Mari walked the antiseptic halls of the psychiatric ward with cautious steps. It wasn't that she was afraid so much as she was bracing herself for what she might pick up in a place like this. The sound of her flats echoing gave her a creepy feeling. This place was so drab. They were so afraid that people would harm themselves that they had only posters with goop on the back. She was just appalled that a place that was supposed to make people better could be so emotionally empty. Still, she'd been sent here on a mission and even if it didn't get very far it was worth it. Her blue dress swayed gently as she was escorted to a seat and told to wait a few moments. Gotta love when daddy's money opens doors, at least it was doing some good. Folding her hands in front of her, her dress allowed Michael's mark to show blue against her right shoulder. She waited while they brought Cassie in and sighed at the drab surroundings. Some of the orderlies here legitimately cared for their patients but the nature of the work burnt people out before their time. She'd seen it in the therapists she herself had seen. That worn look of never feeling like you ever helped the other person. The knowledge that there was always another broken mind needing to be salvaged and that you never got paid enough to do the work you wanted to. Add to the fact that there just wasn't enough time in the day to see all the patients the way you wanted to and it was no wonder many therapists retired after a few years in the machine of general care medicine for the mentally ill. She brushed her hair over her shoulder, it was done in a very Grecian style and a few loose curls tickled her neck where Trent's mark resided. When Cassie entered she smiled at her softly.

Cassie sat on her bed, legs crossed as she stared at her room, she looked around in her room, it was all white, bright by the whiteness yet filled with depression, she just sat there, staring at the white wall, staring at nothing else but the white was in front of her. In the background she heard the noise of a slightly opened faucet as drops of water slowly could be heard dripping one for one, every five seconds you could hear a drop of water falls, slowly growing annoying, slowly getting on her slight nerve. She turned her head, and looked at the sink, staring at the faucet as she looked at the drop of water falling in the sink, making a slight annoying sound in the silence of her room. She glared at the faucet, continue watching it, continue concentrating on it as suddenly the faucet was slowly turning, slowly tightening, slowly she could feel it was getting harder to close shut, slowly forcing it shut, the drops of water stopped but she couldn’t help herself, she couldn’t control herself and then a slight click could be heard and the top of the faucet clanged and fell into the sink, making a slight noise, she broke the knob you needed to open the sink, looked like that is going to have to get fixed. She just smiled at it as she turned her attention back to the wall.
Suddenly her door was opened and those men, the facility workers she hated so dearly came to get her, was that guy coming for her again, was he here to get her out, she didn’t know what to make of yet another visit. She got up and headed towards the worker, well one of the two workers, they never came alone to her since her little outbreak. She then looked at him, looked at the sink and the back at him and smiled and walked out the door towards the other worker and she could hear the one who was in her room complaining about the broken sink. She smiled as the other worker escorted her down the hall, where she could finally hear something, her room was always so quiet but when you got in the hall, you could truly hear all the noises and everyone who was insane screaming and begging to get out or are saying aliens are trying to get them. Cassie just walked down the hall, her head bowed down and her hear covering most of her face, she was dressed like everyone else in a white robe. Looking like every other patient in this place.
They finally made their way in the visitors’ hall, where she could see other patients visited by friends or family, something she didn’t have much of here in LA. She looked around the room, it wasn’t Shane, he wasn’t here, he probably left her too, just like Darryl did, she didn’t see Darryl, she didn’t see Shannelle, when they finally got to the table she was supposed to sit at, she saw this dark haired woman sitting here awaiting her, she even gave her slight smile, but Cassie didn’t smile back, she didn’t even bother greeting her, all she did was just look at her, with an expressionless face, much like how she saw everyone else. She sat down, and kept her head bowed, staring at the woman through her strands of hair, questioning her motives for being her but yet not greeting her or telling her anything at all. Cassie laid both her hands on her lap as she looked at the mysterious woman.

Mari watched as the young woman sat down in front of her, it was clear she was under tremendous stress and was just going through the motions of moving and breathing. Even her personal hygiene had taken a back seat for a while. She didn't let this deter her from her purpose, she just kept a soft smile on her face as she folded her hands in front of her, "Hello, Cassie. My name is Marina. I know you don't know me but I was told by a friend you could use some company for a little while."
She took time to study the young woman in detail, looking for signs of neglect or abuse from the staff. While she didn't think that was happening here it never hurt to be aware that it could happen. She'd been told the young woman wouldn't speak in all likelihood so she just contented herself with a one sided conversation. Rodney always did say she talked too much, "Did you know the Olympics are on? I haven't had time to keep track but I just like watching when I have a spare moment or two. I'm always so impressed with how the athletes can do everything. I know I'm not that dexterous. Do you have a sport you like to watch or a favorite athlete?"
Settling in the chair a bit more she brushed her hair out of her eyes and pushed her glasses up on her nose. She wondered what it was besides her obvious loneliness that made Michael say she needed to be here. He was always vague and this case was no exception. She didn't even know what Cassie had done to get herself here or what her hobbies were. "What's your favorite color? Mine is purple." she said as she flexed her toes and sighed softly as she jogged her empathy to try and see if it could perceive anything.

There Cassie was, her head slightly bowed her hair covering her most of her face as this woman introduced herself as Marina, Cassie had no idea who she was or what she was doing here but she said a friend of hers told her she could use some company, was this Shane’s masterplan? She wasn’t sure what friend this woman was talking about but she assumed it was Shane, it should be, who else would it be. Though she wasn’t paying much attention the woman though, no, nobody noticed but she was focusing on Randy, horrible, horrible Randy, he talked about her when he thought she wasn’t listening, she knew he’d say bad things about her, and there he was, digging in the medicine cabinet, arranging them as usual, she never liked him, she hated him, and the more she thought about it, the more her hatred towards him grew and grew inside of her, she just stared at him, focused on him, starred at the cabinet and then there it was suddenly all the medicine fell on the floor as she was suddenly focused on Marina again and she said something about who her favorite athlete was, she knew Marina never noticed her focus was elsewhere, so she giggled as the sound of all the medicine falling startled everyone including Marina in the room.
The woman brushed her hair from her face as the woman wanted to know what her favorite color was, it was the same color she always liked since her first week working at golden cuisine, which was the colors of Darryl’s eyes, the one eyes she dreamed of all the time. She could remember them when he saw her, when he said she was lovely, why was this woman reminding her of him, why did she have to bring him up, why did she want to know this, why did she do this and why did she have to come. Cassie suddenly grabbed her hair in the moment, slowly slightly pulling on her blond hair as she continued passing her fingers through them slightly and then she suddenly stopped and then looked at Marina straight in her eyes. She then slammed both her hands onto the table. Not removing her eyes from Marina’s, not even blinking them as she dug her nails into the table and then slowly dragged her hands down and clawing the table, leaving tracks of her nails behind as she slowly clawed down till the edge of the table and then her hands were off the table and then her hands were just next to her dangling.
She just tilted her head on the side, her hair finally away from the front of her face and more of her face could be seen, she then just continued to stare at Marina in her eyes as she bit her lower lipped and slightly smiled at Marina, like nothing every happened, like everything was okay. She continued to stare at Marina as the light above them slightly wiggled, her doing of course as the smile of her face slowly faded away and the Cassie just stared at Marina with a blank expression on her face again, just like she did when she entered the room, like nothing ever happened for the last 10 minutes or so.

The sound of the medicine cabinet exploding did indeed scare her and made her jump, her eyes shifting to how big a mess it was. There was no logical reason for that to happen. She looked around and tried her best to pick up on if anyone was deliberately doing something. She looked back at Cassie and tilted her head as she looked at her intently. Seeing her drag her nails across the table she winced, "I'm sorry you're hurting. I wish there was something I could do." she said as she looked at her and focused in on her sensing.
"You've got a pretty smile." she said gently as she smiled softly and then watched her face go blank. It was like someone had poured the emotion out of her. The wiggling of the light had her looking back at the blond woman and nodding, "I see you, Cassie." she said with quiet formality as she sat there. The girl was exhibiting Telekinesis. A difficult gift to have. "I'll see what I can do. I'm sorry you're in here." she put her hand on the glass to give her some hope and let her know she wasn't alone.
Inwardly she exhaled, she didn't know what she could do. It wasn't simply a case of letting her out. The girl had emotional damage. Mari could feel it and wished she could help but there was a limit on what she could do. She prayed inwardly for this woman. If there was anyone who needed divine intervention it was this woman. "You should do something about her nails. She needs to be cared for. She's a human being and deserves to be treated better." she said gently as she regarded the interns that stood on either side of the room. She was not going to tolerate Cassie being mistreated.

After the medicine Chaos, Marina looked at her, and told her she’s sorry Cassie was hurting, but Cassie never felt hurt, she felt lied to, she felt broken, she felt abandoned but hurt wasn’t a word she could say she felt now, she just felt like getting Darryl, getting him closer to her, making him like her, she’d sit in her room and think about it all day, make it happen but it never did, many things happened while she was in her room but Darryl coming for her was not one of them. After she put on her smile, Marina told her she had a pretty smile, Darryl said the same thing to her, or he think she did, why would he not come to visit her, why would he lie to her about the date? Cassie hated that and wanted answers but he never came, he never worried he never cared. Cassie just continued to look at this mysterious woman who came to visit her with a blank expression on her face.
After Cassie’s little light trick she loved playing on her visitors, something she developed in her lonely days in her room focusing only on what surrounded her. The woman told Cassie that she saw her, what she meant with that. Cassie just continued her stare, how could she see Cassie, she didn’t know all that was going through Cassie’s mind it was all focus, it was all concentration, in a way this place helped Cassie a bit, she certainly wasn’t sorry to be here, it was on the second night, she could remember just focusing, and focusing on the door handle the entire night and then suddenly she could hear the click of the door unlocking and since she’s been able to move things, do thing most people dreamed of doing. So she was thankful but hated it all together, because she couldn’t control Darryl, make him do as she pleased. But after she said that, Cassie just smiled freakishly.
Then raised her hand and moved her hair out of her face, placing it behind her ear and just looked at her. Marina made a remark to the workers that they should do something about Cassie’s nails and that she should be treated better. This put a smile on Cassie’s face, as Cassie looked on now, with a smile on her face, if only Marina knew the truth. Cassie was making everyone’s lives hell in this little ward, many people never told Cassie anything, she kept her lights on after ten because she would play with the switches, she would look at whatever she wanted whenever because she’d play with the controls, Cassie was always up to no good here but never said a word, though they never said anything to her either. But then out of pure instinct Cassie just slammed both her hands on the table and just stared at Marina, dead in her eyes, and her smile, was completely gone again.

Lifting her head up she tilted it to the side as she picked up on Cassie's obsession. She put her hand up to the glass and tried to see if she could get an image of who the obsession was about. Her eyes closed slightly as she focused and then they opened, dark and penetrating as she looked into Cassie's heart. That freakish smile teased at her senses and she shuddered inwardly as she tried to focus deeper. Suddenly she pulled back and backed up. Her eyes blinking at the hand slams on the table.
Moving back from the glass she felt completely unnerved by the flipping of Cassie's mind from obsession to blankness. The hand slapping seeming to be a key even if its not a set pattern. She exhaled as she stared at the blond gifted girl and shook her head, her curls teasing her cheeks as she tried to figure out what she could do to get more information on the young woman here. It looked as if it would be a long term situation and she nodded her head quietly almost to herself as she acknowledged the other woman. She rose from her seat and stretched lightly, her blue dress swaying as she stood there, "I have to go now, Cassie. I'll be back when I can. Is there anything you need?"

Cassie could tell she was getting to Marina, like she does everyone, it was a normal thing, she would do something and people would look at her like she was insane, though she had to give Marina credit she has been the most subtle about it all not showing her fear or how Cassie made her feel. Cassie just stood there, staring, looking at Marina, who got up and wanted to leave and asked Cassie if there was anything she wanted. She said she was going to be back, just like Shane said he was going to get her out of here, but he never did, it’s been two days, she’s still here, he was like Darryl, he didn’t mean what he said, did Marina mean what she said that she was coming back. All this went through Cassie’s mind as she slowly stood up to her feet, still staring at Marina in her eyes.
This put a smile on Cassie’s face as she suddenly started screaming and slamming her hands on the table continuously making a ruckus in the room, screaming and yelling while the pounding noise of her hands slamming onto the table echoed through the room as two facility workers quickly grabbed her by the arms and quickly tried to carry her to the back. Cassie screamed and screams and was dragged out the door.Once Cassie was out of the door, the room was basically empty and only Marina was left there and suddenly the door from down the hall where Cassie was dragged into suddenly slammed shut, once again Cassie’s doing and the creaming, was suddenly silent, nothing more could be heard, Cassie’s screaming was no longer heard by anyone.
