Walking along the rough pavement, he made a left into one of the dark alleys. He was never one to be afraid of walking down these alleys, however he did feel a slight tinge of nervousness. It was a new town, and he had heard a lot of strange stories taking place in Los Angeles. And he had lived a strange story himself, with everything that had happened; most of which, he was still unable to figure out for himself. He was searching for his parents, just to know whether they were alive or not, after believing they were dead for all of his life. He needed answers, and now that he knew there was a chance that his parents could be alive, he had to find out for sure. There was a lot in his life he wasn't sure about right now.
He fixed his bag over his shoulder and continued further into the alley. He didn't have much to go on; he had the letter his parents wrote, but other than that, what did he have? He didn't have addresses, places of interest or anything like that. And Los Angeles was a big place, that was for sure. He was stuck, but due to his impatient characteristic, had decided to just travel to Los Angeles and think about the details later. It seemed there was going to be a lot to think about, though. But as for right now, he tried not to let those thoughts cloud his mind. He had instead decided to explore the town, have a little adventure. He needed to familiarise himself with everything, especially since he would be attending the university shortly. And he had to look for employment and all that other complicated stuff. Something which he really wasn't looking foward to. Welcome to Los Angeles, Axel.

From the shadows, Trent watched as the boy walked down the alley. He let out a smirk. Stupid boy. Does he really think this is really wise? he wondered. Honestly, there were times when humans really proved his theory that they were nothing better than walking meals. He silently began to follow him. As he did so, he studied the boy intently. He was somewhat lean, tall, with brown hair. As he continued shadowing the human, Trent became aware that he looked familair. Where have I seen him before? he wondered. He frowned. He had to find out who this was. He couldn't let anyone stop his plans. He saw the boy shift his backpack and, and seeing his chance, quickly moved so that he was in front of the boy. "Hello," he greeted.

Somehow, he didn't know how, he felt a presence nearby. In other words, he felt that he was being watched by someone. He turned, but saw nothing. He turned back to face the direction he was headed, and saw a man in front of him. Woah, invasion of privacy much? And in a dark alley, nethertheless?! He gasped softly, taken aback by the man's sudden appearence. He felt like someone was watching him, but they couldn't have just came that quickly out of the shadows without him even hearing or noticing them, could they? He nervously nodded to the man, not sure how to take him. He had heard stories in this town, and they usually took place within alleys like this. Hopefully it was a 'hi, how are you' kind of conversation, but like that ever happened. And it was still rather stalkerish and strange.
"Hey?" He answered in response. He was trying to be nice and friendly, after all, he didn't want to be mugged and stabbed or something, who knows what goes on in this town. Though at the same time, he wasn't pleased at the sudden conversation with a stranger- he wasn't big on talking with people when he didn't want to, especially at this hour. "Can I help you with something? Lost? Join the club, not exactly the best person to be giving directions here." Oh dam, did he just announce to a strange, mysterious potential-killer that he was lost? Great job on being subtle and strong, Axel.
Now was one of those times he wished he had his ipod in his ears so he could pretend he never even heard or saw the man; but of course, the irony was that the only day he forgot to take his ipod for a cruise was the day he was bombarded by a mysterious man deciding to crack up a conversation at this hour. He was just loving his future in this town, really loving it.

Trent smirked as the boy gasped. He loved spiking humans' emotions. It just made the hunt all that much sweeter. Although, right now, he wasn't sure exactly what he wanted to do with the boy: recruit, kill, or maybe just mess with him a little---keep him guessing. "Can I help you with something? Lost? Join the club, not exactly the best person to be giving directions here," the boy told him. Stupid boy. You should never say such things to people you just meet, the vampire thought. From the look on his face, the boy had just realized the same thing. Hmmm...maybe I can use this to my advantage, he thought. "My name's Dante," he told him, purposely using his middle name. "You really shouldn't be out alone at night and you especially shouldn't be taking this route. You never know who you might come up against," he told him, subtly taking in the boy's features. I've seen similar features to his before. Now who is he related to? he wondered. "So, what are you trying to find?" he queried.

As the man introduced himself as 'Dante' he held his defensive stance. He wasn't going to introduce himself, that would just be stupid. At least, he would probably lie and give another name. Why would he give some random person his name? Then they would be able to look him up or track him down, or something along those lines. Not that there was much to look up, but the hesitation was still there. He couldn't trust anyone from first glance in this town, especially in a dark alley when they basically throw themselves onto you.
"I can take care of myself, thanks. And I think I have a fair share of knowledge on what this town is all about." He stated, looking slightly concerned towards the man. What was his whole purpose, in this alley, exactly? Did he just purposely run into people stupid enough to find themselves in dark alleys? He thought he would be fine, but it seemed like coming down this alley was a bad idea. He didn't know what this man was capable of, and although he was trained in martial arts and combat, this man could be anyone and be carrying anything. He wouldn't put anything past anyone in this town.
Then he posed the question on what Axel was doing out here, which he assumed wouldn't be far off. He really didn't know what he was doing out here, anymore. Why did this man have such interest in his reasoning for being out here? "Nothing, just decided to go for a walk, I enjoy the night breeze," he stated, which was only half true. He did enjoy walking around at night, but it wasn't the reason he was out here. Why should this stranger suddenly know all of his business?
He took a quick glance up to the man's eyes, and suddenly felt something eerie about them, he just felt drawn to them, but he didn't know why or how. There was a boldness to them, something so different like he hadn't seen or felt before. He quickly glanced away, looking at the ground, before deciding enough was enough. "I guess I'll continue my walk...See you..." He hoped that was the last he'd see of this man in this alley, but he wouldn't put anything past anyone in this town.

Trent watched with interest as the boy dropped into a defensive stance. So, he's had some sort of training, has he? Trent realized, filing the information away for later use. When the boy didn't respond with his own name, Trent's smirk grew. It would appear that the human was smarter than most. Maybe he should let him live. He hadn't had a good hunt for a while. "I can take care of myself, thanks. And I think I have a fair share of knowledge what this town is all about," the boy retorted and Trent let out a small laugh. "Maybe you do, maybe you don't," he told him and then laughed again when the boy stated that he was merely out for a walk. Out for a walk? Hardly, he thought. However, he didn't let on that he knew the boy was lying. "I guess I'll continue my walk..." the boy stated, breaking their gaze. Trent's eyes flashed with amusement. No doubt he was feeling confused about why he had been drawn in. "Of course," Trent agreed. He still didn't know who the boy was, but he'd enjoy figuring it out. Besides, he seemed interesting, so he'd let him live a bit longer. "...See you..." "Yes...you shall," Trent replied. Then, he walked off.
