It was late afternoon and Shannelle had spent the day at school, being bored out of her wits, for most of it, as her mind wasn’t in it, whatsoever. She just kept thinking about Daryl and what had happened between them. She also kept thinking about Cassie and about how she still hadn’t told her. Well, what’s to tell anyway? She had kissed him because of some spell – she guessed, which meant it wasn’t her that kissed him. Well, it was.. it was just complicated. Complicated enough for her to cancel her shift in the shopping Centre.
She just went straight for the woods, for the biggest reason as that she wanted, no, needed to be alone. She had to think about everything in her life lately and she couldn’t do that, with everyone bugging her. And besides it was really late in the afternoon, as in.. almost night and honestly, she kind of needed the transformation tonight. To just give in to it and wake up, not feeling guilty for it. So, she looked up at the sky and waited for the transformations to take over her body.

Zach needed to be alone. He’d actually been alone for quite a while, but he needed to clear his head and the only way that could happen was to get away from everything just for a few minutes. He was just about done having every single person that he was close to tell him that they had something extremely not okay with them. First Jace, now Jayla. What next? Trenton? Lelia? Axel? Shanelle? The list was endless, and he just didn’t know who he could trust anymore. Who he was safe around. Jace basically blew up his bed. If the Banshee myth, which apparently wasn’t a myth at all, was true, hell, Jayla could blow his head clear off his body if he was close enough to her when she screamed. He just didn’t know what to do anymore. Was he the only human person even in this town? Not even this town, in the world? How could he even know for sure? There were so many secrets, so many lies, so many things that he was being presented with that were just way too hard for him to deal with. The university never used to be a place he felt unsafe. But who knew? Where was even safe anymore? It was late afternoon and almost dark. The only thing Zach would have ever worried about this late in the forest in California was a deer or maybe a bear. If there was a witch and a banshee, he was pretty sure every other thing out there could be real too. Maybe it wasn’t that he was unaccepting of these new revelations but that he was terrified of what could happen. He really wasn’t sure. It was too difficult to pinpoint where his mind was going with all of this craziness.
Just as he was stepping over a large tree that had toppled over, a rustle of leaves echoed through the still air. Zach froze immediately. Yep, just as he suspected. So not safe. Who knew, it could be a freakin’ big eyed hairy green monster with antlers from the shit he’d been hearing about lately.

Collecting her things, Marina slipped off to catch her limo when a familiar form caught her eyes. Worriedly she dug into her pockets and pulled out a spare cross she kept on hand apart from the one she always wore from Trenton. Her shoulders slumped and she felt a wave of guilt hit her. Sighing she decided to take the bull by the horns and see where Trent had gotten off to by asking his roomate, Zach, "Zack!" she called as she walked over to him with her usual limp, "Hey there. Are you okay?" she asked softly as she looked up at him and bit her lip.
"You having a bad week too?" she asked him softly as she looked around and saw the moon rising, her eyes widened, "Would you mind walking me to my limo? I promise I'll take you wherever you want to go I just...don't like the idea of walking alone at night." the truth was she didn't want him out here alone at night but if she said that he'd be upset. She put her hands in her pockets and looked at him quietly trying to gauge his mood.

As the transformation continued, Shannelle let out a howl, that sounded more in agony than it was because of her predatory senses waking up. It was however a slight combination of both and she felt the transformation continue, until she had fully transformed into a wolf. When she had, she opened her eyes and saw it becoming darker. Perfect. Maybe she'd wake up with a dead deer next to her, as part of her didn't expect there to be humans. And tonight was for hunting.
When she heard voices, to her far left, she turned and started running, letting out another howl, to let them know she was coming for them. She felt her senses strengthen and her heart quicken and the exhilarating part was, nothing could stop her right now. Nobody could hold her from her purpose; hunt.
As soon as she saw the two, she felt her mouth water and sat down, on a hill, overlooking them, growling, wondering if they had seen her. It was after all, all the more fun if they ran, if she could hunt them down. Nothing was less fun then a prey waiting to be killed.

With the ruffle of leaves came a familiar voice. Oh great. Did he even have to look her way? Maybe she’d get the hint that he wasn’t in a talking mood if he just kept moving. But nope, she didn’t. She had to make her way over to him and ask him if everything was okay. Fuck no, everything was NOT okay. But Zach definitely wasn’t about to tell this chica his problems. He wasn’t big on telling anyone his problems. It wasn’t their business. Sure as hell not when the person was his roommates girlfriend or whatever they were. He didn’t need her going right back and telling Trenton. If that happened, Trenton would surely have the upper hand and that just couldn’t happen.
Zach rolled his eyes as he turned around to meet her worried gaze. ”Can you seriously just leave me alone. When someone walks out to the woods, it kinda means that they want to be alone.” He was just about to turn back around and start walking forward again, but then she asked him to walk her to her limo. Was she freaking serious? I mean yes, it was probably better to walk a girl to her ride, but Zach was so not in the mood for this. ”Dude, you were heading over that way anyways I’m guessing….without me. Why can’t you just continue doing that?” He snorted. ”Besides, can’t you just call Trent? Any time with you means time away from me.” He was being very unfair right now. He was taking his anger and frustration out on someone that was probably just trying to care for him, but he really didn’t care. He didn’t want to be bothered. He absolutely hated in movies where someone would sulk off and then that person’s friend would run after them because they felt sorry for them. When he walked off, he didn’t want that. He just wanted to be alone.
By this time in the very small conversation that they had, he had heard a howl. Wow, just great. Yep, deer was not the only thing he’d have to worry about. He had totally forgotten about wolves.

'Seriously, is this asshole just dissing me because I ruined his wank off time? Puh-Leeze.' She kept her face neutral and shrugged her shoulders, "Watch out for splinters then, Zach." she said quietly, Okay so maybe he'd completely miss the reference but at least she had to try. She was kind of pissed right now because the only reason she'd even come here was to get him out of here.
"Yeah I guess I can call Trent if that makes you happy but I'd have to know where the fuck he is asshole." Bitch time, "I figured you'd know if I needed to put up missing posters since you're probably scouting out where to dump his body seeing how you hate him so much." she kept her tone light but she kept her senses on high and they were not alone, "Look, Zach I think we really need to go. I am not fucking Snow White and you sure as hell aren't the Huntsman or Abe Lincoln that's for damn sure."
The growling made her step in front of him, "Now that is why I wanted you to get the hell out of here. Take this!" she reached over and grabbed his hand, slipping a silver crucifix in his hand, "And walk out of the woods. Its not safe here." she turned to watch his back. "Go home, Zach. The woods are a dangerous place."

Zach could hear her mumble something about splinters, but he didn’t understand why she had said that. It made no sense what so ever. If someone was going to bicker with him, he’d rather it be someone who knew how to bicker. But she wasn’t finished. Thank god! This could be fun. Instigating was his middle name, and being able to do so would cheer him up quite a bit. ”Oh well if you must know, that is why I’m in the woods. I am looking for someplace to put his body. But the only reason I had to get rid of him in the first place was because I couldn’t stand seeing all that lovey dovey shit between you two.” He made a gagging face. ”If I had to see two people get all gushy with each other, I’d definitely go elsewhere.” With that comment he was kind of curious as to what Marina would say. When he dished it, he wanted to hear something awesome come back at him. And boy did he ever get that. ”Oh wow,” Zach chuckled with a very surprised look on his face. ”I’m sure you’d change your mind about that if you saw me naked.” Zach threw his hands up in surrender. ”Oh but seriously don’t take that as an invitation. I’m not too big on girls who lie. I mean it’s obvious you just keep pretending that you don’t think I’m hot. I mean you did agree to add me on facebook. That is a major clue right there, just sayin’ “
When Marina looked away from him to follow the sound of the howl, Zach dropped his arms and watched her. She seemed to get even more worried than she was when she first walked up. She took his hand and placed a silver cross in it. What the hell was she doing? He stared down at the crucifix. ”Um, thanks, but no thanks.” He said trying to hand it back to her. ”Not really my style. I mean God is great or whatever, but not interested.” She kept telling him that he needed to get out of the woods, and it was really starting to bug him. ”Seriously, go find your own place to take care of your personal issues. I come out here to think. The woods are huge. I’m sure you can find another portion of it to go cry about your Trenton problems.”

"Oh you know you were just jealous of his abs. I mean I know I'd be second fiddle to your bromance, but hey it would just be my own version of Magic Mike. Not like I'd be lacking in ones with you two around." she couldn't help it this guy made her sense of humor come out.
She got close to him, her eyes dark as she stared at him, "Oh yes, you now know my dirty secret. I picture you modeling underwear all day long." she yawned, "Can you at least liven up this fantasy by getting the hell out of here with me?"
"If I was gonna take care of my personal issues it sure as hell wouldn't be in the woods. And crying about Trent isn't something I do generally. But then the whole arraigned marriage thing does have me kinda miffed, but that's a whole nother thing. Now lets get out of here before we become a chew toy for some rabid wolf looking for a leg to hump. Cause I gotta be honest with thighs like those you're far more likely to get jumped than me."

The voices drowned themselves out of her hearing, as she only heard sounds, not what they said. Not how they reacted. But if they would be scared, she would be able to smell their fear, she would be able to smell them, to hear them, to see them.. It intensified all her senses and she let out a hungry growl. She saw the girl step in front of the boy and took a lazy step forwards.
When she saw the crucifex, she took a step back and growled at it. It made her angry, not freaked out. So, she took another step and started a slow pace, of running up to them, her eyes now on the boy. As soon as she was into view, she stood still and growled again. They were so hers.

Oh was Marina sharing her anger with him, and he was enjoying every minute of it no matter how close she was getting. It was keeping him occupied and taking his mind off of things that he really couldn’t handle right now. But just as he was about to come back at her with a wicked comment about his own body compared to Trenton’s, something very large and growling stepped out of the woods and was heading towards them. Zach’s eyes immediately left Marina and was now on the very large beast that looked like a wolf that was on steroids. Zach swallowed hard unable to breathe, unable to speak, and unable to believe what he was seeing. He had no clue if this was the reason why Marina had stepped in front of him, had given him the crucifix, or why she was here in the first place. But he raised the crucifix that she had handed him that he at first tried to give back to her in hopes that it would work against this…thing. Zach immediately realized that that had been a bad move. The beast stepped back but not in fear. It seemed like it was in anger more than anything. Well, that was just great.
It took a matter of three seconds for the creature to come into full view as it plowed towards them. When it finally stopped, it stood still not that far from them growling. Zach was finally able to get a few words out. ”Uh, yeah…so about getting out of the woods,” he nodded, ”kinda okay with that.” Of course this would happen to him. The night he finds out a girl that he was starting to get to know very well was also a freak just like his ex, now he had to deal with raging lunatic animals trying to kill him. Maybe this was Jayla. It wouldn’t surprise him one bit.

"Zach, get out of here now. I've got this but you need to go. Its not safe." Mari said as she noticed the wolf loping towards them. Taking her cruicifix in hand she kept herself at a safe distance, "Yo, she bitch come get some!" she taunted trying to draw Shannelle away from Zach. She just had to get him out of there and she could bolt herself or scream for Trenton. She kept herself as loose as she could so she could move but she made sure to watch where Shanelle went to head her off as soon as possible. She wasn't a fighter but she was not gonna let Zach get hurt. She knew there would be a future for him and she wanted him to survive to have that. "Get Trent. Tell him what's happening he'll know what to do." she called to him as she dried her sweaty palms on her pants and held the crucifix aloft. In nomine Patris, et filii, et spiritus sancti
Pater noster, qui es in caelis, sanctificetur nomen tuum. Adveniat regnum tuum. Fiat voluntas tua, sicut in caelo et in terra. Panem nostrum quotidianum da nobis hodie, et dimitte nobis debita nostra sicut et nos dimittimus debitoribus nostris. Et ne nos inducas in tentationem, sed libera nos a malo. Amen.

Shannelle loved every bit of being animalistic and having the upper hand. It felt like she had the upper hand. And the way Zach stared at her, it made her want to smile. When the girl started talking, she looked at her and growled again. How dare the girl think she had the upper hand? She didn't and she'd feel the consequences of it, too.
When the girl started chanting, it made her only angrier and she attacked the girl's stomach, not biting all the way through, but hopefully enough to scare her off, before her attention went back on Zach, who she lazily stepped forward to, looking at him, before she attacked him, pinning him down to the ground. Then without any hesitation, she bit him, took a bite out of his arm and looked down at him, before howling softly.
