STRENGTHS
[/BLOCKQUOTE]
• Martial Arts- Lily needs to be good at fighting, being a Private Investigator. Really, she doesn’t need to use her martial arts skills often, although every once in a while she does need to use what she knows. She is a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, though she tends to let her skills get a little rusty.
• Accuracy- Lily has a license to carry a gun, so she goes to the range often to keep up with her accuracy at shooting. She’s a good shot, and loves to practice. She uses it as a sort of therapy when she gets angry.
• Honesty- Lily has always tried to be honest, which is good for her job. She has a strong sense of morals, and feels lying doesn’t get people anywhere, unless it’s about her feelings.
• Observant- Being a P.I., Lily needs to be a very observant person. Before she became a P.I., she often noticed things most people never did. She can pick up on clues most people would have otherwise missed, and she often notices when people are lying to her, making her somewhat distrustful of people.
• Intelligent- Lily leads people to believe that she’s not as smart as she seems, usually twirling her hair over one finger and giggling like a bubble-headed fool. However, she has a very keen mind, and knows that a lot of people will let slip things to a fool more than they would to her when she acted her usual self.
•Athletic- Often, she needs to run to catch someone in the act. Lily needs to be athletically fit to do her job well, and enjoys running up and down the streets of her neighborhood with her Zune blasting music to run to.
• Studying- Lily never jumps into a job unprepared. She studies up on a client beforehand, using whatever means necessary to get her job done and done right. She won’t take a job from someone if she thinks they might have some backdoor dealings with any illegal outfits.
• Patience- Lily grew up knowing the meaning of patience. She was told she would never get anywhere in life if she jumped in head first without thinking of the consequences.
WEAKNESSES
[/BLOCKQUOTE]
• Emotionally Stunted- Lily doesn’t like to admit it, but she can be emotionally stunted. She is empathetic towards others, and is great at soothing other people’s worries or fears. However, her own emotions are something she usually hides from, especially when they happen to be about Xzavier.
• One-Track mind- Once Lily focuses on something (other than a case), she tends to have a one track mind. Once she gets her mind set on something, it’s nearly impossible to get it off again. When her mind is set on its one-track phase, she tends to miss things that should have been obvious to her.
• Observant- While this is a strength for Lily in her chosen field, it’s also a weakness to her. She’s starting to notice things that are odd, and she’s afraid she might be getting herself into something fishy, thanks to Xzavier.
• Impulsive- Most of the time, Lily doesn’t do things impulsively. However, when she does it usually turns out badly for her. Once, she tried to be impulsive on a case she was working on, and ended up with a broken arm.
• Xzavier- He’s a huge weakness for her, though she hates herself for it. She buries her feelings for him deep, and refuses to let them see the light of day, though it’s harder when she’s around him. She tends to get harsh and irritable when around him.
• Children- Lily loves kids, so when she takes a job where abuse of a child is involved, she often loses her self-control. Many people hire her for custody cases, and she usually takes them to give the courts a good idea of who should take care of the child, or often, if the child would be better in the system.
LIKES
[/BLOCKQUOTE]
• Strawberries- Lily has a strong weakness for the sweet fruit, especially if there happens to be chocolate on it. She often had them with Xzavier, though she tries to block that memory out.
• Forests- Before she moved to LA, Lily lived very close to a forest. She loved to go out there to walk around and just enjoy nature.
• Photography- When she’s not working, Lily will usually take her camera out and take pictures. She loves photography, and loves to take pictures of pretty much everything. People, pets, scenery, anything that sparks her interest.
• Reading- Lily is a fan of pretty much any sort of book she can get her hands on, except for steamy romance novels, which typically annoy her with their horrible story lines.
• Writing- Lily has a fancy for writing, and has even started to write a book about a P.I. to show people what the life of a Private Investigator is really like. She doesn’t expect to show it to anyone though, or even try to get it published.
• Art- Being observant has helped Lily draw things fairly well. She’s not a great artist, but when she gets bored, she usually turns to reading or drawing before she watches television.
DISLIKES
[/BLOCKQUOTE]
• Crime Shows- Everyone assumes because Lily is a P.I., she loves to watch crime shows on television, and thinks of her life as glamorous. In fact, her job is anything but, filled with hard work, paperwork, or mind-numbing surveillance. People don’t seem to realize being a P.I. is nothing like what they see on television.
• Television- Lily doesn’t necessarily hate watching television, but she doesn’t much like it often either. She really only has a tv for the news and music channels she can get with her contract to Dish, but other than that the TV usually remains a blank screen.
• Cruelty- Lily hates cruel people, regardless of who or what they’re being cruel to. She can’t stand animal cruelty, she thinks it’s just as bad as cruelty towards people.
• Rudeness- Having been raised in a nice home, Lily finds rudeness to be deplorable. Even her Uncle, dying of leukemia, was never rude to Lily or anyone. She has little patience for rude or cruel people, and will refuse to deal with them should they try to hire her for something.
• Cooking- Lily is a great cook, but she hates to do it. After her mother died, Lily was in charge of cooking for her and her Uncle, at least until he had to get a live-in nurse. She hated to cook, though she was always good at it.
HISTORY
Lily was born to Vanessa Collins, and was the product of a one-night-stand her mother had with an Asian man. Despite this, Vanessa loved her daughter dearly, and did whatever she could to help her as she grew. However, when she was twelve, her mother was killed in a gas station during a robbery. The man was never caught, and Lily was left alone with a sick Uncle who didn’t know how to raise a child. Her Uncle did his best, but he was extremely sick and was in and out of the hospital more often than not. Lily often had to fend for herself, and had to figure things out the hard way.[/BLOCKQUOTE]
When she was seventeen, Lily had already been accepted into a University in Los Angeles and graduated high school. She moved from her small home in Tennessee, and went to Los Angeles to become what she always dreamed of becoming, a Private Investigator. There, she met Xzavier Evans, the first guy she ever noticed take an interest in her. And she took an interest in him right back. The two had hit it off in more ways than one. Their biggest though, was their long, steamy affair until Xzavier broke it up not long after she graduated, not giving Lily a reason. Xzavier had been her only real friend at the University, and when the two began to sleep together, he became her first and only lover. Lily hadn’t ever been interested in things like that before, so when she met Xzavier, it was something new to her. She began to fall in love with him, and by the time he broke it off she was hopelessly in love. He shattered her heart, though despite herself she often finds herself thinking of him and wondering what had happened, or if it was something she had done to cause him to break their relationship off so suddenly.
Hurt, heartbroken, Lily went back to Tennessee. Her Uncle was in the hospital, and they believed he didn’t have long to live. She stayed with him, going to see him every day. Though he hadn’t known how to raise a child, being single and in the mindset that he had never wanted children, he cared for Lily very much, and she loved him back. He had been the sort of father figure she’d needed in her life, since her mother had never dated. He told Lily that he loved her like his own daughter, and she held his hand as she died, crying quietly next to his bed. She was twenty two.
After her Uncle died, Lily had no more family. Her grandparents had died before she was born, and she knew of no cousins or other Aunts or Uncles, and she never even knew her father. Lily’s uncle left her everything in his will, though she didn’t know what to do with it. She sold his house, there were too many memories for her to ever feel comfortable there. She took that money, as well as the money she inherited from her mother, and moved back to Los Angeles, the only other place that had felt like home to her. She bought a nice sized building on the main drag in LA, and converted it into her own Private Investigator service. She lived upstairs in the apartment above the main floor she used as a shop.
It took Lily awhile to get anyone interested enough in hiring her. Often, she took jobs from the local Police force when they needed something they weren’t able to find on their own. Slowly though, she began to build a regular cliental, and eventually her P.I. service began to take off.
One day, while she was working on a case for a woman trying to get custody of her two twin children, she ran into Xzavier. It was a toss-up as to who was more shocked, though Lily doubted Xzavier felt a wrench of grief, anger, and loss in his gut the way she did. The two started talking again, slowly, though Lily wasn’t sure what she wanted to do with it. She did notice something odd about him though, strange comments she wasn’t supposed to have heard, odd phone calls he would take in another room or outside. She felt something fishy was going on with him, and wasn’t sure what it was. She did know, though, that she was going to try to get to the bottom of it, regardless of what it was. She tried not to think too hard as to why she felt worried he was getting into something that seemed fishy. Certainly she didn’t still have feelings for him. Right?
CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT
Having been a lover of Xzavier’s in the past, it’s unclear (to Lily) what her feelings are towards him now that they have reunited. However, her feelings towards him are the least of her worries, as she starts to notice something fishy about him, but can’t get him to open up to tell her what’s going on. Worried, she tries to follow him to find out what’s going on, regardless of the fact that she could easily get dragged into whatever Xzavier has gotten himself into.[/BLOCKQUOTE]

Around 10 years. I've been at it awhile.| N/A
Lily froze, crouched down behind a dumpster that reeked of three-day-old food and what was probably a couple of dead rodents. Her mark was closer than she would have liked, but she hoped that the stench of the disgusting dumpster next to her would put them off. She raised her camera, and snapped a couple of pictures. A woman had hired her to help her get custody of her children, and wanted Lily to prove that her ex was not only sleeping around, but doing it with prostitutes. The way this guy went about things, Lily mused, the ex-wife could have done it without being seen. She snapped two more pictures as he gave the working girl a kiss that he probably shouldn’t have done on the open street only a few feet away. She rolled her eyes with disgust, unsure why the courts didn’t just give custody of the children to the mother. Lily didn’t think he had even bothered to hire a babysitter before he went out for his midday roll.
“Disgusting,” She murmured. She stood, backing away slowly before she knew she wouldn’t be seen. She had enough, and didn’t want to watch the two any longer. Her gut crawled with revulsion, and a bit of heartache. She remembered when her and Xzavier…
No, She told herself silently. Don’t go there. Just… Don’t go there, Lily. She shook her head before she climbed into her car a block away from the ex-husband and his new ‘playmate’ before she pulled her phone out of her hip pocket, and dialed her employers number.
“I got him. With some of these pictures, the kids will be yours in no time.”
