Cassie was sitting on the bench again having an ice-cream, across the LA Police Department building, thinking, going through her thoughts. Zachery was right, she had to stand up for herself, make the move, ask Darryl out on a date, she was in control of her own life, if she wanted to make her and Darryl work, she needed to tell him what she wanted, how she felt. It was the only way, if she didn’t he might just disappear and not care about her anymore. He would just go back to Shannelle. Shannelle, she was lovely Cassie thought to herself; she was really lovely. But what can she do, she was blond, she wasn’t going to school, she was just herself. But maybe Darryl would like that.
Cassie finished her ice-cream as she just stared at the building. Wondering what Darryl was doing now, what was he wearing, who was he talking too. Well soon enough it was going to be her. Cassie got up as she crossed the street and made her way towards the building. She walked up the steps as put her hand onto the door handle. She paused for a bit, took a deep breath as she opened the door and walked into the building. As she got in, as usual, it was full, hectic and talks of mysterious killings, though she never really bothered to pay attention to all of that. She made her way towards the receptionist, as she smiled at the woman.
“Oh,…wow…hello, is Darryl in? I need to talk to him, yes…wow…Lovely”. Cassie smiled at the woman as she picked up her phone, assuming to call Darryl she guessed, the woman turned her back to Cassie and was seemingly whispering to someone one the phone, Cassie never bothered to care why either, she was going to ask Darryl out on a date, that’s all that mattered. The woman turned around back to face Cassie. “He will be right with you, please have a seat and wait” Cassie smiled at the woman as she made her way to the nearest seat, before wondering if this was a bad idea, if she completely making a fool of herself right now.

Daryl just put a few papers on his desk as he kept his phone to his ear and scratched his eyebrow once he heard the answer on the other side of the phone call. 'Look, I get that, but it's not like I would come with this if it wasn't actually a problem, but if you would just get those figures in front of you...' He stopped when once again the person on the other side was being quite annoying and difficult. 'You know what? Fine, we'll do this the hard way, but if there's another victim that has to do with this, and you had me waste time? Then that's on you!' He said slightly pissed of before hanging up in a frustrated manner.
Daryl let his hands run over his face for a moment before letting his head rest again them and closing his eyes for a moment too. It was always very annoying to have to play politics, it wasn't really like him to stay calm and just take all the time in the world to make a decision, but he also wasn't going to handle it as a vigilante or something, ,he didn't really take matters into his own hands, only when it came to low-life demons and he got the chance, but that was completely different than handling a mostly human case.
Just as he picked up the next file he had about it, to check something from that, if there really wasn't anything else he could do but wait, but just at that moment his phone rang and he picked it up quickly. 'Yeah?' He asked calmly because he had already seen that the call came from the front desk and then pulled up his eyebrows as he heard what the woman on the other side told him that there was a visitor for him. Now of course a part of him hoped it was Shannelle, but it was quickly clear enough that that wasn't the case, but it didn't mean that he didn't care anymore just because it wasn't the one he hoped of course, hr looked at Cassie as a friend too so he wasn't going to ignore her or something like that, even if she could be pretty weird, but he was a Werewolf in truth, so it wasn't like he could make a problem out of it.
So he made sure everything was just as he wanted on his desk, before leaving his office and went to the front desk. 'Cassie?' He eventually asked with a calm and friendly but surprised smile for what she was doing here. 'Is something wrong?' He asked, thinking that most of the time, someone didn't come to see you at a police station to make small talk but that something was wrong, even though he had to admit that such rules didn't actually apply much to Cassie so he wasn't sure.

Cassie waited, sitting patiently so that Darryl could make his way out, she was about to be the courageous one, be the one to ask him out on date, that was going to happen today. Then he walked out of his office, he lit up the room as usual, Cassie couldn’t help but smile when she saw him coming his way, there he was, making time for her, she felt special, she felt important, she felt, like Shannelle for the first time in her life. She felt wanted by Darryl, something she’s only been dreaming about. Hey made his way towards her but he had this look, this look of concerned, Cassie didn’t know how to feel, happy, confused, important or well, like Shannelle. But it was all for her, she felt amazing, that was what it was, amazing.
He came concerned as she slowly stood up and smiled at him and responded to him. “Oh…wow…everything is just…lovely…yes…lovely”. She smiled at him as she tried to make him feel less concerned about her. She looked at his receptionist looking at her weird as she looked at his office. “Oh…wow…is that your office? May I talk to you?...in private?”. Cassie looked down now, she wanted to ask him now, but what if he said no, right here, in front of everyone else? She would be embarrassed incredibly. “Please?...oh…wow…it’s important”. Cassie smiled slightly as she looked up as Darryl. Hoping she’d at least get a yes now to speak to him in private.

Daryl wasn't really sure what to expect from this visit from Cassie as he had made his way toward her and then stood there in front of her, waiting for her answer if something was wrong or not. He still couldn't help but keep noticing that there was always something... Different about her than you would expect from most people, something that was just a little weird with lack of a better word, but he wouldn't just let her know that or blow her off, he wasn't like that and he did still see her as somewhat of a friend after all.
Daryl then nodded when she told him that everything was... Well surprisingly it was lovely again, that word that he could have guess would follow soon enough, but at least it made his concern drop that there wasn't something wrong with her to worry about too, so then hopefully it wasn't something that important. 'Okay that's good, so what's going on then?' he asked her calmly with the same kind of smile with a friendly tint on his face. He raised his eyebrows in surprise when she asked him about his office and then if she could talk to him in private, so he actually had to think about it for a few seconds as his eyes went in their corners to look at the receptionist. When she said please and that it was important, he bit his lip but then smiled softly again and nodded. 'Sure, why not? I have a few minutes to spare, and if it's important.' He said with a nod before gesturing her along and then going in front of her to his office where he eventually sat down on his desk chair behind his desk, which a lot of times made him think back to Shannelle, waiting for her to come in and probably close the door.

There it was, he smiled at her, Cassie was in a whole other world when he did that, he must care, he must think she’s lovely, he wouldn’t have given her that lovely smile if he didn’t He was kind enough to ask her to step into his office once she mentioned it was important. He had time for her, he really cared Cassie thought; he really truly cares enough to see her last minute, just as he did with Shannelle, she couldn’t believe it, Zach was right, she just needed to be forward and honest with herself. Get his attention, demand his attendance. Ask what she wanted and it would all work out. He made the gesture that they head into his office as she did, she was excited like a five year old. She was going to be in his office, alone with him, talking to him alone. It has been forever since the two have been in any place alone.
She smiled at him slightly as she walked into his office. He quickly made himself comfortable behind his desk as Cassie wandered a bit, looking around at his office, admiring the sights, admiring that everything in this office was touched by him, used by him, belonged to him. This was all his, and now in his office, she was part of it all. She couldn’t believe it. She looked around and could only give out a slight sentence. “Oh wow…your office…it’s..it’s lovely” she smiled at him innocently. Cassie was not one to be seductive or sexy, she was pure at heart and hoped for romance, from Darryl in any case. She then made her way on the chair at his desk. On the opposing side of him. She sat down and smiled again, still looking around before turning her focus to him.
Fear struck her a bit, she wasn’t sure where or how to start. She looked down for a while before raising her head and catching Darryl’s eyes. “I…I know you are friends with Shannelle and that, you are close to her but, I…I…just wanted to ask you something. Oh…wow..lovely… this is hard for me” Cassie sighed a bit before bowing her head down, looking down as she fiddled with her fingers. “I..I just wanted to ask you something…but I…I…was always afraid too” Cassie said softly with a voice full of worry. She didn’t want Darryl to say no, she didn’t want Darryl to hurt her, she just wanted Darryl for herself, that was all, nothing more. “So…I was wondering…would….would you like to go out for dinner sometime. Oh…wow…I said it…lovely” Cassie raised her head again, looking at Darryl, full of worry, not knowing what he’d say, how he would react. She hoped it was yes, it needed too, he was all she wanted, life without him would seem like it was not worth living.

When Daryl had sat down behind his desk in his chair, he couldn't help but raise his eyebrow a little as he looked at the way Cassie started wandering around and it seemed like taking in everything there was to see, so he just sat there waiting for her to finish with that. When she commented about his office a calm and thankful smile appeared again for a moment and he nodded. 'Thank you, I like to keep it at least a little my own place so I changed a few things.' He said as he shrugged his shoulders because it wasn't really a very important or special something to talk more about, especially because now he actually wanted to know what this was suddenly about.
The moment was clear when Cassie put her focus on him when she had sat down on the opposite side of him and he kept looking at her although quickly when it still took some time, raising his eyebrows in a questioning way, because he didn't have too much time after all before he would have to get back to work. When Cassie eventually did start speaking, he looked a little surprised for a moment when she talked about Shannelle but nodded first. 'You know Shannelle? But take it easy, just take a good breath and tell me what's wrong.' Daryl said trying to calm her down a bit and at the same time trying to prevent the receptionist from coming in and bluntly saying that Daryl didn't have that much time or something, she was totally like that after all.
Still Daryl began to worry a bit about the direction this was going and how he started to wonder if he had been too blind to the way this girl had been acting, because he had just blamed it on her being a little weirder than most people but nothing wrong with that if you could look past it, but now that she was acting so nervous, talking about wanting to have asked him something but always being afraid to, it kind of made him worry that her motives here weren't something that he could answer back in the same way. So not too long after Cassie finally said her question, if he wanted to go out to dinner sometime with her and he couldn't help but put his mouth thoughtfully in front of his face and mouth and bite his lip behind it. How was he going to do this? Not only didn't he really see her in that way, but he didn't really want to bluntly blow her off either, and besides that there were enough reasons why this wasn't a smart idea, so maybe he should tell her carefully... He would have to think about what to do, but then maybe he could make a decision about what to do with this and then do it on the date itself? He lowered his hand and then nodded with a thoughtfully and calm smile. 'Yeah... Well I think I should have the time.' He said trying to be polite and friendly, but not give her more hope than she maybe already had gotten by him saying yes already.

There it was, she complimented his office, and he smiled at her, smiled, she couldn’t believe it. Darryl gave her a smile, he was truly happy to see her, he truly was. She couldn’t believe it her dream was coming true, Darryl was happy to see her. When she spoke of Shannelle, she could see his excitement, again Shannelle, she always ruined it for her, she was always so important, so pretty, so beautiful, Cassie hated her for that, but liked her because she was nice, Cassie wasn’t sure why Darryl liked her so much but maybe because she wasn’t pretty enough, like Shannelle. He was worried when she hesitated to talk, this made Cassie feel special again, Shannelle slowly became an afterthought, he was worried about her well being, he was worried about her, not Shannelle but her. That is all that mattered now. “Yes, I know here, she’s like….my friend” Cassie smiled slightly as she looked around the room, admiring all Darryl’s accomplishments, personal things of importance and the decoration of the office, it so like Darryl. She was just excited for once he was worried about her well being, he showed concerned, he seemed like he cared about her, Cassie loved it, loved feeling more special than Shannelle.
Cassie was relieved she could finally tell Darryl what to say, after she blurted it all out, she looked at him, she worried he would say no, she worried he would laugh at her. She was about to lose her mind if he didn’t answer her. But then he smiled, Cassie loved his smile, it made her feel special when he smiled at her. She just smiled back at him as he said he might have the time to go out with her. Might, but that didn’t seem to phase Cassie much. She was just happy she didn’t get a no. “Oh…wow…lovely…thank you I already have a dress picked out…it’s red…it’s so wow…lovely” Cassie kind of filled with excitement was practically on the edge of her seat as she leaned forward. “I do hope you can…it could be lovely…yes…oh…wow…would be really lovely” Cassie said with excitement as she smiled at Darryl. She really wanted to go with him, she would give everything in the world to go with him. “We can just go…even as friends…if you like…oh…yes…wow…lovely…just as friends” Cassie smiled with excitement. She couldn’t believe he might show up.
“We could go to the Golden Cuisine if you like…oh…yes…wow…it’s a lovely place I promise. I work there” Cassie smiled as she tilted her head on the side, staring at Darryl. “I do hope you have the time, it could be really fun, or I can try to make it fun” Cassie hoped. She knew she wasn’t Shannelle, but she could make him happy, she knew she could, it couldn’t be hard. Shannelle never did much to get Darryl’s attention but she always got it. She never got it, she always had to try to get his attention. Like now, she had to ask him out, he would never ask her out.
