Emery wiped the Pinnacle Whipped Vodka from the counter with a black rag. She’d been pretty good about spills thus far. It had been two weeks since she started, and tonight hadn’t been to bad in regards to her doing her job correctly. However, the customers were a different story. She had definitely had her fair share of guys hitting on her tonight. She didn’t think that it would be a problem if she didn’t use her abilities, but even not using them, the guys seemed to flock to her. It had only been two and a half hours into her shift, and she’d already gotten three numbers, and two guys who had grabbed her ass. She didn’t do anything about it though. She was sort of used to people being like that around her, but that was normally because she seduced them into feeling that way about her. Tonight, she hadn’t used her ability once, at least not on purpose. It was starting to piss her off. She was here to work, hence the reason she didn’t use her abilities.
”Hey sweet thing?”
Emery heard the familiar voice to her left. He’d been sitting there since she started her shift and was eyeing her the whole freaking time trying to talk to her and get her to let him take her out sometime. Emery rolled her eyes throwing down the rag in front of her on the counter. She turned to him. “What!”
The guy smirked. “Don’t get lippy with me, girl. Those lips can be used for something much nicer than your attitude.” He took another sip of his Miller Beer, and as he swallowed he handed it in her direction. “I want another one.”
Emery stared at him for a few seconds. Gosh what an ass hole, but she had to deal with it. It wasn’t like she could take him out back and kill him. She grabbed the beer from his hand and gave him a smile. “Coming right up.” She turned throwing the empty bottle into the large garbage that held all of the glass bottles. She reached into the big tray of ice right in front of all the liquor pulling out another Miller Beer.
“Mmm, mmm, mmm. Did anyone ever tell you how fine you are from behind?”
Emery stared at the liquor on the wall and imagined grabbing one of the bottles and smashing it over his head. That was it. She was done. He was bugging her too much. She’d have to kill him. And it wasn’t like he’d be missed. She was sure of it. He was just a jerk of a demon that probably killed babies in his free time. There wasn’t anything wrong with offing him. If anything, she was doing a favor for society. Emery turned to face him again, a smirk playing across her lips. “Yeah, I’ve heard that one before, but not by someone as attractive as you.” She walked towards him making sure to move her hips a little more than usual. She set the beer down on the counter and leaned towards him putting her hand on his arm. “Wanna get a better look? Meet me out back in 10.” She whispered making sure the other bartender didn’t hear her.
The guy grinned. “I knew it wouldn’t take you long to realize what you’d be missing.”
Emery pulled away from the counter. “Yeah, well, what can I say. I’m oblivious I guess.” She shrugged as she turned around and to mix another drink for a woman at the end of the bar. When she turned back around, the guy who was sitting there was nowhere in site. She smiled. Killing on the job wasn’t what she intended to do. After all, she didn’t want to get fired, but she could make an exception for this jerk. Emery set the glass in front of the woman who had ordered a long island ice tea. “Here ya go!” She gave her a smile, and the woman thanked her. She then turned and glanced over at the other female bartender who she still didn’t know the name of nor care. “I’m goin’ on break.”
The bartender just glanced her way and nodded. Emery quickly scanned the bar for Kai. He didn’t seem to be present anywhere. He was probably just sitting in his office having himself a glass of blood or something. Either way, there was probably no way he’d notice her even missing for the amount of time it would take her to kill this ass hole. She moved her hand across the counter and jumped off the step the platform behind the bar. She moved through the crowd of demons and humans heading towards the back door. This was going to just make her night.

Kai was currently out in the city. He didn't feel he really was going to be needed tonight so he didn't have any plans tonight to head towards Bloodlust. It wasn't unusual for him not to be seen at the club. It was quite natural really. He had employees in whom he could trust to take care of the place and if he was absolutely needed then they knew to call him but those were only on real emergencies and didn't happen to often. So at the moment though he was feeding away on some weak human who had offered herself right up to him. Of course for more than just blood. Who was Kai to reject her sweet offer? That was when his phone started going off. He pulled away from the girl as he pulled his phone out of his pocket. It was work. Apparently Emery wasn't exactly having the greatest night. Before he continued on his phone he compelled the girl to forget what happened and to go home.
When he was safely perched on the ledge of the building he finished his phone conversation. It seems like some of his customers were being just a bit too friendly with Emery. He sighed in frustration. He didn't own a brothel. He owned a bar. His employees weren't fresh meat that you could pick at. Of course what they did off hours was there own business but that didn't make them free game during hours. Where he believed his employees could take care of themselves he would still step in when they were being given trouble. Looked like he would have to be making a small stop at the bar tonight. With that in mind he made his way over to Bloodlust.
It didn't take him long. He was soon walking in through the front door and over to the bar. He took a look around and didn't see Emery anywhere. When he question Lexy, another of his employees she said that Emery had apparently gone outside to the back. He sighed. He went that way which didn't take long. Once outside he looked around the area. It only took a second to find Emery with some guy. What the hell? She was suppose to be working. This was to end now.

Emery threw the guy up against the wall gripping him roughly her mouth pressing against his lips. They’d been at this for about fifteen minutes now, and she was just about ready to kill him. His prickly face was digging into her cheeks, which was starting to get really annoying. She would have just killed him right away. That was what she was supposed to do. I mean after all, she was supposed to be on the job, and breaks were only ten minutes long. Someone would be out to get her shortly she imagined. But she just couldn’t help it. For some reason, lately, it had begun to get harder and harder for her to stop herself. It wasn’t because she couldn’t. It was just because she didn’t want to. She loved killing. And after doing it for six years, you had to do different things to keep it exciting. It was sort of like sex. No wonder why couples who were in their seventies were still together.
The guy moved his hand up to her hair and dug his fingers into it. That was something she hated. If she did enjoy this kissing, that would have just ruined everything. It would be different if he moved his hand through her waves gently, but she couldn’t stand when men…or women for that matter just dug their hands into her hair messing it up completely and getting it tangled to no end.
Between kisses, the guy made weird noises that Emery had never heard before and never wanted to hear again. And of course, then he started talking. “Oh baby, you are some piece of…”
Alright, that was it. She couldn’t even prolong the draining because he was irritating her so much. She made a quick movement grabbing his face before he could continue his sentence. “You finish that sentence, and I’ll make sure you never speak again.” She smirked. “Oh, that’s right. I’ve already decided to do that.” She leaned in pressing her lips to the man’s her hand still gripping his face tightly. His sexual aura slowly began to escape his body and enter hers through her mouth.
It only took her a minute to drain him to the point of him being completely juiceless. She pulled away gasping. She let go of the man’s face and his sunken in body dropped to the alley ground. She stumbled but shifted catching herself. Damnit. She had taken too much yet again. But that was what happened when she drained someone to the point of death. Luckily the dizziness lasted only a few seconds. She sighed and stood up straight. It was probably a good idea to dispose of the body, but she’d have to put it somewhere that was very difficult to find.
Emery stepped back and bent down to begin dragging him over to the Bloodlust dumpster. She’d have to shove him behind the dumpster for now, just until after her shift where she could take him back to her house. Burning the bodies and burying the bones seemed to be the best way to go in this instance. She really couldn’t afford getting caught. Just before she was about to start dragging him, she heard something from the back door of Bloodlust. She glanced in that direction and standing right by the door was Kai. She wasn’t sure how long he’d been standing there, but judging by his facial expression, she was pretty sure he had seen everything. She stood up straight and put her hands on her hips. “Well, damn, you caught me.” This was just great. So much for working at Bloodlust.

Being vampire he was able to walk very stealthily. It was one of the attributes that he adored about being a vampire. The ability to move around without making a sound. It was definitely handy when it came to sneaking up on your prey. He always got a rush out of it but this wasn't exactly one of the times where he would relish in the chance to stalk some helpless girl in the shadows. This was business and he was in his boss mode. Now he didn't care what happened in his employees personal life. If they picked up somebody at the bar and met them after hours then fine. He wasn't running a dating service. During hours it was meant to all be professional and he expected his employees to know that.
Now given Emery was the newcomer he would caught her a bit of slack and let her off with a warning but she only got one chance. He was walking over to the duo ready to break it up and pulled Emery back inside when he stopped dead in his tracks. He had thought he'd be interrupting some private time and yet he found himself watching a bit more than that. He sighed. "Hasn't anyone told you I don't like corpses around the bar? " he said nonchalantly, referring to the body that had just dropped to the floor like a rag doll. He walked over to the now drained man and knelt down to inspect the body. "Oh Jack. I told you if you weren't careful you were going to get it. I hope you at least made him pay for his drinks before sucking him dry." he said looking up at Emery before he stood straight again.
"So Succubus huh? Well at least now that's one less thing I have to wonder about." Since Emery stepped into the bar Kai knew she wasn't human nor vampire but never asked. "You will be getting rid of the body soon won't you?"
