Trenton walked into his room, wiping the blood from his lips. He was meeting Marina tonight and the last thing he desired was to be hungry when they went out. So, he had had a little extra tonight. That way, he'd be less likely to hurt her. He then took his shirt off and put it in his laundry basket. Okay, I need to change or Marina could possibly be frightened he thought to himself as he turned towards his closet and perused his shirts. What could he wear? He wanted to look nice for her. After all, Marina Sinclair deserved the best. He furrowed her brows, rifling through the shirts. He needed to find something fitting. Because Marina was worth looking at his best. Suddenly, he heard someone approaching, and turned around, waiting expectantly.

Zach was so happy that his dorm room had a bathroom. Most people weren’t so lucky. They had to use the communal showers and toilets. Yuck! The worst thing was stepping out of a nice warm shower and walking right into another guy. Ew! Seeing guys naked was not something he was fond of. Lucky for him Trenton was never around. He always seemed to disappear during the day and come back all mysterious and brooding at night. So annoying! He still didn’t understand why his roommate had to be such an ass. But it was his decision to stick around. He could easily get a new roommate, but what would the fun be in that? He enjoyed irritating this guy. And boy did he get irritated like no other.
Just as Zach finished washing his hands and wiping them on the hand towel, he could hear the door to the room open and slam shut. Zach glanced out into the room and noticed it was Trenton. He watched as Trenton wiped blood from his mouth. Zach smirked and headed back out into the room. “What? Did I really miss the best show in the world? Please tell me someone didn’t break your face open without me knowing about it.” Zach stopped a few feet away from him. Zach watched as Trenton rummaged through his dresser looking for something nice to wear. He watched as Trenton went from his dresser to his closet. When Trenton spun around, Zach could see that he was expecting someone else. “What? Surprised to see me? Did you forget that you have a roommate? Or are you just trying to look all sexy for me? Because with those shirts, I doubt you’re going to be successful.” Zach shrugged.

Mari walked down to the dorm with her slow gate. Her blue top sparkled with silken softness as she knocked on the door. Her pants covered her braces nicely and the shoes she wore tied to them to make it easy for her to wear flats when she chose to. Trenton had asked her out and her stomach trembled with butterflies and she checked her hair with a gentle pat. It was braided in a french braid and had a blue ribbon woven through it. Her makeup was natural and highlighted her cheekbones. Hearing noises she knocked on the door and peeked her head in, "Trenton?" she called quietly as she saw him speaking with Zack. She blushed as she saw he was shirtless. 'Nice' she thought to herself as she tried to tear her eyes away and turned her back shyly. "Guess I got here early." she said with pink cheeks as she tried to speak to them without being completely rude, "I'm Marina." she said shyly to Zack as she looked at a bookshelf and studied the titles. She didn't know what else to do. Talk about ackward. The scent of her perfume tickled over the room as she tried not to be overly noisy, "I can wait outside." she said softly.

Trenton rolled his eyes when Zach made his comment about him getting into a fight. Please. If I were to get into a fight, I would be the victor and there would be one less person in Los Angeles, he thought to himself as his eyes shone a brilliant gold. However, when he turned back to look at Zach, his eyes were once again brown. "Don't be ridiculous. I'm far too good a fighter to be bested. And besides, do you see any bruises?" he smirked before turning back to his closet. He selected a dressy-looking gray shirt and was about to put it on when a new scent caught his attention. Trenton closed his eyes briefly and took in the scent. It was some sort of perfume. Marina must be here, he thought to himself. He slipped on the shirt and turned around as she commented that she was early. "Not at all. It's perfect timing," he replied. She introduced herself and then stated that she could wait outside. Trenton shook his head and waved her in. "Feel free to look at any of my books. I'll only be a minute more, Bella," he told her, turning around. He stared at her outfit, a blue shirt and nice dress pants. Amazing. She looks amazing, he thought. "You look positively radiant," he stated. He turned back to the mirror to make sure that there was no traces of blood on his teeth and did a quick check of his fangs before turning his features back to normal and turning around. He grabbed a small jewelry box off of his dresser and then walked over to her. He went to take her hand and place a kiss on it. "For you. I hope you like it," he said, offering her the box. Inside was a silver cross necklace, which was small enough that it had only caused minimal damage to his person when he was handling it and actual silver so that if she was ever attacked by a werewolf, she would have some protection. Plus, it would keep other vampires from getting too close. He had sent the word out all through Los Angeles that he was displeased with the moniker of "Pet" being placed upon Marina and that she was not to be touched. Most vampires had complied with his wishes, though there had been some whom he had been forced to elimate for Marina's safety. He pushed these thoughts out of his head and and smiled at the girl once more.

Zach turned when he heard a voice. A girl stood at the door. Not the type of girl that Zach normally went for. She was a bit on the older side which was what had turned him off completely. Either way, it was strange seeing a girl in the room. How the heck could Trenton of all people get a pretty girl like this? When she introduced herself to him, he nodded. “Uh huh.” That was all he could put in before Trenton ignored him, walked over to her, and complimented her on how good she looked. Why couldn’t he just say ‘hey you look great’. Instead he had to go all 1800’s on her and say she looked ‘positively radiant’. Zach rolled his eyes. What was with him? For a 19-20 year old, he sure said some ridiculous things.
Zach watched as Trenton handed her a fancy decorated box. Are you kidding me? He got her a gift too? Okay who was this guy and what did he do with Zach’s roommate? He watched the two of them and jealousy sunk in. How could he be jealous of this guy? But there was a simple answer. Zach was lonely. He missed Jace. He wanted a girlfriend again. Someone to cuddle with, laugh with, hell, go shopping with which was saying a lot because Zach hated shopping. “Okay, well, I guess I’ll head out. I was going to stay and bug you, but my hate is for you, not this girl. And that just wouldn’t be fair to her.” He smiled glancing at Marina. “I’m Zach by the way, and just to let you know, he’s a real ass hole. He moved his eyes back to Trenton shrugging. “Figured she should know who she’s dealing with.” Zach said as he headed towards the door.

She smiled and brushed a curl over her ear as Trenton commented on her timing. She’d have to be blind not to be affected by a man with a nice chest buttoning his shirt. She was human after all. She sensed the tension in the air between Zach and Trenton. ‘They don’t like each other at all. she thought quietly as she regarded the two boys and Trenton said she was on time.
She moved closer to the bookshelf and smiled softly. She liked being called Bella for some reason. She blushed even more at the compliment and perused his bookshelves as only a librarian can. Her eyes sparkled as he complimented her, “If you keep doing that I’m going to have such a swelled head I won’t fit through the door.” She could sense how much Zach disliked Trenton. More than the usual roommate annoyance. This was getting more and more awkward.
When he presented her with the box she opened it and looked up at him, “Its beautiful. I love it.” She said as she took the chain up and went to fasten it. She didn’t want to risk Trenton handling it in front of Zach. Her eyes flicking over to Zach as she shook herself free of her musings, “Sorry, don’t mean to be all mushy or anything.” She turned toward Zach slowly and grinned, “So I’m guessing you aren’t part of the Trenton fan club?” she says gently with a slight smirk as she looked between them. She realized that Zach was lonely and that the girl he she rescued was the same one he was crushing on. “So they still haven’t figured out why that guy went after that blond girl Jace I met at the hospital. But I hear that they released her. I hope she does alright. Having a stalker is kind of creepy and she seemed like a really nice girl.” Then Zach lashed out even as he introduced himself, “Pleased to meet you?...” she said as she tried to think of something to say,
Zach reminded her of her dad. The same passive aggressive bullshit he pulled with the cutting someone down and making it so you really couldn’t say anything without either fully endorsing them and adding to the misery or antagonizing them further, “I appreciate the warning. I kinda get that you two have some bromance tension going on.” She grinned hugelly, “But hey you don’t gotta be jealous. I’ll bring him home before 11 so you two can go do that gossip thing over burgers at Denny’s or something. I mean the whole I love you so much I’m acting like I hate you thing is just cute.” She winked at Zach and offered him a hand good naturedly “You don’t have to go. I just like joking to bust up some tension. Honestly I just never know what to say in the my schlong is bigger than your schlong contests."

Trenton had been about to offer to fasten the necklace around Marina's neck when she did it herself. He smiled briefly as she stated that it was beautiful. It was good that she was pleased with his gift. When she apologized for sounding mushy, he waved the comment aside. "I'm glad that you are pleased with your gift. I was a bit unsure as to what your taste in jewelry was," he admitted. She then turned to Zach and surmised that they weren't exactly friends. "No. He and I don't...mingle with the same crowd," Trenton responded diplomatically. While normally, he had no problems with irritating the human, he wanted the night to be memorable in a good way for Marina, and causing an argument with his roommate was not exactly conducive to Marina enjoying herself.
Marina went on to talk about the attack in the hospital that had happened the other night, stating that she was confused as to why the other girl had been attacked and that she hoped that she'd be all right. "I am sure that she will be just fine, Bella. I am sure that there is no need to be concerned," Trenton assured. Though he had to admit, the thought of a hunter---even one that was not hunting him---unsettled him a bit. It was something that he had been trying to look into, though so far, he had not had much luck in gaining any information.
Trenton raised a brow when she mentioned the tension between the two boys. Just where is she going with this? he wondered with some interest. She continued, telling Zach that she'd have Trenton home by eleven so that they could bond and gossip at Denny's, causing him to roll his eyes. "That is not going to happen any time soon," he told her. Her last comment caused him to laugh. "Trust me, mine is bigger...not that you would ever see mine. Your father would kill me," he stated. "And on that note, Bella, I believe we should be going," he told her and offered her his arm. "Shall we?"

After Trenton answered the question that was directed towards Zach, Zach added, ”Trenton has no fans. But I’m thinking of starting my whole hater club if you’re interested in joining?” He glanced at Marina waiting for a response but saw how happy she seemed to be getting the silver necklace from Trenton. He nodded. “Alright, that’s cool. I’m sure I’ll be able to find some other people who would be dying to join.”
Just as he was starting to have a little fun with this whole situation, Marina mentioned Jace and an attack on her that Zach hadn’t at all heard about. “Wait, what? Someone attacked Jace?” Zach’s mood completely shifted. Why the hell hadn’t anyone told him anything? He had spent time with both Axel and Jayla since they had all realized that they went to the same college, yet neither of them had called to let him know that his ex-girlfriend had been attacked and was lying in a hospital bed. He wasn’t just hurt. He was furious. And how on earth did this woman know about Jace and him. Judging by the way she explained the story, she wasn’t a close friend of Jace’s. And he and Trenton never talked about Jace because one he hated Trenton and two he never talked to anyone about his issues. Zach glanced at Trenton when he said that he was sure Jace would be fine. At that moment, all he wanted to do was leave and go find out what had happened. Who attacked her? Had they caught him? How bad did he hurt her? So many questions were zipping through his mind.
The one thing that was able to bring him back to Trenton and Marina was when Marina mentioned a bromance between the two of them. If that wasn’t bad enough, she used the word schlong. He glanced at Trenton in disgust. “Ew, okay, um, Marina, right? Yeah, if you don’t know what to say than don’t say anything at all. Because the last thing I need to hear is something about his schlong.” He grabbed the door handle pulling it open and walking out. He poked his head back into the room. “And if you by any chance do decide to join the hater club after this so called date, you can find me on Facebook.” He gave her a half smile to show that he was joking and quickly left the room.

Turning her head to the side Marina regarded Trenton with a slight nod, "I kinda got that vibe when you two started taking shots at one another. Its hard to picture you guys getting along for a long period of time without some serious drugs involved." she chuckled at Zach's comment and looked back, You're cool I like that. Not many folks stand up to him. I personally think its good for him. Makes him think on his feet." she said approvingly as she winked at both of them trying to keep the peace.
When she saw Zach shift gears she turned back to him, It was some weirdo with a large knife. I know cause I smashed it out of his hand. As for why? He's one of those purists that thinks that being different is an excuse to carve on someone. I mean seriously attacking someone because they're a different religious belief went out with the Crusades." she muttered and shrugged, "I think she might have been discharged already but I don't know cause I was pretty out of it from the surgery. She's probably back home by now. You should give her a call. Might help, you never know. I know it cheered me up when Trenton visited me in the hospital."
She smiled softly when he said not to worry and nodded lightly before turning to Zach, "If you see Jace tell her I said hi and I think she did really awesome standing up to the guy that went psycho. She's a real fighter." she smiled at him as he muttered about shlongs not being a cool topic, "Oh I know but I just didn't want you guys fighting and its the first thing that popped into my brain. I'll look you up in facebook regardless. I like you. You call things like you see them. I can totally respect that." she gave him a thumbs up when he headed out the door.
She turned back to Trenton after Zach left and chuckled, "I've learned never to assume anything about men. And I really wouldn't know anything like that because I have lousy depth perception and can't gage the size of anything worth a damn." Her cheeks flushed "And as for seeing one. I imagine that will happen when I'm married and not before." she rubbed the back of her neck shyly before taking his arm and walking with him out the door, "What did you have in mind for tonight?" she asked him. She walked with him a ways.
Then the world began to spin, her head buzzing as she gripped Trenton's arm to keep from falling over. Trenton, do you feel that? The world just got..." she blinked and felt the rush of the world, "Very shiny." she tried to shake her head clear, "I think I need to sit down somewhere the world is spinning and everything feels sooo...nice." she giggled like she'd had a few glasses before she got there and she didn't smell like booze at all. "Why is everyone so happy? And fucking like bunnies?" she babbled. "Can we get out of the dorm? Its about to get very loud in the building." She leaned against him slightly as she hummed to herself, "It feels nice. The city is a wonderful place don't you think? Its like bubbles of love began bouncing through the air."
