April breathed out, as she walked into the office building where Reginald worked at. She was always pretty straight-forward when she got her pay-check, so she wasn't going to be facing any surprises. Today was a day where she had pretty much planned everything out. Partly to just avoid Zach as well. Since she met him at the club, a club she felt she was getting pretty much glued on to, she had been trying to work even more on the odd hours, not looking to reconcile or whatever. She had pretended to be nice, though, for his sake and because she was too tired of always arguing with people.
When she was at the front desk, she looked at the woman behind it and lazily leant against it, stopping the constant clicking of her heels for just a moment. "I'm here for mister Sinclaire." She said, deciding on the polite way of doing things. She saw the woman look her over and April rolled her eyes, annoyed. "Name is April Cartel, I'm sure he is already expecting me." She said, to the woman, who didn't seem to make haste to tell Reginald she was here at all. "If you could send me through today, that would be very appreciated." She said, as she tapped her foot impatiently on the floor, hesitating if she should just run up to his office and walk right in or not.

Reginald could sense that April had come to speak with him. He turned from the window and opened the door to the office, "April, come in. Its good to see you. Don't worry, Alice. I'm expecting her." He wasn't but it helped her cover and it shut Alice up. She was a stand in anyway and if she didn't get her work done by 3 he was going to probably make a meal of her to keep from having to deal with her.
He stepped back so she could enter the room and closed the door behind her, "So, to what do I owe this visit, my dear. You are looking lovely as always." he gestured to a seat and then went to a cabinet that held drinks, pouring some brandy he offered her a glass before he poured his own, "You are looking well. How has life been treating you, my dear?" he asked her in his smokey tone. His voice holding an edge of sensuality to it as he stood there and sipped his drink a moment before passing her her paycheck. "For a job well done my dear. I will be going to a gala in about 2 weeks would you do me the honor of accompanying me?" he asked her with a slow smile that promised a great deal if she said yes.

”Good, this girl is getting on my nerves anyway.” April said, as she glared at the receptionist, whose name was obviously Alice. Sadly there wasn’t a rabbit hole anywhere, that she could push her through. The girl just glared back, making her face change in a sweet smile. ”I’m sure you’ll do your job fine, have a nice day.” She said, before walking up to Reginald. ”You’re not overly busy right now, are you?”
When she was in the room, she turned around to face him, as she smiled at his compliment. She felt happy. Happy for one reason because of how she and that Shane guy had talked and flirted and two, it was just a good day, how cheesy that may sound. ”Well, for one, it’s the end of the month and two, I just thought I’d stop by.” Meanwhile avoiding her baby brother. She took the glass and smiled again, as a slight shiver went through her, at the tone in his voice. He had that effect on her. ”Always charming.” She said, slightly teasingly. She took the paycheck thankfully and listened to what he said. ”I will.”

"I'm never too busy for you, my dear." he closed the door on the temp secretary, "Please...she's just like every impulsive little bitch that thinks that because she knows someone here it gives her the right to throw her weight around and make a play for me. My daughter would probably shank her if I tried to bring THAT one home." his tone was evil and snide as his eyes seemed to glow for a moment at the thought of what would happen to Alice, "Have no worries my dear. Girls like that ALWAYS end up either dead or too old and saggy to bother with in ten years time."
"Well you always are a bright spot in my day but then who am I to say no to a girl whose named after my birth month?" he lifted her free hand and kissed it as he looked into her eyes and smiled at her with that way that said he could be coaxed into a lot. "Care to give me an excuse to blow off work for something more exciting? After all killing my temp secretary is tempting but completely impractical."
"You have made me very happy to hear you say that, April. Tell me, how is life treating you these days, lovey? Do you need anything? I find I can always pencil you in should you need it. Especially given that my social calendar has freed up some recently with an associate of mine and I coming to a parting of the ways." he pouted slightly, "Care to brighten my mood?" he winked at her as he gave her a smoldering look and pulled her in close to him, "Maybe we can make Alice realize what she'll never have." he whispered softly as he let the breath of his words tickle her ear lightly.
