Thayer wasn’t sure what Emery’s plan was, she seemed very determined and wanted to show Thayer something. He wasn’t sure how to take this, she was after all teaching him the trade of his powers but what did this have to do with anything. The walk was long, but Emery just seemed destined to be to whatever location they were going. Thayer just followed, looking down, basically following her footsteps. He seemed down, thinking about Selena, thinking about losing his mother without even knowing her. Emery came to a halt, Thayer wasn’t sure where he was, since he wasn’t paying much attention to where they were going, so he decided to look up and figure out where they were. When Thayer looked around, he realized they were at the cemetery. Sure, exactly what Thayer needed, a reminder that he killed before, that he had killed innocent people. What was Emery’s deal; he was certainly questioning why she brought him here.
He just followed Emery in, who wasn’t saying much to him either, she was determined to help him but was bringing here really helping him, was it really something he wanted to do now? Be reminded by death. It certainly didn’t seem like Emery was helping now, but he figured she knew what she was doing, she knew what to do when he almost killed the guy, maybe she knows what to do now too? He just had to trust her now, she was the only person who truly understood him, who truly knew what he was going through and knew about his powers. But why the cemetery, why do this to his current fragile state. But he just tagged along and followed, seemed to be his routine now, just follow people, trust them, because he couldn’t trust himself, he couldn’t trust himself around people, he could be a danger to them, a danger to himself. “Emery, why are we here? What are we doing here?” he questioned hoping Emery could shed some light to her choice in helping place.
Though what Emery said didn’t really get through to Thayer until they stopped again, and then he saw a headstone and his jaw dropped, his eyes were slowly watering and he felt emotionally wrecked, it was what surprised she brought him here, maybe she did something right, she did something good in bringing him here. He looked at her and didn’t know what to say. How to express himself ” Emery, I..I don’t know what to say” Thayer looked back down at the headstone as he dropped down to his knee with his head down as a tear slowly glided down his cheek. He looked up at the headstone, eyes all watery. It was revealed on the headstone was written. “Selena Hart”, Thayer’s mother, this is the closest he has been too his mother, where he felt like a kid again, felt special, felt important. “Mom?” Thayer said slightly as he stared at the headstone, filled with grief and sadness.

Emery trudged through the damp grass of the famous LA Cemetery her arms dangling along her sides trying to fight the urge to spin around and clock Thayer in the head to make him aware of her irritation with his constant spouts of depression. Emery continued walking but glanced back at him to see how he was holding up. Just as she imagined, he was still following her, his head drooping like a flower that hadn’t been watered in days. She sighed moving her eyes back in front of her. ”Come on Thayer, you’re in a location full of thousands upon thousands of lucky individuals who got to take the easy way out. Why so sad?” Emery shivered and shook her head as if she were attempting to ward off annoying little buzzing bugs. ”Stop it man, you’re making me all moopy.” It probably wasn’t the best time to joke around with him, but she should probably make him feel a little better considering the fact that she was about to show him something that would probably worsen his mood completely. But she wanted to make this as casual and friend-like as possible. And what would friends do when others were upset? Well, probably not diss them by degrading their emotions but that’s all she really had as far as ideas went.
Emery smiled as she continued on without turning to him. ” Cool your jets, Smalls. We’re almost there. Not too much further.” Emery loved how Thayer looked to her for answers. It made her truly believe that he was going to help her in the end….well unknowingly of course. Just as these thoughts passed through Emery’s mind, her eyes focused on a headstone up ahead. That was the one. After her little situation with Thayer and the letter a few days back, Emery went searching for Selena’s headstone. Thayer was very confused, and Emery wanted to take full advantage of that point. Emery moved towards it and once right in front of it, she stopped. ”We’re here.” Emery said softly as she dug her hands into her dark brown leather jacket. She glanced over at Thayer, and his eyes looked from the headstone to Emery’s eyes.
Thayer dropped to his knees in front of the headstone of Selena Hart, and Emery listened as he spoke her name. The name he was never able to call her….mom. Emery watched his expression full of grief and sadness. Emery thought for a moment about her ‘almost’ death. There had been no one who would have wept for her. The only reason anyone would be sad is because they wouldn’t’ have someone to take advantage of and manipulate anymore. She could feel her own sadness from her past creeping up on her, and she quickly cleared her throat and knelt down by Thayer resting her hand on his back. This wasn’t the time for her personal issues to rise. In fact, there was no time for that. She was different, and she had a mission. Thayer was that mission. Thayer helping her to kill the Trinity Brothers. Thayer helping her to keep her abilities. Thayer helper her to sneak her way into Hart Enterprises. ”Do you know who did this, Thayer?” Emery knew he had the answer. She knew he did, but she wanted him to hear it. ”They did, Thayer. They did this to her.” She glanced down at the headstone. ”They did this to you. That letter only showed me how much she wanted to be there with you. To be there for you. They took that away from both of you.” Emery hesitated to let all of her words sink in. Maybe she was coming at him a bit stronger than she had planned, but it was a touchy subject, and all she could see was the death of these brothers and her survival. She hoped the softness of her voice would help ease the accusations she was making. ”Listen, I know that you are a new incubi, and I know that there is a lot you don’t understand, but the trinity brothers had no problem hurting Selena. They are not your friends. They will never be your friends. They hurt her, and they will hurt you too. I’m not asking you to destroy them. I’m just….” Emery’s eyes found his, ”….i’m just asking you to stand up for yourself, and your family.”

All Thayer could to is just sit here and look, look at the remains of what was once his mother, or well what could be the remains, Thayer didn’t know the extent of her death but this was where her tomb stone was, this is where “Selena Hart” was written, here was where his mother lay. He suddenly felt a hand slowly resting on his back, it was Emery’s and Thayer suddenly felt a bit more at ease, Emery was helping him, like his mother should have, he was being helped by someone and she was completely sincere about it all. Emery was the only thing Thayer had to a family now and he was grateful she was here to help him, he still couldn’t believe it but here was his mother, the woman he was looking for all his life and he couldn’t even call her mom. Thayer’s eyes continue to water as Emery slowly tries to console him, make him feel better and she asked if he knew who did it, but it was obvious to the both of them who did it, it was them, those Trinity Brothers, they ruined his life, they killed his mother, but what can he do? He was nothing more than a weakling. But the letter did say they did it, and Emery was right, it was their fault but was it really? He wasn’t sure, Selena was an odd woman, she wanted them for a reason, Thayer tried catching them for her, it couldn’t have been their fault if she wanted them. “Maybe, maybe they didn’t mean too”
Once Thayer said those words, he couldn’t believe them himself, he felt dumb for even thinking it, of course they killed her, if she wanted them dead, they must have wanted the same for her. Thayer regret he said that but what else could he say? He was all confused about what was going on. But Emery was right, they did hurt his mother, the one thing he always wanted even after they knew why he came to LA, they just killed her and they won’t waste time coming after him, that Axel guy did attack him before and Everett did try to kill him, she was right, it was only a matter of time before they came after him. Before they tried to kill him, but maybe they might succeed, they killed Selena who was all powerful, what is a weakling like him. But Emery said destroy them, could he do that, once she said those words it kept circling in his head. But then he looked up at her and she caught his eye and said he needed to stand up for himself, his family, or well, his mother, it’s all the family he knew he had. Thayer tightened his eyes shut thinking what Emery jus said and with a slight sigh, he barely said anything, it was a silent whisper. “I…I can’t” Thayer stared as his eyes filled with water as he looked at Emery, filled with emotion and sadness.
“I just can’t, they would kill me within seconds, I’ve tried before and they just made me look stupid, I can’t do this again, I just can’t, I’ll just fail and let my mother down” Thayer turned his attention back to his mothers headstone and stared as looked back at Emery trying to get his point across. “What Am I going to do? Walk into Hart Enterprises and say I’m the new boss? Nobody will take me seriously, they’ll just laugh at me” Thayer wasn’t the demon Selena was, or well, never thought he could be, he always tried to be confident but in the end he never could be the bad guy expected of him, especially all the responsibility Selena is expecting of him and those Trinity Brothers, what good would he be? He couldn’t catch them, he failed before, why would he succeed now? Well, last time he did that, he didn’t know he could save a life, but Emery seemed convinced he could, but here he was just doubting himself, doubting his abilities in the process doubting Emery, who’s been helpful to him since the day they met. Who knows more about him than he does, maybe she is right, maybe he can do this. He looked up at Emery, worried, in fear hoping she could say something to make him believe he could, she must think he can, she wouldn’t be telling he could, if he couldn’t.

AS EMERY:
Emery wanted to strangle him when he said that the brothers might not have meant to kill her or cause all the problems with Thayer. Not only did she find him pathetic for thinking that way, but she also thought him extremely naïve and stupid. What hunter didn’t mean to kill others? Emery killed people all the time. She was an assassin for an ass hole demon who made her do all of his dirty work. But even though she was being forced to do these things, it didn’t mean that she didn’t want to. There was no way that Axel, Everette, and Xzavier DIDN’T mean to kill Selena. They were probably praying to the God that they so falsely believed in that they could do away with her, so they could move on with their lives. But just before Emery was about to go on about how not right that statement was, she saw his own expression to his own words and realized she didn’t have to. He knew that they did mean to do it because it was their destiny. And even if they didn’t like their destiny, what hunter didn’t like killing the EVIL. And for all Thayer knew, Selena did have a soft side. He was just unable to actually get to know that soft side because the brothers striped her away from him.
But as Thayer went on, Emery realized that his first comment was only said to hide the real reason for not wanting to go after the brothers. It wasn’t because he thought they might not have meant it. It was because he was scared. Scared of the embarrassment if he was successful. Scared of letting his mother down again. Scared of getting to that point in his abilities. He was doubting himself majorly, and he had reason to. There was no way he was strong enough to go up against them. Not yet anyways, and it was going to take time to get to that point. Time was definitely not on Emery’s side though. These brothers needed to be eliminated as quickly as possible. The fate of her was at stack. For a split second, Emery wondered what Thayer would do if he knew that she was going to basically die if he didn’t help her destroy them. Would that change things? No, of course it wouldn’t. Especially once he found out that all of this was done for her benefit, not his. But the low confidence she was getting from him wasn’t going to help in her efforts. He needed another push in the right direction. A direction that would show him that he really did need to do this for himself. ”That is exactly what you are going to do. You are going to walk into that firm and take what is rightfully yours. And you are going to do it with confidence because you are going to be strong enough to. You are going to have that power, and you are going to use it all. There is so much you haven’t even seen yet, Thayer, and I’m going to show it to you. Emery watched for his response, and her words seemed to be helping, but the slight uncertainty was enough for her to help him understand the severity of his past with the brothers. ”Thayer, there is still information you don’t know about your family. The brothers will always want you killed. It isn’t just about Selena or you.” Emery hesitated briefly. Did she really want to bring all of this up to him. He was already dealing with so much right now. As those thoughts seeped their way into her mind from that hidden place she kept all of her unwanted emotions, Emery became irritated with herself. Why was she feeling at all remorseful for what she was doing? This was the only way she could keep these succubus abilities of hers. The only way she could stay alive. There was no remorse in that. ”It’s about your father too.”She watched him as she said it. ”You have a destiny Thayer. You’ve had one all along.”
