Though he was surprised at Marina's exuberant response, Trenton didn't say anything but simply returned the gesture. He loved it when she broke out of her shell like this. At her request for water, Trenton nodded and led her to where the bartender was and helped her sit down as she ordered her drink. "And I'll have a Coors beer," Trenton added. The bartender nodded and got the required beverages. "That'll be---" the bartender started to say. "Free," Trenton interrupted, letting his pupils widen as he stared at the man, trapping him in his gaze. "On the house," the bartender finished. "Thank you very much," Trenton smirked and then drank his beer, taking a quick perusal of the place once more. Yeah, he was good. Okay, so he could afford to pay for the beer, but he just didn't feel like it tonight. Besides, what was the point of being a vampire if you didn't have a little fun with your powers once in a while? Then he let out a true smile grace his features. He was here with Marina and had only killed one vampire. That wasn't too bad for him. I bet I could still give Marina a nice night he thought to himself. And if this night started to go bad, they would leave and he would attempt to salvage it. It was a good plan. Hopefully it would work...

Watching Trent bespell his own bartender made her giggle, "If anyone could get a free meal its you, Trent. You own half the business." she teased him gently as she kept her gaze to the front of the bar. She sipped her water and relaxed a bit more, although it was odd watching humans dance with beings that had no reflection in the bar mirror. Very disquieting and a bit unsettling to be honest.
"So, Trent. Do you have any hobbies besides hating werewolves, eating people and kicking ass?" Her eyes twinkled as she said it, a light smirk upon her lips as she gently teased him, "Cause none of those things seems like a group activity I could participate in or enjoy." she glanced at the bartender, "A glass of bailey's please." she ordered as Trent drank his beer. She noticed a female vampire sauntering up to Trent a bit warily but dressed for the kill. Nothing too stereotypical. Just a little black dress that was more little than it was a dress.
"So, Trent. Whose your girlfriend?" the vampiress said as she smirked at Mari and stood close to Trent. Mari resisted the urge to speak. After all she didn't know if her perceptions were off or if this really was an old friend of Trent's.

Trenton rolled his eyes at Marina's teasing tone as she said that he could get a free meal since he owned half of the establishment. "Yes, well, that is just one of the perks," he grinned. He rather liked it when Marina teased him as it showed that she was becoming confident with herself and their situation. At her question, Trent frowned as if thought. "Well, I like to spend time with a very beautiful girl who is just now coming out of her shell," he finally answered seriously. Then Marina ordered her own drink and as he drank his beer, he became aware of a female vampire walking up to him. He gave her a friendly nod, taking note of the dress. "Hello, Samantha," he greeted. At the other vampire's question, he moved closer to Marina. "Her name is Marina. And she is more than a girlfriend as an unfortunate vampire quite recently learned," he answered. It is all right, Bella. Samantha is a friend of mine and she will not hurt you, he assured mentally. "So, I have not seen you in a while. What brings you here?" he wondered.

She chuckled softly at his answer, one might actually think they were a normal couple with the way things were going. Provided you didn't look too closely at what was going on in the corners. She really didn't want to honestly, she'd probably blush like crazy if she did.
"Good answer." she said as she raised her glass to him, "Very suave." she said with a wink as she sipped her drink. "Though shells are nice and cosy and comfortable." she added.
Marina nodded quietly as she looked the other girl over. "Pleased to meet you." she said as she and Samantha shook hands gently. The other woman smiled good naturedly as Marina leaned against Trenton and tried to relax.
"Likewise, I heard you had become King and were dating the princess here. I didn't expect her to have a pulse." she admitted honestly as she looked over at the other woman with a bit of confusion on her face.
"Having a pulse is all the rage. Trust me, soon all the races will have one." she winked at the other girl trying to smooth the waters gently.

Trenton smiled as Marina complimented his answer before saying that shells were cozy. "Yes, but they can also be confining," he reminded her and then smiled in pleasure as Samantha and Marina shared pleasantries. It was nice to be able to pretend to be human every once in a while and here was the place you could do it...as long as you ignored the vampires feeding/mating in the darkest corners of the club. But hey, if you couldn't have a little fun, what was the point of eternity?
When Samantha stated that she had heard Trenton had become king and was dating the Vampire Princess and that she hadn't expected his chosen mate to be human, Trenton smiled gently at the confusion in her voice. He couldn't blame her. One would expect him to take a vampire as a mate, not a human turned angel. "As strange as it may seem to our species, Bella completes me. She makes me who I am. And she did not desire to be turned and given everything she has been through, I saw no point in forcing the issue. She has had her choice taken away enough times and I will never do that to her," he explained.
He then smirked at Marina's quip that having a pulse was all the rage and that soon everyone would have one. "That would certainly make our politics interesting," he commented as he finally finished his drink in one long gulp. "So what about you, Samantha? Have you found a mate?" he queried.

As she sipped her drink, Mari exhaled and tried focusing on Trent and Trent's words instead of the 101 things that a bar scene could bring. She felt an amazing sense of deja vu with this place. It seemed a lifetime ago that she had sat down at that bus stop and run into him. Slipping her phone out of her pocket she thumbed over to the calendar and showed him, "Next week is the anniversary of when I first met you, Trent." she whispered softly. She thumbed over to where she could see the year and glanced at the notations she had made.
How little she knew. She never thought that the guy who sat next to her was a vampire or that she'd be dating him on and off for a year in between relationships with a jock and a doctor, well sort of...now, here she was, drinking in a bar with him.
Keeping her face nuetral, Mari smiled politely, she was surprised that Trent felt that strongly for her, not that she didn't care about him but that he was so open about it. She leaned against him gently and closed her eyes, not zoning out per sec so much as using his emotions to block out all the negative ones that could come pouring in in a place such as this. Her thoughts were jumbled and disjointed but still an open book as she sat there and thought back.
She leaned more into Trent and shivered slightly, red stained her cheeks as she remembered Rodney. The pain of being left in the hospital like she didn't matter hurt and it would always hurt. Trent didn't have to worry she'd ever go looking for him, she didn't think she'd ever recover fully. She gulped her drink and it slammed into her for a moment causing her eyes to cross.
"Oh I'm doing as well as expected. You know how it is, a fling here a fling there." Samantha said breezily as she looked at both of them with a bit of puzzlement, "Never took you for the settling down type, Trent. You sure you're not getting slow in your old age?" she teased with a nudge.

As Trenton was talking, he saw Mari take her phone out and look at something before she showed him and reminded him that it had been a year since they had met. Trenton smiled softly. A whole year. He could hardly believe it. It had been a whole year since the most beautiful girl he had ever seen had come into his life. And to think it all started because he had originally approached her with the intent of making her a meal. "Yes, and I have something special planned for us later tonight, Bella," he promised, as he looked at the notation. There was no way he was going to let an important anniversary such as this go uncelebrated.
Marina leaned against him and Trenton saw a faint flush cover her cheeks and she drank her drink roughly. As if sensing her mood change, he went to put an arm around her and pull her close. It is all right, Bella. That will never happen to you again. I swear it, he mentally told her. Then, he laughed as Samantha having a couple of flings and that she had never figured him for the settling down type. "Well that is just because I had not found the right woman yet," Trenton responded before going to kiss Marina on the lips.

"You are totally going to spoil me. I got us Bon Jovi concert tickets for when they are in town next week. I thought maybe it could be something you, Diana and I could do as a group. Robert told me you guys used to go to his concerts." she said as she looked over at him and grinned.
She hugged Trent back and made a gesture to the bartender for another drink. snuggling against him she kissed him back warmly, the taste of bailey's on her lips, "You keep talking like that and my ego won't let me fit through the door." she chided as she looked at him.
"You two are way too cute. She could use some food though." Samantha pointed out as she watched Marina knock back the first glass of Bailey's. "Speaking of dinner I'm off to get some for myself." she said as she went to move off and dance with an artsy poet type.

Trent grinned when Marina said that he was spoiling her. "Well I like spoiling you," he responded. Then his eyes lit up. Bon Jovi! He loved Bon Jovi! He hadn't been to one of his concerts since the eighties. I wonder if he would remember me, he mused. Then Hey, I could make him remember me, he thought. "Yeah we did. Sounds good," he said out loud. Then he laughed at her comment that if he kept things up, her ego wouldn't let her fit through the door. "Oh come on, Bella. You could use an ego boost," he told her. And it was true. Though she had come out of her shell somewhat, she was still shy.
His reverie was broken when Samantha cooed, saying the two of them were cute and then pointed out that Marina could use some food. "Oh you're right. I am so sorry, Bella. I didn't mean to forget that," Trenton apologized as Samantha stated that she needed some food as well and then went off to dance. "What can I get you?" he asked.

"I suppose. Seems like most of the people in my life before you and Diana had big enough egos as it is. Always thought I had to tone it down a bit." she admitted as she looked at her glass, "I saw what their pride got them and didn't want to end up there/"
The bartender slipped her a menu, granted it was bar fair so their wasn't a lot of variety but hey it would probably be good, "I'll have the chipoltle chicken sandwich and fries." she decided as she pushed the menu gently back to the bartender with a smile. She felt eyes on her and glanced behind her, some vampires were still eyeing them warily and she leaned closer to Trent, "Does this always happen?" she asked him as she flexed her toes in her flats and and straightened her back.
Sipping her thoughts she wondered where all this was really going. Logan was gone and she was doing her best to adapt but it was hard. She curled into Trent gently and rested her head on his shoulder.

Trenton nodded in understanding as Marina said that she had known people with big egos and had toned her ego down since she had seen where the other people had ended up and didn't want the same fate for herself. "Perfectly understandable," he told her. He listened to Marina's order and then ordered for himself: a roast turkey sandwich. Hey, just because he didn't have to eat regular food, didn't mean that didn't. A few minutes later their food came and Trenton took a couple of bites of the sandwich to keep up appearances. Then Marina asked him if things like this happened. "Vampires trying to make a move on another's claim? Not very often," Trenton responded as he followed her gaze to some vampires who were still staring at them warily. For good measure, he gave out a quiet growl, flashing his fangs at them in warning, though the rest of his features remained normal. Marina then leaned into him and he went to put his arm around her. You will always be safe with me, Bella, he silently assured her.

Sitting there at the bar eating food you might think that they were on a regular date, but that would be assuming that you ignored the feeding in the corners of the room and the propensity of scarves, chokers and other ways that donators hid their bite marks. One thing was certain, as long as vampires walked the earth neck wear would never completely go out of fashion.
"So, answer me some questions that I've been wondering, since this is a date and all. What's your favorite color? Your favorite era and band?" she asked him as she ordered a coke to go with her food. Her brown eyes looked at him curiously as he looked over at a group of vampires and flashed his fangs. "Well, its good to know I won't be always be hunted." she swallowed a bit and relaxed into his hug. 'Thank you, Trent.' she just wanted to curl up and never move from this spot. Here she felt safe. She closed her eyes and just rested against him for a bit.
