What was it? Call him crazy but he firmly believed it was kind of like - flirting. Opening up about your feelings, planning to go out together and giving him a ride home. Obviously Axel was straight, no surprise there. Look at him. He dressed cute but straight, hooked up with chicks and seemed to be a strong drinker. Maybe Eli was raising his hopes just to have them torn down. It was stupid, he felt like a fucking twelve year old with a first crush. But with his hand resting on his thighs, he innocently looked at Axel. Was he - - curious or something? Risen hopes! Maybe Eli is the one with some issues. But this 'friendship' which was kind of getting brewed within the seconds was making Eli worry kind of. Call him paranoid, but some of his guy friendships drifted apart when they found out he was gay. It wasn't like he hit on them or acted the part, but they don't like it. Societies screwed up views he guessed. Still, he didn't want the same thing to happen with Axel.
He now felt bad for him. This kind of 'anti-social' talk hit a soft spot. He felt alone obviously, and kind of wasn't in denial that he had social issues. It wasn't an easy thing to hear. "No". At first it sounded blunt, and in a way he wanted to get closer. The logic in his mind however made him stationed in the driver seat however. Looking down, he sighed with his tongue to the side of his mouth, and looked up at him. "Your not a bad guy. Yeah, you have some issues but - man, who doesn't. It comes with the package. You get the nice smile, good hair and the baggage that comes with. So no, your not a bad guy. But if you need help, I'm here". Sappy shit in a time of deep and meaningful convo. An Eli Diastone specialty.
Taking the piece of paper, he gave him a warm smile as he slipped it into the pocket of his jacket. He would definitely call, and sitting in the car feeling kind of good now, he gave Axel a friendly nod as he took in a breath. "Goodnight bud". The door closed and Eli sat in the car, watching Axel walk off. He still felt like a dog, being such an asshole to the kid tonight but really, he needed someone to talk to. Eli was happy to take the responsibility. Putting the number into his phone, he then remembered. He had to help the band pack up. Kicked out of the club or not, he had to get his friend's van packed up for another night. Hopefully the next time, Axel will be there. Risen hopes. With that, he started the car back up, reversed out of the park and drove off into the night again.
