STRENGTHS

--Witchcraft-- Charles is an experienced witch who’s been practicing for years. He works with both good and dark magic but has never worried about the usage of either. They are both very interesting, but he has never felt the need to choose between the two.
--Leader--Charles has never been one to follow anyone else. He’s always been one to take control of a situation and be a leader to others.
--Will Power--Charles doesn’t give up on himself or his plans. He believes in himself enough to push forward until his task is complete no matter what the cost.
--Physically Fit-- Charles has always been very athletic. He works out very frequently to be the best he can be. As a bodyguard, he needs to be ready to block an attack on Aylen whenever it may be necessary.
--Hiding--Working with Aylen for two years now, he has learned to keep his feelings and emotions to himself. Actually, he has always been good at lying, but with Aylen that skill has been used excessively. Bringing emotions and feelings into his line of work is inappropriate; at least that is what he thinks.
--Serious-- Charles can have fun, but he knows how to be serious, and when it comes to Aylen, it is all hard work and no play. He hates more than anything when Aylen doesn’t listen to him when she should know that what he says is trying to help her in the long run. But Aylen is stubborn which irritates the crap out of him.
--Intimidating-- If you saw Charles in a crowd, you probably wouldn’t be interested in approaching him even with how cute he is because he is very intimidating. He just has this scary vibe to him that makes people antsy.
--Protective-- When he cares about something, he will protect it with his life. Aylen is no different. Aylen means a lot to him, more than he can really understand. She isn’t just a job to him. Because of this, he would stop at nothing to make sure she is safe.
WEAKNESSES
--Abrasive-- Charles has a personality that can be difficult to deal with at times. He is very harsh and rough with his behavior which tends to cause problems when he tries to make friends.[/BLOCKQUOTE]
--The Boss-- Charles can’t stand having to follow orders. In that sense, he is a lot like Aylen. He likes to be at the head of the game. What he says goes, and that is how he always wants it to be. He can’t see anything wrong with that way of thinking. He likes to be the leader because he feels that he can be the best at it.
--Fighting with a Temper-- Charles is a fighter. He isn’t afraid to bust a few faces open. And when you get him pissed off, that just causes more problems. Even with his violent streak, Charles would never hurt anyone he cared about unless he had good reason too. Although when it comes to women, he has a soft spot and has a hard time even finding it possible to hit one.
--Aylen-- What he feels for Aylen is more than just work related. Even if he stopped working for Aylen’s family, he would still continue to protect her. He has gotten to the point where he would do anything to keep her safe even if it meant killing someone or having to die himself. He wouldn’t hesitate. He tells himself that it’s just the job, but he knows deep down that he cares for her much more than he would care for any other client.
--Trust-- Charles doesn’t trust people very easily. It takes a lot for him to even consider you a friend.
--Opening up-- Charles never talks about his past or himself. It just doesn’t happen. Even with his relationship with Aylen, he never focuses on himself because he really doesn’t think it is anyone’s business. He just finds it hard to talk to people about anything that he feels.

Charles Holden Jones was born to Vanessa and Rick Jones on March 4th 1985 in Cheyenne Wyoming. He was a happy baby who was even happier when he had a sibling to play with. His brother Samuel was born two years after Charles, and although he was only two, this is where their connection began. There wasn’t a moment you would see them without each other. If Charles decided to walk to the opposite side of the room, Samuel would crawl after him. Early on, it was pretty obvious when watching both boys that Charles was very protective of Samuel. When Samuel would find his way into things he shouldn’t be getting into, Charles would always try to get him away from those things. Like getting into the household chemicals in the bottom of the closet, chewing on anything he could get his little bitty fingers on including his mother’s tampons, and finding his way to the open door. Charles was always there to keep an eye on him. Even though he was only two years older than Samuel, it was almost like he had a parental instinct.
When Charles and Samuel got into high school together, this changed a bit. They both still did everything together, but they were their own persons. Charles got into sports mainly wrestling and football, while Samuel sort of did his own thing. Even with these sports, Charles didn’t have a ton of friends. He was very rough around the edges, and most of his friends were made through a lot of exposure to him. He was sort of someone that just grew on you after a while. Charles knew how to play that mysterious card, which many girls would die for. He had a few girlfriends here and there, but relationships didn’t go over so well with him. He would be with a girl for a few weeks and then become completely bored with her. It wasn’t because of the girl, it was just because Charles had better things to do. He would much rather have a girl as a friend than deal with the responsibilities of having a girlfriend.
When Charles turned 18, it was a bit of a turning point in his life. He made the decision to be done with school. He would rather work his entire life than have to do homework for one more class. He also found out that he was a witch. It was an accident really. There was a flood in their basement, and both of them were too busy trying to get the important things that could be damaged by water out of the basement that they didn’t realize that some of the electric wires were dangling out of the wall. Just as Charles headed up the stairs, he turned to tell Samuel something and noticed that the wires were beginning to spark and the electrical current was making contact with the water that Samuel was standing in. He was able to completely halt the electrical current before it killed his brother. After that, things were a bit strange for Charles. He wasn’t sure what happened to him, but he took it as a gift. He began practicing and strengthening the abilities that he had.
Two years later, when Samuel turned 18, the same thing happened. Both brothers realized that it was obviously something that was family related although neither of them risked telling their parents. If their parents knew about it, they would have said something which they didn’t. Magic was sort of the one thing that Charles and Samuel had in common. Even though they were already close, the magic just brought them closer.
Charles did a lot of working at random places. He really didn’t have a specific preference for a job. Whatever he could get would work. Most of his jobs turned out with him either being a bouncer or a body guard for someone. It paid off being physically fit. At least those jobs he got good money. But he would never be able to hold onto a bouncer job for longer than a few weeks at the most because he’d always end up getting violent with people. The job that changed it all was working for Aylen’s family. When he was 25, Charles caught wind of a rich family looking for two bodyguards for their daughter. The family was from LA, and although Charles knew nothing of the responsibilities of the job, he was interested. After all, he had nothing to lose….except Samuel. Charles wanted to go in for an interview, but the hardest thing would be leaving Samuel behind. So, Charles decided that the best way for them to stick together was for Samuel to come with him to LA. Samuel agreed, so they packed their stuff and left for LA.
Charles was in for a rude awakening. Aylen was unbelievable. Difficult to work with, always had an attitude, didn’t listen to him. It was irritating and most of the time Charles would always find himself arguing with Aylen. It was a good thing Samuel was there though. He seemed to be the peacemaker between the two.
Now, Charles and Samuel are still closer than ever, and even though Charles and Aylen are always fighting, they are close as well. Charles won’t admit it to anyone, but he has real feelings for Aylen. He just can’t seem to figure them out. He knows he likes her but also knows that something like that would be inappropriate for his job. It could cost him everything. So, the feelings he has for her he keeps hidden from her and his brother.
CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT
Hmmm, well, I want Charles to actually like Aylen more than just a client. I want him to have feelings for her so much so that if something were to happen to her, he’d probably do something stupid. He is a witch, and although he has always been one to control his dark magic urges, if something happened to her, that might be the thing to push him over the edge. I was thinking maybe Samuel, his brother, could possibly have feelings for her too which would cause a lot of drama. Charles has never disliked his brother at any time because they have always been so close. If they both loved her, it would really test their relationship. I’m also thinking maybe Charles starts to date someone which might affect the relationship Aylen and Charles have. But those are just a few ideas. Not for sure what I’d like to happen to him yet.[/BLOCKQUOTE]
