulling the letter out of his pocket, as he bit his lip nervously and raised his head to look at Ariel, who clearly wasn’t happy to see Thayer here, which he understand, she was probably busy with other business stuff. “I’m here to talk about something, I mean Selena left me this” Thayer continued digging in his pocket trying to get the letter out of it but his has was shaking so much because he was nervous. “I guess you knew she was my mother right?” He said as he finally managed to get the letter out of the pocket but then dropped it on the floor.
He quickly kneeled down nervously and then picked it up in record time to give Ariel a slight nervous smile. As he extended his hand to hand the letter over the Ariel so she could see it as he, tried to speak, but he was s nervous making sentences seemed like such a hard task. “So…uhm,…I…I…wanted to ask if I could take control of Hart Enterprises like she wanted me to?” he said hesitant but still clearly nervous. “Well that’s if it’s okay with you” Well, what a great leader he was turning out to be, here he was, asking for control, what was he doing really, he dug his hands back in his pocket, biting his lip nervously as he looked on at Ariel.

And he chose the option she was hoping to avoid; option a. What that meant was that Thayer would be remaining in her office and keeping her from doing anything important. She really did hope this conversation would be quick. She could always push the button which would activate a knife to fly across the top of the chair, chopping Thayer's head off once he sits down, but she just had her carpets steamed; and she wasn't bitching about budget costs, but she didn't particularily wish to remain busy in a room full of the idiot's blood. It would only make this afternoon even more unpleasant; however the unpleasantries were all on hand right now with her 'guest' in her office.
Thayer soon begun talking, and she half-zoned out, until he begun pulling out what looked like some kind of letter, though he inevitably stumbled, ending up revealing its contents because actually giving her the letter to read like a professional would just be too much to ask. She raised an eyebrow at his nervous actions. This kid really did have a lot to learn. She picked up her mug of coffee, taking a short sip, before halting as Thayer spoke of his mother. She slowly put down the mug, glancing carefully towards Thayer. How could he have found this out? Did Selena give him that letter? She couldn't of, why would she want to, she hated that kid. But then, Selena was playing a very mysterious game, so she really couldn't put anything past Selena. She was now becoming slightly aggitated, having a feeling where this conversation was leading. He wanted to know about the background of this story; how this was possible. Was she going to tell him? No. Was she going to tell him if he became her little delivery boy again? Yes, if he can actually be successful this time.
"I knew," she responded softly, taking another sip from her mug as she continued to carefully examine the boy. She put the mug back down, still glancing towards Thayer as she begun speaking again. "Didn't ever become curious as to why this business would require the assistance of someone like you? It wasn't because of your underqualified abilities Thayer, it was because she wanted it to be you. I tried talking her towards someone of more...Reasonability, but she was persistant on you." She chuckled softly. "I must say, its rather entertaining when you actually think about it. You did all those dirty errands for us in the hopes of finding your parents, when the answers were right in front of you. Irony can be a bitch." A smirk surfaced on her face as she continued looking over at Thayer. She really didn't know what else he expected to hear from her right now.
She was caught off guard at Thayer's request. That, she wasn't expecting. At least not this soon. Hmm. She begun to grin softly, leaning foward in her chair. "Oh, I would be honoured to give it to you, after all; you do deserve this posistion more than me, because, well you know, I've only been working here so many years with unquantifiable amounts of experience and expertise, whereas you are just from the street. When do you wish to start?" She chuckled softly, sitting back in her chair as she watched the rather dillusioned boy. She really was worrying about his sanity right now. "Clearly you and I both knew different Selena's. And if you think I am just going to give up my posistion of control to you...You are extremely misguided. You are being serious, yes?" The grin remained on her face. She really didn't know what else to say to this young man.

Thayer could tell, Ariel didn’t want anything to do with him, she seemed uninterested, hearing half of what he had to say. She was just drinking what seems to be her coffee, giving the nervous wreck of a kid, slight glances, not really caring. All of this made Thayer nervous, all of this just added to him already being nervous about being here. She wasn’t making it easy for him, she was just doing her job like Thayer wasn’t even standing there, like he wasn’t even saying anything. Thayer felt like he was being an annoyance, like he was bothering her, maybe she was. But when Thayer mentioned Selena, about her being his mother, she told him she knew, all this time, she knew about it and she never said anything, but Thayer could tell he was about to get a lash of words, because Ariel suddenly got serious, she was about to let him have it as she took a sip out of her mug and started talking, and oh boy did she.
But she was right, it was odd they suddenly had an interest in him; it was odd they approached him. But Selena was persistent about them hiring him and obviously Ariel didn’t want it to be Thayer. But she was right, it was ironic, it was odd, it was just dirty of them all to keep it from him, knowing what he wanted most and exploiting him like that, while they all knew Selena was his mother, it was such an evil thing to do, but of course they did it, they were both as bad as each other but was Thayer bad enough. Did he have what it takes to be as bad? ”You guys knew? You all just used me like that?” Thayer said softly, maybe he wasn’t cut out for this, maybe he shouldn’t have come here and look stupid in front of Ariel. “But why? Why couldn’t you all just tell me? You were all just using me weren’t you?” He said to Ariel, a bit saddened, he obviously didn’t have the guts Ariel did to be strong and independent, well not yet at least.
But her sarcastic tone was obvious; she wasn’t going to hand down the company to him, she wasn’t going to be all “here Thayer, there you go”, she was just making a mockery out of him, thinking he wasn’t serious, but she was right, he didn’t know the Selena she did, hell, he didn’t know Selena at all, he never got the chance to have a moment with her, be her son but now she left him this and wanted to make the best of what he got. “I am serious” Thayer said gently, bowing his head a bit. He then looked up and looked at her, nervously looking at her. “You can help me? I know I’m not good, I’m not like you but I can try the best I can, if you gave me chance” here he was, practically begging for something that was rightfully his, how pathetic can you get. How low can you go really? Thayer was cracking his knuckles nervously, looking at Ariel with slight concern and worry in his eyes. Like he wasn’t groveling enough, he gingerly said one word. “Please?” He was really pathetic at this point, begging, like a child, how could he, it was sad, it was stupid, he was stupid for thinking she would handed over to him and stupid for believing he could do this.

She sighed at Thayer's remark, he was so ignorant it was even baffling her. "Thayer, you've been used more times than what the local hooker downtown has been your entire life, I don't see what kind of point you are trying to make here. Are you accusing me of victimizing you? That would be unfortunate Thayer, because I have done nothing but lift you out of the gutter. Sure, you might still be in the gutter, or the sewers, really don't give too much of a crap to keep up anymore, but you still being in the gutter is because you put yourself there. I gave you a purpose; a mission and an identity. What did you do? Screw it all up, again might I add." She took another sip of her coffee, then glanced back towards Thayer, continuing her firm eye contact. This guy was about to get a hard lesson in facts, hopefully that would wash that idiot's head clean of whatever slime he is chewing in the sewers.
She feigned an expression of sympathy towards Thayer. "Awe? Yes, we were using you Thayer, Selena may have had other purposes in mind, but I used you for the kicks. And because our last missionary got killed in the process, so the gutter kid had to suffice. Oh, and I did notice how you haven't gotten a new wardrobe since our last encounter...How unfortunate at how things haven't changed." She smiled softly, continuing to look on at the man before her. "And what if we did tell you?" She went on, "Did you expect that you could have that happy family you so desperately craved, maybe even deserved? Well in this city, you don't get nothing you deserve, Thayer. You deserve to be lying in a pool of your own piss in those gutters because you are nothing more than a worthless little boy trying to 'man up' in this world."
He begun almost begging her; she didn't think the patheticness could get any worse, but it had. She got up from her chair, walking around to where Thayer was and she smirked softly. "Hmm. I am having a slight flashback to when you said similar things when we sent you on a mission of taking the brothers. Your not exactly a man of your word, now are you Thayer? Even if you were, I have no use for you in these walls, and never will. A gutter kid always remains a gutter kid, Thayer. The sooner you realize this, the sooner you might obtain some rationality. Now, if you would excuse yourself, I have some important matters to attend to, which I'm already late for. Thanks, for that."

Ariel was firm, she kept her eye on him and Thayer was left there, like a sad little puppy and he was being attacked left and right, after word and word Ariel was lashing horrible words at him. “But I never meant to mess up, You can help me” Thayer said filled with emotions, saddened completely sad to all Ariel was telling him. His eyes were becoming watery and glassy after what Ariel was telling him. They were using him and she enjoyed it, she liked playing him like a sock puppet. She called him a gutter child, she was not being kind to him at all, Thayer just bowed his head down and took all the lashing like a little bitch. He was just taking it, what could he say really? She was right, he was useless, he was a spineless little bastard child, what else can he do really?
Even his begging was frowned upon by she pretty much made it clear he wasn’t going to live up to anything, he wasn’t going to become anything in life nothing but a failure, which he was, he failed so many times in getting those brothers, she was probably right. By this time, Thayer had tears rolling down his cheeks and Ariel wanted him gone. He just sighed as he looked up at her, tears rolling down his eyes. “All I wanted was to make my mother proud, but guess I’ll never live up to anything, you’re right I guess.” Thayer said as he wiped the tears from his face. He was a wreck, a broken child all over again.
He turned around and headed towards the door, what else could he tell her really? She was right. All this training with Emery was for nothing, all the practicing was nothing but worse of all, he failed his mother, even after she was dead, he managed to fail her as a child, how disappointed is he. He just turned his head looked at her, in complete tears and just said one thing to Ariel. “I’m sorry I bothered you Ms. Dawson” he said as he walked out her door, with his head bowed down and nothing more to tell her, what could he tell her really. It was over and done with, he was a failure and wasn’t going to live up to anything, guess now all he could do is head to Emery and tell her he’s done with his training.
